Avoid oils, nuts or animal fats
As so many scientists, and the authors of the earth-shuttering book “Mastering Diabetes: The Revolutionary Method to Reverse Insulin Resistance Permanently” say:
If you must use oils, nuts or animal fats in your food (I recommend you don't), then I’d buy organic canola oil for cooking. And flaxseed oil, chia-seed or walnut oil for salads and cold dishes (these oils should be kept in the fridge & never heated). Olive oil may be used on occasion, but never cooked with it. Cook only with canola oil. Out of all other types of oils on the market, I’ve narrowed it down to those 5 choices exclusively, for many reasons most people know nothing about, unfortunately (quality, pollutants, saturated fat, and dangerous Omega 3:6 ratios).
All oils are sensitive to heat, oxygen & light. If you must have them, always store oils, nuts & nut butters in the fridge. Or, less ideally: in a cold, dark place. Nuts can go in the freezer too.
Store them in dark, glass jars & bottles.
Avoid plastic containers of any type, for anything, not just oils & nuts. Especially avoid using soft plastics & nylon bags. Because they leach plastic into any food they come in contact with. The higher the temperature and acidity of the food, the more toxins from the plastic will be leached into your food & drinks. So logically, NEVER microwave in plastic boxes or bags.
Even at room temperature, oils, nuts & butters (almond butter, peanut butters…) will start going rancid within a few weeks of blending. Most have already done so while sitting in warehouses / on store shelves before you ever buy them. Because they were processed months ago and have remained at room temperatures for too long.
