Las cosas son bastante extrañas desde que me enteré que siempre tuve una familia. Lady Ruth y Jamie han sido muy cariñosos conmigo. Quieren compensar por el tiempo perdido. Aún no me acostumbro a sus muestras de afecto, aunque de todos modos las disfruto.
La última vez que fui a visitarlos ella me dijo que quería reconocerme como su nieto. Legalmente y ante la sociedad.
—Es lo que te mereces, Simon. Eres parte de esta familia. Y quiero que el mundo lo sepa—dijo.
Rompí a llorar después de escucharla. Lady Ruth (Decirle Abuela aún me parece extraño) me consoló, abrazándome un largo rato (Otra cosa a la que debo acostumbrarme) Cuando me calmé, fuimos a la cocina a comer los sándwiches que ya tenía preparados para mí. Baz llegó, con intención de recogerme, una hora después.
Al final, nos quedamos a dormir en su casa. Creo que, si nos mudaramos con ella, estaría muy feliz.
Eso fue hace un par de semanas. Mañana temprano, tenemos una cita con un abogado: Lady Ruth va a darme su apellido. Después dará una fiesta, con algunas de sus amistades más cercanas, para presentarme formalmente como Simon Salisbury.
Simon Snow Salisbury. Supongo que ese debió ser siempre mi nombre.
(No pienso, ni por un segundo, considerar como mío el nombre del hechicero. Él no merece esa consideración)
Mi nombre, mi nuevo nombre, no deja de dar vueltas en mi cabeza.
—Es gracioso pensar que siempre nos hemos llamado por nuestros segundos nombres.—Le digo a Baz
Estamos en la cama, él tiene la cabeza sobre mi pecho. Y yo acaricio su cabello, pasándolo entre mis dedos. Amo las noches tan tranquilas como esta. Más aún porque mañana nos espera un día agitado.
—Jamás lo hubiera imaginado.Sólo lo hacía para mantener mi distancia contigo.—responde, y suena cansado.
Cuando hablamos del pasado, suele ponerse un poco triste. Me inclino para besar su frente.
—Va a ser extraño acostumbrarme a un nuevo apellido… pero me emociona la idea.
Baz se acomoda sobre uno de sus costados y me jala para que yo quede en esa misma posición.
—Ahora tú también vas a tener un nombre ridículamente largo.
—Supongo que de verdad nos complementamos.
Lo abrazo, mi pierna está sobre su cadera. Incluso tengo mi cola alrededor de su muñeca y mis alas nos cubren a ambos. A veces siento que no merezco la vida y todo lo que tengo ahora.Aunque estar a su lado me demuestra lo equivocado que estoy.
Estoy por quedarme dormido cuando escucho a Baz reír suavemente.
—¿Qué pasa?
—Estaba pensando en que algún día habrá un pequeño Pitch-Salisbury por allí.
Con imaginar a nuestra propia familia, la calidez me invade. No hemos hablado de tener bebés de forma seria. Aún no, obviamente, pero en el futuro. Si, quiero eso.
—O un Salisbury-Pitch.

Hello friends! We are officially only 10 days away from the beginning of this year's Carry On Countdown. How's everyone doing? The admins are very excited for Nov 25th, and we hope the fandom is prepared for all of the fabulous content coming its way. As mentioned in our prompt post, we wanted to give our lovely admins the chance to introduce themselves. Here they are:
Raegan: Hello darlings, I’m Raegan from @carryonmylovelies and I can’t wait to feast on all of your submissions for this year. A few fun facts about myself are that I work in the fire protections industry as a fire alarm inspector, I adore all things queer and gory, and I make a mean pumpkin pie. This is actually my 4th year as an admin for the carry on countdown, and honestly, my year would be so incomplete without all of the preparation every autumn 🫶. Carry On was unleashed upon me almost 7 years ago and I feel that it’s an utter privilege to be able to return to this beloved event year after year. The countdown is a cherished and important queer tradition that clings to my heart, and I deeply treasure every bit of content that it inspires. I’m thrilled to see what you all have in store for us. Canadian Olympians push for opposition to Russians in Paris
March 8, 2023
A group of 42 retired Canadian Olympians urged the Canadian Olympic Committee to reject the idea of allowing Russians to participate in next year’s Paris Games unless Russia withdraws from Ukraine.
“We condemn recent public statements issued by the COC supporting the ‘exploration of a pathway’ for Russians and Belarusians to compete as ‘neutrals’ in the 2024 Paris Olympics,” the Canadians wrote in a statement released Wednesday.
Opening that door, the athletes said, “sends a message that the COC is no longer concerned with Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine.”
Signing the statement was a who’s-who of Canadian Olympic greats and gold medalists, including Hayley Wickenheiser (hockey), Jenn Heil and Alex Bilodeau (freestyle skiing), Tessa Virtue (skating) and Beckie Scott (cross-country skiing).
Russian and Belarusian athletes have been largely excluded from international competition since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last February. The International Olympic Committee seeks a pathway back for those athletes to compete without officially representing their countries, citing human-rights experts who argue the athletes should not be discriminated against solely because of their passports.
“Refusing their participation in international sport is not simply a matter of denying athletes a choice to compete because of their passport, it is a rejection of an unlawful and inhumane war and a recognition of the role international sports plays in geopolitics,” the Canadians wrote.
The COC has walked a fine line in staking out a position. Last month, secretary general David Shoemaker suggested athletes from the banned countries should be made to publicly speak out against the war to gain the neutral status they would need to participate.
Canada’s was also among a group of 35 governments that released a statement last month saying that, without clarity on a workable neutrality model, “we do not agree that Russian and Belarusian athletes should be allowed back into competition.”
Both the COC and the governments have stopped short of stating that Russians should not be allowed.
In their statement, the Canadian Olympians said a requirement for Russians to declare opposition to the war is “unfounded and out of touch.”
“For example, it is illegal in Russia to publicly denounce military actions abroad, and virtually impossible for high-profile athletes to oppose the war,” the statement said.
It also used instances in 2018 and 2021 when Russians could compete not under their country’s flag — but instead under the titles of “Olympic Athletes from Russia” and “Russian Olympic Committee” due to doping sanctions — as examples of how “separation of athlete from state is an impossible task.”
The letter also points out that the war began shortly after last year’s Winter Games in Beijing, which was highlighted by a high-profile meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping before the opening ceremony.
“The Beijing 2022 Games helped set the stage for and dictated the timing of the initial invasion, sports facilities in Ukraine have been targeted by the Russian attacks, and Russian athletes have been elevated to high-ranking military positions and used in war propaganda,” the letter said.
It concluded that “no pathway should be considered” for Russians or Belarusians to compete in Paris until Russia “fully withdraws from Ukraine.”

Masterlist for More Recent Meta
My old essay masterlist was written during the time I was still actively playing Choices, and often went into detail on the diamond scenes of certain characters. But in more recent years, I began writing essays stemming from asks I recieved. I couldn't put them in that masterlist because it was too full by then, and over time all my essays/meta posts became difficult to track. I thought it would be a good time to compile them in a separate place.
Many of these essays were written around 2019-2021, and a lot may have happened since the writing of those. So do understand that some of them were written at a time when the full story was not out, but the arguments behind them often still hold.

hello i am here to present my campaign to name slimecicle + cellbit dmduo:
i’ve seen twitter calling them rpgduo, and while it makes sense it’s also a bit generic and boring (not that dmduo is much better, but still.) going with the rpg thing, they’re both heavily invested in their rpg series, cellbit with ordem paranormal and charlie with just roll with it!
ordem has been talked about a lot in and around the server, but for those that don’t know jrwi is a D&D podcast (+ other rpgs) charlie is in! the show started all the way back in 2018, though their current main campaign has been running since about the start of 2021. they have a number of different series in a bunch of different games (D&D, M&M, CoC, VtM), but the one i want to highlight is Blood in the Bayou, the only horror-themed campaign on the show and that charlie himself ran! (it’s really good and even got a killer soundtrack, with just 4 episodes i highly recommended checking it out 👍)
so i’m just saying. the two guys known for being ttrpg nerds. being the ones running their respective horror series/campaigns. dm duo 🤝

Let's talk about Shoma...NHK edition...
Two 2nd places and Shoma is in the GPF. He had a much better free skate than at CoC. So it should be something to be happy about. But clearly I am not.
If you have seen my post from CoC you know that I am not upset about Shoma getting 2nd, I am upset about the way he got 2nd. Fight me on this but in any other tech panel of the season he would have a 195+ score for his skate, if not even 200. (And if you looked at the tech box it was 106 TES and that would have given him a 198 score even with those PCS) I don't want to speculate about any political games or anything, for now I simply want to believe Shoma was simply disliked by the tech panel ppl.
(And btw I like Yuma a lot and I am happy he is back! Iif one is winning over Shoma, I am happy if it's Yuma just not like this and this isn't Yuma's fault ofc, so nothing against Yuma.)
What's most sad about Shoma's silver today is that it made him question competing and his abilties. 😭😭😭
He felt good about his performance and then tech panel completely deflated all positive feelings. His comments are so defeated. Ofc he is Shoma so his reaction is still polite and everything and he smiled at Yuma and interacted like normal. But still this is a new low. He perfomed good, he did all combos, landed the 4F and Axels that he was insecure about in the practice, even yoloed a 4T which alone shows his superiority bc who else can do that??? And yet it wasn't enough for the fcking judges to give him high scores.
We all knew Shoma wasn't gonna skate forever and I always knew that it could very well be his last season, but his comments didn't sound so final, so I thought there was maybe a tiny bit hope he'd still continue. But today I am not even sure he will not retire after Nats. I have my doubt he would neglect the opportunity if he's selected for Worlds but if you'd ask him today he probably won't go. Pulling a Tatsuki Machida never seemed more real...and part of me wouldn't even mind. I would lie if I say I won't be sad about Shoma's retirement, but all I really want is him happy and if competing isn't making him happy anymore...better retire on own terms than the Jfed and ISU waving you goodbye by lowballing you...
I hope though that while his comments now are negative, that he will rethink the attitude bc it's not him who has reached a limit or who isn't capable of better scores, it's a fcking judging mishap. Keiji said his 4Loop was brilliant and rotation clean, Shoma himself said he was surprised about the 4Lo and 4T being called (as he could see his landing), Stephane shook his head at the score, no it's not your fault Shoma. And I hope he gets the prep talks of his life by his surroundings!
There are two ways this could lead to, Shoma being on the verve of retiring and motivation for competition is completely lost or Shoma is fired up and rebounds stronger than ever from this disappointment with new fire. As Shoma fans we have seen many ups and downs of Shoma and usually Shoma always came back stronger. Ppl saying that's the end for him after IdF 2019 -he went on to win JNats, ppl saying he is done at WTT 2021 proceeds to win an Olympic medal and World Gold 2022, let's see what happens now...atm a positive way seems impossible but after a few days the world may not seem as dark...
I am truly furious for his 2nd place and petty me who thought I could stand seeing Shoma in 2nd is now completely on skating gods pls let Shoma win all Gold medals from now on as perfect revenge arc 🔥🔥🔥

Hello and yes, yes, we know the drill El WooWoo but ALSO happy Spotify Wrapped. Glee is my top artist. 8 songs of my top 10 are from the Heartstopper soundtrack. This makes sense. Anyway, thank you @martsonmars and @facewithoutheart for the tags. And a happy Spotify Wrapped to you.
I am having a blast with my COC fic There’s nothing ironic about show choir, especially since I just established that yes, there is a rivalry between choirs, but no, no one takes it as seriously as Simon and Baz and I am just obsessed with them not realising it since they’re too caught up in being obsessed with each other.
“What are you doing?”
I look up from my notebook.
Simon’s standing in the doorway.
“I live here, remember?” I deadpan.
“Yes, but you’re usually not… here.”
It’s true. We’ve been living here for over seven years, but we both avoid this place like the plague. It’s very hard to miss that we share the room, though. My wall is filled with violet banners, flags, crests and pennants with the Vitis logo. Simon’s wall is filled with the scarlet Rutaceae variants.
(Agatha hates it and wonders why we also have to take the rivalry outside of choir.) (Does she not see that there is no ‘outside of choir’?)
Ha, ha, ha, scarlet and violet where did I get that from?
It’s also Advent time TOMORROW 🤯🤯🤯. Time caught up with me cause I have nothing prepared yet apart from the two snippets that I’ve shared before. But I will be fine. I am prioritising my Klaine Secret Santa fic over the Advent one anyway, but I do want to start tomorrow. (I still need a goddamn title!)
I also have some... sentimental musings. I shall put them under the cut with the tags. It’s not a snippet, just some thots.
Basically I was going through my archive on this blog to find the other WIP Wednesday Hospital posts since I wanted to link them in last week’s post (please clap) and I saw that I first started doing these SSS/WW tags in October 2021, when Marta first tagged me. I remember being so nervous about it, and now it has become a nice habit that I look out for on a two-weekly basis.
And I just... I was just overwhelmed by it in a way? I did so much in 2021/2022 that I am proud of. There were also fics I didn’t like as much, but where the two-weekly support was so great. And that’s just what I like about fandom, be it Glee or CO. Joining spaces like the Lima Bean or the CO Discord or the Second Breakfast club was great. Having platforms like those above and the Advent and COC and what not come up with great challenges is wonderful. I’m glad that both my current main fandoms at the moment (get rekt Check, Please!) (actually no, I do want to write more Zimbits) are so active, especially Glee since that show ended 7 slutty, slutty years ago.
This is also why I am so eager to jump in on every challenge, because I want to show my appreciation for the people who take the time to organise Klaine fic challenges, even though it has led to what we now call my girlboss situation and I did tell myself yesterday that I am probably not going to do the Second Wave of the Klaine 3-2-1 Reverse Bang because it is getting too much otherwise.
And maybe I will not be able to keep up. It’s a miracle I haven’t skipped a single post ever since that first Sunday tag (I count the “nothing to show ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” ones as a post) and maybe I will fall into a dip but even then people come and go with these challenges and it is nice to know there is always a potentional audience. I know from my experience that I have also been super stoked when someone posts a new SSS/WW after a break.
But yeah those are just some of my thoughts. TL;DR: I love fandom. That's a lot more fics than I thought I'd posted this year! I think the ones I'm most happy with are Kiss me hard and Are you still mine.
Writing these fics also made me realise that I really like to include micro sex scenes in my fics. So you can expect more of that this year! I think my favourite is still the one in Kiss me hard, though it's extremely short (just one sentence, really.) and written months ago.
The fic I'm most frustrated with/least happy with is also my most beloved, Reader I married him. But I have plans for this fic. I hope I can make them happen in 2023.
I also have to say that (SNOW FOR CHRISTMAS SPOILERS) I felt pretty validated when I read SFC as what Rainbow revealed in it about the dog shared some similarities with what I'd written in this is goodbye. There were a lot of differences of course, but on some points, I wasn't completely far off 😂

GOALS FOR 2023/SIX RESOLUTIONS not SUNDAY: (thank you for the tag @shrekgogurt)
First and foremost, I want to finish my CORB fic (a twist of fates) this is a story I believe in and I want to tell it. I just struggle a lot. But I'm determined to finish it within the year.
I want to outline/fully write/post a fic I've been thinking about for a while. I want it to remain a secret for now but I will tell more about it in due time. I think, if I can manage to write these two fics, I'll be pretty happy
I would like to become a better writer. Be able to tell better, more complex stories.
More fandom related than fic related, but I am going to try to stop feeling like I don't belong with you all and that no one wants me here (which is something I've struggled with my entire life. It really has nothing to do with you guys. You're all lovely!) (I'm aware I need therapy 😂)
Possibly make more friends within the fandom. There are so many of you guys I would love to get to know better!
And I want to have more confidence in myself, in my ability to do things. I need to start seeing my worth. (This might seem more random but the fact that I don't believe in myself really has a deep impact on my fics. I want to write more so I need to trust myself more.)

Make It Up To Me, 8k, rated E
This was my main Erotic Gropefest collab with @stardustasincocaine and it's also probably the fic I wrote over the longest period of time? My schedule is really crazy so I'm usually a "sit down and bang it out" kind of writer (pun intended... this fic is VERY smutty lmao). I'm extremely proud of how it turned out, and Tessa's art for this fic is next level. TLDR: Dom/sub dynamic, lots of sex, lots of feelings.
The Edge of Memory, 8k, rated T
The only non-explicit fic that made my top 5! Lol. In contrast to the previous fic, this one I wrote in one crazy sprint in less than 12 hours as a pinch hit for @captain-aralias. I'm honestly kind of obsessed with how it turned out? Who knew I could write an interesting plot without sex? Not me. I also never did it again lmao. TLDR: Canon divergent amnesia fic where Simon loses his memory right after he defeats the Humdrum and the Mage and forgets all of 8th year.

This is probably my favorite thing I wrote for COC 2021, and I wrote... a lot. Like 50,000 words, more than I've ever written in that short a time before. I feel like this was the first truly filthy thing I ever wrote for the CO fandom, and I simply have not looked back since. This fic was a gift for @mostlymaudlin, who gave the most delicious and inspiring prompts (and also just makes delicious and inspiring content on the reg), and I reeeally wanted to do it justice for them. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. TLDR: Baz and Simon go on a ski vacation and fuck a lot. Bonus Brobelove!

This was the first fic I wrote after really connecting with other people in the fandom, and it was a gift for @caitybug :) It's sweet, a lil smutty, a little angsty. Honestly, I don't think it's as good as some of my more recent stuff, but it has a special place in my heart because it helped me connect to some of my fave fandom humans <3 TLDR: Simon works through his feelings both with sex and with words and a lot of help from Baz.

can’t stop thinking about gojo and his infinity and how he lets it down when he feels safe and comfortable but sometimes he can’t even do it then but sometimes he lets it down because he desperately craves human contact like,,, he let yaga put him in a headlock when he could have easily gotten out of it / not let him touch him. he let itadori and kugisaki hug him. not only that, but his infinity represents his love and trust and care. he trusts yaga wouldn’t hurt him and he cares about the kids and the fact that they are kids and it’s not like gojo probably got hugged much as a child,,, and how he probably let it down whenever he was with little megumi,,, and he never had infinity up around geto because it was geto and he trusted him and he loved him and he cared for him. and thinking about how it was probably up for awhile after toji brutally murdered him, but how he still let it down around geto, and eventually, shoko and yaga,,, and how it’s his own form of a love language, it’s the only way he knows to express vulnerability without it being perceived as weakness. if he’s not doing well, infinity goes up for awhile. and only those who know gojo satoru are able to catch it…

A fluffy fic where Simon and Baz meet after Simon moves and forgets to change his address. It's set during winter and I read it on a very hot day and it was so cool yet also cozy.

Marta wrote a LOT of really cool shit for COC 2021, but this one stands out to me. It's fun and fiery and whimsical. And theyr'e so in love. Also it's set in SPACE.

❤️❤️ thanks for the ask! I posted Santa Baby for COC 2021 and it was meant to be two parts. The first part sort of stands on its own, but I do have plans for the second part. It was just (TW: death of a child) really sad because it’s Baz coming to terms with Mordelia’s death. I fully plan to bring this back for next Christmas though.

Scoffing like he could read my thoughts, Niall joined me in looking at our latest stalker.
“It’s weird, right?” he said.
I hummed, wanting to agree but not being able to overcome the weird déjà vu I felt whenever I saw Off Duty Santa. Like I knew him from somewhere, but that the memory had been erased or distorted somehow.
In any case, the weirdest part of the man wasn’t the fact I found him familiar, it was the fact I found him attractive. Older men weren’t really my scene and yet this pseudo-Santa lurking around my holiday gig left me feeling distinctly weak in the knees.
And something else: how sometimes, in the wrong light, he looked almost… young. But I refused to dwell on this trompe l’oeil. My mind was hardly a bastion of sanity, those days.
Grief, after all, affects us in ways we couldn’t always imagine.

Fic #8: Left Wing
Letter B: share your favourite line or a headcanon about the fic.
Well well. This fic contains one of my favourite beginnings I've ever written, so that has to be my favourite line.
Which is:
“If you don’t put your cock in my arse right this second I’ll tell Bunce you’re against universal basic income.”
In case you haven't read this fic/forgot about it, I wrote it for the wing prompt of COC 2021, and it's about Stuck-In-His-Father's-Conservative-Party Baz and Proud-Socialist Simon having hate sex and then realising they might want something more.
I want to write a sequel for this, where Baz manages to fight for himself and abandon his father's party and start living his life, but haven't had the time to do it yet.
Though now I was rereading the last line of the fic, which is “I do”, and I had the perfect idea for the sequel. (A clue: what does I do remind you of?)
I don't know when I'll write it—too many projects, too many deadlines, so little time and motivation—but I might need an outlet for political thoughts very soon, so maybe I'll get inspired. (We're voting to elect a new parliament which will then determine the formation of a new government at the end of September, and it's very likely that the far right coalition will win. And when I say far right, I mean “wouldn't be that wrong to call them fascists”. I mean (CW rape) “the leader of one of the parties posted on social media a video where a woman gets raped just because she was raped by a Black man and said leader is deeply racist”. And I mean, they will win. Which scares me a lot. I just hope they won't win by a big margin because it would be pretty dangerous.)
Ok sorry for the rant but I'm angry and afraid. So yeah. Maybe I'll need to write a fic where socialist Simon kicks far right people in the ass and then elopes with Baz.
