Meeting The River Acrylic on panel

Crossing a bridge on the way home I felt small. Not small insignificant, but small the way one tile is in a mosaic, surrounded by others. That feeling became this, a painting I altered about three times as of now.

i’ve been getting ready for today since dawn

and never once did the rain let up

my hubris told the sun to bring it on

ready to pounce like a tiger cub

as i approached my horse like any other day

i wouldn’t dare look it in the eyes

today i would tame this beast and it’d obey

i’d be still, like the dust, i’d rise

fear and guilt sat heavy in my gut

like a steel anchor for a wayward ship

In absolute agony because I’m really liking the house I’m building in my current Minecraft world but the world uses a mod I spent $10 on (I have Minecraft on the switch so I unfortunately have to deal with the marketplace) which means I can’t invite my sibling to see the pretty house……. I’m so upset

The self portrait

painting yourself is the easiest and hardest thing to do. Schrödinger's subject if you will, you can pose yourself anyway you wish. You will confront all of your features beloved or beloathed by you. I paint so many self portraits. There is no boundary you will unknowingly cross, and no limit to the learning possible also you can give yourself silly eyes

dead gods at the bottom of the sea

dear diary, today i killed a god, i twisted my knife

into his lungs so all he could breathe was blood

and choke on the hot air before he fell into the

sea, his corpse drifted below the phytoplankton

and the clownfish and the sea anemones and the

eels and the sharks and the titanic’s old bones,

he reached the bottom, bubbles of boiling blood

spilling out of his body into a stream that led me

right back to him, where the tardigrades and goblin

sharks and angler fish made a shrine for the

dead man at the bottom of the ocean, and even

beyond the grave he answered their prayers and

healed the sick and fed the poor and didn’t hear a

word i spat in his face, my prayers unanswered and

forgotten, this man made a mockery of me but his soul

lives on, like a whale dropping dead, gracefully

sinking into the abyss and sending the sand up in waves

for centuries before they can fall to rest again
