Back on my bullshit looking up horse facts! Those of you who know me probably already know that I base Gan's steed on a Fresian, and my lovely follower @ultimatefangirl-exe pointed out the silver gene in bays and chestnuts -- but did you know black steeds with red manes are often that way due to sun bleaching?

Dark horses bleach in intensely sunny climates and salinity (both common in an arid desert). On its own it isn't bad, but if it doesn't shed and regrow can cause skin damage, sun burns, and even hair loss. If managed and conditioned properly, though, it can result in very pretty coats -- the ones above are referred to sometimes as 'firetail fresians' (the bleaching starts in the mane and travels to the coat over time, iirc).

I imagine Gerudo horses with these traits are a mix of both silvers and natural bleaching, but Gan's stallion remaining deep black while his hair is bright orange implies that his horse, at least, is pretty well conditioned against the sun.

Whooo! Joey time!

I don't even remember when was the last time I drew him, lol. His theme is fortunate/luck/victory, so I kind of ended up taking his muse design in a Greek westler-y direction? I'm not really sure how else to describe it.

He mostly has luck based powers, which he doesn't really understand how to use yet. Being the newest muse in the team, he is a little behind the rest magic wise, but he definitely makes up for his shortcomings, with brute strength and sheer determination. In the past him and Yugi had a bit of a rocky relationship, but they're getting on pretty well now. He even let Yugi's amnesiac friend crash at his place until he figures things out! Just how nice is that?

Hamster is still living in her burrows and won't come out for us, but did eat her food last night! We both spent some time with ratty boy tonight and he's already settling into the cage SO well!

He's climbing on & in things, chewing some stuff, getting food out of the honeycomb cardboard, and even climbed into the basket!! He groomed a few times while we watched as well. And he's doing fantastic at coming to say hi to us, gently investigating hands, and really likes puffs. 💜

He's taking all the changes really in stride, and not skittish or defensive at all. He's a wonderful little man. I have someone thinking about taking him to go with her 3 boys, I'll find out tomorrow, I think. With how chill he's acting even with being very interested in the girls in the room, I think/hope he would do okay with intros, which is her main concern. So 🤞🤞
