Visitation Rights

When Danny went to list Dani/Ellie as his heir after she'd come back from her years of traveling the world, he was quickly informed that he already had one in line for the thrown.

"What? Since when?!"

The pretentious, floating eyeball looked like he wanted to be anywhere else other than here, providing information to King Phantom, but explained anyway.

"The day you officially achieved royal status, you permanently linked your being to the Infinite Realms. When this happened, however, a child was in the process of being created with the assistance of ectoplasmic runoff that's been leaking into the mortal world for centuries. As a result of your power being incorporated into the Realms at such a time, this human child retained an imprint of your core signature. The Infinite Realms itself has recognized this child as your offspring. Your... other offspring has yet to be recognized in such a way and would therefore be considered your second heir once claimed."

Danny stared at the Observant with wide, blank eyes that were slowly filling with dread and panic.

"Why are you just telling me this now?? My coronation was over a decade ago!" He held his face in his hands and gave a horrified groan at what he just learned.

"If you really wanted that clone as your heir, I'm afraid it's too late to change it-"

Danny's head shot back up with a snarl and furious green eyes.

"That's not what I'm upset about you walking cataracts! Eleven years! I've missed eleven years of this kid's life!! How could you think I-"

At a loss for words, he growled deep in his chest. Deep enough that it echoed throughout the halls and rattled the floors.

"Who is this kid, and where can I find them?"

Once given the information and learning of the child's other parental figures, he gets to work. A few weeks later, he appears in the home office of a well-known billionaire with a stack of papers that he promptly slams onto the desk in front of the startled man. (1)

"I demand visitation rights to our son, Damian Wayne."

(1) Danny actually visited Talia first to get visitation rights. Needless to say, that didn't go very well. He's still got a couple knives floating around in his chest cavity because of it.

(*) ALSO! I'm not sure how this lines up with the DC/Batman timeline. All I figured out is that if Danny waited to be crowned until after he graduated college as an astrophysicist, which take 5 to 7 years, he'd be about 36 years old when he finds out about Damian. Bruce would be about 41, so the age gap is only 5 years. If y'all wanna make this Danny/Bruce, go ahead!

thinking about how canonically the pevensie siblings are 13, 12, 10, and 8 in "the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe"

thinking about how lucy needed a stool to be able to get up onto her throne, how peter's sword is a little too large for him, how susan's bow is a little too difficult for her to pull back, how edmund's shield nearly covers his entire body.

thinking about the pevensie siblings and their first few months in narnia, getting to know their new people, and half the narnians sitting there horrified because WHAT have these literal babies been through to give them such traumatized, old eyes, and the other half of the narnians are preparing to adopt them, no it doesn't matter that they're the rules, they're children who are being put in charge of too many things, and if peter looks at the old man council long enough he's going to cry, so someone needs to give him paternal support while aslan is off doing Lion Jesus Stuff™️ and whoops oreius is being nice and encouraging and now he's adopted his kings and queens they're his kids now he doesn't make the rules.

just the narnians and the pevensies being thrown into it together, and just as the pevensies will do anything to protect their new kingdom, the narnians will do anything to protect their rules, because let's be honest, these children have no sense of self-preservation, and are far too overprotective of each other and their people to take into account their own safety, so a lot of battles it's just one of the pevensie siblings running headfirst into danger with oreius running after them because his kids are feral and don't know proper royalty manners and won't threatening old kings from different countries because they're being assholes and the last time one of them tried undermining the queens susan called him a self-righteous asshole and lucy tried to stab him SOMEONE help him corral his children please

#this started off angsty but now i'm giggling #oreius didn't want to adopt the rulers they kind of just... attached to him #and who is he to oppose his kings and queens when lucy gives him her puppy eyes and edmund looks so sad #and peter just needs fatherly advice and susan looks like she could use a good dad hug #he's their adoptive father they make the rules #oreius is trying his best but his four kids are going through puberty and have bonded with every narnian #and it's not like he's opposing lucy's desire to stab rulers who act like they're better than them #but he can't legally encourage regicide #oreius and tumnus trying to corral the pevensies #meanwhile peter's challenging every ruler who tries to make comments about his sisters to a fistfight #edmund's conning the rulers who peter isn't fighting into handing over their kingdom's #susan's verbally destroying half their enemies #and lucy's running around making pacts with nature spirits to haunt the other half of their enemies #i love that canonically lucy is the most feral of the pevensie kids #chronicles of narnia #the lion the witch and the wardrobe #peter pevensie #lucy pevensie #susan pevensie #edmund pevensie #oreius

“Come on, Mangey.” Prim sighed, placing a hand on her hip as she grabbed the bridge of her nose. The mentioned fox tilted his head at the bat. “It's only three letters.”

“I thought he'd get ‘fly’ immediately.” Gnarly grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. “Considering that's what he does now.”

“He can say feelings just fine, but can't get fly.” Thorn mumbled, shifting slightly against Birdie. The group were relaxing in the treehouse, soaking in the warm sun.

Mangey was curled up in the newest member’s lap, a scruffy blue hedgehog with incredibly messy quills. They'd met him when the little fox had wandered off one day without letting any of them know. The hedgehog had found him asleep in a pile of mud and managed to bring him back to the group safe and sound.

“Maybe he's just not ready yet.” The hedgehog, Spirit, suggested. He was idly scratching the fox's ear, leaning against a tree. “I mean, I couldn't talk until I was thirteen.”

“Really?” Prim asked, let the hand on her nose fall to her side. “What got you talking?”

“I don't think there was a specific thing.” Spirit shrugged, “My brother and sister tried for years to get me to talk. Nothing different happened. I just couldn't talk one day and then the next it was the easiest thing in the world.”

“So you're saying we're gonna have to wait until he's thirteen for him to talk?” Gnarly asked, clearly not happy about waiting.

“Maybe. Or shorter or longer or maybe even never at all.” The teen looked down at the kit in his lap, smiling when he saw him sleepily rub his eyes. “He'll talk again when he's ready. Nothing we can do but wait.”

Mangey let out a squeaky yawn before deciding to fully curl into a ball atop the hedgehog’s lap. The soft petting made him sleepy.

Spirit smiled fondly at the kid, reaching over to grab a piece of fabric to use as a makeshift blanket.

“Guess we can't argue that.” Prim mumbled with a shrug, looking back over her shoulder. “Hangry’s been gone a while. I'm gonna go check on him.”

“I'll come with you.” Thorn decided, already on her feet before the bat could refuse her company. Prim went to question it, but stopped when she noticed Spirit was starting to drift off too.

“You come too, Gnarly.” She quietly said instead, motioning for the echidna to follow. He looked confused, but followed the girls with only a few grumbles.

Note

Role-reversal AU where Machete opens a library on Florence and slowly becomes a very influencial local political figure, while Vasco's parents become fed-up with his "lifestyle" and send him away to the clergy (he probably has a brother in this AU, to make their decision more believable)

They reconnect in a similar way to the original, but their relationship is much more tragic as Vasco became self-hating and thinks he corrupted/doomed Machete in their youth and meanwhile, this Machete is trying to protect him from the corrupted side of the Church and possible assassination plot, that he's too indoctrinated to see happening around him

A interesting ending for this AU should be that Machete still dies, but results in Vasco finally running away from the clergy/inquisition (not sure if Vasco joins the inquisition or not, you can decide) and hiding in the country-side. Where he grows old dedicating various paintings and poems to Machete and possibly taking care of some noble's horses for a living

#that's interesting #Machete could potentially really shine in politics I can see that being a thing #but Vasco would most likely have miserable time in the clergy #the pressure and guilt and expectations would break his spirit #even if he doesn't always get along with his parents his family relatives and social bonds mean a lot to him #he wouldn't take it well if he felt like he had failed his parents #and was subsequently pushed into a profession that forbids personal relationships #Machete would have hard time watching him and comparing the young jovial Vasco he used to know to his current dejected state #but in this situation it might be more possible for them to escape together #Machete can't leave the church because he's been indoctrinated from early childhood and has never had any life outside of it #Vasco's relationship with religion is a lot less intense he might be able to detach mostly in one piece #and look after horses for the rest of his days #answered #anonymous #Vaschete scenarios #Machete the librarian #he'd love that

Danny had been cursed when traveling the infinite realms he was exploring a world where the year was 1528, he had been exploring when a person uses magic to try to bind Danny to himself instead he bonded Danny to the land killing the magic user in the process. Danny became stuck in this new dimension unable to leave, he had no one to look and find him. Over the years many have tried to bond Danny to themselves but ended with their death, and Danny with more chains and being cursed

In the year 1695 people started to settle down in the land that Danny was bound to. Over the years the place became known as Gotham Danny protect everyone he could but he has grown weak because of the chains that hold him down. When Batman appeared and started helping protect Danny's people Danny decided to bless him with protection and each Robin Batman had would be protected

In 2260 another magic user appeared and tried to take control of Danny this time they were able to take control of him, but Danny made sure that the magic user and he could not leave Gotham. Batman had to let The Justices League into his city with a couple of the Justice League Dark. John was the one to tell the bats that the magic user had been able to enslave the Gotham spirit.

If you’re loved from the start, it gets stored in your cells, your brain recognizes it as the correct way for you to exist, and you don’t even get to doubt it; you seek it out as your birthright. When you don’t have it, your brain recognizes neglect and abuse as the ‘correct way for you to exist’ and you try and reprogram it, tell yourself thousand times it’s not supposed to be like that, you’re supposed to be loved, you’re supposed to be cared for, but you have no way to seek it out and have it, so it’s just struggling with your thoughts, all on your own. Feeling like you’re deluding yourself because surely if it was right and correct for you to be loved, you would be loved, at least for some part of your life, at least by someone. You’d at least have memories of how it felt, how correct it was, and you’d know what kind of situation you want to put yourself in, so you’d have that again.

But without it, you’re just blind without a map, telling yourself something you never experienced should and does exist, you only have no idea where to get it, or how to find it. And, if you do get closer to it, you’ll get uncomfortable and triggered and feel desire to leave. And you have to get out of it, because it’s part of your stability to get away from highly distressing situations, you can’t afford to be in distress that high.

Finding ways to feel like you have the right to be loved, is something complex and hard, that doesn’t come easily to those abused and unloved. It’s the one thing we have to teach ourselves over and over, and it still only works when other people agree, and put effort into being there for us, being willing to undo some of the damage done. You’re not to blame if you cant’ figure it out, or do it alone. If you struggle with relationships and friendships and feeling worthy, it’s absolutely not your fault. You were put in a situation where this would be hard. If you can only handle little bits and pieces, that’s okay. This is something other people are responsible for as well.

Yeah probably #homeboy had his own set of issues like continuing his father's conquest #he really didn't have time for either her or Zuko #and if Zuko really was born kind of meek to a very competitive family #who's to say Iroh paid much attention to him?#And put favor towards Azula?#and then he's gone for the siege and then an unknown amount of time for his spirit journey #and comes home and Azula is firmly not interested in Iroh #but Zuko who has been ignored and belittled by his father may seek Iroh out #to which Iroh would be open to but he's still messed up over his own issues #and being on the boat during Zuko's exile creates that bond #So Iroh would escape the favoritism aspect of the Fire Nation and show love towards the 'imperfect' son #while Azula has Ozai's favor #Which itself isn't healthy #but idk I can't hate Iroh for a series of events set before his time in which there's going to be a definite loser #and he's already lost #so he's going to try and help someone even if he doesn't really know how nor does he have the motivation at first #but then his care for Zuko grows and he realizes he wants that again and will do what he can #I'll gladly take the imperfect character who at least tries to have his heart in the right place
