Mrs. Clinton Walker House (Aka Cabin on the Rocks), 

Carmel Point, Carmel-by-the-Sea, California,

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright,

The Usonian-style cottage was designed in 1945-1951and completed in 1952-1956 for Mrs. Clinton "Della" Walker of Pebble Beach. 

Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house to resemble a ship’s bow on the water making use of the reef. Although it was enlarged in 1956 to 130 square meters (1400sq. ft.), initially, it was 92,9 sqm (1,000 sq. ft.) with three bedrooms, three baths, a kitchen and a 37,2 sqm (400 sq. ft.) living area. 

In 1956, a studio addition was designed by Mr Wright for Ms Walker’s craftwork and weaving at the southeast corner of the building. The plans were eventually used to make way for an expanded primary bedroom in 1960

The house made the USA National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Carmel, Indiana is a flag by by scottishdoge.

Symbolism:

“Blue: Good Fortune and Prosperity

Gold: Happiness

White: Peace and Balance

Star: Ode to the original name of the city: Bethlehem

Design: Carmel is the Roundabout Capital of the US, so I wanted to use the roundabout design as a significant flag feature. On the reverse side, the lines (or lanes in this symbolism) are reversed as well, a subtle nod to our international influencers--who drive on the other side of the road--that have helped the city become more progressive in our ideas and lifestyle. The crossbar with a star in the middle is an ode to the Indianapolis flag, and the off-center, enhanced circle resembles the original design by Roger Gohl.”

Kairouan, Tunisia is a flag proposal by Gargari.

Symbolism: “It shows a camel with the city's name calligraphically written on it. I made this choice because the name literally translates to caravan, or military column. The colours green and yellow are taken from the current coat of arms of the city. Also taken from there is the dome of Kairouan's great mosque, which also represents the camel's hump here. The additional colour purple is used for lines not part of the calligraphy but vital for making it look like a dromedary. The colour represents the wealth of the history of this noble and old city.”

*the dramatic character of the place, even if peace draws its strength there.

*the for ever Sur la route-Van Gogh spirit of the land.
