MRAs and advocates of male positivity will often use movies and magazine shoots of male celebrities with unusually muscular builds that ostensibly required dehydration as an example of the culture’s disregard for male body positivity.
Just to be clear, these examples are male power fantasies, but MRAs and the like will insist that they also sexually provoke women. Assuming that this is actually the case, and that these celebrities are aware, these men are anything but destitute. If the specific men brought up in these examples, Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman and the sort, had halfway decent financial skills, they would have been set for life years ago. And these men have agents who assist in all these activities, so these men are deliberately signing legally binding contracts to be in these movies and photos shoots in exchange for money they don’t need.
If these men are indeed aware that they are posing in ways that sexual provoke women, they are not passive victims. They are active exhibitionists, displaying highly disordered behavior that is two steps away from flashing one’s genitals. They need to cease this behavior immediately and take responsibility.

I was more 'gnc' in regards to shaving and makeup and clothes when my mother forced me to wax than some of the women who have called themselves feminists for 5, 10 years lmao.

So many thoughts on Aaron Bushnell
1. Even he acknowledges his sacrifice doesn’t compare to the suffering of Palestinians and so we mustn’t treat his action as worth more of a statement than those killed and/or fighting
2. By making his connection to the military a focus, he forces opponents to tread carefully for fear of disrespecting an institution that America holds above all others. Insult to his service would piss off even those who disagree with his actions
3. Despite his military path, his community involvement and protection and service rivals that of keyboard activists who wish to discredit him
4. Damn near every screenshot of his final facebook post by non-anarchist leftists and non-leftists crops out the circle A banner for his twitch. Even in death leftists who don’t like anarchism will remove the reference to it to suit their specific brand of leftism and claim his action as part of a larger “left”
5. You do not have to agree with the method to comprehend the action. It IS horrific, that is the point. If one horror does not shock you into action, another might. One that happens to a most (symbolically) coveted category of American
6. The military is highly worshipped in the US and yet it is an extremely predatory body. What circumstances led to his enlistment? Does his community good offset his role? Does his death? Can his death reignite the conversation for allowing servicemembers a way out? What do we do with “leftist” vets? How do we reconcile their positions past and present?
7. If this act horrifies you above anything else you’ve seen out of Palestine, why? What’s special about him? What’s unworthy about Palestinians to you? While you debate his sanity and his politics and his humanity, where are yours?

If its ok to ask; how do you feel about fat kinks? I havent seen any fat acceptance blogs talk abt it. /genq
I know it's a sore spot for a lot of fat liberationists (and yes, I'm quite familiar with why so please do not take to my inbox), I think people are scared to talk about it. personally, I think it is crucial that people with fat kinks are able to access fat liberation spaces so long as they leave the kink at the door. I say this not only because the majority of them are fat people, but because that community is steeped in a deep shame and feeling of brokenness for taking delight in fatness and/or weight gain, which perpetuates rampant fatphobia. and fat liberation is what will heal those wounds. I don't understand it when fat activists tell kinksters/fetishists/feedists, whatever you want to call them to stay out of the fat liberation movement. because what is the alternative? do you want them against the movement? that doesn't make sense at all. I think people are so uncomfortable, disgusted, or afraid of this community they don't understand, that they just wish they wouldn't exist. they aren't going away. kink is akin to sexuality, to identity, to queerness. I think what people really mean when they say feedists should stay out of fat lib is, "kink should stay within spaces designated for kink." we aren't talking about kink when it comes to who can belong in a movement, we are talking about people. it is wrong to equate every person who has a kink or a fetish to a predator. it causes very real harm to those people, because they internalize that message that their kink makes them a bad person who is inherently worthless, who has to hide. if feedists aren't welcome in fat liberation, they aren't welcome anywhere.
I think that people who love fat people, love feeding people, love their own fat bodies, who see their fattest selves as their most satisfying selves, would be natural allies to this movement once they find their way to it and feel safe and accepted here. I want to make it absolutely clear that ANYONE is welcome on this blog as long as they aren't harassing or harming anyone. so many of my followers and biggest supporters are kink blogs. some of my closest friends and fat liberationist allies are feedists. I know feedists who are way more educated and passionate about fat lib and body politics than most people I've met. I don’t wish for anyone to feel alienated on my blog - especially fellow fat folks and fellow fat allies. we are 100% FAT POSITIVE AND SEX POSITIVE on this blog, babey‼️
In fact I feel really glad when I see fat kink/feedism blogs engaging with my content bc it means that person is putting the work in to understand systemic fatphobia, how to be an ally to fat people (if they aren't fat themselves), but also healing their community through education and acceptance. and HOT TAKE, BUT: when it does happen?? when feedists aren't shrouded in internalized fatphobia, shame, and isolation, and instead start embracing this innate, powerful appreciation for fatness, it's literally so fucking beautiful? and so very queer?
choosing to gain weight on purpose as an act of self creation. because it feels Right for you. gaining weight to affirm the relationship you have with your body. getting fatter because you feel so much of your identity (even gender presentation!) is attached to your fat body. feeling sexiest when you're fat. someone else worshipping that about you. giving unlimited permission to nourish yourself and/or others - and taking carnal delight in it. releasing food rules and food guilt through centering pleasure. food and fatness as an erotic and sensory experience. finding feedist partners who also have this ingrained love of fatness that can't be replicated, partners who are willing and eager to support and adore your fat body, NOT merely tolerate it. reclaiming tropes used against you through kink, and turning a loving gaze inward. saying "fuck you" to the system and choosing to take up more space in a world that consistently tries to shrink you. never denying yourself pleasure even though everyone is telling you you don't deserve it. feedism is such an interesting facet of the endless spectrum of human sexuality and I think that once people in that community find liberation and heal their relationship to the kink, it can be one of the most radical forms of self acceptance and exercising complete bodily autonomy.
I already know that a love letter to feedism coming from a fat lib blog is gonna piss people off. I'm going to lose a lot of followers, I'm going to get a lot of hate. but. kink in general is SO demonized and SO misunderstood and as liberationists we should also be open to sexual liberation. so much of this discomfort around feedism comes from a lack of education and understanding about kink in general. feedism doesn't = fatphobia in the same way that bdsm doesn't = misogyny or abuse. quite the contrary, if practiced ethically, with informed consent. every community has assholes. especially when those communities are small, ostracized, and so young that there are next to zero resources for self acceptance, safety, education, and accountability. in fact, the assholes are the ones that you're going to SEE because every respectful person is staying away and out of your business. if you've been harassed by someone with a fat kink, that is so shitty and I'm sorry that happened to you. I know it happens a lot. try to remember that what you experienced was abuse, not kink.
what consenting individuals choose to do with their bodies is entirely their business and there is nothing wrong with kink. (and I will not stand for sex-negative, puritan bullshit in my inbox, thank you very much.)
reminder: fat pleasure is fat liberation.

no, but really, we need to talk about the casual objectification that has become the fallback discourse of the internet: if you're pretty and dressed nicely, you're a slut. and if you're even vaguely outside of their body standard, you're fucking disgusting.
too-frequently, people position sex workers as being "the problem". they sneer you're addicted to pornography, you don't know what a real woman looks like. but real women are in pornography. the real bodies on display are not the issue here: the issue is that other people feel extremely confident when commenting on someone's physique.
2000's super-thin is slowly worming its way back into the public ideal. recently i saw someone get told to "go for a run", despite the fact she was on the thinner side of average. not that it would ever be appropriate to say that: but it's kind of like sticker shock when you see it. people think that is fat? holy shit. do they just have no idea about things?
but what are you going to do about it? that's the problem, right. because chances are - you're a normal person. we can say normalize carrying fat on your body, but we are not the billion-dollar diet industry. we are not the billion-dollar fashion industry. we are just, like. people. who are trying to make content on the internet, without being treated shittily.
as someone who has been on both sides of things: you are treated better when you are thin and pretty. this is statistically correct. i am not saying that you cannot be bullied for being thin; i'm saying there are objective institutional biases against certain bodytypes. there are videos of men and women who lost weight all saying: i now know for a fact exactly how much worse you're treated. in the comments, some asshole inevitably says something akin to you deserved to be dehumanized when you were fat.
which means that ... the easiest thing to do is be pretty and thin. it is the path of least resistance, because of course it is, because any time you post a picture of yourself without a thigh gap, someone immediately comments something like you need to try a diet.
the other half is also dehumanizing though, huh, just in a different way. when i put on makeup and nice clothes, i am told i slept my way to the top as a professional. do you know how many women in STEM have told me they purposefully dress to "unimpress" because they already struggle to be taken seriously and if they're ever considered pretty - it for some reason takes away from their authority.
so they make it seem like it's your fault. you, existing in a body - it's your fault! if you didn't want shitty comments, don't have a body. they position us against each other like chess pieces; vying for male attention we don't even need.
and i can be an authority on this unless you think i'm fat and unattractive. when i am pretty and thin, i'm an activist. when i am just a normal person who makes a good point: i am immediately dismissed. nobody fucking believes you if you're not seen as attractive. you literally lose value. you cease to exist.
but the whole time, it feels like - is anyone actually grounded the fuck in reality? the line of "pretty and thin" keeps shifting. nobody seems to understand what "a normal weight" even looks like, because it's not something that exists - you cannot tell a person's health by looking at their body. even if you think you could tell that, even if you're sure a person is dangerously overweight - people are not your dolls. they do not need to be dressed up or displayed properly to soothe your aesthetics. you aren't concerned for them, you're stealing their agency. you don't get to say if they're "allowed" to take pictures and post them on the internet - you don't get to tell them how to exist.
people hide behind "the obesity epidemic" without any actual qualifications. they crow things about "normalizing unhealthiness".
but it's bullshit. i have visible abs. there is a pair of parallel lines on my body, even when i'm relaxed; where my obliques meet my abdominal wall. i am proud of this because it means i'm strong, because i overcame an eating disorder only to be ripped as fuck. it is genetic and physical luck that i even get any definition, i'm pleased as punch.
but it does mean that my abdominal wall sticks out a little bit. the other day i posted a video of myself dancing, and, for a moment, my shirt slipped. you could see a little bit of my stomach. i was cartwheeling to the floor. moments before this, i'd had my foot over my head.
a guy slid into my DMs. a row of vomiting emojis prefaced: you should really lose some weight before you think about dancing.
i stared at it for a long time. there was a time when i would have been triggered by this, where it would have encouraged me to starve myself. i would have ignored the fact i'm flexible, agile, good at jumping: i would have lost the weight for a stranger's passing comment. i would have found myself and my body fucking disgusting.
and for what? to please what? because why? so that he can exist in this world without an unchallenged eyeball? what would my self-hatred even accomplish? usually i write paragraphs. obviously. on this particular occasion, in this body i've been at war with for ages: i just felt exhausted.
it shouldn't be even worth saying. it shouldn't be hard to explain. all of this emotional turmoil when he cannot even comprehend the most basic truth: i am not an object on display for him.
#spilled ink#writeblr#warm up#like if im getting fatshamed. babe......... wake up#is there fat on my body? yes :)#btw this behavior wouldn't be okay even if I WAS overweight!!! that is my point!!!#it is both that people have no idea what weight is supposed to look like#and even if they DID... they do not seem to understand that PEOPLE ARE NOT DOLLS#YOU DO NOT GET TO TELL THEM HOW TO EXIST#if you respond anything akin to ''but raquel there IS an obesity epidemic''#you're blocked and reported.#go fucking DONATE TO A FOOD BANK THEN. volunteer in a food desert. start a free fitness program#GO GET A DEGREE AS A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL AND PRACTICE IN NUTRITION IN UNDERPRIVILEDGED LOCATIONS#FIGURE OUT HOW TO LOWER FOOD COSTS. FIGURE OUT HOW TO NORMALIZE AND STANDARDIZE#ACCESS TO FARM-FRESH FOOD. PROVIDE ACTUAL FREE ACCESS TO OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES#FIGURE OUT HOW TO TEACH PEOPLE HEALTHY CHOICE MAKING WHILE ALSO LOWERING THE COST OF MEALS.#THE AVERAGE GROCERY BILL OF THE AMERICAN CITIZEN HAS QUADRUPILED IN THE LAST YEAR.#SHUT. THE FUCK. UP!!!!!!!!!#you don't want to help these people!!!!!#you want to bully them but still feel like a good person!#you want to be justified in your hatred of an entire CLASS of people!!!#you don't give a fuck about how it makes them feel!!!!#you care ONLY about whether or not YOU get to VIRTUE SIGNAL that YOURE so thin and pretty!!!!#it is BECAUSE of people like you#and the fact you tolerate fatphobia - BECAUSE of that normalization. that men like the one who called me fat#feel like they can get away with it.#bc there's a line for you where you WOULD be okay with it. where if i WASNT thin you'd be okay with it.#which means the line can always be pushed in a certain direction. and it's always going to appeal to male aesthetics.#''well you didn't deserve it'' maybe fucking NOBODY does babe. maybe we should just all agree not to comment on ppls bodies!!

ASTRO OBSERVATIONS PART 25 🐣
Tumblr media
Venus in the 10th house people easily get receptionist jobs and other jobs where they are the face of the company. They are seen as someone who will make the company look good.
”I dont care if SHE hates me, shes ugly” - My Libra Moon, Libra Rising friend. We were talking about some girls who dont like us, she cant stand not being liked, except if the person is ugly then its okey because to her an ugly persons opinion doesnt matter💀
Ceres conjunct Lilith is found in the charts of a lot of body activists.
I looked up the chart of a body activist who focuses especially on making new moms accept their post partum bodies, and she got Venus conjunct Knight(29391) in Cancer.
Virgo Risings give off that ”Im better than you” energy without meaning to. This is the rising sign most likely to be accused of being arrogant or having an attitude when they are just minding their business.
People with Moon Square/Opposite Mercury might struggle with oversharing and gossiping. They have a hard time processing information.
People with Venus aspecting Saturn have this style where they look dressed up but still look so casual? Like they have the perfect mix between luxury and comfort, especially if they have Taurus or 2nd house influence.
Contrary to popular belief Libras are not likely to be mean to you just because others are, thats a Capricorn trait. Libras are usually friendly and kind even tho they have some shallow traits. They are still an air sign and air signs wants to think for themselves. Capricorn placements are the ones most likely to pretend to dislike you because others dislike you.
If you got asteroid Achilles(588) in the 2nd house you could make money out of your biggest insecurities. You could write a book about your trauma.
Lilith in the 9th house can mean your partners family dont approve of you.
Ive seen so many people with inner planets aspecting Neptune who are soooo much more beautiful irl than on pictures. Neptunians are known to be photogenic but a lot of them are the opposite. You dont see the otherworldy energy surrounding them on camera.
Mars 8th house synastry can mean you find eachothers name attractive.
Adorea(268) conjunct Sun or Ascendant is such a blessed placement.
If you have Aura(1488) conjunct Neptune people might be completely mesmerized by you. You have this disney princess aura. 🪄
Ive noticed people who are into toxic positivity usually dont like 8th housers. 8th housers are so good at accepting that life is both positive and negative, they see the beauty in the wicked. Also 8th housers remind them of what they are trying to ignore.
Having an air sign Venus in the 8th house is not giving a fuck but at the same time crying over the person you dont give a fuck about.
Machiavelli(19730) conjunct personal planets can make someone an expert at getting ahead by using others. Very good at knowing who to use. Very cunning and can be very detached from others (CAN BE doesnt mean they will be)
I know we shouldnt judge people based on astrology but seriously never ignore someones North Node because what conjuncts North Node is a life theme. Whatever a person got conjunct their North Node WILL affect you if you are involved with them.
Transits affect your style a lot. The year transit saturn was going through my 1st house I dressed very businesslike and wore a lot of grey, black and white.
I noticed that the person who take your virginity often have their Mars in your 8th house.
Venus conjunct Venus can be a rivalry aspect in synastry because you both want to come across the same way. You see what the other person is doing. If one of you is fake the other will see it. Venus affects our personality and behaviour a lot.
I noticed that a lot of people with Scorpio/Pluto energy could never be friends with someone whos too ”innocent”. They need excitement and drama.
If you have Uranus in the 1st house it doesnt always mean that the ”unique” about you is seen. You might not have an unsymmetric face it can be that the Uranus effect shows up by your tongue being longer than the average length for tounges. which will not be seen. Can even be that one boob is bigger than the other. Or that you have a look that doesnt match what people from the same cultural background as you look like.
To my Moon/Pluto and Venus/Pluto people. Remember that feminine energy is threathened and can be competetive with you. That doesnt only include women, anyone can be feminine. So you will experience hate from feminine men too.
You have a bad feeling about a situation or a person? Ask a Cancer Moon. Trust me on this. And ALWAYS listen when a Cancer Moon warns you of someone. Cancer energy is PURE intuition.

I will never shut up abt how skinny people stole the body positive movement (made by fat ppl mostly Black, for fat ppl, Black inclusive and safe) and turned it into the racist wellness fad diet industry shell of a "movement" that weight watchers tries to sell back to fat people. Learn fat history, learn FROM fat activists. We are still here no matter how much society tries to disappear us!!

Draco refused to use any muggle device there was. It simply was not his brand. Nobody could see him with the digital brick in his hand. That’s why he was hiding in the catacombs in Dungen. Only a few people came this way, and if they did, they certainly did not look into his little corner. The little box had so much entertainment that he could stare at it for hours.
He had mastered how to make it look unsuspicious. He hides it behind a book and turns the brightness down. He may or may not have bullied a Ravenclaw kid into connecting him to the ‘ internet ‘. He made sure nobody could see him with it. He would rather be executed.
Sadly, luck was not in his favor when he did not notice the Hufflepuff girl with a yellow bow in her hair standing in front of him, her head above watching the digital box. He was watching some videos on this clock app, scrolling too fast for her liking.
“Wait no, scroll back. I didn't have time to read all that.” Draco jumped and let out a girly scream. Clutching the phone and knees to his chest. The book that was hiding falls to the ground making a loud thud. The girl was startled by his actions and straightened herself but managed to keep in place. His eyes were wide, it almost looked like they would pop out of his head.
“What are you doing here?” He squealed his voice a few octaves higher than usual. She just raised an eyebrow at him.
“What are you doing here? I saw you giggling at a book, so I figured why not stalk you for a moment, when you didn't turn the page in minutes and kept giggling I figured you're either reading something spicy or doing something else. Considering you're holding a herbology copy, the spicy part went out the window quickly.
“I did not giggle.”
“Uhuh, and I'm not wearing a yellow bow in my hair.” She says and places her hand on her hips looking like a mother scolding a child. Draco let out a sigh, knowing there was no way he was arguing with the Hufflepuff. She sits down next to him and places the fallen book on her lap.
“So, care to explain why you have a phone?” She said and pointed to the digital box in his hand. Draco panics. Nobody can know he has this. Not even she. He tries to hide it, and he does, but the Hufflepuff is faster and snatches it out of his hand. He let out a whine.
“Give it back!” He says and attacks her. He knocks them off and makes them roll on the floor for a bit. She ends up underneath him. While she was shocked Draco made sure to grab his phone from her and place it in his back pocket. And in what felt like a few seconds he trapped her arms above her head with his.
“This is a very compromising position, Mr. Malfoy.” She says, her voice quiet. Draco smirked at her. He liked having control. He leaned over her, his necklace dangling in her face. He didn't say anything, just studying her face. His free hand travels from her face to her body, and then back to her face stopping by her lips.
He leaned even closer, now she could feel his breath on her face. He was still smirking. Almost like testing is she would move, even when he knew she couldn't.
The girls' eyes widen. She was about to say something when suddenly a phone rang. Draco sat up startled and hurriedly turned the noise off. He did not want any attending on them, and digital rining was going to bring that. He let out a sigh of relive sitting on the girl's lap. She lifts herself on her elbows and looks at him.
“No will you tell me why-”
“Shut up.”
“What did you just say to me?” She raises her eyebrow.
“NOT in a rude way. Shut up in a gentle way, like shut up darling.” He placed his finger on her lips in a shushing motion before she swatted it away. After that, she manages to push him off of her and sit up properly.
Draco just lay there, staring at the ceiling, in a position the girl could only describe as a starfish. Silence has fallen upon them. He knew the girl was looking at him. He couldn't meet her eyes.
How can he, Draco Malfoy, a Slytherin royalty, pure-blood activist, have a muddle device? There is not enough explanation or excuse for him to have this. He's trying to wait it out. The few of the Hufflepuffs he knows have short memory. Granted the only other Hufflepuff he knows is Cedric, and he never talked to Cedric, so his theory could be wrong.
Opening one eye to see the girl still looking at him. He sighs and gets up slowly. Brushing off the dust that accumulated on his close from all the rolling around. The girl kept watching him like a cat. He made her way over to her and without a word he helped her up. He started to dust her off too from bottom to the top and the girl still did not let out a single word.
When he was finished he placed his arms on her shoulders. Looking into her eyes, an idea popped into his mind.
“Do you want a phone?” He asks and does not wait for an answer. He swiftly picks up a book that is on the floor and tears out a page. He quickly writes down his request and folds it. Fishing a few galleons from his bag and then slamming both into the girl's palm. She just stares at him confused, but she's not gonna fight him for giving her business. So rather than saying anything, she just drugs and puts it in her pocket.
Draco nods his head and takes a step back. He hoped for her to leave, but she did not budge. He did not know what to do.
“Wanna look at pictures in my gallery?”
“Sure.” She shrugs and they both sit down again. They sat so close that their shoulders and thighs were brushing. Draco smiled, taking out his phone to show her his art.
“So lately I've been into self-portraits.”
“Draco, that's just a picture of your dick.”
“You don't understand art!”

Happy birthday, Huey P. Newton! (February 17, 1942)
A founder of the Black Panther Party, Huey P. Newton was a revolutionary and a radical whose ideas influenced a generation of Black and leftist activists. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, Newton moved with his family to Oakland during the Second Great Migration of Black Americans from the South in response to racial prejudice and anti-Black violence. Newton learned to read by studying Plato's Republic, and he retained a political and philosophical mindset throughout his life. While studying at Merritt College in Oakland, Newton read the works of Marx, Lenin, Fanon, Malcom X, and Mao, among others, which further influenced him towards left-wing and revolutionary politics. While still a student, he met Bobby Seale, and the two co-founded the Black Panther Party, crafting its Ten-Point Program together. The BPP's program demanded housing, healthcare, employment, and revolutionary education for Black people, as well as an end to police brutality, imperialism, and capitalism. Newton's BPP began a number of social programs in the Bay Area, including providing food and education to impoverished Black youth. The BPP also became known for its focus on armed community defense, with Newton in particular a strong advocate for the right of Black people to self-defense. Newton also used his leadership position within the BPP to advocate for the rights of women and gay people, embracing them as equal partners in the struggle for liberation. Newton was arrested in 1967 for voluntary manslaughter, but a public pressure campaign contributed to the charges being dropped, and he subsequently was invited to visit China, where he met with Zhou Enlai. Newton was murdered in 1989; a man named Tyrone Robinson was convicted of the act. Newton left behind a large body of work, including his autobiography, Revolutionary Suicide.
"Revolutionary suicide does not mean that I and my comrades have a death wish; it means just the opposite. We have such a strong desire to live with hope and human dignity that existence without them is impossible. When reactionary forces crush us, we must move against these forces, even at the risk of death."

[alt id]Two pages from the pamphlet "The Past Didn't Go Anywhere" by April Rosenblum, that read as follows:
it was a good try, but time to rethink.
on targeting “zionism”
A lot of activists work to avoid anti-Jewish oppression, and to make a distinction between Jewish people and Israeli misdeeds, by targeting their comments at "Zionists," not Jews, and "Zionism," not Judaism or Jewish culture. Unfortunately, this shortcut doesn't work.
First, it backfires because major, organized antisemitic movements also use the term, for the opposite purpose: to spread anti-Jewish ideology without looking so bad. That's why 2005's international conference, "Zionism As the Biggest Threat to Modern Civilization" was co-chaired by neo-nazi politician David Duke. For many antisemitic groups, “Zionists” are the demonic Jews controlling the world, Protocol-style; and “Zionism” is the general body of evildoing by Jews. Because we activists are only suspicious of Jew-bashing, not attacks on “Zionists,” their antisemitic imagery makes its way right into our circles. Second, because it replaces one one-dimensional image of a 'bad guy' with another. It bypasses the actual work of avoiding anti-Jewish oppression: reshaping how we think and talk about Jews and Israelis to see them as 3-dimensional human beings, capable of wrongdoing like any others. Finally, using the term "Zionists" doesn't protect Jews. It just makes people who bomb Jewish schools, synagogues, etc., call the people they're killing Zionists.
Principled anti-Zionism has little to do with the fake "Zionism" that antisemites like Duke attack. There are many rational reasons why some people are opposed to the philosophy that there should be a Jewish state, just as lots of rational reasons motivate others to believe a Jewish state is neccessary.*
There's no shame in thinking critically toward Zionism. But in a world of unresolved antisemitism, there's also no getting out of fighting this oppression head on.
*For instance: An anti-Zionist might rationally oppose Zionists' having consciously established a state where they did, knowing that this would lead to dispossessing the Palestinian people. A Zionist might observe that Jews' vulnerability was linked to being a permanently small minority and support Jews having one place where they are the governing majority.
innoculate your Palestine work against antisemitism
If you're white, understand: When you take no action to stop anti-Jewish patterns in our movements, you set Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims up to take the fall. Though historic Left mistreatment of Jews has largely been a legacy of white, European/American movements, Arabs and Muslims are the ones who today get publicly scapegoated for charges of Left antisemitism. Don't let them pay the price. Take the struggle on.
Beware of saying Israel is the only country doing anything, or the worst case of any given injustice; it’s often not true, and it gets used to justify global violence against Jews. Know and speak about countries guilty of similar offenses. This not only guard against danger to Jews; it brings a global perspective that strengthen the fights of all peoples, even while we focus on Palestinians.
Be specific about the injustice you're talking about. For instance, don’t jump into generalizations like “Israelis are like Nazis.” Focus on the original thought that led there; ie, “Israeli policies like [blank] treat Palestinians as if they’re not human.”
Remember that, as with every oppression, it’s possible to spread antisemitic ideas without necessarily harboring any ill will toward Jews. Stay open to re-evaluating tactics, even though you know your intentions are positive and just.
Don't casually use one-dimensional, charicatured portrayals of cruel Israelis. Rather than sensationalizing Israelis, and compounding anti-Jewish oppression in a world that already paints Jews as evil, help people see Palestinians: real people, suffering daily injustice, both mundane and extreme, and deserving of global attention.
At the center of Palestinians’ struggle for freedom and human dignity is their human and legal Right to Return to their land. But there are real reasons why Jews around the world fear losing majority control of Israel. (See p. 25.) If you fight for the Right to Return, understand the implications it could have for Jews in a world where anti-Jewish oppression has not been solved. Consider what role you can play in bringing about global safety for Jewish people.
If people use opposition to the term 'antisemitism' to shut down discussion, by all means, speak of anti-Jewish oppression. But speak of it. Don't let fellow activists silence conversation about antisemitism by complaining that the word is wrong, and blaming Jews for the problem. (See page 6.)
Above all, remember:
Taking care to resist antisemitism is not about walking on eggshells or acquiescing to pressure. It's about making a greater commitment to refusing to take part in oppression - and building movements that can win.

PAC: How will you change the world?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pile 1 pile 2 pile 3
¹
You are some sort of activist that speaks out against beliefs that do not align their truth. You fight against belief systems that are not rooted in empathy nor compassion. Belief systems that are only rooted in judgment and hatred.
You are basically an attack to society’s inner child wounds. However, you do not speak up unless you are certain about the beliefs you are questioning. You are being represented by The Hermit card, which reveals your analytical and introspective nature. You possess the ability to get to the root of any problem, which contributes to your arguments, that end up being quite reasonable. You call into doubt the beliefs that the world built its foundation on a long time ago.
People either perceive you as a madman or as a genius. Some see you as an individual that is not fearful of others' negative gaze and is quite innovative. Faithful to their position. Some may see you as too liberal, progressive or revolutionary. You undoubtedly will stir things up.
Your voice is a catalyst for change as it is forging a new path where new beliefs are able to be discussed openly. You are a trailblazer for many new-age ideas that will change the way we see our own world.
Your voice heals, people can often identify with your message and are able to heal societal wounds that they did not even realize that they had. You inspire people to say their truth, to do the same as you did.
The universe's advice is to surround yourself with a community you feel at ease at. People who allow you to speak about your doubts without any sort of judgment.  Don’t ignore your intuition if it tells you not to trust a certain belief, you are most definitely right about it. You have a gift of spotting questionable ones.
Being in the public eye might make you more susceptible to others' negative emotions. Do not suppress them if you feel uneasy at times. But take into account that fighting for what’s right is not always the most emotionally pleasing experience. Learn emotional intelligence to manage your emotions. Put all your anger into your desired cause.
²
There is a certain energy about you. You believe that the only way you will be at peace is when you finally leave this incarnation. You believe that you will only be happy if you become your highest spiritual self.
Nevertheless, you can still get a lot of wisdom in this realm. The physical realm. Your soul chose to experience this. Use it to connect to nature, mother earth.
You can be in tune with your spiritual side even when you try to access your more tangible goals. It’s all about balance really.
Don’t run away from your physicality. There’s a lot you can get from having a physical body: you can explore your senses and experience intimacy. Feel pure raw feelings, for example.
Spiritual knowledge can come from your feelings, which you can feel thanks to your body. It not only comes from the voice in your mind. It also comes from your sensations. You intellectualize spirituality too much.
Once you work this things out, you will affect people around you like a sort of awakening/wake up call.
People who need to be more in touch with their spiritual side will be inspired to take a more mindful and intuitive approach, whereas people who need to be more in touch with their physicality will be inspired to take the same actions you took. You will remind people of their own imbalance.
Duality is always present. Light and Dark, Peace and Chaos, Feminine and Masculine. Physical and Spiritual. You cannot go to the extremes and still expect to be living at your highest potential.  You’ll learn this and inspire people to do the same.
The universe’s advice is not to act without any purpose, Reflect. Reflect on you actions and choices. Why are you acting on them? What has it led you to?
Don’t be afraid of dealing with your past. Most importantly, be honest with yourself
You can always end toxic cycles and create your own happiness. The universe has your back. You are loved.  Trust your gut when it comes to what makes you feel good. Do what soothes you. What makes you truly happy.
New beginnings are coming for you. You will inspire people’s new beginning.
³
You, my dear, are represented by the Queen of Pentacles. This means that you were born to create your own style of success. Meant to create your safety net, your own beautiful little place in the world. It is in your veins.
You are meant to build a foundation around what makes you feel actually good. That is your kind of success. It is about pursuing things that fill your cup, not society's
You will change the world by being a person who brings emotional comfort to those around them. You wil be the catalyst for an emotional new beginning to the collective. Emotional clarity (you can call it that way).
You will bring a sense of awakening of some sort. Bringing positive feelings within society as the Page of Cups would. A jovial energy who lights every room he walks into, a kind-hearted youngster.
You, the Page of cups, are often optimistic and faithful to your ideas. You do not care about society's expectations regarding who you should be or how you should behave. You do not dim your lights for others. You live life by your own terms
Having an almost innocent approach to life is the reason why people are inspired by your actions and try to imitate you. You challenge society's pessimism /nihilism. You definitely fall under a 'Sun person' Archetype.
You will make people go towards what they feel would make them the happiest. Going after their own definition of success without being pessimistic about it. Those around you will put their guards down to seek help when needed, to find community and collaboration when needed. Not mindlessly putting their energy into something just because society tell them to do so
Seek joy and most importantly, authenticity (in order to stay true to your desires and needs)
with love, del <3

Hello! You have opened a fascinating door into kink communities I didn't even know existed. Thanks for that. I was describing some of your steamworks adventures to my partner, who works as a Disease Intervention Specialist (aka DIS, a government healthcare worker who administers free/low-cost STD testing and then attempts to track down and notify+test the recent sexual partners of any infected individuals). (He brings some INSANE stories home from work and gets to give sex ed talks at the local Christian college using a model penis that actually ejaculates--but I digress.) He was horrified by the hypothetical situation where an infected person could have blindfolded sex with an unknown number of nameless strangers. It's hard enough trying to track down partners when the patient only knew them by their Grindr username. How do you have safe sex in these situations? Some STDs can be transmitted via skin-to-skin contact even with a condom. Do venues like steamworks enforce any rules around testing/protection/etc.?
If your partner is 'horrified' by the actual sex lives of the populations he ostensibly serves I think he needs to read more from harm reductionist thinkers and queer activists from a variety of past eras and work on processing his feelings of judgement to ensure it doesn't impact his actions in that line of work.
The books and Melancholia and Moralism, Saving Our Own Lives, and Beyond Shame: Reclaiming the Abandoned History of Radical Gay Sexuality are good places to start.
If you're having anonymous or blindfolded sex in cruising spaces, one route of managing risks is to assume that every person there could be infected with STIs you do not have and to plan accordingly. Vaccines, condoms, PreP, testing, and education are just some of the tools at one's disposal, and one should always be cognizant of the risks that one is consenting to. Steamworks has sexual health educators and testers present within their space regularly, but they don't gatekeep based on serostatus, health status, drug regimen or use of protection -- doing so wouldn't be feasible and would be problematic on multiple grounds.
I don't believe the goal of a public health initiative or a life well lived is to eliminate all risk, or to regard the presence of any infection in any human body as unacceptable, but rather to empower people to make informed decisions about the level of risk they are comfortable confronting, or that is worth the numerous benefits to them.
Personally, I was in far greater danger when I didn't have access to such spaces. Cruising spaces make negotiating sexual consent far safer than privately dating and hooking up with someone, and Steamworks are vitally important queer community spaces, and for me are well worth the trade off. No one should have any illusions about this ever being an experience that they can eliminate all risk from, rather they should anticipate it and plan for it.
I think "safe sex" is an unhelpful framework to pursue because it is so binary and can't ever be guaranteed. What does safety mean? Which types of exposures do we consider to be "unsafe"? Am I unsafe if I encounter another person who, like me, has had a cold sore before, like 80% of the population? Or someone who has a strain of HPV I am vaccinated against? What about if I have an encounter with somebody with a cold? I'm "safer" being fucked by an HIV positive person who is undetectable and wearing a condom than I am having barrier free sex with a long term partner who cheats. I can't even know I'm taking a risk in the latter case; at Steamworks, I'm assuming my risk level to be on the high end and planning accordingly.
I understand that testing and tracing are important parts of public health for our populations. It was vitally important when monkeypox broke out. Maybe Steamworks should collect member emails and alert them if there was a reported transmission on a night that they visited. Though even then, there are some negative public health implications to dozens of people panicking. But there is no means of eliminating all risk entirely or tracing all human sexual behavior and I would be myself pretty horrified if there was.

I swear some misogynists straight up don’t like women at all. I’m attracted to women and this woman is literally perfect. She’s so hot. I’m not even saying this to be a body positivity activist, I genuinely mean it. This woman is beautiful and deserves to be a Miss Universe contender. How can you not see it. Respectfully, are you fucking gay?
