Leaks aren’t as bad as last time, when it comes to weird writing choices, at least from what we’ve gotten so far.

My only real complaint is Rumi continuing to get over the top maiming. From the pages I saw it wasn’t sexualized, which is nice, but it still seem a bit torture porny to me. I can’t really call it sexist though because Hori has been really into that kind of gore lately. I’m just not a fan of any character getting torn to pieces so graphicly unless they have some sort of regeneration, or they’re doing to themselves. Which is why I don’t care when Shigaraki, AfO or Dabi get hurt. 

Having her lose all her limbs but one and drag herself around with the help of BJ is a little much for me. It’s more then a bit horrifying and I wouldn’t have liked it if it happened to any of the Heroes. It just sucks more for Rumi because she already got trashed last fight, and didn't do all that much this time before getting her limbs ripped off. 

If she dies I will be really disappointed and it would be kind of sexist. Not because women can’t die or anything, but Hori already has a sad amount of women in his story to begin with, and out of those quite a few have died, especially Hero women. If Rumi dies, that’s three out of five Hero ladies dead (not counting background characters). It’s just sort of frustrating.

Re: overall tumblr top 10: I think it’s funny that my throwaway moodboards are often some of the most popular content on my blog. Things I’m just like ‘ooh I gotta make this’ are mixed in with requests, I think that’s interesting! Ms. Frizzle just blowing away the competition, that’s amazing and I love it. Nothing is even close to how popular she is, and she deserves it. Jack Skellington coming onto the list twice? Come through king, I would love to write a full fic in Halloweentown sometime. 

Generally, the more ‘alternative’ characters seem to get a lot more attention on my blog: The Pumpkin King, Morticia, Wybie, Sundrop and Moondrop... Tiana and Naveen really snuck up there though! 

Moving onto the more direct fic comparison: 

....well this made me realize that I never published my Sanders Sides fics from this blog on AO3, whoops 

Setting that aside, fics with angst and plot tend to do better on AO3, while fluffy stories do better on tumblr: Sugary Sweet doesn’t even hit my top 10 on AO3 and it’s one of the fluffiest fics I’ve ever written, coming in at #5 on the tumblr list 

On the other hand, Only Heaven I’ll Be Sent To is by far one of my best performing fics on AO3, but comes in at number 6 (tied with another fic) on tumblr, probably because it features a lot of action and gore alongside the fluffy agere elements, same for Restrained showing up on the AO3 top but not tumblr’s. 

My Harry Potter fics do way better on tumblr, which is interesting? Maybe Harry Potter fans are still reading their fics on independent forums? Or Harry Potter folks on AO3 don’t cross over much with the agere crowd. (Or maybe they’re just overloaded with /reader fics) I haven’t been actually into the HP community since around 2011 so I’m not sure what’s up there. 

Big shoutout to Class Outing for dominating the top of both lists: BNHA is such a big fandom that it makes sense, and I wrote that fic on @agere-fandom-time, which I think got more interaction than this blog: it seems like people are more comfortable interacting with a group-run blog, rather than an individual writer. Or maybe that’s a natural consequence of more writers putting out more consistent content, letting the blog get bigger. I’m not sure! Either way, even if I’m not into BNHA anymore, I feel like it’s a good piece of my writing, so I’m happy for it to be my top spot.

Not gonna lie, I spent a few hours trying to figure out Japan’s logistics in my mind. According to the BNHA wiki, only Todoroki, Bakugo and Midoriya were born in Musutafu, which is a fictional prefecture supposedly near Shizuoka. Besides them, only Jirou and Tokoyami live in Shizuoka. So, here is the problem: while the public transportation in Japan is good, it still is a big stretch to say that all UA students are able to commute to school-home everyday, especially when considering that the typical school day has a duration of at least 8.am till 4pm (which is the average school day without counting clubs, which aren’t so common at UA. However, if we take in consideration that the students are seen going home as the sun sets in the first season, just after the first combat lesson from All Might- early spring, going by the Japanese school calendar-, it's solid evidence that school days can go until roughly 6pm.).

Some of the first year students, like Shouji, live in Fukuoka, in the Kyushu region. The train(the public transportation train, not to be mistaken for the bullet train, which is too expensive to be taken on a regular basis) takes at least 5 hours to go from one city to the other. Kamakiri from 1-B is even worse, as he lives in Nagasaki. Just the trip from Nagasaki to Shizuoka takes approximately 7 hours by public transport and 5 by bullet train. 

Uraraka, the only student who gets explicitly confirmed to be living in an apartment without her parents, was born in the Mie prefecture. A quick google search confirms that a train ticket (the fastest method between car, bus and train) takes a bit more than 2 hours on the trip (quick fun fact:a Shinkansen pass with the duration of 7 days costs 50k yen, which roughly translates to 336 dollars!)

Here the bullshit gets worse: Iida, Hagakure, Sero, and Ojiro from 1-A, Shoda, Bondo and Kaibara from 1-B are all said to be born in Tokyo prefecture, and not a single one of them is mentioned to be living without their parents or in apartments closer to UA. Iida also implies that he still lives with his parents(before the dorms, of course). The trip from Tokyo to Shizuoka is said to take around 2 hours and approximately 20 minutes, so, unless every single one of them wakes up at least 5:40 am (not even counting the time it takes to eat breakfast, wear the uniform, exit the house and walk to the station), they won’t be able to make to UA at 8:00 am.

Not to mention, of course, that Iida canonically is a big nerd who always gets to school early, so-

Assuming the heroics classes are consistent and the students leave school around 6pm, and estimating a rough timing of 10 minutes to go to the train station, and another 10-minute walk to their homes:

6.pm + 10-minute walk + 2:20 of train ride + 10-minute walk = 8:40pm

(note: Musutafu is speculated to be in the eastern region of Shizuoka, having direct connection to the sea. It means it shares borders with Kanagawa, and potentially has a direct connection with Yamanashi. Tokyo is directly north of Kanagawa, so in theory, is one of the closest prefectures geographically. It can’t be actually confirmed due to Musutafu being a pure fictional location. The rest of the students, except for the ones that live in Aichi(Yanagi, Yaoyorozu and Asui) and Nagano, which also share a direct border with Shizuoka,)

In conclusion: unless at least 80% of the first years already live in Shizuoka (or Musutafu, actually), they would have less than 10 hours to sleep, study, train, interact with family and friends and take care of their basic necessities. 

BNHA doesn’t make sense. Honestly, what the fuck.

After about an hour of stumbling through his daycare in search of an escape (but he only gets more and more damaged), Sun begins to lose hope and finds somewhere he could hide. Trying his best to pull his creaking limbs in towards himself, he sits and waits for something to happen. Perhaps he won’t permanently shut if he just waits it out. Moon is quiet.

according to the song "Gaston" Gaston would eat "Four-dozen eggs every morning" four dozen is 48, and 48 x 7 is 336, so that's 336 eggs every week. now there's 52 weeks in a year, so 336 x 52 is 17,472 eggs a year. as an adult he now eats five dozen, so it's fairly safe to assume he stuck around the four dozen mark for quite a while, let's go with a decade. so in the timespan of about ten years as a child/teen Gaston ate at least (because remember, this is only counting breakfast) 174,720 eggs. when he became an older teen though, he probably would have increased his egg intake and would have gotten closer to his current five dozen, and to skip a few steps if we assume he's been eating five dozen eggs for about a decade as well, then that's 218,400, which when combined with the previous decade means that comes to a total of 393,120 eggs for breakfast in Gaston's lifetime (not counting when he was even younger and couldn't handle four dozen eggs)

imagine a "humans are space orcs" story where humans and aliens can't understand the other's language, and it's told from an alien's POV. however, the twist is the alien doesn't call humans "humans" nor do they ever specify their own species. the reader has no idea the MC is an alien, or that the human's a human until close to the end when they're able to communicate some and the human's like "i can't believe i'm one of the first humans to meet an alien"

the Truman Show is such a good movie. the attention to detail throughout the entire movie is just amazing! Marlon stocking the vending machine while talking to Truman, but then quickly taking them out when Truman's not looking. Truman needing to take vitamins because he's never been in the sun. all the funky camera angles, and how Meryl frequently smiles directly at them. the way all the "background characters" just act so plain weird! when Truman starts to realize something's up, and steps out of his routine, they all continue playing their parts even though in reality people would stare at the man running and shouting! if someone driving almost ran into someone who was being careless, they would hop out of the car and go what are you doing! people would grumble and complain that the bus wasn't working, not quickly get off the bus as if they were waiting for the announcement! the lack of headrests in the vehicles so they can get better camera angles. the way everything is just too crisp, and clean to be real. i just love this movie so much
