Obligatory this sucks so much more knowing that this isn’t just about strength (as the narrative might imply, at this point) but because it’s his last surviving reminder of the parents who were brutally murdered in front of him as a child.
Fai’s price also gives him significant pause. It’s VERY nice seeing this moment and actually knowing exactly what the tattoo, where it came from, and what it does.
Fai knows the tattoo will stop his power from growing. Without his tattoo Fai then deliberately tries not to use his power at all throughout the journey because he’s operating on the understanding that the more he uses it the stronger he’ll get. So he just… doesn’t use it.
I think it’s Kurogane who eventually points out that, if the curse was going to trigger when Fai met someone with stronger magic than him, then wouldn’t he want to keep using it to making it as strong as possible, to decrease the chances of it ever happening?
And the answer is a pretty strong YES, but that’s exactly what Ashura is trying to avoid, and with the help of some handy dandy brainwashing he can manipulate Fai right where he wants him! So that Fai is still at a level where Ashura can eventually out strip him.
By murdering all the people Fai knows in his new home.
And forcing him to kill his father figure.
Out of LOVE.
I hate Ashura.

Infinity war au where Loki survives the broken neck, and he is the one the gotg find, he saves thor from the cold of space. Loki immediately passes out and Thor is telling their tale to Rocket while brushing loki's hair out of his face gingerly, promising he'll be better to Loki, bc he almost lost loki again and he realizes he's been Awful.
Thanos doesnt snap as Loki and Thor double team him and literally cut him in half. GotG trade back Soul for Gamora, Vision is fixed, Loki keeps Space on him at all times, the other stones are either given back to their keepers or freed (im rly digging the sentient stone theory)
Also the Black Order realize they're no longer obligated to follow thanos under threat and start trying to make it up to Gamora, Nebula and maybe loki as well.
i’m starting to think that the russos looked at the mcu and went ‘now what’s the worst possible way we could go forward with this’

hello! ive been following someone for a while who posts a lot of destiny content after i left tumblr for a while, and as much as they talk about it and love it, i still know nothing about it? but their enthusiasm about it is legitimately so refreshing and i'm interested to know more
with this in mind. is Drifter just Some Guy out in space. does he have alien friends. he looks like he's friendly
hi! drifter would certainly like you to think hes just some guy in space, its very much a vibe he actively tries to give off. in reality hes very strong, not only on the merit of being a guardian, but because he has what is effectively an entire legion (with BIG BOYS) at his disposal. he is friendly to the player character, and other people here and there, but really at the end of the day his main goal is to live (by his own terms, i should mention). sometimes helping other people is the way to do that, basically in almost any situation he has some angle. all that being said he has some fascinating characterization and you can clearly see why he is the way he is. i wouldn't say he has any alien friends based on the fact i don't believe he has any real (living) friends period due to trust issues, and probably a bit the fear of loss, but he does have alien associates! ultimately, drifter is a wonderfully written and beloved character, but historically is just a bit of a bastard
