For example. Today I noticed that I must've lost quite a bit of weight (a jacket I could barely zip up a few months ago now fits with room to spare), and I have no clue why. I eat. Eat a lot, actually, and a lot of snacks and sweets. I don't work out much, not nearly enough to explain anything

But if I were to go to a doctor, I'm 99% sure they'd just tell me it's good I'm losing weight and dismiss me

the nice thing about actively playing thru jarilo again is hyper analyzing every little thing sa.mpo does in a new light because each time i go back to play there's just a bit more information in my arsenal to apply to everything so far the only thing i've been drawn back to ( this happens literally every single playthru for me ) is the way that d.an he.ng gets on his ass pretty immediately following sa.mpo from the fight club. like i'm forever hung up on him calling sa.mpo dangerous not once but twice. and it's not entirely clear if he's implying that sa.mpo simply "knows more than he lets on" or if "sa.mpo is capable of probably Not So Great Things if he poisoned not just me but all of us and is Also Sus AF, so be careful with trusting him" all wrapped up into one. which i love because it's even beyond the whole furnace core thing replaying also helps find nuances in his speech , no matter the language. tho i'm gonna have to review cn vo again because jpn vo is really peppering in the "bro" and "sis" even tho in the english subtitles those words are nowhere to be found, not even in any poorly translated form.

It seems like he didn't expect me to say that, and there's a hint of interest in his eyes.

Lucien: (chuckle) More than willing.

I wink at him and my bound hands loop around the back of his neck, pulling him gently towards me.

MC: That would trouble you to swing the key again, teacher.

Lucien obediently applies force with his fingertips, but the gradually deepening smile in his eyes shows that he is not at all under anyone's control.

The silver key swings as I let my gaze linger on his thin lips for a moment, then I lightly bite his lip.

I put my legs down from the hammock, bend my knee, and slowly press it between his legs, climbing up little by little.

His indifferent gaze freezes for a moment, and as his Adam's apple bobs, a rare blush suddenly creeps up to the corners of his eyes.

Seeing this, I mischievously increase the pressure on my knee until it lightly passes a scorching hot area.

Lucien: (grunts sexily)...

A sultry grunt escapes his throat, and the fingers that have been holding me tightly around the waist suddenly tighten even more. I press heavily against him as the curtains sway together.

The crisp sound of metal hitting the ground suddenly comes, and I can't help but look down. I see the silver key already slipping from his hand and falling to the ground.

I was about to say something when a cold touch fell on my face, and the darkening sky began to drizzle with small raindrops.

Lucien: (grunts and whispers hoarsely) Do you need to continue checking?

A hoarse voice comes through, and I fall into that hazy and enticing gaze, my mind swaying slightly.

I instinctively grip the back of his neck tightly and wrap my legs around his waist, until there is no gap left between us.

MC: Of course we should continue.

I lightly hook my leg and kick the silver key on the ground away. Lucien deeply looks at me, momentarily in a daze.

MC: How could the teacher be distracted while checking the answer?

I wink at him, my fingertips lightly exerting pressure on the back of his head, bringing us closer again.

MC: I want you to focus only on the present moment, on my breath, my touch, and my kisses.

Amidst increasingly scorching breaths, I hook my fingers around his neck and trace his gentle eyes inch by inch with my gaze.

MC: Isn't this the principle that Professor Lucien wants to tell me?

His burning breath is slightly stagnant. Lucien's eyes flicker gently, like a soft bright white moonlight.

The next moment, his palm moves to my lower back, giving a firm push as he lifts me up from the hammock and strides toward the room.

Lucien: You're really a clever girl.

Those delighted eyes keep gazing at me, full of warmth and tenderness.

We walk to the room like this, until I am gently placed on the sofa and he unties the silk from my wrist.

In the next second, Lucien moves forward, his reassuring scent makes me feel unbalanced, but my heart is filled with joy.

Lucien: Congratulations to this student for passing my "test." However, I want to share the most important lesson.

I feel a moist sensation on my back as his lips graze over it, causing a ticklish sensation that spreads through my body.

MC: …What?

The arm around my waist tightened, and a deep breath fell on my back again, mixed with the wet and tingling sensation, creating a great sense of satisfaction.

Lucien: I have always felt that "eternity" is a very abstract adjective.

Lucien was invited by a newly engaged couple from the Ultima Bioresearch Centre to attend their engagement banquet as their witness. 2.0 commentary below, re: that conversation between Ratio and Aventurine

I haven't actually seen anyone talking about it say explicitly what happened, so I thought I'd break that wall a little.

Ratio was notably racist (or at the very least xenophobic) towards Aventurine.

There's no denying or softening it at all. I don't think Ratio is a bad person, clearly he is not, but that does not absolve him of the awfulness of what he said. There's a lot of importance in the hostility Ratio displayed towards Aventurine towards that moment, and I am actually very thankful that hyv didn't cut corners with that interaction and put Ratio on the same level as Sparkle, who has far less morals than he does (and also called Aventurine a prostitute for power in the CN dub, jfc). But despite his harsh tongue and critical attitude, he doesn't... give an impression of having that sort of bias to him. What matters to him is intelligence, so why did he say the things he did?

With my take on Ratio I've established that he does view the IPC as much as a threat and with as much disdain as the Genius Society, both despite and because of his affiliation with the Intelligentsia Guild. He doesn't like working with any of the higher ups in the first place, and they're on a high stakes mission on Penacony right now. For all of Ratio's quick thinking and ability to improvise, he strikes me as someone who quite heavily relies on plans, and not being on schedule with a strict time limit puts him extremely on edge. It was made abundant the moment he opened his mouth: his first complaint was Aventurine's tardiness. He was late. Ratio was counting the seconds until Aventurine showed up, he was stressed.

So he already doesn't trust Aventurine just due to the nature of his affiliation, and he is upset because of the situation they're in, but there's also hostility directed at Aventurine personally. Whether Aventurine's personality and attitude is born from the nature of his people or because he's playing into the horrid reputation they have is unknown, but I'm inclined to believe the latter. Regardless, everyone displays some level of wariness towards him because of it and his occupation. I don't think Aventurine expected Ratio to dig up what he did (and likely more) about him, but I do think Ratio did it with the intent to weaponize his status, his past, his vulnerabilities against him because of his view of Aventurine as a threat.

(I'd also like to comment on part of his hostility towards Aventurine being due to protectiveness over the Trailblazer, because he very plainly snaps at Aventurine for attempting to rope the Nameless into the situation.)

But rather than what he said then, what's more striking to me is what happened after. Aventurine did not get hostile or lash out in turn, nor did he outwardly express any upset at Ratio's comments or lack of trust. Instead he offered a calm and personal correction, and that to me is what led Ratio to both regret his comment and adjust his perspective on Aventurine. It's evident in how his body language immediately shifted: from furrowed eyebrows, a combative tone, arms crossed and tucked close to his body, to a relaxed face and stance and much softer voice as he backpedaled. I like that because it shows that for all of Ratio's hostility, he really doesn't mean to harm anyone regardless of his opinion on them, and it's clear that he did. How does one weaponize a person's status as a (former?) slave against them so heartlessly and thoughtlessly? This exchange was a reminder that Aventurine is not just some threat but also human, and a reminder to himself that he is human too, and he is subject to prejudice (that he might not even be aware of) and clouded judgement that need to be corrected from time to time. I don't want to call his comment a slip-up, because it was definitely intentional, but I don't believe that it was done purely because of Aventurine's race unlike Sparkle's comment. And clearly, he regretted it. He overstepped. I like to think it was this moment that fostered some respect for Aventurine within Ratio, mostly because Aventurine's very gracious handling of his very ungracious fuck up.

I'm not trying to defend Ratio's comments with this, mind you, only try to get into his mindset and understand the perspective behind him saying what he said. This exchange does lead me to wonder, though, what led to the reputation of the Sigonians being as awful as it is for multiple characters to comment on it. Whatever it is, whether legitimate or (very likely) IPC propaganda, it was potent enough for the stigma to spread to even Ratio, enough for him to be willing to use it as an attack.

it honestly really upsets me that people act like being gay means you get shot on sight in china when the reality is that its not even ilegal to be gay in china right now. I don't mean this to say that queer people in china do not face any oppression, like conversion therapy is still legal and there's a lot of pressure for people to be straight, but people in the west really act like china is devoid of queer people, meanwhile being queer in china is not really all that different than being queer in a homophobic US state. And this isn't even like some hidden information you have to be chinese to know, i literally found out about it on wikipedia.

Tbh it's more of a culture/societal thing, and doesn't have much to do with the cn government. In China there is no legal penalty of any kind for being lgbt, and the law will not force people to be straight cis. The only thing is gay marriage isn't legal (yet), but aside from that, in terms of the law lgbt people are just like everyone else. Media-wise, so far as I know, the official policy is that official media outlets (such as cctv) are not against lgbt, but will not openly endorse lgbt either. If it's a privately owned media outlet/company, then obviously this does not apply; for example CQL/Untamed was produced by Tencent. For people who still don't know, all shows will need to be approved by government agencies before release, and people can say what they want about shows needing approval (that's another topic), the fact that shows like CQL, MDZS, TGCF, and various other audio dramas exist and we can watch them or listen to them should tell you that no, the cn government is NOT against the existence of lgbt content in popular media. Society-wise there is a lot of pressure against lgbt, however (more pronounced in older generations), but it's already getting better with the younger generations. This is all openly available information so yea, I definitely understand your frustrations. I remember my highschool teacher said "the internet is a great treasure trove of information and people will be better informed because of it", and yet here we are. The reality is that people will only see what they want to see, and that's it. People wanted to see China as "an evil country devoid of personal freedoms" because of propaganda and racism, and so they did, and they will find things to back up their bias, even if those things are blatant lies.

Honestly judging by how things are going in those homophobic US states right now, living in China as a lgbt person might actually be safer lol, since China doesn't have a mainstream religion that is so openly and adamantly anti-lgbt.

Am bored so heres my headcanon on what kpop artists Yakuza characters would listen to.

Disclaimer: I'm not that familiar with anything recent in the kpop. The most recent you would see here is around mid-2010s.

Kiryu

Of course his no. 1 idol is Haruka. But for kpop it would have to be Girls Generation.

Its all because while playing Y5 where hes a taxi driver and takes place in 2012. I concluded that he has to have listened to Mr Taxi and was like "thats me :)" and i guess from then on he considered himself a SONE (or just a fan idk if he would know about fandom names lol)

Majima

A girl group/solo artists stan.

Definitely a huge inspiration for Goromi and her performances lol

And his collection of albums played for all the Majima Construction crew while they work.

I made a Goromi playlist (priv atm) which I just put in a bunch of female kpop artists in.

This includes artists like Kara, 9Muses, EXID, Miss A, Sunmi, Hyuna, AOA, Sistar, T-ara, Brown Eyed Girls, Lee Hyori, After School...and yeah alot of artists i put in lol

Akiyama

This was all based on a meme I saw on twitter where Akiyama is a Blackjack on stan twitter lol

So I can see Akiyama being a fan of 2NE1. Started listening to them when he saw it was popular with the hostesses and staff of club Elise and they shared it with him.

Tanimura

He would listen to a general amount of artists but would have a lot of interest in artists that have an international appeal...Wonder Girls "nobody" anyone?

(...OK that is the thing with kpop lol especially since it has a presence in Japan for awhile)

I mean like a multicultural image or just have non-Korean members. I can see Tanimura immediately taking interest in those types.

You make a post praising Helluva for usage of references, but Villainous gets shamed. I'm sensing some obv bias

There is no bias. It's simply how it is. The references used for the latest ep of Helluva make sense with the characters and the scene. Moxxie starts off telling his backstory with Chaz in an overly dramatic way, so it makes sense for him to end it the same, especially with that other reference to Titanic. Plus, their questioning if that stuff even happened since it was a reference, adds more to the joke. The second reference made was of Millie and Blitzo "pulling a Shrek", which is what they did. They stopped a forced marriage very dramatically with some kickass music behind it.

Plus, these are mainly meant for the audience to pick up on, rather than for the characters to realize they're even doing it. It's quick, it's in-character, and it makes sense to the scene. Also, Shrek and Titanic are fairly timeless and you rarely find someone around my age group that haven't watched them.

Meanwhile, Villainous used Jojo references because...Sexy BH and the others were ripped? Also, Flug saying "as the song goes...remember me" doesn't really work, especially knowing the context of Coco. It feels like they're mainly saying things and hoping for a chuckle. Not to say these things aren't relevant, esp on the internet, but it feels like they just fall back mainly onto references (whether it be in the foreground or background). And if it isn't pop culture references, they make references to LATAM media, which is fine. The problem is that if Alan really wants this to also be for American audiences, then they're going to feel fairly alienated with those jokes.

Not to mention Villainous heavily relies on other CN shows to make their jokes.

Also, the other jokes are what you would typically expect from those characters like BH being evil, Dem acting crazy or lustful for BH, Flug having breakdowns or getting easily angered or being a punching bag, and 505.....existing. And that isn't to say that Helluva doesn't do the same (like you expect something raunchy to come from Blitzo), but they still switch it up at times (like Blitzo being flustered over Striker bringing up his deal with Stolas, having to try his best to explain that he isnt Stolas' boyfriend, while the others are just smirking because....they know the truth lol). While Villainous hammers in those exact same jokes over and over again with the characters that it becomes slightly predictable.

If you don't find them funny in Helluva, that's perfectly fine, but I'm not being biased. Hell, the last ep had a whole joke of Blitzo being "Brandon Ragers" or whatever and I didn't care for it at all. It was too much and overdone. I'm just simply giving my thoughts tis all

sadly our boy has no debate over his worst style.

objectively worst:

my personal post-runch worst: the hair was fine but why did they style it like this, fake love era had many of my boys in shambles.

my personal favorite: i know he said he hated this hair which just goes to show men don't know anything.

yoongi —

aside from the goofy early japan photoshoots and the braids hat (which i'm not counting bc they're Too Obvious), yoongi doesn't miss much? perhaps he is more principled than the rest of his bandmates.

objectively worst: the terf era aka backup friar tuck.

my personal worst: i'm so sorry but i hated this hair. this shit was burnt to a crisp and the tone washed him out and they did him so dirty.

personal favorite: he has a lot of excellent looks and it was hard to choose one. i'm picking the daechwita undercut but please know his current long hair and the half-crimp are VERY close seconds.

hoseok —

another one that doesn't miss often but it does happen.

objectively worst: hobi's cns era hair (the honey brown with the blond highlights) is one of my all-time favorites, and then they did this. just no.

personal worst: i had a hard time choosing, bc early bangtan seems like such a copout and 2014 was rough, but he honestly doesn't miss much so i gave in. give our boy a texturizing spray.

personal favorite: love everything about this. the perm, the texture, the cut, the color. one forehead smooch for this stylist.

objectively worst: skipping over some of the early stuff bc it's a copout, another crispy, over-dyed mess. he earns points back for the ponytail, though, bc if there's anything i'm a sucker for it's long hair.

my personal worst: this is what got me roasted. i hate this hair with a passion. no, i can't explain it, i just hate it.

personal favorite: a sleeper pick. did you expect this one, bc it's had me in a feral rage since he posted this photo. jess said this choice "said a lot about me."

i think the stylists took out most of their frustrations on the hyung line, bc i don't think the maknaes have had many misses? but there are definitely some.

objectively worst: no question. she was bad.

personal worst: it's so bad i had to put it twice.

my personal favorite: the blond mullet was close but there can only be one. this is very close to my favorite bangtan hair ever, not just on tae.

objectively worst: i don't want to bully a child but his hair hasn't often been bad so he left me with no choice. he gets a pass bc we all probably had questionable hair as teenagers within such close proximity of our idol, runch randa.

personal worst: another apology, but i wasn't a fan of this one dlfgijld. the cut was top-tier but the purple was too purple and i think it washed him out.

personal favorite: i literally could not choose between these so you get both. i know the wp21 were clip-ins but they deserve to have their recognition for how immaculate they were.

I told myself I wasn't going to ever make this post. Because I had hope. Because I wanted to believe that Miraculous had decent writing and that the sentiadren theory was not the pinnacle of what they could accomplish. Then season 5 happened. The first few episodes were good, it even forced me to make my blog solely Miraculous themed because the interactions I had with everyone were so much fun. Heck youve seen the reaction posts I did both in character and as myself.

(under the cut is a bunch of writing that you can take as me explaining my reasoning or just complaining. Either way, if you're hoping for anymore Miraculous content from me? Stories or screen caps, you best unfollow. Because I'm done.)

But then the leaks came. And, like an ancient being unable to properly use Facebook, I failed to avoid them. I told myself that certain spoilers didn't matter, that I could wait until the actual episodes came out to decide whether or not the salt was justified, that with a terrible memory like mine I'd forget it in no time (just look at some of the other screw ups I've made regarding Miraculous, it's not that far fetched.) However, as the number of Miraculous tags and blogs I followed began to grow the number of consenting opinions grew as well.

There are those who hate Marinette for being obsessed or a stalker when it comes to Adrien (who Id like to point out has had several episodes where we've seen his obsessed stalkers. Now Wayhem is creepy.) Those who love her and believe that all against her should suffer (which I was briefly a part of and still must fight my Alya bias even now.) And the same goes for the rest of the characters. But I still wanted to sit back and form my own opinions as cleanly as possible.

Needless to say, I failed. The more I stepped back and looked at the episodes, the more spoilers I failed to avoid to the episode screenshots I saw despite not having seen said episode yet. It all resulted in one clear opinion in my mind. Season 5 is a letdown. Not only because it's an out of order mess with the release dates but because it seemed more and more like pandering. Sentitheory is confirmed, Adrinette becomes canon, Lila gets revealed, Chloe gets punished and we get some LGBTQ+ recognition in the form of Zoe. (And Miss Bustier if I'm hearing right but I'm not really sure about that one.)

That should have been great, I'm all for writers letting the fans know they're appreciated. I was a brony during the 100th episode. That was like ambrosia for us fans. This? Felt like bad fanfiction and I know bad fanfiction, I've written tons of it. Firstly, why Zoe? If you're going to piss off Disney and other broadcasters, which I believe is why it was never done before, then why not confirm Rose and Juleka? Or Marc and Nathaniel? Why spend an episode saying something the fandom had basically decided the moment Zoe first showed up? And apparently it's just an end of episode confirmation where Marinette says she's flattered? I mean I get it but really? I don't know whether to be proud of her for not making a big deal of it or disappointed that the show doesn't make a bigger deal of it considering just how hard a confession like that can be. But you know what? I haven't watched the episode and I'm not going too so I probably shouldn't judge it.

What I will judge the everloving shit out of is the handling of Luka and Chloe. Luka must leave Paris because he knows who LB and CN are. That makes sense, we've seen in Star train that HawkMoth can't really sense or control his akuma's once they leave Paris so they'd have to leave to hunt Luka down. However Luka found out halfway through last season and, outside Ephemeral (which is its own set of issues) is never brought up. Seriously? I'm all for the Lukagami team up (which didn't actually end in Lukagami) for getting Adrinette together but you couldn't have had him pop up in a few more episodes to have him give excuses for the heroes to get away? Maybe pop up a bit more in support of Adrien? I'd be more upset if I hadn't known about the whole Luka leaving Paris, along with the Zoe confession, since BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED. But again, seperate issues.

And then there's Chloe. Oh Chloe. Now I wouldn't call myself a Chloe Stan. Until I actually started writing out ideas I didn't like her. She's the civilian foil to Marinette who is only put up with because her Daddy's the mayor and Adrien remembers when they had fun as little kids. The terrible airing of episodes didn't help either. Had I not been taking notes on every episode and had they not marathoned them on tv leading up to the release of the movies, I would have never put the pieces of her character together. Her self doubt, her abandonment by her mother, Mr. Cuddles and sucking her thumb? That is not the actions of evil incarnate. And what does the show do? LITERALLY REPLACE HER WITH ZOE!

And I don't mean the salty fans complaining about Mary Zoe as a replacement. No, the show doubles down by having the mayor adopt Zoe and send Chloe off with the mother who refuses to get her name right that Chloe doubts actually loves her. That? Is beyond fucked up. That? Is something I'd have written back when I didn't fully understand how tribulations and pain were parts of character growth. Just a simple "nah, Chloe bad. Zoe better. Just have Zoe." Seriously do you know how long it took me to realise that you can't just get rid of the bad guy if you want to make a good story?

And then, to cap it all off. HawkMoth gets his wish. On the bright side, if you wanted to know why Bunnix didn't show up until Evolution or during Ephemeral? That's why. Apparently Marinette feeling like a complete and utter failure is necessary for the future Alix comes from to happen. In fact, had Ephemeral happened before Wishmaker? Wed basically be watching season 6 right now. How else was Luka supposed to know what the hell Ladybug was talking about? Dudes not that smart I'm sorry. Hell nobody in the show is.

Seriously, who's genius fucking idea was it to have HawkMoth win this far into the show? Need I remind all of you how the wish is meant to work? It's a reset. A complete erasure and rewrite. There should be no "keeping secrets from Adrien" drama because, as far as the entire UNIVERSE is aware Emilie Agreste never vanished and whatever happened to Gabriel always happened. Hell the only one keeping secrets in this new world should be the kwamis since they're apparently the only ones who recognise what a reset looks like meaning they've experienced it before. And apparently they're all with their holders in this new universe? Hell I may watch the last episode just to figure out what crap they pull to try and explain everything. And why we should care about anything that happened in the past 8 YEARS if the "grand plan" of Astruc was just to erase it!

..... Sorry. I got way more frustrated towards the end there than I should have. If you have read this entire thing? Thanks and I'm sorry if I've wasted your time. What started out for me as a wonderful show about magic and love and typical good vs evil has now appears to have devolved into lazy writing, character assassination, retcons and repetition. I don't want to be one of the people who blame ZAG or TA or the writers about the problems of the show. That's more anger and salt then I need in my life. I'm just saying that, if this is the direction they choose to take it, that this was always the end point? Then I'm getting off here.
