It was a terrible experience and I’m blessed to be recovered from it in a short amount of time. Really thankful of those who have been there. You guys know who you are, love you guys to the moon and back. 🤍🤍🤍 I have never felt so helpless in my whole life. Imagined being so sick and not even knowing if conditions will accelerate further yet put on constant anxiety right before your annual leave. I’m posting this as a reminder for myself, I’ll never let myself get this sick again, I’ll protect myself at all cost from now on. I don’t care if anyone want to laugh about it, because I’m the only suffering after that, they can laugh however much they like. Reason being, it really took a toll on my health during this holiday, I’m constantly dizzy now, I’ve developed eczema somehow, I felt nausea most of the time. I completely dislike the state I’m in. So next time, I’ll steer clear and keep a far distance if I see someone is unwell. I realized only myself can understand the suffering, the carrier will not be empathetic about what I’m going through. The Morning After

Im wanting to document an incident in my history depicting the morning after a particular house party that really changed my views on drinking culture and the behaviour of youth in social gatherings.

My story is about a house party that me and my friends threw in our last year of high school. It was supposed to be an average gathering of 100 or so people but early in the night we quickly realised that word spread fast and we were looking at 500 people attending, a lot of whom were underage. Trying to control the situation to the best of our ability, the police ultimately got involved, forcing everyone out of the house and blockading the whole cul-de-sac. Good friends of mine were arrested, teenagers were manhandled and others had to be carried out by ambulance. The morning after was when everything kinda hit me and it really made me rethink my position on drinking and the “party” lifestyle.

I want to document that ‘morning after’ and how the high only lasts so long before you're left alone with your own intrusive thoughts. I want to showcase how living that kinda life isn’t always the ideal.

I want it to be shot in the context where we know this is being filmed the morning after a party. To do this i’ll have to create a scene that depicts an environment where drinking and partying was evident e.g. bottles on the floor, untidy surroundings, expressions of regret. In the midst of this chaotic environment, I want to develop a sense of serenity and tranquility through the simple gestures of ‘restarting’. Common examples of our regular use of restarting are sleeping, showering, eating, exercising basically any daily tasks that involve repetition and that are needed to properly start your day.

Simple Terms: This video will depict one person getting ready and dressed (showering, breakfast, smoking a cigarette etc) whilst navigating a house that clearly hosted a party. I want the actor to be beat up, bloody nose and almost on the verge of tears but holding a cold/dead look in his eyes.

Z-Library Was a Lifeline for Students on Shoestring Budgets

The popular website offered pirated textbooks and academic papers—until the feds shut it down.

Imagine you’re able to download any book for free, anywhere in the world.

The good news is that several such websites exist. The bad news is that they are, of course, illegal—they’re filled with pirated volumes. Recently, Z-library, one of the largest, went offline, and feds in the U.S. seem to beresponsible.

While there are other ways to access pirated materials, Z-library is especially popular with college students and academics for several reasons. Now, the shutdown has left many students, particularly in the global south, scrambling for access to research and educational materials.

For Giir Joseph Henry, a 21-year-old medical student in South Sudan, Z-library was a crucial resource for accessing medical textbooks includingGray’s Anatomy: The Anatomical Basis of Clinical Practice, which is widely regarded as the bible of human anatomy.* Not everyone is able to afford textbooks likeGray’s Anatomy, says Henry, “because they are really expensive.” The book easily costs up to$200, plus shipping costs.

Henry says he doesn’t have any real access to public libraries from which to borrow books. In fact, the first public library in South Sudan was established in 2019. Even if he were able find the textbook in a library, the number of copies typically pales in comparison with the number of students who need to use it, he points out. There can be “a ratio of 135 students to one book,” he says. With Z-library, Henry says all he needed to download the book was 100 MB of free space on his device.
