Creators can set the price for their subscriber-only content starting at $3.99 per month, with additional tiers at $5.99 and $9.99. Tumblr will take a 5% cut from creator profits.

this could actually get very, very bad, because just ask the OTW—you cannot profit from fan fiction without running into legal issues. that's why AO3 has to come down hard on anyone doing fic for paid commissions, posting links to their ko-fi in the author's notes, etc.

if a tumblr user puts their fanfic behind a paywall, they are now profiting from it, and would be entirely at risk if the owner of the intellectual property in question decided to sue them. god help you if it's disney.

and if tumblr is hosting that and also profiting... then I imagine that tumblr itself might be part of that lawsuit.

okay but i don’t think people are realizing the significance of eda’s reaction after king told her he’s adopting her name

this entire episode we see eda on the brink of losing her found family. she overhears discussions of a future that, as far as she knows, has her written out of it. king goes back to his real family, luz goes back to her real family, and the owl house goes back to its lonesome.

and then, suddenly, she reunites with raine— a wonderful, exhilarating, nostalgic moment— and it’s ripped out from underneath her. an episode of eda preparing for loss couldn’t prepare her for a sacrifice she wasn’t expecting to witness. this devastates her, and so when king gets ready to make his announcement, she of course prepares herself for the worst, even when she’s supportive of his future. (both feelings can coexist!)

so of course it takes her by complete surprise when king announces a formal commitment to being a part of eda’s family. after so much grief and after (not-so-willingly) accepting that these people she so deeply cares for only see her as a temporary moment in their lives, eda gets literal LEGAL confirmation on how meaningful she is to these kiddos. and i just think that’s neat
