BeeTober 2023 Day 11 - Falling apart
They have just put Klee to bed when it bursts out of Kaeya.
“Let’s have more kids.”
Albedo blinks at him as Kaeya’s brain tries to catch up to what his mouth just blurted out and he doesn’t know what it means that he’s faster with it than Albedo.
“Forget I said that,” he rushes out just as quickly and walks away from Albedo who is still quiet behind him, though he does follow.
“I didn’t know you wanted more kids,” Albedo says when he catches up to him in the kitchen and Kaeya busies himself with cleaning up dinner.
It’s Albedo’s turn today, since Kaeya cooked, but he needs to keep his hands busy for now.
“I—” Kaeya starts but then cuts himself off.
He didn’t know he wanted kids in the first place, not before Albedo and Klee stepped into his life, but ever since that happened he finds himself thinking that one more kid in their house couldn’t hurt at the strangest times.
Klee would love it too, he’s sure about it.
“Let’s forget about it, petal,” he finally whispers out and knows Albedo will not grant him that mercy when he pulls a chair out to sit.
“Kaeya, come sit, please,” he says, his voice very calm and Kaeya’s shoulder’s rise up to his ears.
He’s not a fan of this tone of voice but he should have guessed that Albedo whips it out. They have never talked about more kids before this and for him to just blurt it out like that—
“Fine,” Kaeya mutters and puts the plates back down to sit at the table with Albedo.
“I didn’t know you felt that way,” Albedo says, his voice still eerily calm and Kaeya can’t meet his eyes.
“I didn’t know either,” Kaeya gives back. “It’s just—it seems so easy with you and Klee and I can’t help but to think that a bigger family would be nice.”
“I—” Albedo falls silent without finishing his thoughts and that is rare enough that new worry settles into Kaeya’s gut.
“You can just say no, you know,” he tells him with a small smile, finally raising his eyes to meet Albedo’s.
“I never wanted to be a dad,” Albedo says. “It wasn’t planned that Alice shoves her kid on me and then fucks off. I never wanted to be a dad and it barely feels right to be a big brother to Klee. And I—I don’t want to be a dad. Not to a kid of our own,” Albedo admits and his face twists in that way that tells Kaeya he thinks he’s done something wrong. “Sorry.”
“That’s fine,” Kaeya whispers and reaches out for his hand, threading their fingers together. “Albedo, that’s perfectly fine.”
“But you want to be a dad. How is it fine if I don’t.”
“Well, we both feel how we feel, right? I’m happy with what we have right now. Are you?”
“Of course I am,” Albedo immediately says, squeezing Kaeya’s hand. “I was so overwhelmed at first with Klee, and work but with you it feels—easier. It feels doable. But not for more than Klee.”
“Petal, you don’t have to keep saying that, I get it. I just wanted to know if you like how it is right now. Don’t think about more kids, just think about now.”
“I love how it is right now,” Albedo says and then bites his lip in a way that means he’s trying to stop himself from saying more.
“Then we’ll keep it how it is,” Kaeya easily says, because what else is there to say, really.
It was a fleeting thought anyway and Kaeya would happily discard it for all of eternity if it means he gets to keep Albedo and Klee by his side.
“And—you’ll be fine with that?”
“Of course. It was just a thought, really. We never talked about it, and I really shouldn’t have sprung it on you like that anyway, so it’s fine. I am happy right now, too. I love you.”
“I love you,” Albedo gives back and Kaeya has to laugh at the relief that is so very clear on his face. “What?”
“It’s kind of funny how stressed just that comment made you,” Kaeya chuckles out and then laughs for real when Albedo pouts at him.
“It’s not funny, Kaeya, you scared me.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. I didn’t really think.”
“Clearly,” Albedo mutters, rolling his eyes at Kaeya and Kaeya knows they’ll be alright.
~*~*~
“Kaeya!” Albedo’s voice sounds urgent enough that Kaeya gets up from the couch with a grumble.
Albedo went to get the door so Kaeya could stay exactly where he was and now this just feels cruel.
“What? Who is it?” Kaeya asks and freezes when he comes to a stop next to Albedo.
There’s a woman on the other side of the door; a woman holding a child in her arms.
“What is this?”
“She says it’s yours,” Albedo faintly says and Kaeya blinks.
“I’m with child protection services. Have you not been informed?”
“No?” Kaeya asks, feelings as if he is having an out of body experience. “Informed about what?”
“The mother put you down as the father on the birth certificate. She’s unfit to take care of him, so you should have been contacted and informed about this.”
“I haven’t,” Kaeya whispers out, his eyes dropping to the child. “How old is he?”
“One year and three months,” the woman helpfully says and Kaeya sways on the spot.
He had been with Albedo already at that time. Even if they add the nine months to that, Kaeya had already been with Albedo.
“Petal—”
“I’m inside if you need me,” Albedo says and promptly turns on his heels and walks away from the door and from Kaeya.
And just like that, his entire life is falling apart around Kaeya.
“Am I right to assume that you have nothing prepared?” the woman asks and Kaeya nods, still shell-shocked.
“We have a child here, but she’s almost six, so I doubt that would help.”
“I see. Well, seeing as you weren’t properly informed and you’re not prepared, I’ll take him back with me for now, but you should expect a call tomorrow to clear things up. You are his father after all.”
“Sure,” Kaeya gives back on autopilot, wondering how in the hell he’s ever going to explain this to Albedo when he doesn’t even understand it himself. “Mind if I ask—who is the mother?”
The woman gives him a look but Kaeya is too numb to be bothered by it.
“Angela,” the woman says, not even giving him a last name. “You know someone with that name?”
“Yeah, I do,” Kaeya mutters. She’s a former classmate of his; he had seen her at their high school reunion two years ago but she hadn’t seemed pregnant back then.
And he certainly didn’t have a hand in that.
“You’re not the father, are you?” the woman asks him much gentler then, clearly picking up on his distress and Kaeya shakes his head.
“I’m not.”
“She did put you down in the certificate though, so an official paternity test will have to clear this up. You up for that?”
“Sure,” Kaeya whispers out and then shoots a look over his shoulder. “Can we—talk on the phone, tomorrow, though. I have to—” he points inside the apartment and the face of the woman softens slightly.
“Sure. I’ll call you tomorrow.”
She’s about to turn away when Kaeya stops her.
“What’s his name?”
“Bennett,” she says without stopping and Kaeya nods to himself.
He doesn’t know why he even wanted to know; it’s not as if he’s his or as if he’s going to be responsible for him.
Kaeya takes a moment to gather himself after he closes the door before he goes to find Albedo.
He’s on the couch, his hands clasped tightly and he looks about as unhappy as Kaeya feels.
“Petal, I—”
“Where did she go?” Albedo interrupts him.
“Back. We—there are still things to be cleared up.”
“There are,” Albedo says, his voice just as hard as his eyes when they meet Kaeya’s.
“I didn’t cheat on you.”
“Why would someone wrongly put you down as the father?” Albedo asks him at the same moment and Kaeya’s mouth drops open.
“You’re not—even asking?”
“What would I be asking, Kaeya? I know you love me and I would never doubt that you’re faithful to me. Why would you think I wouldn’t?”
“I just—she stood there with a kid and said it was mine!”
“And it isn’t, is it?”
“Of course it’s not! He’s not mine. I don’t know why she would do that to Bennett, but he’s not mine!”
“Bennett, huh?” Albedo mutters. “You know the mother?”
“I do,” Kaeya sighs out and drops down on the couch next to Albedo and tries not to cry tears of joy when Albedo immediately moves close and takes his hand. “I went to high school with her. I met her at the reunion two years ago, remember that?”
“I remember that you went and that I was very adamant on staying here,” Albedo says with a smile that quickly turns into a frown. “Maybe I should have joined you.”
“I didn’t shut up about you and Klee all evening. She definitely knows I’m gay and taken. I don’t know why she would do that.”
“The woman said the mother is unfit to take care of him, right? Maybe she already knew that at the time of his birth.”
“But why me?”
“Did you gush a lot about Klee?” Albedo asks and Kaeya instantly nods.
He doesn’t remember all of that evening—it has been two years after all—but he is certain he didn’t shut up about Albedo and Klee because he never does. It all he ever really talks about.
“She probably thinks you could take good care of him, then,” Albedo says as if that is the only possible solution and Kaeya scoffs.
“Yeah, right,” he mutters.
They fall quiet for a moment, both lost in their own thoughts, and Kaeya wonders how long a paternity test takes. How long it will be before this mess can be cleared up.
“I’m getting a paternity test, to refute the claim,” he tells Albedo, because he’s not sure he heard that last part of his conversation with the woman.
Albedo is quiet for long enough that Kaeya turns a worried gaze on him.
“Petal?”
“Or you could not,” Albedo mumbles but he meets Kaeya’s gaze head on.
“What? Albedo, what are you talking about?”
“I’m just—thinking.”
“You don’t want any kids! I’m not—” Kaeya falls silent, despair filling his entire being when a devastating thought enters his head. “Are you going to leave me?” he then whispers out and he forces himself to not tighten his grip on Albedo.
“Why would I ever leave you?” Albedo asks and leans in for a kiss. “I love you. I’m not going to leave you.”
“What is this about then?” Kaeya asks feeling almost faint with relief.
“We’re doing okay with Klee, right?”
“We’re doing awesome with Klee,” Kaeya immediately corrects him because they are.
“And she wasn’t planned at all. Neither for you nor for me. Alice just dropped her off with me and then never returned.”
“And you hated that,” Kaeya reminds him because he still doesn’t see where this is going.
“I did. But it all worked out so well and I just can’t help but to think—what if this ends well, too? I mean, the mother put you down as the father for a reason; she must have seen something in you that made her think you could take care of him. And I mean—I see that with Klee every day. You’re so good with her and to her and I just think—Bennett deserves the same.”
“Albedo, you said you don’t want any more kids,” Kaeya reminds him yet again because he still very vividly remembers that talk even though it has been a few months since then.
“Because the thought scares me. And it scares me still. But think about it; all the unplanned things in our lives have worked out so good for us. And this is as unplanned as it gets.”
“It is,” Kaeya agrees and he has a hard time wrapping his head around what Albedo is saying. “So you’re saying—”
“Don’t get a paternity test. Let’s just pretend he’s yours and let’s just see where this will take us.”
“You hate unplanned things like that,” Kaeya can’t help but to argue because he can’t believe that Albedo could suggest this.
“I do,” Albedo agrees easily. “But I love you. And I think together we can do this. Don’t you?”
“Albedo, we can do anything together. We’re basically raising a pyromaniac and we somehow managed to prevent her from burning anything down yet. We can do anything. As long as we’re together.”
“Together,” Albedo agrees and squeezes his hand. “If it’s together, then let’s do it. Let’s give Bennett a good life, okay?”
“I love you,” Kaeya breathes out, tears in his eyes and Albedo immediately leans in to kiss them away.
It’s definitely not going to be easy, and it’s so far from everything Albedo and Kaeya have planned for their future but Kaeya can’t help but to agree with Albedo. If it’s together, then they can do it, plans be damned.
“I love you, too,” Albedo whispers. “You and both our kids.”
It’s ridiculous enough that it makes Kaeya laugh, because they don’t even have Bennett yet, but he pulls Albedo into his arms, pressing his face to his hair.
“Both our kids,” he agrees with a whisper and he just knows that Albedo is smiling just like he is.
Together, they can do it.

Chance Meeting
How about a chance meeting of two young women at a coffee house? I really wish I was able to participate in this event more, but regardless a big thank you to @blake-belladonna-defence-force for setting it up.
Summary: Day 22 - Motorcycle.
The day was picturesque, wisps of cloud floated across the sky providing intermittent relief from the sun who's persistence to brighten the landscape was admirable. Beneath the shelter of a parasol at a coffee house's table sat a feline faunus. Her amber eyes flitted across the pages of a book, evidently dogeared and well-worn from years of love and countless recaps.
A rumble of an engine disrupted the peace, drawing the narrowed gaze of the young woman, who's ears flicked in irritation. Before her was a motorcycle in pristine condition, with a rather unusual yellow and black colour scheme. Though it wasn't the bike that caught her attention, no, it was its owner. A woman in a bomber jacket, aviator shades and gorgeous blonde locks that tumbled down her back, cascading like a waterfall as they were released from the confines of her helmet.
The woman was a sight for sore eyes and Blake surreptitiously allowed her own pair to drift across the blonde's frame, her molten gaze hidden from view behind her sunglasses. As much as she tried to convince herself, her cheeks weren't red from the sun. The blush became increasingly apparent as lilac eyes peered in her direction with a tip of the aviators. A confident smile graced those lips, so infectious that Blake's quirked upward in response.
Before she knew it that very same blonde-haired woman sauntered her way, her footsteps surprisingly soft in those boots. "Is this seat taken?" Even her voice was like honey, a gentle tone that caught Blake by surprise, her ears leaning towards it subconsciously. "I guess it is now..." It was the blonde's turn to become flustered, a hand rising to rub the back of her neck sheepishly, "Yang, Yang Xiao Long." Raising her hand, gracefully Blake shifted her shades to rest upon the top of her head once more, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yang, I'm Blake."

Day two of inktober. Did this one a little late but I did it. I decided to do something kind of simple, and I skipped over to day 3 prompts because I had a simpler idea for day three then day two, will maybe do day two some other day. The two prompts were "poison" & "black cat" I kind of just decided to simplify it to just "cat." So got the idea to mix Muk and Skitty. Did this in @bee_paper super deluxe mixed media sketchbook. #inktober #inktober2017 #beetober #beepaper #pokemon #ink

BeeTober 2023 Day 2 - Irreversible
It all happens too fast for Albedo to really understand. One moment he and Kaeya are watching Klee play around on one of the little islands in the lake around Mondstadt—fishblasting, much to Albedo’s chagrin and Kaeya’s apparent delight—and in the next moment the ground underneath them crumbles.
He has just enough presence of mind to throw himself towards Klee, safely caging her in his arms before the drop starts. And then nearly doesn’t stop.
Albedo only notices the ground suddenly rushing up to them because of Kaeya’s startled cry and the strange sickly yellow light that seems to come pouring out from somewhere. He thrusts his hand out, desperately hoping that his vision can somehow help them here and he seems to have done something because when they land it’s almost soft.
Almost.
He still makes a pained sound when Klee’s weight completely drops on him.
“Albedo? Klee?” Kaeya’s panicked voice rings out and Albedo would love to answer him, but he’s still a bit busy catching his breath. Klee has him covered though.
“Big brother Kaeya,” she cries out, clearly completely freaked out, and it doesn’t help when she digs her pointy knees into Albedo’s chest to get to Kaeya faster.
“Klee, are you hurt?” Albedo hears Kaeya’s frantic voice which is answered by a huge, heaving, sobbed “No.”
Albedo relaxes more firmly into the ground at hearing it.
“Albedo? Albedo, what about you?” Kaeya then asks, coming into view, Klee perched on his hips. “Are you hurt?”
“Why don’t you ever care for yourself first,” Albedo is the first thing out of Albedo’s mouth when he finds his voice again, because there’s blood streaming down Kaeya’s face and his stomach lurches unpleasantly at seeing it. “Let me see that.”
He sits up—not without some pain—and motions for Kaeya to sit down, so he can check the headwound more easily.
“It’s not too bad,” Kaeya says with a reassuring smile, but he subjects himself to Albedo’s fussing. “Just that cut and some aggravated ribs. Same as you, I’d guess,” he then says and reaches out to smooth his thumb over Albedo’s forehead.
Albedo should not be surprised to see it come away red, but he still is, anyhow.
“I didn’t even notice,” he admits and Kaeya gives him a lopsided smile.
“Thought so.” He then takes a moment to look up—and up and up and up—before he heaves out a sigh. “You really did save our lives there,” he then says to Albedo. “We would have died without you.”
“You would have come up with something,” Albedo immediately gives back, uncomfortable with the praise and knowing that nothing is too much for Kaeya.
“Thanks for the vote of confidence,” Kaeya says with a surprised blink, “but my powers are not nearly as useful here. Anyway. Do you know where we are?”
“Underneath Mondstadt?” Albedo tries and is prepared for the ‘No, duh’-kind of look Kaeya sends him.
“Where did the light go?” Klee speaks up for the first time, her face still mostly pressed into Kaeya’s shoulder.
“The light?”
“There was yellow light,” Albedo now remembers too. “It looked as if we were falling right into it, too.”
“Uhm,” Kaeya says as he looks around and Albedo notices with worry the way his face drains of colour.
“What?”
“See this?” Kaeya asks and points to their right. “That doesn’t look promising.”
What he’s pointing at looks like ancient script, still faintly glowing yellow, but growing dimmer by the second.
Albedo has seen a few things like this in his time with Gold and Kaeya is indeed right. It’s not promising.
“It’s a spell that’s been used up,” he says, pushing himself up to get closer. “We must have triggered it somehow.”
“Ooookay,” Kaeya breathes out. “Do you feel any different? Anything’s changed?”
“No. I feel the same as always. Klee?” Albedo asks next and is met with a tearful gaze. “Do you feel different? Anything strange? Does something hurt?”
“No,” she sniffles out. “Klee feels the same as always.”
“Okay, that’s good, that’s good,” Kaeya sighs out, clearly relieved to hear Klee say that.
“You think someone is looking for us?” Albedo asks, craning his head to find the hole they must have dropped down from.
“They should be. That must have been a pretty big explosion.”
“Klee made that explosion,” Klee proudly says and immediately shrinks when Albedo gives her a disappointed stare.
“You did,” Kaeya patiently tells her. “And it wasn’t a very good idea. We could have seriously gotten hurt. Maybe Jean is on to something when she says no fishblasting in the lake, mh?”
“Maybe,” Klee allows and then snuggles more firmly into Kaeya’s embrace, as if being cute is going to help.
It probably is, if Albedo is being honest.
“We should just wait here until they come get us,” Albedo decides. “My construct is not stable enough to lift us all the way up, anyway.”
“Fine by me, petal,” Kaeya says with a small smile and then sighs out. “Honestly, I didn’t think you could get any hotter, but that blood is somehow doing it for you.”
“Kaeya,” Albedo hisses out because this is more than inappropriate but Kaeya only laughs at him.
It’s clear he only said it to lighten the mood a bit too and while Albedo still can’t say he likes it, it was kind of a good plan because even Klee is chuckling by now.
“You’re an idiot,” Albedo says, aware of how unbearably fond his voice must sound and then—because he can and because maybe Kaeya needs to taste his own medicine once in a while—he says “But the same goes for you.”
It has the desired effect because Kaeya blinks at him for several long moments and by the time he gets himself back under control Albedo is already in the process of exploring the room. The spell seems to have run out completely now and Albedo crouches down in front of it, though he’s not quite able to make out what it says.
“Any clues?” Kaeya asks, having followed him over, Klee still on his hip.
“No. Do you want me to take her for a moment?”
“Nah, it’s fine,” Kaeya waves him off. “I got her. You’re more useful here anyway, I don’t understand a thing I see.”
“Me neither, to be honest,” he easily admits and then gets distracted when someone shouts down from above them.
It seems their rescue has arrived.
~*~*~
It takes a while for them to be brought up, for everything to be sorted out but eventually Albedo and Kaeya find themselves patched up in Jean’s office, Klee peacefully sleeping in her own bed for now.
“So. Any new and exciting developments?” Kaeya asks and Albedo wishes he hadn’t when Jean and Lisa share a look.
“Oh. That’s a yes then,” Kaeya mutters. “Wasn’t expecting that.”
“We figured out the spell that hit you,” Lisa says and Albedo frowns at her.
“How? The script was ancient.”
“I do happen to be an Akademiya graduate, I’ll gladly remind you,” she sniffs out. “And while I’m not from Haravatat, we had to take electives. It’s just coincident that I know exactly that script.”
“I hate coincidences,” Kaeya mutters under his breath and Albedo finds that he’ll have to agree on that one.
“Hit us, then,” Kaeya says with a sigh, clearly already expecting the worst.
“This spell prevents those it is used on from lying to each other. And it’s irreversible, as far as I understood it. I’ll of course consult the Akademiya but until then—” Lisa trails off with a shrug. “You won’t be able to lie to each other.”
“Oh,” Albedo gets out and eyes Kaeya. Kaeya, who has gone completely still at this side.
“Maybe you should take some time to let that sink in,” Jean awkwardly says, clearly having noticed Kaeya’s reaction as well. “You have a clean bill of health otherwise, so why don’t you go rest up for now?”
“Sure,” Albedo agrees and then has to nudge Kaeya to follow him out of the office.
“Come back with me. Klee is going to worry if you’re not there tomorrow,” Albedo says, not quite meeting Kaeya’s eyes, but he can tell that he’s still processing.
And Albedo can guess that it’s not anything good.
He knows how important lies are to Kaeya, knows that most of his work consists of that and Albedo isn’t sure how this is going to impact their relationship.
The track back to Albedo’s house is quiet, and even though Albedo is not the most adept at figuring out emotions, even he can tell that something is brewing. And it’s clearly not good.
Albedo endures the silence until they are safely inside the house, and then he decides that it’s enough.
“I’m sorry,” he starts with and almost flinches when Kaeya whirls around to him.
“What for?” he wants to know, but there’s a nervous energy to him that Albedo isn’t used to from him.
“I know that lying is an important part of—well, who you are,” Albedo says and hopes it’s not offending for Kaeya to hear. “I’m sorry that that is now no longer possible.”
His words seem to freeze Kaeya.
“You think I lie to you,” he finally gets out, which only makes Albedo frown.
“I mean—yes? Not that I—it’s not an accusation but I’ve come to the understanding that it’s just something you do. I see you lie to Jean every time you say you’re okay after all.”
“And have I ever said that to you?” Kaeya asks and there’s hurt in his voice.
Albedo instinctively wants to answer with an affirmative but the pain in Kaeya’s voice gives him pause. He mentally goes through his last interactions with Kaeya and realises that Kaeya never said that to him. Sometimes he avoids the question, yes, but usually Kaeya answers in a manner that makes Albedo believe that maybe he was telling the truth all along.
“But what about—the flirting? I mean, you don’t mean any of that, right?” Albedo tries next but then he sees how Kaeya’s expression shutters and he knows he fucked up again.
Kaeya opens his mouth as if he wants to say something, but nothing comes out.
“Fuck,” he eventually hisses. “It really doesn’t work.”
“You were about to lie to me,” Albedo accuses him, and now he is hurt that Kaeya even wanted to lie to him in the first place.
“And what’s it to you?” he bites out, though immediately clamps his mouth shut afterwards. “It’s not as if you mean any of it.”
It’s barely audible but Albedo picks up on it anyway.
“When I returned that compliment in the cave we were already under the affects of the spell. Is that what had you freeze up in Jean’s office? Knowing that I meant it?” he asks, and sometimes he thoroughly enjoys how his analytical mind can help him even in emotionally charged situations like this.
Kaeya had frozen right up when Lisa told them and Albedo had suspected it was a bad reaction. Maybe it hadn’t been after all.
Maybe all there is to it is hope.
“You can’t mean it,” Kaeya whispers. “You don’t. You said it yourself, you don’t get human relationships and least of all romantic ones.”
Albedo’s mouth drops open at that.
“That was during the first month I came here! I barely knew how to pretend to be human then!”
“So? It’s not as if anything has changed, right? You’re still not human.”
“I’m human enough to learn,” Albedo gives back. “And I’m definitely human enough to develop feelings for a fellow Captain.”
“Don’t hit on Eula, Amber is going to cry,” Kaeya immediately says, but there is a smile around his lips and a faint blush on his cheeks.
“Good thing I didn’t mean her, then,” Albedo says with an eyeroll and motions for Kaeya to come closer.
It’s almost dizzying how easily Kaeya follows his command.
“I meant you.” Albedo states it clearly, so that there can be no more misunderstandings between them and it’s a joy to see the briefly startled look on Kaeya’s face melt into something softer.
“Good,” he says, before he leans down and presses a soft kiss to Albedo’s lips.
“Are you not going to say it back?” Albedo asks when they part and is met with one of Kaeya’s mischievous smiles.
Albedo is never going to admit that he loves that smile best.
“Now where would be the fun in that?” Kaeya teasingly asks and presses another kiss to Albedo’s brow.
Albedo is pretty sure he has his answer right there, but still. Hearing it would be nice too.
“Evasion? A cheap tactic, Captain,” he scolds him and doesn’t melt right into the couch when Kaeya chuckles into his ear.
“Of course I feel the same about you Albedo,” he then whispers, sending a shiver down Albedo’s back. “I’m surprised you could ever doubt that.”
“You’ve been flirting an awful lot with everyone,” Albedo reminds him and now he expects the kiss that’s dropped to his cheek.
“But I only mean it with you,” Kaeya admits and the knowledge that it’s the truth settles warm and comforting in Albedo’s chest.
Exactly like it should be.

Routines
After seeing @blake-belladonna-defence-force post a list of prompts regarding Beetober I just had to have my hand at the ideas for the day of the week I post and any others I can fit in. Just to mention her work is phenomenal, some of the best Bumbleby fics I have ever read.
Summary: Day 1 - Inn.
The wind howled as the rain poured unforgivingly from the heavens above, drenching every surface within reach. Unfortunately, neither Blake nor Yang was exempt from this. Scurrying through the deluge with only the blonde's bomber jacket for cover, they made a beeline towards the warmly lit inn only a few hundred yards away. Together they practically collapsed through the door, a pair of sopping wet messes which quickly caught the attention of the innkeeper. Regardless Yang couldn't help but ding the bell on the counter, drawing a muffled laugh from the feline faunus resting against her side.
Following a quick, wordless exchange, the two exhausted women cracked open the door to their room. Effortlessly they weaved around each other, with stolen glances and gentle touches thrown into the mix. Neither could deny how addicting the electrifying contact was and if the furious blushes were anything to go by, both clearly enjoyed the to and fro.
Nestling under the sheets with practised ease, both women turned to face each other. Limbs became entwined to the point that it wasn't discernible as to where one began and the other ended. As their foreheads met, Blake's molten amber gaze locked onto pools of mesmerising lilac, so bewitching that she couldn't tear her eyes away. Eventually, in the light of the moon, she shifted her line of sight to the freckles that dotted the landscape that was the bridge of Yang's nose and cheeks. If she were given hours, Blake was confident that she could map out the delicate constellations that happened to align on those rosy red cheeks.
As her gaze dropped even lower to the bow of Yang's plump lips, Blake's heart began to quicken, and restraint was no longer in question. Closing the distance, so there was only a matter of centimetres left, the two allowed their breath to mingle. Watching as lilac eyes fluttered shut, a pair of lips pressed against her own. The faunus' ears perked up before relaxing as their owner melted into the kiss, which was only deepened as Blake tangled her fingers into the blonde's untameable locks. In response, a hand made it's way to her cheek, cupping it as though she was the most precious thing in the world.
Once the need for oxygen weighed on their minds, they pulled back ever so slightly. Each inhalation was that much deeper, coming out in puffs that fanned across the other. With their nightly routine coming to a close, there was only one thing left to do. A lazy smirk crossed Yang's lips as she beckoned her partner closer; happily, Blake tucked her head under the blonde's chin, allowing her ears to graze the sensitive skin there. Hearing the steady beat of Yang's heart was enough to lull her to sleep, but not before murmuring those three words to her partner. As always she received a reply, words laced with affection and affirmation only Yang could provide.
