it’s my own personal headcanon that bruno’s room used to be full of lush greenery and waterfalls but the angrier/sadder/more frustrated he got at himself and his powers, the more it started to die and once he left his room, intending never to return, everything dried up completely and turned to sand.

the shower of sand when mirabel first walks in? waterfall.

all of the walls surrounding the stairs leading to his vision cave? covered in ferns and flowers and vines and other native greenery.

i’d like to think that his room was his own personal oasis and that after the house gets rebuilt, his room returns to its former, healthy state.

Something just hit me. In the opening song of Encanto, Mirabel says that Camillo always tries to make everyone smile and laugh.

"My cousin, Camillo, won't stop until he makes you smile today."

Then after the dinner gone wrong, we see this:

I know it's not the best quality, but bare with me. What if Camillo feels pressured to keep everyone happy because he has to try to keep his mom happy. We know that Pepa is pressured to keep her negative emotions bottled up, which can cause big, sudden storms to pop up. This would likely have been quite scary to a young Camillo, who then tried to do everything he could to lighten her load, along with everyone else's, in the only way he knew how. By laughter and cheering people up.
