I think (well actually I'm sure I know) you're referring to the Outlander panel at the NY ComicCon in 2021. This is the link to the entire panel/interview and this is the clip I made with the part you're referring to

If you listen to it (and watch it), it is not at all about Sam, it's about Cesar, the character he plays (Fergus) and how Lauren as Marsali is looking after the 3 children, their three children from the show. It has nothing to do with Sam, nor Cait and Maril isn't getting any heart attack.

I wrote, I'm sure to what interview you're referring, as I know where this question derives from. The shippers nonsense (they call it logic, we call it nonsense) on a blog, posting screenshots at random from the interview/panel and tell you what you need to see. So why do they not simply post the clip and just leave it to you what is really said or talked about and whatever reaction you see of the people present?

This is how it is done, just a simple example, they write '3 kids under 5' and put a random screenshot showing Sam there (they don't say how he's just looking at the presenter). The presenter says 'how does he even has time for this'. With 'he' Cesar's character Fergus is meant, but that's what they don't tell you. Instead they put again a random screenshot showing Sam. And when they say that Lauren commented about taking care of the kids (in the show!), all of the sudden they see 'a reaction' on Cait's face, who just smiles, and puts her hand under her chin, and that's what they call GOLD (!) Consequently someone in the comments adds that Maril is looking at Sam, she's actually looking at the screens where Cait, Cesar and Lauren are shown as they are not in person at the panel. But no, they simply put Maril words in her mouth saying 'Hope Sam doesn't give it away', and the next thing is they all of the sudden can read someones mind from a screenshot and know what Sam is thinking. It's mind blowing!

if these people were detectives who need to solve a crime case, you can't even blink your eyes at the wrong moment, or pick your nose at any point, you'd be guilty as charged in their book for it and they already put a sentence on the crime you never committed.

And this is just an example of the many deceiving posts they spread daily on here. I don't have anything against people who want to use a book story as sort of escapism for daily live and feel all happy by these kind of romantic fantasies. But they are fantasies, they are not real. Putting lies after lies, implying things daily on a blog, involving people, telling Cait's been pregnant for countless times (goodness gracious just the thought) and then posting pics where you can see a little belly (show me your belly cowards) and telling how people hide pregnancies. Questioning a boys paternity just because the father of the child is not the one that lives in your fantasy, or putting people in a church at a funeral who can not be there in any logic way (I still can't believe people did this and claim it as the ultimate evidence). All that (and lots more) is not only mind blowing, but bloody egoistic and despicable.

Anyway, see the interview for yourself and make up your own mind. Dream all about your fantasy figures, but for the love of us all don't make up stories any simple soul can see are totally unrealistic.

OKAY WELL it was a thing for a while with both Anne and Luz being character parallels - two teenagers lost in mysterious magical worlds and making friends and family all the while contending with the seeming inevitability of returning to their home dimensions. this only compounded further as both series went on and more and more parallels were able to be drawn between the two

theres also the fact that as far as "canon" interactions between the two of them have gone so far, first with the comiccon 2021 crossover reading and then the "amphibia house" chibi tiny tales episode from january '23..... well its all kinda. You Know

tl;dr i think its very cute because in many ways they're like the only people who could ever fully understand what the other's been through, and also every semicanon interaction between them has been nothing but positive and sweet

I'm curious what you are preparing for whumptober.

I - despite my intensifying university work - am trying to do every prompt for Whumptober as character centric one-shots. I’ve done it twice before in 2020 and 2021, but never posted anything. This year it’s all Silm characters, and I limit myself to using the same character for a prompt up to three times (or else it would be 50% Maedhros 😅).

So far I’ve written about Thuringwethil feeding on Maedhros, Melkor whispering in Mairon’s ear in Almaren, Celebrimbor not coping with Sauron’s betrayal, and Glorfindel finding out about Ecthelion’s death. More are planned to come including Tortured for Information for Finrod, Water Inhalation for Voronwë, and Panic for Elwing. Ideally I’d post them all in a multi chapter story on Halloween, but that’s when ComicCon is on in my city so we’ll see how that goes.

Here’s something from Wednesday’s prompt:

Shock

He kept speaking, but Glorfindel couldn’t hear him. His entire body had gone numb. The sounds of the battle were suddenly muffled, as if they were far away. His ears began to ring. No. His mouth opened slightly as he kept on scanning, his eyes darting all over the square, still trying to find Ecthelion. Not him. He couldn’t feel the weight of his armour, couldn’t feel the scratch of his robes or the pull of his hair. Something squeezed in his chest and didn’t let go. Not Ecthelion.

“No,” he said out loud, taking a step forward. The heat that had been present was starting to be replaced by a dull cold, something that was spreading through all his limbs. His hands started to shake. “No.”

He tried to take another step but Tuor put a hand on his chest. He looked down, as if he couldn’t quite believe it.

“It’s too late,” Tuor pleaded, meeting his gaze. “We have to go.”

My source of joy for today: making tiny screen accurate Leias! Tiny Leia 1.0 (on the left) was made in 2021, but I made some upgrades to her hair and boots this year, as well as properly pressing the hems on her dress. Tiny Leia 2.0 is an updated, more accurate dress pattern and boots. She is also incidentally Latina, which pleases me as a real life Latina Leia.

Both will be displayed this weekend at Emeral City Comiccon in the Star Wars room, and 2.0 will be raffled off to raise money for Mary Bridge Childrens

Cinco dias na CCXP 22

Se me contassem há alguns anos que em dezembro de 2022 eu estaria lançando uma HQ autoral no Artists Valley do maior evento da cultura pop do Brasil em São Paulo, eu com certeza não acreditaria. Sempre ouvi que "A CCXP é o vestibular dos artistas brasileiros." , "A CCXP é o mais importante evento geek e de quadrinistas do Brasil" e isso me fez querer ver de perto a grandiosidade da ComicCon Experience.

Essa é a segunda vez que sou selecionada, em 2021 a vacinação contra covid-19 ainda estava iniciando e havia muitas incertezas sobre o controle da pandemia, então o evento foi virtual e pude participar do conforto da minha casa em Barcarena, naquela edição inaugurei minha loja online e fiz lives falando de Purpúreo e Niara na plataforma da CCXP.

Desta vez, com a pandemia controlada pude participar do evento em sua casa, no São Paulo expo na capital paulista e preciso dizer que estar lá presencialmente não foi nada fácil. comecei a me preparar desde que recebi o e-mail de aprovação em Junho, foram 3 meses só preparando minha HQ pra publicação, depois produzi artes originais e fanarts para produtos, materiais de visualização da mesa, divulgação e tudo isso enquanto trabalhava em tempo integral [...] por muitas vezes achei que não ia conseguir terminar a tempo, mas graças a Deus não sou uma pessoa que se abate ou desisti tão fácil assim. T.T (thank`s God!!)

Os anos de trabalho como designer gráfico, que exerço há 10 anos, me deram certa segurança (e algumas neuras) para trabalhar com gráficas e esse foi outro desafio que tive que enfrentar, trabalhar pela primeira vez com uma gráfica online pra economizar tempo e dinheiro com meus produtos, tudo precisava chegar a tempo e com qualidade impecável e fui muito feliz nas escolhas que fiz, fruto de incansáveis pesquisas.

Outro desafio foi a logística, para chegar ao São Paulo expo, estando hospedada em Guarulhos, precisava ir de carro até a estação de metrô do Tucuruvi, ir até o final da linha e ai pegar um Uber ou o ônibus Oficial da CCXP até o evento, posso dizer que fiquei muito boa tanto em andar de metrô quanto em subir ladeiras.

Algo que não considerei ao me aventurar no meu primeiro evento fora do estado foi exatamente a minha condição física, segurei muito bem a onda durante todo o evento, mas quando retornei pra minha cidade ficou obvio o estado de exaustão em que me encontrava. Vou lembrar de me preparar melhor fisicamente da próxima vez.

Eu realmente queria ter fotografado e gravado mais durante o evento, porém lá dentro tudo é muito grandioso, precisava andar muito até o pavilhão, nos horários de pico mal dava para sentar, muitos menos sair da mesa, tinham vários artistas e stands que queria visitar, famosos e tentadores, fazer parte de um evento como esse foi algo fantástico, tanto em experiência quanto em significado, estar com tantos artistas incríveis e bem sucedidos dentro do cenário artístico brasileiro representa muito pra mim, fiquei encantada desde o momento que entrei na quarta-feira até o momento que saí no domingo.

Pros: Huge convention with a lot of attendees, big name guests, around graduation so a lot of kids are flush with cash and ready to spend, can reserve parking ahead of time

Cons: Parking costs around $20/day and is scarce if you don’t reserve ahead of time; other events in the area (graduation, soccer games); artist alley is basically the last thing you get to on the show floor; getting in/out requires a maze of walkways, elevators, and escalators (and they will make you turn around if you go to the “wrong” entrance); noisy hall due to gaming/events stages
