Let's say his family visits him eight times-- this time with the bracelet.

-> Maybe one time out of eight, usually less, Donnie will not be able to recognize them and will treat them as intruders, driving them off. There are occasions when he disregards the message of the bracelet or forgets it too quickly to be helpful.

-> Two times out of eight, Donnie will be able to recognize them enough to not view them as threats, but will not be able to organically recall any further details about them. He is confused and frustrated. He recognizes something is wrong, and can comprehend the research materials he's reading, but no actual memories are being pinged in his brain, leaving him in a very frightening, bizarre, uncanny-valley sort of space. He has to repeatedly reference notes and journals to try to puzzle the identities of his family together, which is upsetting and embarrassing. Days like these focus on providing comfort and support to Donnie, but the context that his research board and bracelet provide does make this easier to manage now.

-> One time out of the eight, Donnie will be able to recognize his family but struggles to comprehend his current situation or recall details surrounding it, though he recognizes something is wrong. He knows that Raph is here, and he remembers Raph fully, but has a difficult time processing why they're here at the lake instead of being at home; it's just not sinking in for him. Things in his brain are not matching up, and he is confused and frustrated. His family will have to re-explain to him what's going on, typically multiple times. Days like these focus on providing comfort and support to Donnie, but the jumpstart that the research and bracelet provide often makes this process much easier.

-> One time out of eight, Donnie will be able to recognize his family enough to not view them as threats, but will not always be able to recall further details about them. He's not able to fully process that anything is wrong unless it's explained to him, (usually more than once,) but even then it seems to overall elude him and not fully sink in. He will happily spend the day showing his lake off to his family, dancing with them, etc. His bracelet and research board help, but on days like these he often seems unable to fully retain this information throughout the day. These days are usually pretty frustrating for his family, but are overall lower-stress for Donnie, at least. False memories are common on these days.

-> Three times out of eight, Donnie is able to both recognize his family and recall details about their current situation. He remembers the family members who are currently with them, and sometimes even those who are absent, and understands that he is currently being affected by magick that manipulates his memory and patterns of thinking.

Overall, the bracelet has improved the situation. The family has to take care to try to be present as much as possible, however, as receiving this information from the bracelet and research board can sometimes be very scary or disorientating, and they've found that having someone around either during this process or immediately after is very important. Typically, if Donnie wakes up, receives the message from his bracelet, inspects the research board, and waits for the promised family to arrive... and then they don't, he'll panic and quickly lose trust in the information. He may react negatively to any family members once they do show up. Swanatello overall tends to do poorly when left alone, they've discovered.

Saruhiko being hesitant to grow closer to Yata again because of a lingering feeling that it'll all happen again and maybe even worse than before?

I could see this happening, especially if things start to change in their relationship. Like Fushimi is managing to keep it together and stop worrying about things breaking again while he and Yata rekindle their friendship but then he starts having romantic feelings and now suddenly it’s like wait no stop emergency emergency. Maybe Yata even ends up confessing and they’re both happy for a while — but an actual relationship involves a lot of ups and downs, and Fushimi is very much not ready to recognize that those downs are natural and not a reason to immediately shut down. 

Like I could see after their first fight, say it’s something silly and they end up making up afterward so Yata’s happy and everything’s good. But Fushimi can’t stop obsessively turning the whole thing over in his head, the things he said in the heat of the moment, the way his heart suddenly started pounding harder when Yata looked upset. He tells himself not to think about it, it’s solved already after all, but then the next mild disagreement rears its ugly head and Fushimi’s feeling uneasy and nervous again. I could see him pulling away from Yata a little, like suddenly he has to work more hours and he doesn’t have time for dates or things, he doesn’t even really stop by the bar anymore. Fushimi knows he’s ignoring Yata and that it won’t end well but at the same time he can’t help but feel like maybe he was wrong after all, maybe everything really will break and what if this time it’s worse, what if Yata never wants to see him again.

Of course this time Yata is a little more ready for things, and has learned better than to just assume things and get angry without understanding. I imagine he would corner Fushimi at some point and get the truth out of him, reminding him that Fushimi did promise to say things in a way an idiot can understand and Yata is right here listening so say it again, even if he thinks Yata won’t want to hear it keep saying it. Fushimi being Fushimi he tries to deflect but Yata’s already been through this once and he’s not willing to give up easily this time, I think he would be firm until Fushimi admits the issue. Once Fushimi mutters out ‘what if…it’s worse this time, when I ruin things’ Yata just sighs and grabs him, pulling him close as he’s like it won’t be, I’m not gonna let it be worse, and you have to believe in me for once.

yes yes yes the guilt would be so strong.... of course, being with ollie is romantic and sweet and makes her feel bubbly and so on. like, who wouldn't feel fluttery when being showered in love and affection like ollie is doing to her? but it's just not the same, and she just doesn't know what to do. like you said, it's a comfortable situation and she knows that she should be so so happy, but it all just feels forced for her... she's liking the idea of being with ollie more than she actually likes him :( and she doesn't want to be stringing him along and using him to get over paul, and she knows that she's hurting him, but she wants to give it an honest attempt and see where they could actually go... and ollie is trying so hard and doing everything he can, but it's just never enough :(

Sorry maybe it’ s because I like characterizing The Emperor as a fool , but the longer I mull it over , his plan with Giilvas was doomed to fail .

Like . Giilvas cannot get rid of the fact he loved his sweetheart . They loved each other for as long as they could , and he’ ll always mourn his loss . But Giilvas , especially at his age now , knew he would move on . There was no way around that . Besides , the fact that he’ s in a pact with a Hag now is because of the choices his sweetheart made years ago , without warning him at all about it . He doesn’ t hate him , but he cannot forgive that fact at all

I like to think the Emperor chose that appearance because of the sheer amount of emotions attached and maybe a ill placed hope that the positive would outweigh any negatives , old love never dies , we’ re both mature now and can look back on ourselves and laugh sort of mentality , but it would never work .

One side of Giilvas’ life after was that he started hunting down people in hag pacts to break them and deal with the hags once he came to terms with what happened when he was younger . The way he moved on was to make sure no one could put anyone in a similar situation as himself , as the unaccounted consequences of making a hag deal .

The Emperor overlooked this fact , that Giilvas still holds some anger at that happened and , by extension , his sweetheart . Believing that maybe , since the tales surrounding Giilvas were so strange and different and hard to track between truth and lie , that maybe the ones about hag hunting were false . The lack of companionship that Giilvas had might make him more susceptible to his plan .

It was the initial shock of seeing him appear in his dreams mixed with a more recent belief that Giilvas actually caused his death that made him susceptible to the Emperor in the first place . It worked for the first bit ! It really did ! But i honestly think the Emperor leaving the prism post Ketheric fight was the first step in the collapse of the plan .

The fact that , suddenly , he has broken that gap between dream and life . He was no longer a strange dream Giilvas had on occasion , no longer a message told to him in however his mind thought to interpret it . Now , he had being . And now , he was more than Giilvas’ sleeping mind pulling at old memories .

Even if the Emperor didn’ t drop the disguise , Giilvas would have put all his barriers up . The last time his sweetheart tried to do something to help the both of them , going behind Giilvas’ back to do so and going against his wishes , led to one of them dying and one of them trapped in a pact . He would not trust the Emperor at all , knowing he could access the physical plane and do what he wants . Who would want a repeat of the past ?

usually i don't have any problem not thinking about work when i'm not getting paid to do so, but i made a big mistake earlier this week and spent five hours today dealing with the fallout and still have not managed to resolve it, and when i clocked out it was actually with this vague dread about leaving it unsolved instead of relief that it's finally the weekend. like it's bad that it's the weekend because it means i have to stop working on it?? wow. gross.

#it's interesting because it's 1) a pretty bad mistake and 2) not the end of the world. and in the past when i have done something #for which both of those things are true i've like waaaay spiraled far outside of what is reasonable and proportionate #and just really beat myself up about it. and this time i'm not at all. i'm just like well that was dumb and the consequences are #unfortunate and i really wish i had made different choices before this. but i don't have any control over that so there's no use #crying over it. all i can do is take responsibility‚ take steps to prevent it in the future‚ and move forward #so that's what i'm doing. which strikes me as very healthy and a big step up from what i used to do #however i keep having to quash the impulse to open my work email to see if there have been any developments #which is CRAZY like i've always thought of that as workaholic behavior from which i am shielded on account of having #excellent work-non work separation but I GUESS NOT

!!RWBY V9, Ep 7 spoilers!!

So I just want to talk about this comparison really quick since I’ve seen it/similar discussion going around (ie: her being reacting the same to Ruby as she has to Adam in the past), but–

Let’s talk about the body language here real quick. There’s some similarities here, yes, but some key differences as well.

First, let’s analyze the shot on the right. She’s hunched in on herself, holding herself (both arms), ears folded down, eyes narrowed a bit and brows are furrowed. This shot is from an earlier scene involving Adam, so she’s clearly uncomfortable, scared, etc.

Now, the shot on the left from this week’s episode. She’s displaying some similar body language, yes, but let’s take a better look. She’s *NOT* fully guarded here, just half. She’s hunched over a bit and her ears are folded down, yes.

But the first key difference is that she’s only holding the one arm. Then there’s her brows– they aren’t furrowed, they’re lifted. And her eyes don’t seem narrowed at all.

Blake isn’t afraid of Ruby here like she was with Adam. She’s CONCERNED, and perhaps uncertain. And definitely a bit uncomfortable– nobody is comfortable in situations like what went down in this episode– but she isn’t afraid of Ruby.
