Hey, fic writers.

My boyfriend has said that I should not write fanfics anymore because it pulls my focus away from what I should be writing, if my goal is to be published. He says no one ever reads or publishes fanfics, so I should write stuff thats "real". It kind of broke my spirit and I'm thinking maybe he's right, but I like writing fanfics, and some of my fanfic stuff gets put in other hints I'm writing. I don't know. I don't feel like I should continue if he's that upset about it. And help here?
