Foaming Hound - CR5 Ooze
Not to be confused with Busch Dog Brew, the beer for dogs.
Tumblr media
Artwork by Pixdraws on Twitter.
Foaming hounds have the appearance of rabid, slightly wrong-looking gray dogs that are bizarrely soft to the touch – a hand can pass through them like they’re made of foam, and then they immediately reform.  When killed, they revert into gross, dripping mounds of foam, and lose their shape over the next few minutes, like whipped cream that’s been left sitting out and gotten warm.
Foaming hounds aren't mindless like most oozes. They have the intelligence - and the personality - of dogs, and can be raised and trained if a houndmaster is brave enough. They don't quite have the loyalty of dogs though, and have been known to eat their trainers with alarming regularity. Maybe they just don't understand that being eaten is bad.
If you want an ooze that can imitate any animal instead of always being a dog, look at the doppeldrek, which was the creature that inspired this one. They can be used in a lot of the same situations, but I wanted to create something that made more sense as a minion for weird cultists, and that behaved more like a dog in combat.
Foaming Hound - CR 5
At first, the creature looks like a fluffy, gray-furred dog that's foaming at the mouth, as if rabid. But the fur isn't quite like fur. It's a little too... spongy.

Day 126: Saturday May 6, 2023 - “A Day In The Lou”
Joined my old friend (uncle) Ben for the day in St Louis to treat William to his first game in Busch Stadium cheering on the Cardinals as they looked to stop a surprising Tigers team on a winning streak.
Waino took the mound for first pitch for the first time this season and we were here to cheer for it, and for the bacon wrapped hot dogs that Ben got us (William really enjoyed the bun and the ketchup, and the snacks from our neighbors in the row).  This is William’s fourth stadium and an important for me to get him to this year.  We dressed in our Cardinal Red and brought our best enthusiasm to the game.  The rain held off the whole day, and given the muggy swampy weather, the teams even agreed to play an extra inning.  The Tigers pulled it out in the 10th, another meltdown for the struggling Cardinals, now 13 games below .500.  Especially on a day where Dylan Carlson, William’s guy hit a 3 run home run, and Arenado hit one into the fries, you’d think we’d get fireworks at the end - but 2023 just isn’t the year for the Birds on the Bat. Would’ve never guessed that at this point in the season, itd be the team from Detroit that had the better record - must be flying the wrong flag back home!  But it was no matter - I enjoyed being here - the city scape from those old postcard shot seats, with the breeze coming through the fence on a Saturday afternoon in St Louis.  They’ve always referred to this place as Baseball Heaven, and sitting there with the afternoon sun on our backs, and a baby sleeping in my lap and the game going to extras, I looked around and affirmed it - this really is baseball heaven.  Not to mention, it was bobblehead day!
After the game, Ben and I walked back with our little one on our shoulders - the three amigos.  We went back to Ben’s house to fill up on grilled steaks and home brewed beer, and good tunes together.  A great little yard Ben has got and I just loved watching William enjoy time with Uncle Ben and Layla running in the grass and doing his 1 2 3 jump skit off the rock wall.     We came for the Baseball, but only because it would include this - a great visit with a great friend.  After I got William down for bed, we had a nice bonfire and enjoyed catching up for as long as I could stand it before cashing it in next to my little travelmate.  I ran my fingers through his hair listening to him breathe, proud of him for handling this BIG day with nothing but joy and wonder.   Aside from a short nap on the plane and a short nap in the 8th/9th Inning, he rocked hard all day long; “kept up with the big boys today, good job” I whispered to him.  He was fun with the ladies at the game, and getting his popcorn, and playing the Skee-ball at the Brewery and though the creaking wood floors made bedtime a little adventure, he now laid here comfortable, confident and asleep - letting me get some 1-1 time with Ben.   Good dude this little William.  Makes getting out and doing stuff like this with him so worth it.
And now that we’ve done this  - we can do anything and go anywhere... my sidekick weekend warrior leveled up today just as much as I did.

Truth really is stranger than fiction. Well, at least when it comes to marketing.
I have lived long enough now to say that I have seen just about every stupid marketing trick imaginable. This is a subset of the broader stupid human tricks genre, but confined to trying to make a buck.

So when I read this morning that Busch Beer has introduced DogBrew just in time for Thanksgiving, I shook my head. No, it’s not alcoholic, lest people have pets falling down drunk, and on a holiday no less. But it is an interesting twist on what has become Anheuser-Busch’s quirkiest brand.
Busch has regaled us with beer cans, both the standard 12-ounce and the handy stadium -friendly 16-ounce aluminum bottle, that feature a huge ear of corn. This is supposedly so that Midwest farmers and their friends will identify with the product. Truth be known, it’s more like corn is the major ingredient, not barley, as mandated by the German Reinheitsgebot in 1516.
Tumblr media
Busch also has an apple-flavored beer, which sounds like a sticky sweet mess to me, and a waste of good water. You can’t make this stuff up. Busch is the beer of choice for those who want a buzz while on a budget. And when I say budget, I mean more than just money, but also good taste.
That said, I kind of like the idea of giving my dogs a holiday brew while the rest of us are noshing on nap-inducing seasonal favorites. Oh, and string bean casserole, of course, which has absolutely nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but is probably America’s favorite side dish.
I must confess that I have given my dogs a taste of the brewer’s art—the real stuff, not flavored water, mind you—through the years. Never enough to cause harm, even though we never have to worry about them getting behind the wheel. They lapped it up. Today, I find them staring wistfully through the clear glass door of my beer fridge.
The brew, which is made from pork broth, vegetables, and spices, is available online at the Busch website. It costs $15 for a 4-pack, making it a premium treat and not one you’d want to do on a regular basis, no doubt. But it’s only available for a limited time, so you better hurry.
I recall about 40 years ago a different twist on pet refreshments. Puppy Pop and Pussy Pop were available in pet stores. You know. The kind that used to be in every shopping mall. I can’t imagine why you’d give a carbonated beverage to a dog, which probably explains why these did not sell very well, and collectors have driven up the price of these cans.
While DogBrew is clearly intended to elicit chuckles, it’s still potent, albeit not potent potable, marketing bluster. It’s a perfect match for a brand that has decided to make fun of itself a bit, all the while aiming squarely at a very specific demographic.
And I’m sure that families across America, especially in the Midwest, will be roundly entertained when they pop open a can of this for the beloved fur babies. For even more levity, you might try slipping a little bit in a glass for your inebriated uncle. He’ll never notice. The fun never ends. I mean, unless he starts barking for more. Truth.

Busch debuts non-alcoholic ‘Turkey Brew’ for dogs | CNN Business
CNN  —  Crack open a cold one this Thanksgiving – for your dog. Just in time for the winter holidays, Busch Beer has debuted a limited-edition turkey-flavored “dog brew.” That’ll give Fido something to be thankful for! But don’t worry, it won’t make your furry friend suspiciously merry. The canine beverage is non-alcoholic, according to Busch, and consists of turkey, sweet potato, sweet…

Just found out today that Busch makes a “Dog Brew” which contains no alcohol but does contain bone broth (some vegetables, herbs, and water are also included in the ingredient list).
Tumblr media
I’m just saying, if Mark’s looking for something else to review, since Del Monte, Green Giant, and Sour Patch Kids all seem to be sleeping on sponsorships...
He is all about that bone broth these days, and, I guess, if he has to, he could include Chica and Henry to see what they think. 😏

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-May 1, 2021
By David G. Firestone Quin Houff #00 Permatex Chevy Camaro-New look, same grade. Switching the orange and blue really doesn’t make the scheme better or worse, so it gets the same A- it got last year. Kevin Harvick #4 Busch Dog Brew Ford Mustang-I like the color scheme, and the forest and dog motif works well. A Ryan Newman #6 Castrol Ford Mustang-It’s an improvement, but it still is over…

Great guy gets a gig as Busch's "Taster Manager" for Dog Brew
Great guy gets a gig as Busch’s “Taster Manager” for Dog Brew
Meet Ethan, a hard-headed rescue puppy who had “a furious resume and history that will inspire us for years to come,” Busch said on his Facebook page. Just four months ago, Ethan was abandoned, fighting for his life, in the Humane Society parking lot in Louisville, Kentucky. With the help of the organization and his adoptive family, Ethan defied the odds and became a healthy and happy puppy with…
