Baby Bear (22y, 10/2000)
Day 1. The first post on this blog. What better plush to start on than her?
This is Baby Bear! I have had her literally since I was born. She is from Carter's Just One Year line, style # 55708 (more about how I know that in a second).
She was my first stuffed animal ever, and I am so happy to still have her. As you can see, she is honestly quite dirty, but I am afraid to wash her because of her weak fabric.
If I remember correctly, she is a tomboy... which may have been an early part of me exploring gender now I think about it. Huh. She has a relatively deep voice, and a speech impediment. I remember many times having to correct my friends that she's a girl because of the deep voice, haha.
She was part of a trio of my favorite stuffed animals for a long time, and I actually have doubles of all of the original 3! I will show them off too of course :).
She has a brother (same teddy bear), who I found much later at a thrift store, whose tag is still readable. That's how I know their style number! That said, I can't find any more of them online :(. Please send me an ask if you know anywhere I can find info about when she was released and stuff like that, cus I like to know!
Tomorrow, I will post about Kitty Kitty, the second of the original 3! :D

"It hurt to lose to Ronald Reagan. But after the election, I tried to make the transition as smooth as possible. Later, from my experience in trying to brief him on matters of supreme importance, I was very disturbed at his lack of interest. The issues were the 15 or 20 most important subjects that I as President could possibly pass on to him. His only reaction of substance was to express admiration for the political circumstances in South Korea that let President Park close all the colleges and draft all the demonstrators. That was the only issue on which he came alive."
-- Former President Jimmy Carter, on losing the 1980 election and the transition leading to the inauguration of Ronald Reagan, interview with TIME Magazine, October 11, 1982.
