Sleeping With Dandelions, Red fox (Vulpes vulpes), London, England
‘After spending a lot of time with this particular vixen, she began to learn I was not a threat. This gave me some great photographic opportunities. I got to know her routine, and as the wildflowers began to grow, I would find her curled up amongst them. As the dandelions began to open, there were a couple of days when she would wake up covered in them.’

Happy #InternationalZebraDay! Here are a 1751 George Edwards illustration and a 1763 George Stubbs painting depicting the first zebras seen in Britain: a now extinct Quagga (Equus quagga quagga), and a rare Cape Mountain Zebra (Equus zebra zebra), which also was almost driven to extinction but has thankfully since recovered.

When I first started reading warriors I Honestly thought Shadowclan territory was a peat bog, so when they moved to the lake I was like...Twany why are you saying these pines are good for shadowclan??
Pines are AWFUL for territory I'm dead serious, everything I read about pine forests stops short of calling them Mammal Hell
The branches work well for birds and arboreal insects, but the pine needles and lack of sunlight makes ground cover extremely scarce. Very few ground bugs are adapted to deal with it, ESPECIALLY IN ENGLAND where there is ONE native pine!! The SCOTCH PINE.
The pine tree with most coverage in England is the imported Sitka Spruce, accounting for over 50% of commercial forest cover, and it's AWFUL for English wildlife. PISS poor. Why's it planted? JUST for wood. The majority of English species are evolved for deciduous trees.
Living near these things would be the 4th ring of hell for Clan cats
So less ground bugs and low-laying forage means the prey has to go up in the trees to survive, and the cats would follow to hunt squirrels and birds... that thing SkyClan is known for.
Tawny should have seen those pine trees and said, "Oh so we're gonna get saddled with the worst patch of dirt this puddle has to offer, ay?"
That's why I approach ShadowClan much more like a swamp :/ For one it makes logical sense to not have two SkyClans. For two wetlands are an underappreciated biome. For three they act like they live on swampy ground anyway, by implying it's cold and muddy all the time.

Gonna start posting my little animal friends like a Disney princess.
Animal friends part 1: Lilly
In 2021, most of my evenings were spent hanging out with one of the several local foxes, who I named Lilly. She was sweet and very bold, and raised three kits who are still around today and come to visit occasionally. Lilly was always the bravest though, and would come to my door usually at the same time every night. (Obviously feeding foxes is not encouraged in other places, but in London it’s very normal to do so since foxes are everywhere here and get along quite well with people)

It's always worth going out even when it doesn't seem all that promising outside.
A relatively quiet — but very wet and cold! — morning of birding led to an unforgettable encounter with one of our most exciting small mammals.
This Weasel was busily scampering from bush to bush and running down burrows in search of its next meal.
With a super-fast metabolism, Weasels need to consume around one third of their body weight ... every day!
They are a hard animal to search for, so chance encounters like this are precious.
