Janet Van Dyne (a.k.a Wasp) is inside the prison morgue, investigating the mysterious deaths of the prisoners - Whirlwind, Griffin, Piledriver, Anaconda, Icemaster and Quicksand. While Janet and the guardsman are too busy discussing with each other, they did not notice that Quicksand and the prisoners (except Whirlwind) are not dead, they had been playing possum. Quicksand wakes up to knock out the guardsman. The fight breaks out in the morgue until Whirlwind gets up but it's not really Whirlwind, someone else is possessing Whirlwind's body. Then, the fight between Janet (and now, Not-Whirlwind), and the prisoners continue in the morgue. Janet and Not-Whirlwind are seemingly outnumbered when more guards come into the room to subdue the prisoners. Before the guard could take him, the Not-Whirlwind claims that he doesn't know Janet and he calls himself Victor Shade.

For the @marvellfashion Valentine’s Day Event “Crush in Vogue” theme, my Marvel crush—Blanche “Blondie” Sitznski aka Anaconda of the Serpent Society! She has some fishy traits despite her overall snake theme, hence the gills on her throat and fins on her face, but whatever she is, she’s one big strong mama and I love her!
I deliberately went for making the dress kinda ugly, picking a way too loud green and making everything too matchy, etc., as I felt like that suited her. She strikes me as someone who isn’t too good at being “girly” or fashionable, but she’s gotten all dolled up for this big date and done her best and she’s really confident about it! Go her!

Obscure Marvel fancast of the day: Becca Swanson as Blanche “Blondie” Sitznski aka Anaconda! Originally a steel worker in Pittsburgh, Blanche later became a calistenics instructor at Taskmaster’s Academy, where she trained female supervillains in hand to hand combat. Perhaps this is why she was recruited by Roxxon Oil Company as a special agent for a special mission---to recover the powerful magical artifact known as The Serpent Crown from the bottom of the sea! To this end, the Roxxon Mutagenics Laboratory bio-modified her and three other people (the “Serpent Squad”) with gills and other adaptations that would allow them to survive at great depths. This ended up being far more visible in Blanche’s case that the others; she spots not only gills, but fins on the side of her cheeks and scales on her face and body. Each individual was also given individualized abilities, and a snake-themed code-name. In Blanche’s case, she was dubbed Anaconda, and her powers were superhuman strength, durability, and hyper-extendable adamantium-laced arms with which she could constrict and crush her foes. Anaconda and the others eventually left Roxxon, and one of them, Seth Voelker aka Sidewinder, founded “The Serpent Society”. The Serpent Society was a supervillain mercenary guild that provided its members with health insurance, pensions, better tools and medical care, etc. The only requisite to join was having a snake-themed codename. He invited his old teammates as its first members, including Anaconda. She accepted, and has been a stable member since. Anaconda, sometimes called Ana for short, has a tough, gruff manner, and answers every issue with her fists first. She’s got no head for math, by her own admission, but does love musicals and showtunes, especially Thoroughly Modern Mille!

I finished this a couple days ago and CAN’T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO POST IT! Anaconda taking a dip in the deep! She’s supposed to have JUST jumped in, hence her pose and the pattern in the water around her. I had a good time adding all the sponges and coral and anemones and such!

A messy colored sketch for MerMay today!  For this year’s MerMay, I decided to Marvel women who either are literally mermaids or just became mermaids temporarily at some point. In the case of Anaconda (blonde, Blanche Sitznski) and Black Mamba (black hair, Tanya Sealy) they received their powers from The Roxxon Corporation, and while they were given individualized abilities, they both were modified to be able to breath underwater via gill slits and withstand ocean pressure, temperatures, etc. So they’re sort of mermaids! Loosely.  It’s ok, the critters are just curious!
