Kareena Kapoor aka Bebo, the epitome of elegance and charm, has topped the charts amongst Bollywood actors that inspire nicknames. Adaline Bebo is a 2019 graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and majored in Honors Neuroscience. I've been using social media, in one form or another, for nearly twenty years. I've been on message boards, mailing lists that were actually used for making friends, online pen pal ("keypal") groups, Geocities, Xanga, MySpace, Facebook, Yahoo Groups, Bebo, VampireFreaks, Livejournal, Blogspot, Blogger, Formspring, Instagram, Amino, and probably some more I can't even remember.

Within two weeks on Tiktok, I witnessed more antisemitism than I'd seen in the last two decades.

(If hearing descriptions of this antisemitism will be triggering, this is your cue to scroll past this post.)

There are people who deny the Holocaust, people who say it didn't happen but they wish it had, and people who say it should happen again. There are people who say "6 million wasn't enough" (often abbreviated to 6MWE) or other jokes about the number of Shoah victims. There are white nationalists and white supremacists who use neonazi dogwhistles like 14/88. Jews who explicitly say "I support Palestinians" are called liars, dirty, scum. There are people commenting "lol good" on posts about antisemitic hate crimes, and frequently claim that the hate crime in question was "just antizionist, not antisemitic" even if it had nothing whatsoever to do with Zionism. One guy posted a bunch of videos of himself playing Grand Theft Auto and getting out to gun down any NPC dressed in traditional Chasidic clothing, continuing to shoot even once they were down, and saying he was proud to be killing the "Zionist scum". There are people using (((echoes))) to indicate Jews, spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories, and using 👃 as a shorthand for "Jew". There are codes beyond 14/88, such as 6MWE ("6 million wasn't enough"), references to 109/"make it 110" (the idea that "Jews have been kicked out of 109 countries so they must be doing something wrong"/"let's kick them out again to make it 110"), "wooden doors" (a Holocaust denial meme), and so on.

Jews are called baby-killers, asked how many babies they've killed, told that by simply existing (even if they have zero connection to the State of Israel) they are causing Palestinian children to die. People claim Jews torture children to drain them of adrenochrome, then crush up their remains and put it in McDonald's burgers. That's basically a modern-day version of blood libel, but I have seen actual traditional blood libel repeated unironically. People say Jews are child-molesters and Judaism condones child abuse. They say that Judaism teaches that gentiles are cattle and that Jews plan to enslave them all. They say Jews are "the biggest anti-white group" and plan to "destroy the white race". They say Jews control the economy and the government and the media, and use the term "elites" as a dogwhistle to refer to Jews. They sexualise Jewish women's bodies in demeaning, racialised ways, while also mocking Jews of all genders for being "ugly". They either say Jews aren't white and are plotting to destroy the white race, or they say Jews are all white (ignoring all Jews of colour) and trying to co-opt the anti-racism movement to oppress people of colour by making it all about themselves. They say Jews have a victim complex and aren't really oppressed. They say Jews invented and/or exaggerated the Holocaust in order to extort money from guilty Western nations. They say being Jewish is a choice, so if you don't want to experience hate crimes, you should just stop being Jewish. They say nobody would know you were Jewish unless you told them, so it's your fault if you experience antisemitism because you should just not tell anybody. They call people kikes, zios, hook-noses, rats (I got called a "juden rat" this week!), demons, pigs, goblins, oven-dodgers. They leave comments like "zey are in ze attic" and other Holocaust jokes. Videos Jews post can get shadowbanned or removed entirely for just using the word "Nazi" or "antisemitism", while actual Nazi content is left up. One guy uploaded a video blaming Jews for every major world event and tragedy for the last 150 years, and it was evaluated as "not violating Community Guidelines", but people responding to it to explain why it was wrong did get censored. Sometimes the app will actually just censor the word "Jew" itself.

Even though most Jews acknowledge that it is entirely possible for some Jews to have white privilege and recognise that Jews of colour are targeted more explicitly, there are a lot of people who tell Jews who are (or pass as) white that they should shut up about antisemitism because nobody can tell they're Jewish and Jews of colour are the only ones who are ever targeted. They say that it's just "white tears" to say you're scared of the neo-Nazis at the Capitol riot, the congresswoman who quoted Hitler there, the evangelical Christians who used Jewish symbols and led the public to believe the whole thing was a "Zionist" conspiracy, the man with the "Camp Auschwitz staff" shirt. They weaponise the trauma experienced by Jews of colour to make their own political points while ignoring (and even blocking) actual Jews of colour. They promote conspiracy theories like the Khazar hypothesis, claiming that Jews are actually just European identity thieves who stole a Middle Eastern culture. They accuse Jews of colour of upholding white supremacy by not rejecting Jews who descend from the diaspora in Europe. They say antisemitism against Jews isn't real because "they're not true Semites"/"they're not the only Semites", so Jews are the real antisemites because every single one of them personally oppresses Palestinians.

They defend the Messianic movement (the self-styled "Messianic Jews" who are actually evangelical Christians) and say Jews are bigots if they don't accept Messianics. They defend the appropriation and bastardisation of Judaism and Jewish culture, which they claim to understand far better than Jews themselves. For instance, they like to lecture Jews about what the Tanakh and Talmud actually say, and refuse to be told otherwise.

The best part is that half the time, in the very same comment section where all of this is happening, there are other people saying "you're making that up. Nobody says things like that."

Crisis on Infinite Earths Reactions

I ALWAYS look forward to the crossover each year and this one was the biggest so far. While it took me a bit to get into it, overall I liked it a lot and can’t get over how much happened. It’s always a fun time seeing our characters from different shows interact, but in Crisis the cameos were endless. While this reaction post will mainly focus on parts 4 and 5 (because they are freshest in my head) I want to highlight some of my favorite guest star moments for the entire Crisis crossover:

Almost forgot! Here’s your Spoiler Warning!!!

LOVED seeing Brandon Routh as Superman again. Despite popular opinion, Superman Returns is one of my favorites and was the kick off to my love for superheroes. I loved that he got to put the cape back on and revisit this character in a totally new light years later. He was around for a good amount of the crossover, which I was impressed by.

I’m still SUPER SHOCKED that this cameo happened. It confirmed that the DC cinematic universe recognizes the CW shows and I’m honestly surprised that this was kept quiet for so long. Well done! Never saw this guest coming!

When it was released that Lucifer would be joining the crossover I was very interested to see how he would be included. I think they did a great job and his interaction with our heroes (specifically with Constantine) was priceless.

John Wesley Shipp as the Flash once more. Such a heartbreaking scene, but it was fantastic how they brought back his show from the 90s.

And the cameo I was most anticipating: TOM WELLING. As a HUGE Smallville fan I was pumped to see him back as Clark as soon as this was released. The scene did not disappoint. It was awesome to see him and Erica Durance back on the Kent Farm.

PARTS 4 + 5

The Speed force was a good way to highlight old Arrow episodes because Part 4 was an Arrow episode after all. But I always get confused when we have episodes like this of how much is real or what the objective is. I think with Sara’s character it was easier because she had been on the show, while with Kate and J’onn we had to watch them react to moments from Oliver’s past that were similar to their own.

Super poetic that Oliver is the one to re-build the multiverse as he (and his show) kicked off the Arrowverse.

Was still not a fan of the amount of Lex in the crossover, but he did have a good line about being the only one to destroy the universe as he helped the heroes fight.

I really liked Sara and Barry’s moments together. I feel like they never get paired up together and they really should.

This quote KILLED me. Especially because Barry said it twice. I will really miss their friendship.

So originally I was like Oliver can’t be dead, but then he died twice and I was believing it more because it was overall a nice tribute to his character (especially at the end). And then the scenes for upcoming episodes came up and said when the remaining Arrow episodes would air and I just became really confused. Are we going to see our Oliver again or will it just be Mia becoming the green arrow?

The true MVP of the Crossover: J’onn Jones. Without him people would have no idea what the universe was before. Thank you, J’onn.

Speaking of....We’re officially in the same universe!!!! I LOVED when Weather Witch showed up in National City and I was like hang on she’s a Flash villain and then the Flash showed up. This has opened up so many things for us.

Baby Sara is BACK!!!! As someone who references her a lot when we watch Arrow I was pumped to see Diggle with his two kids. I just hope this means he still adopts Connor in the future because they’re relationship is adorable.

Great parallel at the end of the crossover to show all the heroes within the multiverse. I like how we got to hear Oliver narrate now. In December I had just started Titans so it was cool to see them now and know who they are. I just think it would have been cool to reference Gotham. Maybe if the show was still on they would have.

The Legends of Tomorrow episode ending the Crisis was great. Theirs was my favorite, which shouldn’t be a shock as it’s my favorite in the Arrowverse. (I am very excited to see it coming back for the new season.) It was funny and easy to follow.

I love how they explained fighting Bebo previously. On any other show it would make no sense and while it still doesn’t make complete sense it works for the Legends. Hearing Barry explain that Wally told them how they all became Bebo once was priceless. This crew just brings out a different side to all casts.

Breaking down the fourth wall and all “the crossover” references was great. (Especially because the Legends missed out on it last year.)

I definitely enjoyed the ending more than the beginning. I am very interested to see where each of these shows are headed in their seasons post crisis.

How long have you been roleplaying?

Honestly, I remember starting out way back when Bebo was a thing. You’d make a profile for a character and write opposite absolutely anyone, even if it was multiple muns writing the same muse. Then the first Tumblr rp I joined was actually a Skins/Glee crossover, which is a wild idea, but it worked. I played Sid in a Sid/Quinn ship, I think.

What are your hobbies outside of writing?

I like to make my own clothes when I get the time ( which is now ), but while I’m working, on a normal day...does going to the pub with friends count? Because that’s 80% of my life.

Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!

Really interesting answer: no.

If you had a month of free time to learn to do something new, what would you choose?

I’ve had a few guitars for literally years because I keep meaning to teach myself, but I’ve never got past learning one song. Seven Nation Army by White Stripes - like, the ultimate beginners song.

Do you listen to music while you write? What are three songs on your playlist?

While I’m writing paras I literally can’t concentrate with music on or I’ll start bopping. But normal gif chats, yes. At the moment I’m listening to a lot of Sticky Fingers, Ocean Alley and Husky.

What’s a favorite recent youtube video/channel?

I actually never used to watch YouTubers until @jocklowden informed me there was one who looked like my main man, now I’m low key attracted to Kurtis Conner and watch his from time to time.

Tell us one random fact about you!

I once got so close to meeting Evan at Universal Studios that I anxiously threw up and never got to :):):)

Who is an FC you’ve always wanted to use but haven’t yet?

There are a couple of actors I personally love the work of but aren’t very well known, like Toby Wallace ( The Society ), Rudy Pankow ( Outer Banks ) and Glen Powell ( Scream Queens, Set It Up ). If you’ve noticed I prefer to write males, it’s because I prefer to stretch further away from real life.

What’s a plot you’ve always wanted to write but haven’t yet?

Something a bit more fictional, recently I’ve stuck to hollywood groups but I’ve always wanted to try something apocalyptic. Also anything with @liliricnhart and @itskjapa please, as I’m the worst and unintentionally bailed while I had fun threads/connections going with them.

Do you have a favorite plot you’ve seen someone else in the group do?

I loved the development of @hqnessa and @drewhq back when they were a thing, with all the drama that came along with them thanks to Drew’s ex faking a pregnancy, and getting to be even minorly involved in that as Jordan was definitely a fun time.

Who on the dash makes you smile?

Literally everyone. Impossible to pick. You all have your moments where I read the posts, laugh along with them, or enjoy getting to see things play out for everyone’s muses.

What is your favorite memory in the group?

Realising that amongst all of my threads and paras with @goodlourd that Billie and Evan had chemistry that went way beyond being just good friends. Though they’re two muses people wouldn’t ever think to put together considering their close ties to Emma, it’s made me realise they would work insanely well, and getting to play everything out with Maree and Lex ( @emberts ) , who I’m super close to OOC, has been a treat.

Also @alxdaddarios trying to avoid the feels for Zac by sleeping with Evan, then being taken back to Zac/Evan’s shared room on the Hawaii trip was pretty spectacular. And Jofia going against all the odds to get together, it was like those two against the world @hqsofia .

What’s your favorite thing about your celeb(s)?

For Evan, I love the fact that he really doesn’t give a shit. He hasn’t changed one bit from his starting out days, to now when he’s much more well known. He doesn’t seem to care about making himself more Hollywood - he’ll show up on the red carpet in the goofiest things, lead impromptu karaoke sing-a-longs during panels, follows stoner blogs on his public accounts, and chats to fans when he’s drunk in bars. And I love getting to follow his example, much to his best friends dismay ( @joekcery @hqgemma )

For Nick, I love that he’s so unexpectedly hilarious. Everyone always says they’re surprised by how witty he is. He’s the perfect mixture of an intelligent gentleman who clearly doesn’t take himself too seriously. And those eyes, though.

What’s a plot you miss?

Forever Fernrock. Alice and I didn’t even get to touch on nearly as much as we wanted to with those two, but they had the potential to be something really great. To the point where we still ship them now, in real life. Just waiting for Finn to realize he likes dudes. Or, a dude. @ariagrans

What would you love to see this group do in the future?

More AU weeks! They’re my favourite. They’re opportunities to write with people we don’t usually write with, in so many different scenarios, and I love getting to see who comes out with what. Shoutout to @itsnataliadyr , you know why.

El maratón interminable del Sr. Dharam Singh 👳🏻‍♂️ Dharampal Singh Gudha, también conocido como Dharam Pal Singh o Dharampal Singh Gujjar, es un corredor indio que ha afirmado controvertidamente que es el corredor de maratón más viejo del mundo con su 125 años a cuestas. Gudha afirma haber nacido el 6 de octubre de 1897, proviene del pueblo de Gudha en Meerut y es agricultor de profesión y afirma también haber estado corriendo desde que era un adolescente. 🏃🏻‍♂️ "Cuando era joven, solía correr de mi pueblo al pueblo vecino, que estaba a unos 600 o 700 metros de distancia. Daba varias vueltas. No sabía cómo correr entonces (la técnica) pero lo hice por instinto", dice. Se levanta a las 4 am y corre cuatro kilómetros diarios. Participa en carreras de nivel interestatal para veteranos en las categorías de 100, 200 y 400 metros.
