Bestial? Whoever coined that term has neither understood what an animal is nor what the spirit is. Somehow sexuality had always been seen as a taboo and very often as the opposite polar of spirituality. It is such an absurd notion to see the two as contradictory forces. It is so saddening to see that the body has been reduced to a mere instrument. Reality is totally different. When our souls were brought into existence, there was an innate longing for it to feel more intensely, to have something to hold on to, to show, to express, to find a vent for all that it carried within but it couldn't. Our souls were pure essence, no matter. It was there and it wasn't anything tangible. That's when the body was created. In other words, the existence of our body is the deepest prayer of our soul. It longed for something to clench on, something to lean on, something to hold on, something to touch, something to entwine around, something to blend into. Our body is our soul's greatest quest and yet we have underplayed its role. How impoverished our ideas have become of this divine form that has been gifted to us - from the tiniest eye lashes to the most intricate organs of our body - its the direct result of our soul's rawest yearning. We can't in any manner call it bestial to desire another human. We can't in manner reduce our thirst for intimacy as anything lowly. These are divine feelings ingrained in us as our natural disposition. It is as ancient as the soul itself. The very design of our bodies have been in such a fashion as to intertwine with another being, look at the very fingers, how the gaps between each perfectly fits into another set of human fingers when closely held. I would deny with all my might that this isn't bestial - this deep inner longing for physical intimacy - it is purely & completely spiritual...
