biography: Before the glam, Davon lived a simple life. He never knew his mother and was stated to be born after his father and step mother had separated for a time. Davon’s birth mom was explained to have been decreased and when his father reconciled with his estranged wife, Davon was taken in and treated equally as part of the family that also consisted of two older siblings.

He was raised in Camino, California where his father was the owner of an orchard ranch that had been in the family for generations. Small town, surrounded by wilderness, Davon pulled his weight in helping around the orchards. His hobbies were fairly rustic when he was pulled along with his father and older brother on camping trips, fishing and hunting. He had an uncanny affinity with a bow and arrow as he discovered when he took up archery in middle school; although he preferred not to use his skills for the sport of game. He actually liked a lot of the animals in the nearby forests and they also loved him…for reasons he'd later discover.

While he was raised like a farm boy, it wasn't what he wanted out of life. He attended college and actually studied pre-med after his parents made it abundantly clear that if he wasn't interested in the orchard business, they wanted a doctor. He tried to comply; except he also always enjoyed writing lyrics, especially late at night when having deep conversation with the moon. He also loved performing covers of popular songs and posting them online. It eventually helped him get scouted by a talent agency and thus he began a diverged path from nursing people's health to rising stardom. 

He took on the moniker of ‘Lunatique’ when he performed his cover of Crazy in Love conceptualized with the insanity from a full moon in his music video that blew up to be one of his biggest vids. His first album was a moderate success and he gained some traction touring with bigger stars as their opening act. Though it seemed even that wasn't his true calling in life…

Suddenly he's ripped from the world of only mortals and is associated with creatures and deities of myth. Go figure.

Fashion Tribute - in episode 85, we are first introduced to Black Lady, or Wicked Lady, an evil, sexy, angsty teen version of Chibiusa. Black Lady's iconic slinky black dress with high slits was at least partially inspired by the look in a Yves Saint Laurent Opium Perfume print ad from 1994 featuring Kate Moss.

I like both looks - but I think Black Lady's ensemble wins. There's something about the chiffon top and rhinestone dog collar that pushes it over the edge - some might say it's very Hot Topic. 😉🖤 Who do you think wore it better?

Hot takes on every Sailor Moon Season

Sailor Stars is exceptionally awesome and in the conversation for the actual best season of the show. The main reason it isn’t is because most english language fans discovered it later in life thus it couldn’t compete with their nostalgia for the earlier seasons.

SuperS is not as bad as the fandom makes it out to be. There are some standout episodes in the first half and the second half is a huge improvement, ending with a solid finale.

Sailor Moon S is good but overrated and by no means clearly the best season of the show. It has major strengths that for sure put it in the conversation for best season, but the Outer’s attitude and the central ideological conflict of the season have major flaws that get overlooked mostly because the novelty/cool factor the Outers bring to season.

Sailor Moon R is good and has never deserved the negativity it has received. The Hell Tree arc is not filler and lets us see Usagi and Mamoru fall in love arguably more organically than in the prior season. The Spectre Sisters are the greatest foils the Inner Senshi ever had in the show. Chibi-Usa’s not as much of a brat as people make her out to be and in fact she and Usagi have a proper arc to their relationship going from out-and-out antagonistic to embracing one another as mother and daughter. The break up was a highly effective emotional GUT punch and the consequent arc played into the central theme of the season, which was Usagi and Mamoru’s future together. 

Sailor Moon Classic...has 100% the best finale of any season. Tightly written, equal parts inspiring and tragic, with a laser focus upon Usagi herself whilst giving every major character a chance to shine, even Queen Beryl and Luna. By contrast every other finale divides attention between Usagi and other characters and/or sidelines the Inners, the Outers, etc.
