Wilhelm, being the only character in the show to break the fourth wall, is really important to me because I take it as a sign that he's the one telling this story. It's his story, and he's aware, and allowing us to veiw it. It's a very large juxtaposition to the actual story, where we see his boundaries being repeatedly broken, and one of his main struggles is the fact that he can not handle the stress of being known as Crown Prince and being perceived. For the first two seasons, especially the first season, any time Wille breaks the fourth wall It's almost calling us as an audience out. It's like we're looking at something we shouldn't, because every time Wille looks so disaprooving, but that last 4th wall break at the end, he finally smiles at us, finally accepts sharing this part of him now that he isn't tied down by these obligations of being Crown Prince.

like yes i love talking about myself and hate listening to others and would rather just dominate the conversation with my own speech, but i will make an effort to ask questions and actively listen to the other person and refrain from steering the conversation back on myself to be respectful

yes i will exaggerate and borderline lie about every story and anecdote i tell to get the reaction i want (praise/sympathy) but i will also make an active effort to be honest and not intentionally lie everywhere else to offset this, because the exaggerations are ultimately harmless anyways

yes i lack affective empathy, but i can push myself to have cognitive empathy, i try to display sympathy and compassion to the best of my abilities

yes i'm only really willing to associate with people who meet my standards of special-ness, but i also won't be a rude pos to anyone who doesn't
