The Death of Family
blood stains, innocent blood stains harder. The blood of those you love stains forever. For prompt 6 of @owlcatober , family [click for better quality and notes are under the cut]
this did not happen but also this is what actually happened, the true version of events, not whatever cold and callous series of events actually took place in the mansion on that night.
this is the metaphorical representation of what happened.
her best friend dying in her arms, white dress getting stained by the blood. fingers intertwined the same way as when they practiced dancing. she dies with a smile on her lips and muras eyes are heavy with grief, taking in every detail as the blood pours out from the gash marring her friends beauty. something in her shatters at the same time as the woman in her arms heart stops beating. something shatters so badly that all is left is glass dust, impossible to put back together. in the warped light the blood looks pink and the shadows on her dress seem akin to the bloodstains on her friends. the only thing unstained, the last gift, a wreath of pure white flowers.
What is left after you kill the only person you let in your heart, other than to become a monster.
so this is entirely for the symbolism. mura wouldnt have her classic hairstyle yet [hell i didnt colour in hair or eyes because muras current ones are dyes/changed] and they both would be younger and given shes using gonna use the body to set up someone she would not have time for a melodramatic finger-entwined kinda embrace.
but the drama!!!!
the parallels to the pieta are intentional [but hey what dead body cradled in someones arms cant be related to it]
her friend is the sacrificial lamb for muras permanent decent into villainy. with her friend gone she has no reason to care for others beyond her own survival.
in many ways this moment is more important that mura overtaking her father, this moment seals her on her trajectory. in many ways this froze mura in time, and planted the largest crack in the wall of her image of her fathers excellence.
ive mentioned it before but the only way for mura to be happy and anywhere near normal, would be someone interfering before this point. as soon as her friends heart stopped beating shes locked in her path and beliefs.
it has a roundabout connection to the prompt, it damages her relationship with her father, and also regardless of the label, her kinship with her freind is a powerfull bond, and their extend lifetimes meaning that the growth they shared was not over years but decades, makes her so important to mura, and in some ways family.
an alternate title would be 'death of innocence' or rather the death of muras last shred of compassion and love.
the two fracture points are mura and her friends hearts. i will use the shattered glass motif till i overuse it.
also yes the braid around muras bun thing in the future is a replacement for the wreath of flowers her friend gave her. heartless my ass. for somone who wants nothing more than to forget what happened she sure doesnt let herself forget.
anyway! girlbesties!!! dont we all kill each other and parts of ourself just for the approval of greater forces!!! betray and scar each other in ways that will last forever!!! whats a friend but a sacrifice waiting to happen!!

so this was delayed cause i overexerted myself, unfortunately this means my weekend to relax and do some more prompts is now spent testing the limits of how many painkillers i can take. im mostly annoyed, but hey! still have plenty of jojos to watch /read, and ds9 & the expanse are up next on my watch-list so its fine that i cant move any muscle connected to my shoulders without crying in pain! please ignore the pile of corsework i have to do!
this isnt at a level of quality that i would like it to be, but i am happy with it. no artist ever is fully satisfied with their work, its just this time there is a larger distance than normal.

Xuma (Planet)
Pretty dark planet, it’s ‘sun’ doesn’t generate a lot of light or heat
Not icy/snowy, but pretty cold
Lots of water. Rains a lot
Lots of forests, mountains, grassy plains, caves. No big cities, only small settlements
Animals much like earth’s, but the majority are better suited for the night/the dark
Xuma (People)
Three main variations of Xuma: forest, plain, and cave
Forest Xuma are naturally cautious and introverted with the other Xuma. They are very self-sufficient, and very few of them leave the forest to trade. However, they are very warm and friendly within their own communities. They are typically hunters, trappers, and leatherworkers. They are the most open to change, and are not as concerned with tradition as the others, but are in no rush to change what’s currently working. Typically anywhere between 9-11ft tall
Plain Xuma tend to be farmers, ranchers, and textile workers. They are somewhat serious, and hold very tight to tradition. Change and innovation makes them wary. Even so, they have a fondness for traveling and trading, and will often approach the other Xuma communities, offering food and other goods in return for useful tools and materials. They maintain a very good transactional relationship with the cave Xuma because of this. Typically anywhere between 8-10ft tall
Cave Xuma are mostly miners, metalworkers, and scavengers, and are surprisingly the most socially driven of the Xuma. They are merry and hardworking, and like to drink. Their favorite import from the plain Xuma are the crops that they can store and ferment into alcohol. They are somewhat welcoming of innovation, but are still hesitant to make changes that interfere with tradition. Typically 7-9ft tall
Xuma have adapted well to their environment. They have thick, water-resistant skin, and generate a lot of body heat, and therefore do not do well in warmer, drier environments. They sleep communal rest piles, in order to keep both warm, as well as share dreams
No sexual dimorphism in any of the Xuma. No sense for gender or sexuality (they/them for everyone)
They age and reproduce slowly, and raise young as a community. Deaths are heavily mourned over a long period of time. Even Xuma from different communities will come to mourn, bringing gifts and sharing food and drink
Xuma share a special mental link with each other that makes them able to share feelings, thoughts, and memories, and they can even extend this power to other non-Xuma species
Sharing dreams is an important bonding ritual for the Xuma, as the burden of experiencing dreams on your lonesome can be mentally taxing. This is also why casual mental links are important, and why Xuma must live in a community
They are deeply empathetic and are extremely averse to senseless violence. Still, they are omnivorous, so they kill to eat, but nothing more. Fighting, even between different types of Xuma, is almost unheard of
They do not pick official leaders, and instead, turn to the oldest and most experienced of their communities to make decisions
There have been ships that landed on Xuma, and they have regarded their few visitors with cautious hospitality. Luckily, their visitors have been peaceful thus far, but the stories they’ve heard about the rest of the galaxy makes them anxious about drawing attention to themselves. They would far rather have their small planet stay under the radar, if they can help it
Aom
Plain Xuma
Finds the other two Xuma communities far more interesting than his own, but ESPECIALLY loves the idea of going to other planets
Disinterested in farming or trading, really loves inventing
He began to invent when he met a spacefaring alien who taught him about spaceships and other pieces of advanced technology when he was a child
After receiving some books and such from the alien, he began to study and tinker on his own, and completely gave up on trying to fit in with the rest of the Xuma
Unfortunately, there is only so much one can do with the materials on Xuma, so he left on one of the visiting ships, promising to do free repairs and such in return for a one way trip
The elders in his community said he would not be welcome back if he leaves, due to his cruel disregard for tradition and the people who raised him, but Aom holds onto the hope that he will be able to come home one day… after he has finished learning all he wants to learn of course
The first planet he found himself on was Alternia
He quickly realized how harsh of a place it was, but luckily managed to find his way to Ilioneus, where he settled down for the time being, so that he may learn and invent in peace
Along with learning things about science and technology, Aom also learned about Alternia’s culture. He was especially intrigued by gender, and decided he would be most happy if he was referred to with he/him pronouns
He’s come to love Alternia, and he enjoys getting the opportunity to experiment with their very advanced technology. Even if he doesn’t plan on staying forever, it’ll be a while until he finds a new planet to investigate

When do they meet each other's families?
(we all know how meeting keiki went so im going to skip over that) besides the quick thing in hawaii, jensen actually meets bryce's parents on a little vacation they do to visit them. i posted a wip of that fic here, and it takes place a few years after book 3
bryce meets jensens family on two occasions, his foster family for a yearly visit and his biological mother and step family on another. i have wips of the foster family visit here and here. he meets his foster family two years after book 3, and his bio/step family three years after book 3
What do they think of each other?
(this one got very long asdfghjk so its all under the cut)
bryces parents dont dislike jensen, but jensen is pretty quiet and it can be hard to get a read on him. it would take them more than one visit to warm up to him. they partially respect him as a doctor, and bryce is more than willing to go on about his accomplishments, but jensen being as young as he is definitely causes some friction and makes them apprehensive to fully trust that he's as smart and capable as hes said to be. keiki on the other hand loves jensen, and gets along with him really well. because jensen isnt great at being an authority figure to keiki, they have more of a friendly relationship, and definitely bond over making fun of bryce. because of that, keiki is almost more comfortable talking to him about certain things than bryce, but jensen still tries to bridge some of those gaps between them
jensen doesnt like bryces parents much or at all, but he tries his best (which doesnt seem like much because he looks like he dislikes everyone all the time, but thats beside the point). he is clearly and openly on bryces side about everything that happened, and he isnt afraid of making them uncomfortable by proving it. though, despite all that, there is some part of jensen that understands why they did what they did (and thinks its horrible of them to make it their childrens problem). jensen also loves keiki and absolutely considers her family, especially because he can see similarities between her and himself at that age. shes sassy and witty and blunt, all qualities they share, but he also knows what can cause that in a person so young.
in all honesty, jensens foster parents dont really care that bryce is a part of jensens life. they're nice, and they care about jensen, but they also know how jensen is, and that hes independent. they helped jensen through a lot of growing and mindset adjustments when he was younger, but they know hes come a long way, and if bryce is a good person to have in his life, they respect that. jensens foster sister is a little more apprehensive (called him 'pretty boy' in the first minute of meeting him, so), but after a few nights of hanging out and seeing how bryce is with her kids, she knows hes a decent person and trusts him (but would still kick his ass if need be)
bryce doesnt dislike jensens foster parents. he knows how things were, and how bitchy jensen was when he moved in with them, so he knows they did the best they could, but their home and energy is always very sterile. it always seems like a rinse repeat conversation with them, like they have no true opinions or connection points, and thats just not somthing bryce clicks with. he gets along well with jensens foster sister, and definitely enjoys going out for a few drinks with her, but they're very different people and dont connect more than surface level
jensens mom and step family love bryce, but it isnt necessarily reciprocated. long story short, jensens mom married rich, and has become too used to having unlimited funds. its really difficult for her to come back down to ground level, and its almost like shes never really listening? she just moves on quickly and is more interested in talking about unimportant, fun things than what jensen (and bryce) values. his step family is spoiled and preppy, and they only like bryce for his fun personality and the fact that he came from money. jensen really doesn't click with them, and bryce makes more of an effort than he does, but its almost painful to try and get through a conversation with all of them
bryce can appreciate jensens mom for a fun conversation, but beyond that he knows how difficult it can be to have an actual conversation with her. he respects everything she did for her and jensen, and that she's ambitious and goes for what she wants (def qualities jensen inherited), but he doesnt like that she wasn't always the most considerate of jensen in those situations. as far as jensens step family, he just doesnt like them at all. theyre a lot like the people his family grew up around, and neither he nor jensen have any desire to be around that

Anyways. My version of Zeus next to LOs Zeus.
My Zeus is more close to accuracy but he does stray away from the more..r*pey aspects of actual Zeus, like yes he did commit those atrocities and he acknowledges that. His appearance is based off of Idris Elba as Heimdal in the MCU, cuz I use him as a FC for an RPG.
He has an eagle tattoo with a lightning.
Hes evil and isnt shy about showing this, hes the villain and he finds it funny how must people think its either Hades or Hera but it does annoy him cuz hes not good at all.
