I have a Kenya sand boa that has refused to eat for almost three months. He's such a nasty man. I can't wait until I get one of my dream snakes, a California king, and finally have someone that will love to eat lol

Is that Kenyan seeing a vet? Because they're surprisingly sensitive to husbandry but they're usually pretty solid feeders once established, and it sounds like they might need some help.

If you haven't already, I'd definitely recommend a fecal panel and husbandry review with your vet before bringing in any other reptiles, just in case it's something that could be spread.

If you've already seen your vet and established that this is just behavioral, then you can rest easy with bringing in a California king snake and have somebody to monch down all of your Kenyan's refused dinners. :)

In excellent news, I have now been signed off on the animal ambassadors I’ve been working with this semester- this means I am now a trainer (albeit not a mentor) as opposed to being trained in how to work with them.

Behold.

#the songbirds are Cedar Waxwings and the snake is a California King. soon I’ll be presenting them in front of classes and the public #to educate others about their species and conservation. they’re all non-releasable and are trained to be ambassadors for their kind. #it’s been a real privilege to work with them up close in this program. I’ve learned a lot! it’s also just a lot of fun. #wildlife stuff
