after school, cody invited brenna over to hang out. she was his best friend and things always felt better when he was hanging out with her. not that things were particularly bad, but it was nice having another child around.
“i wish there were more kids around.” brenna admitted with a small frown, “i mean... it’s just us. dai and donovan are too little to be fun--”
“so is my sister.” cody added, “plus... i don’t wanna spend all my time with evie. i wanna see other kids. meet new people.”
“glad it’s not just me.” brenna told him, “i mean, i like you. but you’re... kind of the only one.”

Hurt
“Aiden!?” Brenna screamed as she jumped out of bed, “What are you doing here?”  Aiden couldn’t believe his eyes. In his marital bed was his wife with another man, doing all kinds of NSFW stuff.  “Brenna?...” Aiden muttered.  “It’s not what you think” Brenna replied. She looked at her husband, his face was filled with sadness and disappointment. “Oh? So... I did NOT just catch you doing the devils tango with another man? Huh?” Aiden was starting to get angry. How could she do this? Did their vows mean nothing to her? “Well...” Brenna couldn’t seem to find her words.  “How could you?” Aiden said coldly. Brenna didn’t answer.
Tumblr media
“You don’t understand Aiden” Brenna finally replied. “Oh! Then enlighten me, will you? because to me it seems like you just threw out our marriage by soiling it with some random dude. Who are you by the way?” Aiden shifted his focus to the man trying to gather all his clothes. “Me? Um... I’m Briana’s boyfriend” The man answered. Brenna sighed deeply, but before she could intervene, Aiden walked over to her flirt.
Tumblr media
“Her name is Brenna, BRENNA! Not Briana. Get out of my house this instant and don’t you ever come back here” Aiden bend down and grabbed the flirts jeans. Aiden threw them at him and stepped aside to let the man pass him.  “Brenna? Really?... He didn’t even know your name!”
Brenna looked down. “Well if only you had uphold your duties as a husband, then this wouldn’t have happened” she muttered.  “Seriously, Brenna? You can’t blame me for this. I did everything to make you happy, I doted on you. I worked hard, saving for a new house for our little family, I helped and pampered you throughout the pregnancy as you were working hard creating out lovechild, I practically worshiped the ground you walked on. To me you and Ethan was... is everything. How did I disappoint?” Aiden felt his dream shattering. Was this it?
“Well, ever since I gave birth to Ethan you never saw me as a woman, just a mom! You never put me first, never desired me. I was just a dairy factory for that little brat. He always came first!” Brenna exploded. “He was an infant, Brenna! He needed us to put him first and how can you say that I didn’t see you as a woman? To me you were more beautiful than ever, but all my words fell on deaf ears” Aiden responded, Deep down he wanted to cry. All he had ever wanted was a marriage like his parents and a family filled with love and laughter. Not a wife that felt so neglected, she literally had to sleep with other men in order to feel fulfilled. But what else could he have done?
Brenna pulled her dress down over her head, she looked at Aiden who now was sitting on the bed, looking absolutely distraught. She wrinkled her brow, unsure what to say next.
“Aiden...” Brenna’s voice was all of a sudden sickly sweet. “This was nothing, already forgotten”. She sat down next to Aiden and tried to put her arms around him. “He meant nothing and now you know where you went wrong”. Aiden scooted away from her, still with his head bend. He didn’t much care for her touch or her words.
“Why don’t we...” Before Brenna could finish her sentence, Aiden interrupted her. “Get out” Aiden’s voice was again icy cold. “Get out, do whatever... I need a break Brenna. This is too much for me. I need to figure out if this marriage is worth it”. Brenna was taken aback, “W...What do you mean? worth it?” She stuttered. Aiden simply looked at her with sorrow filled eyes.  “We’re gonna make it! Aiden, Love, this is nothing... You can better yourself and we can be happy again” Brenna’s replied desperately. “We can’t get a divorce, think about our reputation... Now... You and Ethan comes home and we forget about this, right? everything is gonna be fine”.  Aiden send her a stern look. “Brenna... Just go”.
Brenna was flabbergasted, how could Aiden do this to her. She seemed to have realized, that for now the best thing would be to leave him be. But this was not the end. Divorce was not an option, she couldn’t be the only divorcee in her friend group, not to mention... what would her parents think?
“Fine... I’ll leave, but this conversation isn’t over Aiden” Brenna said and stood up resolutely. Aiden simply sighed.

Breathless by Celeste Bradley and Susan Donovan
Hours later, Fitch and Brenna were thrust laughing into the Casa Mata honeymoon suite by their enthusiastic festival minders. The door was shut on them amid shouts of encouragement and giggles. Fitch was about to tell Brenna he was thrilled to be alone with her, when he began to sneeze.
Flowers - everywhere. While he and Brenna had been making their debut appearance as a faux married couple, the room had been stuffed with blooms. All colors and all varieties were piled high on every surface. He sneezed again. And again.
"Are you all right?" Brenna stared at him.
He wanted to reassure her, but he couldn't catch his breath! He could only shake his head and wipe at his streaming eyes as he sneezed another time, and then another.
When he felt Brenna shoving him, he went blindly, trusting her.
Fresh air rushed past his face. He leaned his hands on the wrought iron railing of the balcony and breathed the clear evening air into his lungs. He felt Brenna gently patting him on the back as the burning in nostrils began to subside.
"Are you allergic?" she asked.
"I wasn't when we were outside." He caught his breath, straightened, and brushed his eyes with his sleeve.

FIRST CHAPTER CHALLENGE!
This week’s picks had a lot more success than the previous weeks. Not all books were unhauled, and I finished and loved one of the three. I’m a little worried because I’ve started to wane on this challenge and I want to keep going. So, I’m pushing myself through! If you’re doing this challenge too and you’re finding that you’re experiencing the same thing, either take a brief break, or go through your shelves and decide if there are any titles you want to unhaul without even reading the first chapter.
A gentle reminder: Just because I’ve unhauled the books in this post and in future posts, it doesn’t mean that they’re books not worth reading. They’re just not right for me. This is more of an incentive for me to free up space and give these books better homes than my basement.
Read my original post and how I’m going about this challenge here.
Have any of you practiced this challenge this past week?

Places No One Knows by Brenna Yovanoff
Decision: Currently Reading!
I’m really enjoying this one so far. The writing has me curious and the main character’s personality is both kind of intriguing and creepy. The story is told in two different perspectives, making this even more interesting to me (I love multiple perspectives).
Synopsis:
“Waverly Camdenmar spends her nights running until she can’t even think. Then the sun comes up, life goes on, and Waverly goes back to her perfectly hateful best friend, her perfectly dull classes, and the tiny, nagging suspicion that there’s more to life than student council and GPAs.
Marshall Holt is a loser. He drinks on school nights and gets stoned in the park. He is at risk of not graduating, he does not care, he is no one. He is not even close to being in Waverly’s world.
But then one night Waverly falls asleep and dreams herself into Marshall’s bedroom—and when the sun comes up, nothing in her life can ever be the same. In Waverly’s dreams, the rules have changed. But in her days, she’ll have to decide if it’s worth losing everything for a boy who barely exists.”

The Ruinous Sweep by Tim Wynne-Jones
Decision: Unhauled
I will admit that by halfway through the first chapter I was already disinterested. The synopsis shows a lot of promise, it just didn’t grip me. I think this might also be a strong case of a type of story not meant for me.
Synopsis:
“A rainy night. An empty highway. And no memory. From award-winning author Tim Wynne-Jones comes a riveting murder mystery that will keep readers enthralled until the last page.
On the night Donovan Turner is thrown out of a car on a highway in the middle of nowhere, he can barely remember his own name, let alone the past twenty-four hours. Where is he? Where is his girlfriend, Bee? In an attempt to flag down the next passing car, he startles the driver, causing a fatal accident.
With sirens in the distance and the lingering feeling that he’s running from something — or someone — Donovan grabs the dead driver’s briefcase and flees. Meanwhile, Bee is fighting for Dono’s life every bit as much as he is. But when the police show up and hint that he is the prime suspect in a murder, Bee is determined to put together the pieces of what happened and clear his name.”

The Last Kids on Earth by Max Brallier & Douglas Holgate
Decision: Read & Loved!
I thought this would be a fun, but silly read and I wasn’t wrong. This was probably one of the most fun books I’ve read in the last few months. I’d strongly recommend this book for any reader looking for a quirky main character and hilarious illustrations.
Synopsis:
“Ever since the monster apocalypse hit town, average thirteen year old Jack Sullivan has been living in his tree house, which he's armed to the teeth with catapults and a moat, not to mention video games and an endless supply of Oreos and Mountain Dew scavenged from abandoned stores.
But Jack alone is no match for the hoards of Zombies and Winged Wretches and Vine Thingies, and especially not for the eerily intelligent monster known only as Blarg. So Jack builds a team: his dorky best friend, Quint; the reformed middle school bully, Dirk; Jack's loyal pet monster, Rover; and Jack's crush, June. With their help, Jack is going to slay Blarg, achieve the ultimate Feat of Apocalyptic Success, and be average no longer!
Can he do it?”
Have you read any of these three books? What were your experiences with them?
I’ll be back next week with another three picks!
Happy reading!

Stonefire Dragons (book 11): Craved by the Dragon by Jessie Donovan
February 20, 2018
All non-Irish dragon-shifters are being banished from Ireland, and Brenna Rossi’s only chance to stay with the clan she’s grown to love is to mate one of the Irish dragons—Killian O’Shea. Even though he’s lost his memory and his dragon, she’s drawn to him and looks forward to some no-strings-attached heat between the sheets. However, the more time she spends with him, the more she realizes that maybe she does want a future with Killian. The only question is whether or not there will be one.
Killian O’Shea lost his dragon and his memory. He has no idea who he is or why everyone keeps asking him to remember them. The only person who doesn’t try to change him is Brenna Rossi, which is why he agreed to mate her. But just as he starts to enjoy his new bride, Killian learns that whatever drug had been used on him isn’t finished yet and that maybe there are worse things in the world than losing your memory.
As things deteriorate, Brenna tries to do everything she can to keep Killian whole and sane. But the more she helps him, the more she starts to wonder if she’ll lose the man she’s falling for. Will Brenna and Killian find a way to bring back his memories and dragon? Or, will they forge a new path to be together?

********
I received an ARC for an honest review!
My Review: 5/5 Stars
The eleventh book in the series and it was probably my favorite! When I found out that Brenna and Killian's story was next to be released after the novella Finding the Dragon came out in the fall, I was beyond excited. Because Aiding the Dragon left us with a cliffhanger of what will happen to Killian after his abduction and memories erased? I was looking to forward to his journey on whether or not he would regain his dragon and his memories and it was a story that was told beautifully by Jessie.
I loved the relationship between Killian and Brenna. Ever since Brenna arrived at Glenough she was attracted to Killian, yet he showed no interest in her. The Killian we met is a hardcore warrior, intent on protecting his family and clan. He is serious and his only focus is on his job. So what happens when he has no memories? For the first time, Killian can focus on himself and what he needs and what he wants to do with his life. And what he is finding to like is Brenna. She is the only one who treats him as a normal person. She isn't pushing him to find his dragon or recover his memories. She takes him as he is and is honest and caring towards him. He appreciates it and begins to really lean toward her, which he has never let himself do with anyone else.
What was great about this story, besides the building romance and watching these two great characters fall in love, was that we got a very close look of what is inside a dragon-shifter's mind. Killian is on a journey to find himself and his inner dragon once more and the journey is surprising and actually pretty awesome to follow. (I hate spoilers, so I will not being doing that!)
Another great thing we got in this story was that we got to see some beloved characters once again that we haven't seen in a while. And how they are doing on Stonefire.
And another surprise the book gave us was another love story! Caitlin O'Shea, Teagan and Killian's mother, in a small sacrifice to help her son regain his memories, she finds love once more with someone from her past. This allows us another look at a different dragon clan. And I instantly loved some of these new characters and hope we get to see more of them!
We are introduced to a bunch new characters and two of which will be the stars of the next Stonefire book. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Dragon Knights and getting to know more of these new characters. And of course getting to see the old ones as well. Each story in this series gets better and better, and Craved by the Dragon was definitely a favorite, if not my top favorite of this series! Can't wait to see what else Jessie has in store for us.

Sports roundup: Hustle fall, prep notes | Sports | desototimes.com
Looking to start a four-game home stand on a winning note and coming off a road win in Texas last Saturday, the Memphis Hustle were run out of the Landers Center in the second half of Monday night’s 117-107 loss to the Canton Charge.
After five straight victories, Monday’s loss was the first defeat to an NBA G League Eastern Conference club.
Now the Hustle will hope to regroup this weekend with a back-to-back Friday-Saturday set, hosting the Agua Caliente Clippers Friday and Saturday the Texas Legends, both night games starting at 7 p.m.
The four-game home stand finishes on Tuesday when the South Bay Lakers come to town.
On Monday night, a Canton team struggling to find wins in a seven-game losing streak found the right prescription in a 117-107 victory over the Hustle.
Memphis led by four at halftime 63-59, but it was Canton that controlled the second half, as the Hustle allowed 37 points in the third quarter and 21 more in the fourth, while at the same time being held to just 13 fourth-quarter points, a franchise low water mark for points in a quarter.
Monday’s defeat also was the first time the Hustle had lost after leading at halftime.
Hustle coach Brad Jones was disappointed in his team’s defensive inabilities against Canton.
“We give 36 points in the first quarter and 37 in the third,” Jones said. “Maybe you can get away with giving up 30-plus in one quarter but you can’t do it in two quarters. It’s not really who we’ve been all year but tonight, for whatever reason, we just couldn’t find whatever to match their level.”
Six Canton Charge players scored in double figures, led off the bench by Levi Randolph with 23 points. Bonzie Colson netted 18 and former Memphis Hustle Kobi Simmons was next on the scoresheet with 17 points.
The Hustle had balanced scoring, also with six players in double figures. Markel Crawford, Kyle Casey and Tarik Phillip each scored 16 points for Memphis.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Jones said, “We talk to our guys a lot about not worrying about the result but about the process. Our process was not very good tonight (Monday). We haven’t had an off-day in 10 days so after a day off Tuesday we’ll be able to come back, regroup and play two good games this weekend.”
HUSTLE TRADE COMANCHE FOR MATHEWS: Just before tipoff Monday night, the Hustle announced the team had traded its rights to forward Chance Comanche to Canton for the Charge’s Jordan Mathews and a second-round draft pick via Raptors 905.
Neither player has played for their respective G League teams this year. At 6-foot-4, Mathews has played for a Danish professional team, averaging 19.7 points a game in nearly 28 minutes of action per contest. Last season, the Gonzaga product played in 48 games and started in 11 appearances for the NBA G League’s Erie Bayhawks and averaged 8.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 20.4 minutes per game.
At 6-foot-10, Comanche played in 45 games and started in 14 appearances last season with the Hustle, averaging 9.2 points and 5.7 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game.
GOING TO THE DOGS: Saturday’s game against Texas is another Memphis Hustle “Dogs Days of Winter” night. Hustle fans may bring their furry friends, with a limit of two per group, and each dog will receive free admission to the game at Landers Center. The team will wear a special dog-themed jersey that will be auctioned off to benefit the Tunica Humane Society. Other canine-themed activities are also planned that night.
HOOPS HIGHLIGHTS: In Tuesday night action, Calvin Temple scored 27 and Kevin Henry added 14 as Center Hill defeated Columbus 77-67. Eli Lamb scored 19 and Isaiah Sheffield 17 for Lewisburg in the Patriots’ 89-59 pasting of Strayhorn. C.J. Norfleet tallied 20 and Jorden Flowers 15 for Northpoint Christian as the Trojans handled Harding Academy 63-47. Donovan Sanders scored 14 and Keithean Brooks 13 for Lake Cormorant, but the Gators fell to Independence 46-42. Hernando defeated DeSoto Central 69-45 and Southaven edged Horn Lake 68-61 in other Tuesday action. Christian Terrell scored 19 for Horn Lake in the loss.
Girls results from Tuesday included Hernando moving to 15-5 with the Lady Tigers’ 52-41 victory over DeSoto Central and Amara McKay scored 24 for Northpoint Christian in the Lady Trojans’ 56-31 loss to Harding Academy.
SOCCER NOTES: Ivan Gonzalez scored a pair of goals for Center Hill in the Mustangs’ 4-1 victory over Southaven Tuesday night. Lake Cormorant edged DeSoto Central 2-1, Hernando shut out Horn Lake 1-0 and Lewisburg likewise blanked Olive Branch 3-0 in Tuesday boys’ results.
In girls soccer, Brenna Becker and Morgan Vanderburg both scored three goals in Lewisburg’s 11-2 victory over Olive Branch. It was Hernando over Horn Lake 12-0 and DeSoto Central over Lake Cormorant 4-0. Southaven won a shootout with Center Hill after the teams finished tied 2-2 after regulation and overtime.
Monday, DeSoto Central boys and girls teams both blanked their respective Strayhorn opponents 3-0 in each match.
SCHEDULE CHANGE: Center Hill’s home soccer matches with Lake Cormorant on Friday were moved up to Thursday, Jan. 10 to avoid expected rainy weather on Friday.

Motherhood
Brenna has been having a really tough time ever since returning home with Ethan from the hospital. Not only has her body changed in so many ways, it hurts all over and she hates not having control over her emotions. And it doesn’t help that Ethan keeps crying all day long and she’s at a loss on how to comfort him and keep him quiet.
Brenna doesn’t feel motherly at all. She’s not like Aiden who has fallen into the role of a father so smoothly and naturally. If she were to be totally honest, she would rather hand Ethan over to Aiden and escape the house all day long. She hates how she feels like a failure every time she tries to be a mother.
Aiden is however very encouraging, he’s quick to praise her for all she does and help her in everyway he can, but it is not really helping. Brenna is just not cut out to be a mother, in her opinion. She gets in an awful mood every time she has to tend to Ethan needs and resentment is beginning to form, as she is reminded of how Ethan has ruined her body. Will she ever get back to her normal, gorgeous body?

Breathless by Celeste Bradley and Susan Donovan
Outstanding and in a league of its own: Breathless by @CelesteBradley_ & @SDonovanAuthor . Placing a request for more Brenna and Fitch adventures!
I finished Breathless ages ago and I have been so swamped with work that I did not have time to actually sit down and pen this review for all of you.
I know!
I am terrible, but sadly work comes first because I am not lucky enough to be paid to read books all day long (Willing to accept job offers with that specific description!)
I have read books from Celeste before; but to be honest, I do not…

Exclusive: Russia's Gazprom suspends external borrowing amid spat with Naftogaz - sources

MOSCOW/LONDON (Reuters) – Russia’s Gazprom (GAZP.MM) suspended its external borrowing program earlier this year because of a deepening legal dispute with Ukraine’s Naftogaz over gas supplies, three banking sources told Reuters.
FILE PHOTO: The logo of Russian gas giant Gazprom is seen on a board at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017 (SPIEF 2017) in St. Petersburg, Russia, June 1, 2017. Picture taken June 1, 2017. REUTERS/Sergei Karpukhin/File Photo
A London court in June froze the gas giant’s assets in Britain at the request of Naftogaz. The Ukrainian company was seeking to enforce an earlier arbitration ruling from Sweden that ordered Gazprom to pay it $2.6 billion.
The British verdict is likely to have spooked Western banks that traditionally work with Gazprom because it raises the opportunity that any new funds the company might raise via London could in addition be frozen, one of the sources said.
Gazprom is still able to raise funds on the Russian market, recently testing investors’ appetite with a 40 billion rouble bond ($630 million), yet the situation means it faces higher borrowing costs & prolonged regulatory uncertainty, the bankers say.
Gazprom, which is on the hook to repay $15.2 billion in external debt this year, had planned to start assembly investors to test their appetite for a potential sterling Eurobond in the middle of June, a Russian banker involved in that deal said.
However, the deal was canceled days before the British court’s June 18 announcement, the banker said.
He said that the decision was made as the relationship between Moscow & the West grew increasingly tense because of U.S. sanctions against Russian businessmen & a row over former spy Sergei Skripal’s assassination attempt on British soil. Russia has denied any involvement.
Two other London-based bankers said the decision to call off the Eurobond issue was in addition taken as Gazprom adopted a cautious stance ahead of the London ruling.
One of the sources, who all declined to be named because they were not authorized to speak on the matter, said that Gazprom had in addition planned to sell Eurobonds in euros & Japanese yen in the autumn, yet that those plans had stalled too.
Meanwhile, one of the banks that works with Gazprom put a loan for the Russian firm on hold until the situation around its finances in the West became clearer, the same source said. Gazprom declined to comment.
“As I understand it, settlements with foreign banks done via London are affected,” another banker said. A third source, citing a banker who works with Gazprom, said Gazprom had stopped making any payments through banks in Britain.

However, the London court’s ruling does not prevent the company from servicing outstanding debt, a lawyer familiar with the process said.
CHANGING TACK
Gazprom’s original plan had been to borrow 417 billion roubles ($6.57 billion) externally this year. It is currently building two new pipelines to southern Europe & China, & preparing to start construction of the Nord Stream 2 to Western Europe under a projected investment program of 1.3 trillion roubles this year.
Gazprom has a sufficient cash cushion to deal with its costs yet western financing is a cheaper alternative for the company, the bankers said. In March, prior to the London court ruling, Gazprom raised 750 million Swiss francs via a 5-year Eurobond where UBS (UBSG.S) was the only Western bank involved, & another 750 million euros in an 8-year Eurobond arranged by Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) & JPMorgan (JPM.N) along with three Russian banks.
In May, Gazprom raised 600 million euros via a loan from Credit Agricole (CAGR.PA).
Deutsche Bank & JP Morgan declined to comment on Gazprom’s external borrowing operations.
Other banks that have worked on Gazprom’s external financing programmes, such as Société Générale (SOGN.PA), Commerzbank (CBKG.DE), UniCredit (CRDI.MI), UBS, BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA) & Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, in addition declined to comment.
Credit Agricole could not immediately comment. Nomura & Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP.MI) did not reply to Reuters requests.
Naftogaz said that Gazprom’s failure to comply with the original decision of the Stockholm court was creating problems & it was better for Gazprom to pay the $2.6 billion it owed.

Title: Craved by the Dragon  Series:Stonefire British Dragons Book 11 Release Date: 3/22/2018 Author: Jessie Donovan  Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan  Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger   Genre: #PRN #DragonShifters #5Stars🌟⭐🌟🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• 📍 You know I love Ms. Jessie's books, this one was a little different. We have the fierce and loyal females who stands up for themselves and Loyal to their Clan. Ms. Jessie always has you on the edge of your seat from the first word, to the last. ⚡Brenna Rossi is a Dragon Shifter Protecter at Clan Stonefire, her Clan Leader sends her off as a loan to Clan Glenough. She fights tirelessly for the cure of the drug that was used on Killian. Brenna is ferocious yet I had tears, feeling her heartbreak, yet joy of her attraction than her HEA. OMG what a book!! ⚡Killian O’Shea is a Dragon Shifter who was abducted and has lost all of his memory from the drugs that was administered to him. He didn't know who he was, where he came from, nothing even his dragon was lost to him. He didn't know who the people were of his clan and he was tired being asked if he remember someone. What he does know is that Brenna treats him for who he is now, never expecting anything of him. 🔹️This book is quite a love story. Definitely a Must Read! 💥I have voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my own and honest.
