Dames Blanches
Tumblr media
Dames Blanches were always a favourite restaurant dessert order when I was a child. The smooth, cold, fragrant vanilla ice cream, the voluptuous crème Chantilly, the delightfully decadent hot chocolate sauce, a delectable veil on these white ladies. It is an easy dessert to make, too. A lazy dessert, but oh, such a simply delicious one. Thus a perfect dessert to end a Sunday lunch, bliss from the first to the last spoonful... Happy Sunday!
Ingredients (serves 2):
90 grams/3 ounces good quality dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa solids)
2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 heaped tablespoon good local honey
4 generous scoops Brandy Ice Cream, slightly softened
1/3 cup double cream
1 teaspoon Homemade Vanilla Extract
1/2 tablespoon is
In a medium bowl fitted over a saucepan of simmering water, melt dark chocolate with butter until smooth and shiny.  Stir in honey until smooth and glossy. Keep warm.
Place two Brandy Ice Cream scoops into each of two serving coupes or glasses, and chill them in the freezer, 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, pour double cream in a medium bowl. With an electric mixer, beat the cream, gradually increasing speed until soft peaks form. Add Vanilla Extract, and continue beating until stiff peaks just form. Beat in Icing Sugar.
Spoon Vanilla Whipped Cream into a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle. Retrieve prepared coupes from the freezer and pipe Vanilla Whipped Cream lavishly onto the Ice Cream.
Pour hot Chocolate Sauce into small pots.
Serve Dames Blanches immediately, drizzle hot Chocolate Sauce generously over them and enjoy this instant!

Edible Book Day 2024
the appetizers

A Commonplace Snack by Daemonluna
A collection of tropes and other ephemera, rendered in nori and rice paper. Sewn with a glass sweet potato noodle, ornamented with cilantro and lime.

This is the first book I have made since joining Renegade. I didn't think I'd get to make books and eat them too.

The (Not Actually) Matzah Plague Board Book by Noodle and Noodle's Auntie
10 Plagues by Noodle and Noodle's Auntie. Illustration by Noodle and Noodle's Auntie. Writing and Binding by Noodle. Materials: Gluten Free Matzo Substitute, fruit roll ups, fruit by the foot, sour belts, licorice, fruit rolls, sour sticks, cumin, water.

i do not regret anything... except maybe the dentist bills ;)
Tumblr media
Pancake Scroll by Zhalfirin
This was a lot easier than I had anticipated. A bit bland because I wasn't sure what I'd do the painting with and therefore didn't season the batter. It goes really well with a side of salmon and soy sauce though.

the iron chef secret ingredient was lasers by Lark
lasers are friends not food.
6/10, at least I chose turkey this year.
Tumblr media
The Count of Monte Cristo by Thunder (Dragon's Thunder Press)
This was my first book bind ever. The case is French toast. The 2 signatures are each made of 3 omelet folios, and they're sewn with mozzarella string cheese strands. The end pages are each a slice of prosciutto, and they're pasted in with raspberry fruit syrup. Finally, the titling was done with black icing.
Tumblr media
Sandwiches (And Books) Are Beautiful by Velvetwastaken
The ‘book’ ultimately failed to be readable as such due to a betrayal by the onion binding. But it tasted amazing, and thus I think still encapsulated the spirit of edible book day: good books are meant to be devoured.
and of course… … the desserts!

Mistakes were Marbled by anonymous
I baked a strawberry cake with buttercream icing. The buttercream set a bit too quickly for the marbled effect to work, and attempts to fix it caused structural damage, resulting in ... this. I would like half-points for retaining good flavor, despite appearances.
Tumblr media
Brandy Snaps by Lottie
Brandy snaps for the pages, strawberry laces for thread. Complete with two weaver’s knots to tie the strawberry laces together
Tumblr media
Book Cookies by six
Sadly not fully functional books - the cases are rigid sugar cookies baked into various open forms. The pages are edible wafer paper marked up here and there w/ an edible ink pen and the frosting quite tasty! Experimented with two different sizes and various page configurations. Fed some of them to various Renegade members. There were no fatalities.
Tumblr media
Titles are overrated by Zhalfirin
I'm still baffled this turned out the way it did.
It's a delicious little baumkuchen chonker (app. A6 in size and about 6cm thick) cased in chocolate powdered marzipan.
Don't forget to vote for your favorite! And check out last year's winners here.

Christmas Season list of chores:
Get as many spices, seasonings and sauces as I can to bulk up for the cozy season. If I want delicious devilled eggs and roast beef, I'm gonna have to do it myself! (And also don't be afraid to ask my long list of suitors for assistance with the fancy meats and materials I want... hey, if they want a wifey, they better be a provider man and get me what's needed for it!)
Stock up on hot chocolate, cozy teas, and any baking materials. Bake at least one warm good a week. Doesn't need to be any Cordon Bleu shit, (even though I have tried and failed at eclairs.... oh, boy, that n i g h t m a r e was as delicious as it was deconstructed!) it can just be a can of cinnamon rolls or cookies popped onto a tray and into the oven! Makes the house warm, and a warm, moist, sweet treat is every girl's best friend during a cold season!
A little extra wine, brandy and rosé in the cabinets could be stellar. Nights of sipping wine by a heater, cozied up in some blankets watching the Grinch? Could be stellar. Fantastical. :)
A humidifier for my house; or air purifier. Whichever works best to make it not too dry but not too moist.
Some more warm lighting; LED candles work, but the real deal is best. I wouldn't mind one more lamp.
Get as many vanilla and spice scented candles as possible. I *need* the house to smell warm and inviting. And incense! Vanilla, cinnamon, apple, pie, cake... all those goodies. Even if I can't bake all the time, I can make the place look, feel, and *smell* cozy all at once. :)
Stock up on even more blankets and pillows! And wash all that I do currently have!
Buy cozy socks, fleece tights, and a nice big puffer coat, with some texting gloves, and a few cozy hats to add on. All that.
Get one more heater! My place gets too cold, I can see my breath sometimes from how cold it is. Unacceptable! I need the living room nice and toasty, to easier play my video games!

Continuing the TWST Boys Go to Reader's World??? headcanons, can I have the Third Years this time?
Reader is mentioned and only pronouns used are secondary pronouns. The amount of research going into this 😥😥
Tumblr media
Trey Clover
Favorite Country/City: A lot of treats that he makes are from France, so I believe he would love being on the tasting side of the whole ordeal. Plus, candied violets (originally called violettes cristallisees) originate from there as well. As for his favorite city, it’s basic but it’s Paris. It’s the dessert capital of France, so yeah.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: He is a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to multiple different cuisines, as people from all over have come to his family’s bakery. However, if he had to choose one, it would have to be Spanish cuisine. He just strikes me as the type. French food would come in second, but we are going by entrees and not desserts.
Favorite Drink: I feel like he would be a bit tired of tea, and coffee goes well with a lot of sweets but sometimes he wants something else. So, hot chocolate is a great go-to. Plus, you can spike it with bourbon or rum and many other things, and he prefers bourbon.
Favorite Souvenir: A cognac that he has used to cook multiple different things. He picked it up at a small shop in France, and the brandy is great for making sauces and for deglazing a pan. He rarely drinks it, but it’s of great quality.
Favorite Singers/Songs: He is an old soul, and with that being said, he likes older music. I feel like he would like songs in different languages as well. So, I think he would like the song Nunca es Suficiente, the Natalia Lafourcade version.
Favorite Movie: He doesn’t have a favorite movie, but rather favorite shows. He loves Nailed It!, Zumbo’s Just Desserts, Sugar Rush, but most importantly: The Great British Baking Show.
Tumblr media
Cater Diamond
Favorite Country/City: This guy is hard because he would want to go absolutely everywhere and he would love everywhere he travels to. However, he would say that he loved Japan the most, as the people were very friendly and it was the first time he actually tried hard to learn the language so that he could be respectful.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His canonical favorite food is spicy ramen, so I would say Japanese cuisine would be his favorite. But, he has a more diverse taste than just that, so he would probably like Eastern Asian cuisine as a whole. It has a lot of savory and spicy foods that he absolutely loves.
Favorite Drink: He is also a margarita lover, and even though a lot of them are sweet, they are still delicious. However, he orders salt rather than sugar on the rim of the cup because he doesn’t want extra sweetness from sugar.
Favorite Souvenir: He picked up a pair of chopsticks that he always uses. He has finally got chopstick etiquette down, and the set he purchased at a souvenir shop served as a reminder of his hard work.
Favorite Singers/Songs: He is so into both K-Pop and J-Pop that it’s not even funny. He is one of those fans that will tear you up if you didn’t know the words, their meaning, who all the members in the specific group are, etc.
Favorite Movie: I had no idea he was into skateboarding, so I have to say that his favorite movie is Dogtown and Z-Boys. It’s a documentary-type film about the Zephyr skateboard team who helped develop modern skateboarding in the ‘70’s.
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar
Favorite Country/City: He is not one to travel voluntarily, so you would have to drag him places. He does want to spoil you, so he will (hesitantly) go along with you. If he had to choose a favorite, it would be Sudan. He doesn’t have a favorite city, but rather a favorite state: the River Nile state. It holds the Meroë Pyramids, and he thought it was pretty cool that Sudan has the most pyramids in the world.
Favorite Cuisine: Pretty far from Sudan, but Argentinian food would be his favorite. They are known for having the best beef, and Leona loves having a good steak. The only downside is that it’s usually served with a few veggies or a chimichurri sauce composed of vegetables.
Favorite Drink: He doesn’t really care, so I would think that he likes beer. He strikes me as the type to have a glass bottle of beer that he holds nearer to his hip; the traditional uncle (Unca) pose.
Favorite Souvenir: When he first went to Sudan, he dressed to fit along with local traditions. He wore a jalabiya in order to maintain modesty, and he actually liked it and hung it in his closet for the next time he visited a country that prefers modesty.
Favorite Singers/Songs: It started as him getting into his edgy phase, but he did not want to go emo. He prefers rock, specifically AC/DC. His favorite song is Highway to Hell.
Favorite Movie: He usually falls asleep during every movie he watches. However, he did like the movie Silence of the Lambs. The way it left him disturbed and on-guard as well as made him want to stay awake is the reason why he would like such a gruesome movie.
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
Favorite Country/City: Cologne, Germany. I’ve always wanted to visit, and it was one of my hyperfixations for a while, but that’s besides the point. The point is that Vil strives for perfection. Part of that is smelling great. Surprise, surprise: cologne originates from Cologne. However, the Cologne Cathedral was beautiful as well.
Favorite Cuisine: I feel like he would like Japanese food as his go-to, as a lot of their food is a lot healthier than others and he strives to be healthy. However, he would like Greek food if he were just going off of personal preference. Briam would probably be his favorite dish.
Favorite Drink: Do smoothies count as food or drinks? People have them for breakfast as they have fruits and veggies, but you ‘drink’ a smoothie. Anyways, his favorite alcoholic drink would be a martini. He is classy and elegant, just like the drink.
Favorite Souvenir: A piece of the Berlin Wall. The history behind it fascinated Vil, and he considers it his most prized souvenir.
Favorite Singers/Songs: Lovefool by Postmodern Jukebox (feat. Haley Reinhart). He heard it from a co-star, and he liked it. Yes, he continues his career in your world.
Favorite Movie: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, as I believe that he loves Audrey Hepburn’s acting in that movie. He also likes Gentlemen Prefer Blondes because of Marilyn Monroe and her iconic character in that movie.
Tumblr media
Rook Hunt
Favorite Country/City: The city of love, the city of lights, Paris. As much as I didn’t want to do such a basic answer, he is a connoisseur of beauty, and Paris at night is a sight to behold. Plus, he speaks French, so why not go to the motherland of the French language?
Favorite Cuisine: His favorite food is canonically liver pâté, so I believe he would love French cuisine the most. However, I would say that Danish cuisine comes second, as they have something similar (a dish that is derived from liver pâté: leverpostej).
Favorite Drink: A French 75 goes a long way with this man. He loves a champagne cocktail. They are typically for celebrations, and Rook just wishes to celebrate life and beauty as a whole. No, he’s not an alcoholic, but when he feels content and exceedingly happy he won’t hesitate in indulging himself with one glass.
Favorite Souvenir: A lavender perfume. He loves how relaxing the smell is.
Favorite Singers/Songs: His favorite song is Love Like You, by Caleb Hyles. Look at the lyrics, and you will see why lol.
Favorite Movie: The Notebook, as it’s a classic film filled with romance. You also cannot tell me that this man is not looking for the Allie to his Noah. He wants a romance story in his life, and that’s why he travels so much.
Tumblr media
Idia Shroud
Favorite Country/City: I can’t decide between Greece and Japan, so I will say that they are tied on Idia’s list. The gamer boy doesn’t really go outside, but when he traveled to these places he absolutely loved it. He’s kind of simple, where he liked the capitals Athens and Tokyo the most.
Favorite Cuisine: His favorite food is just listed as ‘sweets’, and he hates raw fish. We are not going by desserts, but rather overall food, and luckily fish can be replaced by protein alternatives. Plus, the fish can be cooked. That being said, Chinese food would be his favorite. He loves the dragon’s beard candy.
Favorite Drink: He rarely ever drinks alcoholic drinks, as he is already very weak in build (remember his family’s curse?). Adding alcohol to the mix would be a disaster. However, he might like a light beer.
Favorite Souvenir: He likes board games, and while he was in Greece he learned to play Tavli, or Backgammon, and he purchased a board so that he could continue to play it with opponents.
Favorite Singers/Songs: He likes anime intros and outros, and like Cater he is very big on K-Pop and J-Pop, but also C-Pop and T-Pop. His favorite song is 夜に駆ける(Yoru ni Kakeru), by YOASOBI.
Favorite Movie: Your Name, as the two travel just to meet each other, but they have to get used to their new environments first.
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
Favorite Country/City: He loves Denmark’s castles, but specifically the Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. It houses the Danish Crown Jewels as well as the Coronation Robe, and the history behind each item fascinated the draconian prince. The Notre Dame Cathedral in France comes in second for its gargoyles.
Favorite Cuisine: Again, we go by overall cuisine rather than the desserts (otherwise he would choose the cuisines that contributed to ice cream’s existence). He actually can’t choose a favorite, as all is better than Lilia’s cooking. He does have a least favorite, and it’s modern American food. His favorite type of food is street food, as it really allows him to surround himself with the locals and just be normal.
Favorite Drink: He doesn’t believe alcohol is necessary to have fun, but he will indulge himself from time to time. His favorite is a cocktail called a ‘Corpse Reviver’. It’s a morbid name, but it’s the one thing that magic can’t do. He likes when red food coloring is added, as it makes his tongue red.
Favorite Souvenir: Bro probably has enough money to actually purchase the Danish Crown Jewels as well as the English Crown Jewels tbh. Anyways, he actually treasures a book he picked up called ‘Once Upon a Broken Heart’. He was unaware that it was the first book of a sequel series, so he purchased the rest as well as the original series, ‘Caraval’.
Favorite Singers/Songs: His talent is listed as ‘stringed instruments’, but his relent would go beyond just the typical instruments you think of. Is an electric guitar not a stringed instrument? This man is in a 5 Finger Death Punch phase, favorite song being Wrong Side of Heaven.
Favorite Movie: He loves Sleeping Beauty, mostly because of that scene with Aurora and Prince Phillip where they dance together in the forest. Also, he related to Maleficent because she was not invited to see the princess.
Tumblr media
Lilia Vanrouge
Favorite Country/City: His hobby is traveling alone, and I feel like he wouldn’t have a favorite location. He has been everywhere, and the only place he gravitated towards was Brazil. He went to that year’s Carnaval celebration and he actually really liked it. The parade floats were big and beautiful, there were many lights; it was just fun in general. The city of São Paulo comes to mind, as it’s the biggest city by population.
Favorite Cuisine: Part of why he likes Brazil is the food. Tomatoes originate from South America, and Brazil’s dishes hit different (I don’t think I’ve been to an authentic Brazilian food place, but from what I can see and from what I’ve tasted, I love it).
Favorite Drink: In the Trivia section of his Wiki page, it says that he likes potions that are said to taste bitter by everyone else. That being said, I feel like this would transfer to alcoholic drinks, so his favorite drink might be a negroni. It’s a bit bitter, so it suits his taste.
Favorite Souvenir: He picked up some spices in his travels to “better” his cooking (it didn’t help at all; his cooking still sucks even if he’s seen other people do the dishes he's trying to make).
Favorite Singers/Songs: He is what boomers would call “hip and trendy”, so he likes whatever is popular at the moment. Yes, this includes the meme songs that might go viral on TikTok, Instagram, and YT Shorts. At the time of writing this, his favorite song would be Paint the Town Red, by Doja Cat.
Favorite Movie: He liked the movie Crimson Peak. The costumes as well as the acting were amazing, and he loves learning about the Victorian Era and how both England and the United States were developing during the industrial era.

Pairing: Pollux x f!Reader/MC Rating/Warnings: NSFW MINORS DNI; suggestive sexual content; food kink if you squint Word Count: 720 Summary: Dessert first, dinner later (spending the holidays with Pollux)
Tumblr media
It was the holiday season in Bound Arlyn, and you wracked your brain thinking of something special to give to Pollux. He frequented all of the local bakeries and candy shops in town on a regular basis so surprising him with holiday treats was next to impossible. He loved it when you went on dates with him to share sandwiches and creamy milkshakes, but you weren’t convinced it was special enough.
Inspiration struck you one day when you were helping Arcturus in the academy kitchen. He was making a cheese sauce to accompany one of the side dishes at dinner. You were whisking the sauce to keep it from burning to the bottom of the pot.
“Hey, Arcturus?”
He hummed in acknowledgement while he was bent low, pulling a hot pan from the oven.
“Have you ever had fondue?”
Arcturus placed the tray on a cooling rack and took off his oven mitts. “Hm, I’m not sure that sounds familiar.”
You explained to him it was like a presentation of a warm cheese used for dipping bread, potato, or certain types of fruit.
“Oh, that sounds delicious!” Arcturus beamed at you. “I bet Pollux would love that too.”
You experimented in the kitchen when you had free time. You decided to try making a chocolate fondue dip, experimenting with the ratios of cream, chocolate, and vanilla before adding a touch of sweet brandy.
When you perfected your recipe, you walked into town to gather the missing items for Pollux’s gift. You couldn’t find a fondue pot, but you were able to find a small serving dish you could keep warm with a small lantern. You visited the bakery and grocer, picking up cookies and fresh fruits to slice and use for dipping.
You gave Pollux a handwritten invitation to join you in your room later that evening. He blushed when he took the envelope from you, reading the card with a pleased twinkle in his eyes. “Are we having a tea party?” he asked excitedly. Tea parties always involved some sort of dessert.
“Something like that.” You smiled at him and kept your response vague. You wanted to give him something to look forward to.
Your plan went off without a hitch. Pollux arrived at your door right on time, wearing an elegant suit you’ve never seen before. He blushed and handed you a small bouquet of beautiful flowers.
“These only bloom during the coldest months of the year,” he explained while you found a small vase to put them in. The blue and purple flowers almost looked like they were covered in fresh, powder-white snow. You wrapped your arms around him and pulled him close. “They’re beautiful, thank you.” The flush on his face deepened even more when you stood on your toes and kissed his cheek.
He followed you to the little table you set up near the balcony doors, the dip already prepared and warming over a gentle flame. Pollux leaned over and looked into the pot.
“Chocolate?”
You used a small fork to pierce a slice of strawberry. “It’s a dish from back home,” you explained as you dipped the strawberry into the pot. “It’s a warm dip called fondue. It’s popular to make with cheese.” You leaned forward, cupping your hand under the fork and holding it in front of his mouth. “I thought you might enjoy trying the dessert version instead.”
He held your gaze, eyes glittering while he wrapped his lips around the fruit and slid it off the fork. There was a small smudge of chocolate in the corner of his mouth. He wrapped his hand around your wrist before you could pull away. He put the fork back into his mouth, letting it slide between his lips while he chased the lingering hints of chocolate left behind. He grinned while he licked his lips.
You set the fork back down on the table, and you looked at each other for a moment. Pollux turned away first, drawing a chair from under the table and taking a seat. He slowly unbuttoned his dinner jacket and loosened the tie around his neck. He had a teasing smile but the glint in his eye was no less hungry. He leaned back in his chair and patted his lap invitingly. You could already see the outline of his bulge straining against the zipper of his pants.
“I’m starving.”

player: Alexis Mac Allister words: 727 request: Alexis Mac Allister - no pref - 250 - 500 - Hi Amy! Could I request going to a Christmas market with Lexi? Maybe she’s shocked that he’s never been to one even though he’s been in England a few years now and decides she must change that immediately! And he’s just all cute wondering around and looking at all the things and being amazed by it all. Thank you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I still can’t believe that you’ve never been to a Christmas market.” she says excitedly as she continues to navigate him through the crowd.
“I just…never had the time or need to go, I guess.” Alexis replies, before taking a drink.
Stalls are as far as the eye can see with as many bodies crammed into this space as possible, making it feel like there's a football match present. Thankfully, no-one has noticed Alexis while the two of them have been walking around but there is still time for this to change. They both have a hot drink and a warm pretzel in their hands for now, though it’s not the first belly filler that they’ve sampled. Lexi had wanted to eat before heading out, something which she’d laughed off and assured him that he wouldn’t want to eat first.
“You really have no idea what it’s like there, do you? Trust me, you’re going to want to sample everything when you get there.”
Armed with cash and cards, they’d set out by following their noses. Full roasted hogs are splayed out for the taking, large Bratwursts are smothered in onions and sauces and chestnuts are being roasted. Some stalls have endless beer and mulled cider and wine while others have endless cups of hot chocolate with lashings of cream and selections of flavouring syrups.
Some stalls are offering Christmas treats like gingerbread cakes, gingerbread houses and people, nutella twist wreaths, and panettone is begging to be boxed up and taken home to be devoured. Tubs of brandy butter and cream are laid out with small pots for tasters. Poinsettias are freshly potted and wrapped up in big red bows, showing off their beautiful bright red leaves.
Other stalls boast stocking fillers or small gifts. Some are wooden, others are handcrafted. There are candles and wax melts which smell absolutely divine and a small fortune may have been parted with as Alexis had looked at a different stall, in order to slip more than a few into her bag with the intention of melting a few tonight.
She takes another bite of her pretzel and savours the warm, fluffy cinnamon sugary goodness that melts over her tongue, only for it to be washed down by some drink as soon as she’s swallowed the first mouthful. As she swallows, she looks up at her boyfriend who can’t seem to make up his mind where he wants to look next. So far, he’s behaved like a kid, excitedly pulling away from his parent figure to look at every stall and point to things far bigger than him such as inflatable winter decorations.
“Well,” she begins, “despite not having a need to come here, how are you finding your first Christmas market?” She wants to turn to look at him, walk backwards and face him while continuing to eat but she doesn’t want to risk walking into anyone and making a scene. And so she has to make do with looking up at him from beside him as she tries to keep up with his strides.
“I’m enjoying it. More than I thought I would,” he says and finishes up his snack quickly and discards the napkin in the nearest trash can. He doesn’t immediately turn back to her, and instead, finds himself immersed in the stall that the bin is next to. He longs to pick them up and look at them properly, but the months of COVID routine has meant that he’s got used to looking with eyes and not with hands unless he wants to buy.
They’ve already had to go back to the car and leave bags there because they were struggling to carry it all, but seeing his happiness at walking around and just being able to take everything in was making it all worthwhile.
“Would you come again? Or could I tempt you to a real Christmas market next year, in say…Germany?”
“As opposed to this fake one?” He asks sarcastically and takes a drink of his drink.
“This one is good when you don’t want to travel, but really, you want to go there.”
“First Winter Wonderland, then this and now Germany? You have big plans, my little one.”
“And you’re going to love it.” She replies, linking her fingers with his and smiles as he lifts their joined hands to his lips.

20 & 26 & 28? :)
Meow there :3 💛💛💛🥰🥰😸😸
Thank you 💛💛💛💛💛
20: 5 Things I love: 1) I absolutely love and adore my friends and family 💛💛💛💛, 2.) a good hot chocolate with whipped cream, 3.) good food (my beloved sibling searched through dozens of cook books to find a lasagna recipe without Béchamel sauce cause I don't like the flavour and texture) 4.) the night sky in a forest with the stars above you the earth underground below and this special forest air where you breathe in deeply and let go, when you hear nothing but the forest around you 5.) I love animals and music.
26. What I love about myself: I would say my optimism and enthusiasm, getting back up when I am kicked down, finding other ways to get to my goals and my eyes :3, they are light brown slightly yellowish with a black ring around them. I love my face, my shoulders and ribs.
28. favourite book:
Picking just one; lemme put it into categories
Favourite book as a teenager: Ruf der Tiefe / Katja Brandis & Hans-Peter Ziemek
Favourite books-series: can't pick between these two
The Iyarri Chronicles by Melissa Lynn Herold : the freaking tears I wept when that series was over, an insane hunger in my chest. Really handles heavy themes like SA, Murder, Grief, Manipulation really well.
The Underworld Chronicles by Jackie May: so good, I eat each of these books up like its nothing, heavy themes are handled well here too. I need to get the new ones 👀👀👀.
Thank you for asking 💛💛💛💛

While flipping through old issues of Esquire, looking back at seventy-six years of stories, we came across this treasure trove of odd recipes from the November 1984 issue. In it, such era-appropriate icons like Walter Mondale, Malcolm Forbes, and Nancy Reagan espoused the virtues of persimmon puddings, goose with prunes, and coconut drinks at a Thanksgiving meal. While we cannot vouch for these fourteen recipes — oddly, no one wanted to make former New York Times food critic Craig Claiborne's "Mousse of Saltcod" — we've republished them in the interest of kitsch, irony, and sheer amusement.
The Recipes:
• Walter Mondale's Turkey Dressing and Pumpkin Bread
• William F. Buckley's Thanksgiving Pheasant with Chestnut Cornbread Stuffing
• Bill Blass's Hot Giant Pecans
• William Styron's Clam Chowder
• Jimmy Carter's Plains Special Cheese Ring
• Craig Claiborne's Brandade de Morue (Mousse of Saltcod)
• Beverly Sills's Dutch Babies
• Nancy Reagan's Persimmon Pudding, Brandy Cream Sauce, and Monkey Bread
• Helen Gurley Brown's Skinny Hot-Buttered Rum
• Carl Bernstein's Potato Latkes
• Mayor Ed Koch's All-American Chocolate Chip Cookie
• Timothy Leary's Goose with Prune, Apple, and Chestnut Stuffing
• Ted Turner's Applesauce Cake
• Malcolm Forbes's Luacala Bomb

SERVES  🍴⃒            PREP. TIME 🕔⃒
20 medium pcs.       20 min + 1 h wait
COOK. TIME ♨   DIFFIC. LEVEL 👩‍🍳⃒
   10 min.                 Very Easy
Welcome back to Santa's Christmas sweets workshop.
I just finished preparing these delicious and very easy Chestnut truffles and decided to share my recipe with you all before my husband gobbles them all up.
If you are a chestnut lover, what do you say, do you want to try my recipe?
Then come and let's prepare them together.
Suitable for lacto vegetarians.

INGREDIENTS
Ingredients for making the truffles:
·      300 gr. / 10.5 oz Chestnut Puree (without sugar)
·      150 gr. / 5.5 oz Chocolate 50% cocoa content, cut in chunks
·      1/2 cup / 125 ml Double Cream (heavy cream)
·      25 gr. / 1 oz / 1.8 tbsp. Butter
·      About 30 ml / 2 tbsp. / 40-50 gr. Greek Thyme Honey
·      50 gr. / 1.75 oz / almost 1/2 cup Walnuts, finely chopped
·      Optional: 30 ml / 2 tbsp. Liqueur Grand Marnier or Brandy plus 1 tsp. Orange Zest
Tumblr media
Ingredients for decorating:
·      About 75 gr. / 2.75 oz Chocolate Sprinkles (i.e. hundreds & thousands)
·      2 tbsp. Cocoa powder, sifted
·      Some edible golden powder or stars
·      Optional: Powder Sugar
Tumblr media
METHOD:
A.    Prepare the truffles mix:
1.     Note: If using fresh chestnuts, boil them, let them cool down, peel them and mash them with a food processor, leaving some small pieces in the puree.
2.     Place the cream in a small sauce pan over low heat. Drop in the chocolate chunks. You could also use chocolate with 70% cocoa, if you prefer a less sweet taste.
3.     Blend them in by stirring continuously until they melt completely.
4.     Let cream slowly boil, stirring constantly to prevent the cream sticking to the bottom of the pan.
5.     Pour in the honey and blend it in.
6.     Turn off the heat.
7.     Add next the butter and let it melt in the hot chocolate.
8.     Then fold the chestnut puree together with the finely chopped walnuts into the chocolate mix. Stir to incorporate them.
9.     Optionally but highly recommended, you could pour in some Grand Marnier, blending it in. If you don't have, add some brandy and 1 tsp. orange zest.
10.  You can't shape the truffles while the chocolate mix is still warm. Put the chocolate mix covered in the fridge for about 1 h to cool down and set.

B.    Make the truffles:
11.  After 1 h, take the chocolate mix out of the fridge. It is now solid and you can work with it.
12.  Using one-use plastic gloves to avoid cross contamination, shape small balls with your hands and place them on a platter or a tray.
13.  To shape them, squeeze them into your palm and turn them around so you can make a small ball. Take care to make all truffles about the same size. Correct them if you see that some are bigger or smaller. I made about 20 medium sized truffles (a mouthful each).

C.     Decorate the truffles:
14.  Dip each chocolate truffle into the bowl with chocolate sprinkles and roll it, pressing it on the sprinkles so they will really stick on it!
15.  Next, do the same with the cocoa powder, but do shake each ball to remove excess.
16.  Additionally, you could sprinkle some edible golden powder or stars and/or add some powder sugar on top of the truffles for a Christmassy look.
17.  Now they need to set, so place them in the fridge-covered-for a couple of hours, before serving.
Tumblr media
D. Serving suggestion:
Serve them cold directly from the fridge. They do look so elegant.
Tumblr media
And look how amazing they are inside-crispy and mouthwatering with the hearty, wintery, buttery taste of chestnuts, walnuts and the subtle liqueur flavor!
Tumblr media
You could even place one on top of the other, like a Christmas tree (pyramid) and decorate your Christmas buffet.
Tumblr media
However, you can prepare them as an easy treat for any special occasion in the winter time, no need to wait for Christmas, right?!
E. Storage info:
To preserve them, you should store them in the fridge, covered, for about 10 days.
Don't worry, they won't turn white and they won't dry out if you keep them well covered.

20 μέτρια        20 min + 1 h αναμονή
   10 min.
Αν είστε κι εσείς λάτρεις του κάστανου, τι λέτε, θέλετε να δοκιμάσετε τη συνταγή μου;

• 25 γρ. / 1 oz / 1,8 κ.σ.
• Περίπου 30 ml / 2 κ.σ. / 40-50 γρ.
• 50 γρ. / 1,75 oz / σχεδόν 1/2 φλ.
• Προαιρετικά: 30 ml / 2 κ.σ. Λικέρ Grand Marnier ή Κονιάκ συν 1 κ.γ.
Tumblr media
2,75 oz Τρούφα Σοκολάτα
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media

Note
You know those cheesy pasta dishes with all the fancy add-ins like heavy cream and garlic so we can all pretend to ourselves that we aren't just eating mac and cheese like overgrown children? What sort of equivalent dishes do the people of Tamriel enjoy, that are basically just dressed-up "kid food" dishes?
Who doesn't love a cheeky meal that brings back memories of childhood? Across Tamriel, you'll find all manner of simple, hearty foods that will make you feel like a kid again!
Altmer
In Summerset, young and old alike enjoy mochi, a tasty sweet snack made from chewy glutinous rice flour. Mochi comes in many varieties, with fillings like sweet peanut or black sesame paste. However, almost everyone's favourite is a cold mochi filled with soft gelato of various flavours. My favourite combination is matcha mochi wrapped around a moreish azuki bean ice cream centre.
Argonians
Is there anything that makes you feel more like a kid than some snacking? Argonians are huge fans of anything that packs a crunch, both sweet and savoury. Whether it's spicy and sweet crickets, dark saltrice sauce-coated mealworms, or just good old prawn crackers with some dipping sambal, be prepared to snack your way all day long in Black Marsh.
Bosmer
If you're one of those people who stands in the kitchen gnawing a block of cheese at midnight, you're in good company in Valenwood. A popular late-night treat served at street food vendors across the Province is a simple cup of grilled witchetty grubs slathered in timber mammoth cheese sauce and topped with pulled pork. The grubs are meaty in flavour, and the pungent timber mammoth cheese complements the pulled pork when mixed all together, as the locals enjoy it.
Bretons
Pain au chocolat? Yes please! These deliciously buttery puffed pastries are essentially rectangular croissants enveloping delicious dark chocolate. Served warm, they're sure to make any breakfast or teatime a happy one! To really satisfy those chocolate cravings, pair with a classic Breton hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows and whipped cream.
Dunmer
Marshmerrow cake is the ubiquitous Dunmeri dessert that has gained popularity far beyond the borders of Morrowind due to its mild flavour and unique candy aroma. A soft sponge cake, which is sometimes soaked in comberry brandy, is layered with sweet marshmerrow crème patissiere, caramelised marshmerrow crumble, and maraschino comberries. Sure to knock some years off your age and put a couple more holes in your belt (it's impossible to stop at one slice. Source: me).
Imperials
There's nothing quite like homemade gnocchi with ragout for Imperials when it comes to comfort food. While this homey dish is prevalent across Cyrodiil, every household cooks the dish differently. In mine, my mother pan-fries the gnocchi in an obnoxious amount of butter, and tops it with her top-secret slow-cooked lamb and red wine ragout. While I cannot give away the secrets to her ragout, I highly recommend trying this delicious dish a try when you need to warm yourself, body and soul.
Khajiit
If you think you can turn away cinnamon and cardamom churros with a cup of moon sugar caramel dip, you're deluding yourself. This delicious treat can be found across Elsweyr and is considered one of the Province's most famous foods. Khajiiti churros, which are made from a mix of rice and tapioca flour, have a moist and chewy texture beneath a crisp, golden brown outer layer. They're served hot from the wok, with a cup of moon sugar caramel syrup. A truly divine pairing!
Nords
Spätzle is something I've written about in the past, and it's one of the best things I know (ask any resident of Skyrim and they'd tell you the same). These chunky egg noodles may look unrefined compared to Khajiiti vermicelli, but make up for it when liberally doused in a creamy cheese sauce and topped with fried onions. I like spicing mine up, quite literally, with some chili powder I purchased at a Sentinel bazaar.
Orcs
Nothing screams comfort food (and mess) quite like a good old echatere sausage hot dog. The echatere sausage, rather akin to Blackwood chorizo in flavour, is grilled over hot coals and served in a sourdough bun, served Wrothgar style with a good amount of horseradish mayo, fried radish chips, caramelised onions, pickles, and crispy dried baby shrimp topping. I'd say you can't stop at just one, but it's a hefty meal you can eat with one hand!
Redguards
I have probably written about gulab jamun in the past, a delicious, albeit cloying dessert popular throughout Hammerfell. An iconic dish at festivals and parties, gulab jamun is prized by dessert-lovers for its velvety, syrupy texture. These fluffy balls of cardamom-scented cottage cheese are fried and soaked in a fragrant saffron and rose water syrup, and topped with crushed pistachios. So simple, so good, and so moreish. Just be sure to stop at three, because any more and the sugar rush will send you to Aetherius!
