The Beyonder is that “friend” who can’t stop making offensive jokes or playing mean-spirited pranks on people and who responds to criticism with “You’re too sensitive, why are you so triggered, no one has a sense of humor anymore”, etc. And then they can’t figure out why no one wants to hang out and everyone blocked them.
There is an explanation, if not an excuse, for the Beyonder’s actions: he genuinely doesn’t know any better. He came here to study humanity, and he barely understands human food, let alone human emotions. Furthermore, he doesn’t get that actions have consequences since his powers usually let him wriggle out of responsibility for the damage he causes.
I think the Beyonder genuinely wants to be Lunella’s friend, if only because he considers her one of the few entities who’s on his level. But again, he plays too much. He can’t even do Lunella a simple kindness like getting her back home without turning it into a joke… one she doesn’t appreciate.
As of the end of the “Wish-tar” ep, it looks like Beyonder’s burned that bridge. Lunella realizes she’s hurt his feelings and she feels badly about it. But can you blame her for sending him away?
I wonder if whatever entity sent the Beyonder to Earth intended for a disappointment like this to be part of his “research”, to have the experience of breaking something he can’t immediately fix.

It’s the Disney executives who are obsessed with live-action remakes and corporate execs are hardly what one would call “human”.

Did some sketches of The Beyonder from Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Loved their version of the character. Super awesome and the singing and music killed it!

We want to start talking about our more "out there" experiences on here but we often struggle to articulate them. Or we can articulate, but we don't have the time to sit and write it all out lol
But like. One reason our system exists because several funky little slime mold aliens, horrendously unethical scientific experiment subjects, abominations of nature, and more got put on a spaceship and jettisoned into a black hole. Then the black hole said, "hmm, that's great, but because my consumption is unending, I need you to get me more of that tasty, tasty cosmic data". And so it took all of our information, mixed us up a bit, wove freaky space mycelium into our bodies, buried us in a forest suspended in a psuedo-conscious state between life and death, and stuck us deep inside the mind of a human child.
Oh yeah and we're all part of this incomprehensibly large cosmic configuration box that spans across multiple realities and contains beings that preach the teachings of the Tree of Death

Watching Moon Girl season 2 with my brother. First: watch this show. This is a command. Second: Spoilers Below.
I knew the show had gone into dark and heavy territory in season 1 but holy hell, I wasn't expecting that.
The show's version of Molecule Man is cool enough. Not my favorite, but I like how he's similar to Beyonder (what with his comic origin and whatnot). He felt like a real, genuine threat. I like that the part that's usually reserved for Lunella to win (or at least kick some ass) is instead here a song about how she's not good enough as she is violently beaten down and nearly killed.
I like the trauma plot so far. She's faced being overpowered like that before, but usually it's from Beyonder who just has her entertain him until he decides he's done and then leaves. She's never faced someone with his power who's actually trying to kill her before.
I also like the effect it has on Casey, giving her issues with being left behind and causing her to be clingy and overwhelming. I like how Mimi clearly sees something is going on but doesn't wanna pressure it.
I quite enjoyed her little friendship with Beyonder. How they help each other up, that she teaches him braids, that he still wanted to test the rocket, and that when she began to panic he just snapped her back.
Oh and also
