Virgil Hawkins a.k.a. Static
Another one of the first characters created in Milestone comics, I think it’s safe to say Static is one of the more well known Dakotaverse characters. Static has shown up in a number of different animated shows and movies, but was most well known from his 2000 show Static Shock.

Monica Rambeau a.k.a. Spectrum
The second person to hold the Captain Marvel Title (even before Carol Danvers) Monica was introduced in The Amazing Spider-man in 1982. Monica has held a number of superhero names, including Photon and Pulsar. While monica has appeared in a number of comics, she has not yet had her own title. But she has also made an appearance in Marvel’s live action show Wandavision, and appeared as a child in the Captain Marvel Movie.

17 black inventors who changed the tech world
February may be Black History Month, but in reality, we should always celebrate the inventors who changed the world with their ideas, hard work, and dedication. Below, you’ll find just a few of the influential people who made a giant impact on the technology field. Next time you turn on your lights, answer a call, hop on social media, or order something online, keep in mind how one of these…

Rhodey fans got peeved in 2018 when Kabam treated Norman’s Dark Avengers Iron Patriot like he was in the movies, by putting him in the Cinematic Crystals.
War Machine had two Iron Patriot iterations in the MCU. Do either belong in MCOC?
For African American History month I thought I make a small tribute piece to one of my favorite cartoon creators Ian Jones-Quartey finger gunning a character he both created and voiced Radicles. Ian is a great cartoonist and the show Ok Ko Let’s be heroes was just as amazing, and he earned every bit of praise. So whatever Ian is doing now may he know I see him as one of my many heroes and inspirations just like all the others being admired.

*Not all these characters are clearly or always portrayed as black.
Black Racer (Ariana Saddiqi) is sometimes published as a blonde white lady and sometimes a black woman. This is apparently not something to do with the character, and a mere inconsistency with the publisher.
Whiz Kid is a dark-skinned girl with straight, black hair who appears in some art to be African-American, but is not clearly defined as such.
Nothing about MCOC, just happened to explain #MonicaRambeau to some mainstream people freaking out about #WandaVision @wandavision
I’d love to see her in @MarvelChampions
You can vote for that here
Recent rank: 111th most-wanted MCOC champ
WHIZ KID
A young (apparently black) woman from Philadelphia with speed powers, part of the Initiative, served as Whiz Kid on the Liberteens (a rehash of Whizzer of the Liberty Legion).
Should she be in a future tournament @McocSociety?

This blog post contains references that could spoil parts of WandaVision Season 1 Episode 7 (from Friday, February 19, 2021).
On Monday February 22, 2021 the song “Agatha All Along,” from WandaVision episode 7, caught viral fire as people set it and its remix to various videos of people dancing (including Robert Downey, Jr., and of course Bey).
The remix came from Leland Philpot, who created trap hip-hop version (it slaps), prompting me to suggest, hey what if he were the Hypno Hustler? The colors are even right!
A z-lister Spider-Man foe, the Hypno Hustler is Antoine Delsoin, once an attempted crimefighter, a black man who himself became a criminal and a recurring character among the also-ran Marvel supervillain scene, sometimes appearing at the Bar With No Name and other supervillains’ funerals.
His super-powers come from technology that through visual and musical (so, auditory) effects can hypnotize and elicit illusions. He also has some offensive weaponry like boot spikes, gas, and an electrical shock belt. His technology has been enhanced by the Tinkerer. He works in conjunction with the Mercy Killers, a three-woman singing group whose hypnotic singing is enhanced by the Hypno Hustler’s technology. Read more here.
Clearly, Leland has talent, and Kabam might be able to set up a collaboration with him more easily than someone who’s got more than 1100 Twitter followers.
We had previously discussed the collaboration of some mobile games with real-life musical artists to create music for fictional superpowered musicians like Delsoin, Dazzler, Luna Snow, Spider-Punk, and others.
Really this was just a fun joke. But who knows? Hairbrained ideas sometimes have teeth!
