Kamala apologizing for potential copyright infringement for basing her codename off of Carol’s is way funnier when you remember it wasn’t even Carol’s to start with

What if...? S2 E2 Review:
Man, Asgard cannot catch a break lmao. How many times has it been destroyed now? Poor Thor.
And speaking of Thor, I love him here. When he first showed up and knocked Quill out he looked menacing as hell! Honestly his appearance here is proof you can make him both goofy and badass at the same time without assassinating his character *cough* Taika *cough*
Thor also being the character who is in the most teams is funny to me.
Also really nice how both Hank and Quill got closure by learning to care about others, I really liked his parental side of Hank instead of the usual grumpy old man he is in the movies. Pretty sure he just went on and adopted the kid, probably a good thing that Quill has a father figure now that isn't a megalomaniac. Hope and Quill siblings real!
Can I also say how sad it is that Howard never gave up on Bucky? He kept hope that his friend was in there somewhere, even when he told Peggy to move on... Which makes what happened in the main timeline all the more heartbreaking. (Also this episode implies that Peggy and Howard always knew Bucky was turned into the Winter Soldier or at least they had suspicions that it was him) and he's free at the end so hopefully he'll end up in a better future than the main timeline.
I enjoyed this more than last episode and I definitely would like to see more of the 80s Avengers.

It's worse than I thought. Captain Mar-Vell and Jason Todd died six years apart, and their deaths were written by the same man. That's such a short span of time! Oh, and it gets worse and weirder.
According to Wikipedia, Jim Starlin described writing the death of Captain Marvel as "cheaper than going to a shrink". Jesus Christ, Jim Starlin! Look, I get it. Jim Starlin's dad died of cancer. My mom died of brain cancer a few years ago. But when my mom died, I went to therapy! I didn't write a story of a fictional character dying of cancer! Jesus Christ!
Also, Jason Todd 's was kind of thanks to Eddie Murphy. I'm not kidding. Denny O'Neill saw a 1982 SNL sketch in which Eddie Murphy encouraged viewers to call the show if they wanted him to boil a lobster on air. And that inspired him to do the 900 number poll gimmick.
Oh! And Kicker #3! DC wanted to have a character die of AIDS, and Jim Starlin filled the suggestion box with proposals to kill off Jason, but DC staff rejected the idea after realizing all the papers had Starlin's handwriting. Let me repeat that, louder. JIM STARLIN TRIED TO RIG A SUGGESTION BOX SO HE COULD KILL JASON TODD WITH AIDS! Jesus Christ! What's wrong with you, Jim Starlin!
You know what? Captain Mar-Vell and Jason Todd should be allowed one free suckerpunch to Jim Starlin when he finally dies. When a man kills a character off as a form of therapy and tries to give another character AIDS (and both within one six year time span), there's probably something wrong with him.

Can you please make one of incorrect quotes for Mar-Vell aka Wendy Lawson and Y/N when she finds Y/N who is visiting grave of their universe Gwen Stacy and finds Goose approach them and that's when Mar-Vell revealed herself and Y/N revealed that he can see memories of people and objects so he knows about her being alien and something lights up inside of Mar-Vell (she starts to fall for Y/N)
Y/N continues cleaning Gwen’s grave as Wendy approaches…
Wendy: she must’ve been something special, huh?
Y/N: yeah. I miss her every day
Goose walks up and nuzzles Y/N…
Wendy: my cat has a special interest in you
Y/N: are you sure the cat’s the only one?
Y/N gives a little wink and Wendy blushes…

Avengers Annual #7 (Starlin, Nov 1977). Whoa, this snuck up on me. The Avengers assemble in orbit to battle Thanos, who has summoned an army… and gathered the six soul gems! An early draft of Infinity War, then. Starlin’s intricate art and moody narration paint dire stakes. This seems like an end for Adam Warlock, too — who absorbs himself into his vampiric soul gem.

Carol thinks of Teddy as family 😭 I really enjoyed their interactions in Captain Marvel (2019) and in Captain Marvel: Assault of Eden (2023), they’re so precious to me.
Phyla, Genis, Teddy, and Carol need to hang out more, especially since they’re all Mar-Vell’s legacy. Well, when Genis doesn’t have a hole in his chest. Phyla, Genis, and Teddy are all siblings and they have vastly different thoughts about their father, which I think is really interesting! (I read Death of Captain Marvel recently, and it gave me so many Mar-Vell feels 🥺)
I was a little apprehensive about the plot, and I still am because Yuna is just not interesting, but Stephen and Clea are making sporadic appearances and it also seems to be focusing on the Mar-Vell legacy, which I think needs to be focused on more so I’m happy so far. I hope Phyla-Vell shows up soon!

The fact that I don't think there's much fanart of Captain Marvel/Shazam and Captain Marvel/Mar-Vell of the Kree is a shame. Both characters honestly deserved better. Shazam deserved not to be sold to DC because DC was petty and accused it of plagiarism, and Mar-Vell didn't deserve to die because Jim Starlin was going through some stuff and needed a punching bag. Can we let these two just share a drink? Or maybe not a drink, since Billy Batson is a kid. Whatever. Let Mar-Vell, Billy Batson and maybe Rick Jones all have a little hangout session. They all deserve it. And as is usual when I remember Jim Starlin killed two characters at two companies within 10 years (Mar-Vell and Jason Todd), I want to write that man a piece of hate mail. Or at least imagine those two characters punching him.Screw you, Jim Starlin.
