Winter visitor (by: My Garden of Eve)
We had a little snow the other day and it was such a pretty day to capture this beautiful male cardinal enjoying a peanut split.

Note
are birdfeeders bad
They’re not generally harmful if that is what you’re asking, with some caveats. They need to be safe for birds to browse, which means not easily accessible by cats, and no bushes or anything by them where a cat could lie in wait. You also need are regularly clean and restock them, removing old food and cleaning with natural products to avoid disease or parasites. They also need to be stocked with appropriate and high quality seeds and grains.
There are concerns that feeders may alter migration behaviour because of increased food sources in the winter, but when weighed against the loss of food sources through habitat destruction, many birds rely on bird feeders and shelters created by humans in order to survive.
If you can properly place bird feeders, watering stations or bird they it can be a great way to boost your own garden eco-system.

Birdfeeders In The Snow
This morning I woke up to see about six inches of snow on the plants and trees surrounding my patio, but the temperature has been hovering around zero Celcius for a couple of hours and now the snow is melting. The seed birdfeeder and the hummingbird feeder needed a little snow removal, but I left the syrup because it wasn’t frozen. (For the last couple of days I have had to bring it indoors to…

Someone takes his bird feeding very seriously. When 2 of the feeders broke, there was a pile of feed landing on the ground. So he asked repeatedly for new feeders. This morning was the breaking point…I was woken with breakfast in bed including oj and a cup of coffee, sending me off to work to earn money to buy new feeders. Yup, got to support his hobby. #birdfeeders #birdfeed #birdwatching #birdseed #wildliferefuge #hobby #tbi #autism #rtr https://www.instagram.com/p/CrWu1OTL4GF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Woodpeckers at My Birdfeeders
A male Red-bellied Woodpecker at the suet feeder. Photo by Bruce Stambaugh It’s been a slow winter for feeding birds. Both the number of birds and the kind of species coming to my birdfeeders are down. I have my suspicions, but I’m not exactly sure why. It could be the two roaming black cats that wait stealthily for lunch. Or, it could be the loss of cover. My neighbor cut down two mature trees…

Rose Breasted Grosbeak (by: Garden of Eve)
Wow, I just spotted 2 juvenile Rose Breasted Grosbeaks. This is really special because I have never seen young ones and I have only seen them in the spring on their way up north. They stop by for only like 3 days a year. I’ve never seen them in the fall on their way south. These birds migrate to Mexico (lucky guys). I grabbed a quick picture.

Did you know that today is bird day? Birds are so lovely to look at, let's go and look at lovely birds for today and find that one bird that stands out to you. You can even take pictures of them. You can also draw them, research them, or look into getting a bird feeder!

On this week’s Roundabout Roundup, Terri's Country Music Minute brings us Morgan Wallen's latest, "One Thing at a Time." Nicole's resting easy on a new King Koil mattress, and Catherine's becoming a bird-watcher thanks to her suet log bird feeder (although hers is made from an actual log, not a log-like resin like the one linked). Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.
