Reactions to this chapter show me many don't actually understand Kashimo's character

That was Kashimo's perfect death. It was the whole reason they incarnated, to find someone more powerful than them, who would be worthy to kill them. Sukuna is exactly that person as Kashimo's gushing makes very clear. Kashimo does not want to grow old and die of leukaemia or whatever, they already did that. That's also why they saved their CT because it would have killed them no matter what, but back in the Edo era and before Sukuna reincarnated there was no need to use it because nobody could push them to that limit. Kashimo entered that match seeking out death. Gojo's death confirmed to them that using their CT was finally necessary and Sukuna the one worthy to kill them. It was short, but intense. Nothing about this is humiliating in Kashimo's eyes. Sukuna even indulged them in answering their questions about what it means to be the strongest and discussed their world view.

I would've liked one more chapter (and involvement of Hakari because he shows that Kashimo isn't as asocial as they like to think, kind of what Sukuna alludes to as well), but that was a good death for Kashimo and what their character was always gonna lead to. They didn't die without regrets, but they learned something in their death.

remnants of the pre-1975 version of NYC that was really working on providing a safety net and making it equitable are still visible here and there, like the free hotline you can call to get remotely evaluated and prescribed COVID anti-virals, which you can then pick up or have delivered completely free.

I, blessed with an array of extremely unavailable doctors, am very grateful for this because it means I managed to get an antiviral that lets me stay on all my regular meds within the 5-day window, and I can hopefully be less freaked about the possibility of this round of COVID lowering my baseline permanently.
