ACCURATE
He was considered average height for a drow in the Underdark. Then he came to the surface and nearly had a heart attack.

When did Cicero and Atticus meet? Are they childhood friends or have they met later in life? Thought I'd ask a professional since Google is of no help.
Not being a professional or an expert on these two, sometimes I have to remind myself that they did not spontaneously spawn as an old gay couple, but -
In the number of [Atticus' fellow students] were Lucius Torquatus, Caius Marius the younger, and Marcus Cicero, whom he so attached to himself by his intercourse with them, that no one was ever more dear to them.
- Cornelius Nepos: Life of Atticus
Obligatory eyebrow raise on the word intercourse. Anyway, they studied together, and the other two mentioned here with them are also interesting. Marius the younger and L. Torquatus who is going to fight for Sulla very soon?! So these are the roots of Atticus' strategy of being friends with both sides?

Ok since y’all liked creatures weird eyes I GUESS I have to explain some lore oh this is such a tradgedy….😈😈😈
Ok so basically
Az likes to use a certain special neurotoxin like drug on his closer workers that is kind of based off devil’s breath where in smaller doses it basically makes them do anything he wants them to and they have barely any recollection of what happened. He only uses this on his verrrry special workers when he either doesn’t want them to remember what happened and claims he did it to ‘protect them’ from what he does which in some cases (cough creature cough) is actually true but in majority of other cases he just does it because he knows they will probably refuse to do what he asks and he can’t afford to risk that.
In larger doses it does what the small does does however it also triggers the fight or flight response which most of the time ends up being fight bc that’s how most monster brains are hardwired which comes in very handy in the ring if you’ve placed a lot of money on a fighter and want them to win lol
However if too much is used it triggers too much of a survival response and the sheer amount of adrenaline that’s produced just stops the heart so u gotta be rlly careful
Long time use of the smaller dosage has a damaging effect on the cardiovascular system as well as the central nervous system and can cause shitty stuff like hallucinations and seizures and blindness cause the drug either completely dilates the pupils or shrinks them depending on what sort of monster it’s used on. It can also cause something the dealers call a ‘void eye ’ where basically the pupil dilates so much it exploded and the whole eye turns black and usually turns the user blind and causes immense pain whenever the eye is moved so in most cases of this happening the void eye is removed
Ik that’s not realistic and would never happen but idrc bc it’s cool and also it’s fantasy 😋
It also causes the eyes to change colour due to damage to the veins in the eyes cause of excess dilation/ shrinkage which is why creature’s eyes look like that. He also has problems with depth perception and colour blindness occasionally
Creatures eyes are very similar to Cas’s eyes because she used to be a fighter Az worked with for a while. Her nickname used to be Ms Meathooks bc honestly look at the absolute gutters she has
Tumblr media
She also has problems with her sight but some of them are just caused by old age lol
Anyways yeah that’s why their eyes are so funky but feel free to ask if u wanna know something else 😋😋😋😋🫶🫶🫶🫶

A small lorepiece for my dragon Cassius. My lore involves a phenomenon called "Element Blindness" which can be caused by an Alchemical mishap and causes a dragon to lose their Element.
Cassius was once a Fire Primal dragon, but lost his element and was ran out of his Clan. One night he dreams of meeting his patron deity, the Flamecaller, and they have this exchange.

Nori’s Trust: a Tale from Osmund
This is Nori’s Stories 3 (NS is a collection of little short stories and Drabbles that talk about Nori or his friends. You can read them out of order it’s not a problem but the others are linked in the pinned post) this one is from the point of view of Osmund Phoris as she talks about Nori’s relationship with his partner, and a little about how they became separated.
Her name was Ulva Cassius and unlike Nori she was a rebel. When the two first met no one was quite sure what would happen given how different the two were, but it turns out opposites attract. More than attract even, the two were inseparable.
Where one knew common sense, the other knew bravery and self-care. When one knew what to do, the other knew how to do it. Together they could tackle any task, any danger, any expedition.
Ulva was always the one who owned a situation. She was strong, in charge, and learned quickly. If there was ever a problem she was the first to find it and eliminate it. In fact, when the concept of pokemon battles was originally brought back to U-Meg she was the first to get the hang of it. Everything she tried broke tradition and expanded horizons… when it worked.
Nori, on the other hand, was quiet and careful. He was curious and organized, with his notes detailing every test, outcome, and new question. He excelled at utilizing his resources and knowledge to help others, just as we had helped him.
They looked out for each other, both in the field and in the city. There were a few close calls but for the most part Nori's preparedness and Ulva's quick thinking kept casualties (physical and social) to a minimum.
However, it couldn't always last. I remember it fairly well, mostly because it wasn't too often that Nori scheduled private training sessions. It took a little bit of convincing but a few minutes and some form corrections he relented.
"Osmund," Nori said softly, "I am not quite sure if it's a good idea."
"Oh?" I asked as I set up equipment for mobility training. "I thought you were the first to suggest this plan after Lusamine's actions."
Nori sighed in frustration, probably at himself. "Yes, and it is not that Ulva can't handle it but…"
"You're starting to think it might not be worth the risk." I supplied.
"Yes."
"And you don't want to be alone, and you don't want her to be alone."
"...yes."
"Then tell me Nori, why did you suggest it, and why is Phyco going through with it?"
Nori set down the weights he was moving and thought for a while. Occasionally I would see him furrow his eyebrows and shake his head but I let the right answer come to him. It always did.
"Because, " he finally said, "the best way to strengthen your own argument is to know your enemy's. No matter who we talk to, we'll get biased information, so we collect the data ourselves. Once we compare we should have an accurate conclusion."
I smiled, simply because I knew our future would be in good hands.
Nori continued, "Ulva is the only person skilled enough to be in those kinds of situations. She's fast and strong and she can get herself out of bad spots. I know she can hold her own in a fight."
Then I asked the simplest question in the world, "Do you trust her?" Yet Nori smiled with such confidence I couldn't have resisted.
"With my life." he replied "and I have already done that far too many times."

i’m obsessed with the mothkin lore and how the curse works i beg tell me more
oh hell yeah lets go its a lesson in mothkin history! Just a warning this is long and full of spoilers for the After Stories (which is a series I've been planning that's focused mostly on the lore, history, and side characters of this world).
The curse was created by a god (I won't tell you which one but you might be able to guess), and it was given to Flynn as part of a deal. Deal being that the god provides a way for Flunn to live long enough to kill a god, and in return he only kills one. Flynn's original plan was to kill all of them as revenge for the Celestial War, but he settles for killing the one who started it. The curse was made only a few years after the War, so it's been around for a really long time. It's kind of less a curse on the person and more a curse on the original moth. Flynn will curse a moth and send it out into the world, a time bomb for some unfortunate soul. Someone will kill the moth, usually on accident with exception for a certain time period that i will get to in a minute, and then the moth's spirit will possess the one who killed them. This is why Maple says things like "when I was alive" its because he's literally a ghost. The hosts spirit will then be essentially smothered and absorbed by the moth's. The time when the moth transitioning to mothkin is when it's important for the moth to be in a flock. Before the Colony was established, most moth's wouldn't make it past this point, and if they did they would be feral and dangerous. Example: Kes
Before I get to the time when people would kill moths on purpose you have to know how most people felt towards Taiheh. Taiheh was considered a god of health, which wan't completely accurate but they wouldn't know that. Moths as a whole are a symbol of Taiheh, and, by extension, health. Killing them was said to bring injury and bad luck to whole families. Because people avoided killing moths, Flynn made more curse moths to up the chances to getting to the next stage. It would be roughly 1 mothkin for every 50 curse moths. In order to help out and hold up his end of the deal, The god who created the curse spread lies about Taiheh to make the people turn on him and start killing moths. this created a boom in mothkin population. There was so many that Flynn coouldn't find them all, so they were discovered by normal people who decided they were a gift from Taiheh to regain their trust. The mortals started hunting them for "mystic healing powers". They would use them in potions and medicines at every chance they could. There was a group of monks devoted to Taiheh who saw the mothkin as the subjects of their god, so they made it their mission to collect the moths they could find and protect them. The mothkin ended up thriving on the community and routine of the isolated places where they were cared for. There were 4 of these moth havens, but as the centuries went by they became isolated from eachother and fell out of modern knowlege. There was the capital colony, the one in the heart of Illusii, which is active, the Reucean Colony, which is active to some extent but a little more dysfunctional, and the Belmortvian colonies in Myrune and Oziro, which are both lost.
Once they were in their own space with a flock, the mothkin started to develope their own heirarchy, which usually put the one most capable of protecting the others at the top. An example of this would be "Queen" Lunaris of the Illusii Colony and her second in command, Mamitri. The rest of the Colony treats them as second royalty even though Taiheh is their king and has no specific relation to them. Most of them seem to prefer their chosen royalty over Taiheh, but have an instinctual need to love their king. Chosen royalty is almost always another mothkin, but if there are no other mothkin around a non-feral moth will either pink someone else, pick themselves, make someone up, or just stick with Taiheh. Maple, for example, started out sticking with Taiheh, but eventually moved on to Maik breifly, and then to himself after she left.
Before I wrap this up I want to talk about why Cass and Maple are different from the others. Cass is, as you may know, a Halfgod. He's also one of the very few mortals that outranks mothkin on a celestial level, so a mothkin couldn't smother him if it tried. Not that it would even try to smother the prince of moths anyways. The reason why Flynn want's Cass specifically is because his god blood would give Flynn the power boost to stand a chance against the god he wants to kill. In this case, the curse makes Cass's powers steal-able and also kind of multiplies said powers since its combining two different sources of Taiheh's magic. It would've been cool to see Cass be able to fully use his powers like Del can, but unfortunately he never will for reasons you will find out about in exactly a month.

Astraeus -  In Greek mythology, Astraeus (/əˈstriːəs/) or Astraios (Ancient Greek: Ἀστραῖος means "starry") was an astrological deity. Some also associate him with the winds, as he is the father of the four Anemoi (wind deities), by his wife, Eos.
---
I officially designed Cassius’s Unsundered self, Astraeus, who is nonbinary.  They use any pronouns but I typically refer to them as they/them.  Astraeus was known for being a shameless flirt and for having magic that resembled starlight.  They were extremely fond of Hades and the two had a fairly obvious relationship, though Hades tended to keep silent about it.  It’s said when the Final Days came to Amaurot, Astraeus was on the front lines alongside their lover, trying to keep the hordes of beasts at bay while others could flee.  Astraeus favored felines and would often make cutesy kitten familiars that would attack Hades’s feet.
