New Fourteen head canon:

Rose gets him super into musical theatre & movie musicals.

They’ve watched The Greatest Showman only 10 times in the last month and The Doctor has broken a lamp trying to learn the dance steps with Rose

Rose mentioned there was a Cats movie and The Doctor said they HAD to watch it because they loved it when he saw the musical in his 5th generation

They loved the movie… less so.

There was certainly a joke made about the cgi being worse than a certain time a certain old friend was going through a certain phase

The Doctor brought all the Temple-Noble’s to see Hamilton on broadway opening night after Rose kept talking about it

He kept whispering to Donna about how he “knew that guy!” And that “they definitely couldn’t sing THAT well. But then again, there were definitely less occasions of breaking into song and dance in reality” and how “ ‘My Shot’ is a little ironic given the ending… You know what happens, right Donna? …I didn’t just spoil it, did I? …You know how Alex died?”

Donna asks to switch seats with Shaun

Shaun reluctantly agrees and ended up learning a lot more about the history of the United States than he signed up for coming to see this show

Donna asks if The Doctor has watched Mamma Mia

They hadn’t.

They loved it!

They start singing ABBA songs and dancing around the house with Donna no less than 4 times weekly

So I headcanon that Tugger doesn’t like cuddles or casual intimacy as a rule. But, as with all rules, there are exceptions. And for these exceptions, he cannot get enough contact from these people, constantly going up to them and flopping on them and being extra cozy. But he is in complete denial of this behavior because he has a reputation to uphold. He is absolutely not cuddling, he doesn’t cuddle, what are you talking about [Is so twisted around Misto you can’t tell where one cat starts and the other one ends].

I have a headcanon that "Old Deuteronomy" started as a lullaby that Munkustrap came up with when Tugger was a baby, specifically to console him when he was really fussy and missing their dad. It worked, little Tugger liked it a lot and as they got older it became Munk's go to thing to calm down fussy and miserable kittens, including his own

At some point Munk started using it during the ball as his dad's introduction and during one of the balls teenage+ Tugger added his own lines in, and for that occasion it stayed as a duet. Even outside the ball he still often throws them in if he catches Munk singing it to anyone, just to make the kittens laugh

SILLY GHOUL HEADCANNONS!!!

1. They're very similiar to cats as they purr and hiss, just the sounds being more low,raspy,shaky and guttural. Something else cat-like is that they will sleep and sit in the most weirdest places ever, chances are you will find a sleeping dew on top of the fridge while getting a midnight snack.

2. I like to think they have retractable claws since it would be hard to strum strings, press Keys, or hold a drumstick with those massive claws in the way, they'll draw their claws when in danger or other things that require their claws as a tool or for self-defense

.

3. Each ghoul has its own unique scent based on elements and personality,Take Rain, for example, who is the calmest ghoul you could ever be around! The sound of raindrops falling has such a calming effect, right? Similarly, Rain would 100% make you fall asleep if he were to tell you a bedtime story He would smell something like rain-soaked (element, water) sandalwood (sandalwood has calming properties too :D) (personality)

29. A headcanon that breaks my heart

If Misto hadn’t become friends with Tugger, he would have fallen prey to Macavity, much like Demeter did.

Now this is based on a particular set of headcanons that I have. But, basically;

After Macavity ‘leaves’ the tribe, young Misto finds himself treated with suspicion, like a ticking time bomb. Macavity had physical magic more powerful than anyone, perhaps that’s what corrupted him? So now people murmur, ‘what if Misto turns out just like him. What if he becomes a monster?’

So Misto hides his magic, makes it less than what it is. “I can only do lights. Nothing else.”

But he still needs to use it. He feels Wrong if he doesn’t. So he practices, alone, far from the tribe.

Eventually, Macavity finds him. He convinces him that the stories about him were inventions, slander. He offers to train him, to help him.

At first, Misto refuses, terrified. But he comes back. The promise of having someone Show him how to do control his magic is too enticing.

He is a good target. Already a bit reclusive, the aftermath of Macavity has made him an outcast. He’s lonely, craving guidance, craving someone like himself. He has a good heart, and is willing to believe Macavity’s stories. He’s naive. He doesn’t understand that people lie.

Macavity shapes himself into everything Misto needs. A friend, a mentor, a companion. But at the same time, he chips away at his supports.

No one else can be trusted. “Look at how they treated me. I lost control once, and they rejected me, exiled me. And I was the honored heir. What do you think they’ll do to you?”

It isn’t hard. Misto is already painfully aware of how the others look at him. Victoria is the only person he can trust.

And then there’s an accident. An accident that he causes. And in the aftermath, he hears the whispers. “Just like Macavity.”

Misto runs. He runs to Macavity, cries that he should have listened to his warnings, that no one could be trusted. He could only trust Macavity. He begs him to take him away, So he does. Macavity spirits Misto away to his own clowder. Waiting are a pair of mischievous calico twins, a beautiful ruby haired queen, and a golden queen with anxious eyes, all ready to be his new family.

But now that he has what he wants, Macavity no longer needs to play nice.

30. Something that mends it.

But this isn’t what happens. Instead, Tugger finds Misto in the outlands, practicing his magic.

And so, he’s the one who helps Misto. He too has grown up in the shadow of Macavity. He too has a chip in his shoulder.

He becomes Misto’s friend. He admires his abilities, his talents, encourages him. Though lacking overt magic of his own, his passion and excitement give Misto confidence.

He believes in him. He fosters trust. He thinks the others will accept Misto, and if they don’t, well then he’ll make them see what he sees!

So when Old Deuteronomy is kidnapped, that’s exactly what he does. “I will show them the you that I see. I will make them see you for who you are. And you are going to show them exactly how brilliant you are. I know it.”

The sonic and music headcanons

Shadow probably wouldn't learn to play in less he found out sonic could play in witch case he will learn to up show sonic

Rouge would probably know basic singing by now maybe a instrument if it could help with staying undercover/a heist

I think Omega doesn't understand or except the concept of music unless they heard Tchaikovsky overture 1812 or maybe the doom ost

Vector charmy and espio already have canonical musical experience because they are perfect and I love them

Amy probably thinks she can sing because she likes going to concerts and will sing along with the music but doesn't actually know anything about pitch or reading notes

Cream probably plays recorder in school and is probably really good at it if not most wind instruments

Big the cat can barely talk let alone sing but that's one of the reasons he likes froggy because a ribbit every now and then is all he needs

"You know me the fighting freak knuckles" he knows how to rap he is best boy

Tails will know how to use at least one DAW but probably wouldn't use it unless sonic or knuckles wanted to make a song with him

Being the querked up fuck boy that is sonic he probably knows how to beatbox maybe he makes beats for knuckles to rap over then there's classic sonic which was in a band with vector or at least in the concept art they were

Eggman loves karaoke and vocaloids he has considered making a scheme where he disguises himself as a vocaloid but he respects the industry too much to tarnish it also he asked Miku if he could use her catchphrase and they are friends now

Fang owns a didgeridoo doesn't know how to play it

Sticks considers banging rocks together music

Rough and tumble do not care for a full theme song and just enjoy rhyming

one thing I adore about cats the musical the fandom is that there's no lore. I've seen it said multiple times about the show that it's very simple, and that the fans pretty much get to pick and choose... everything.

it's delightful, however it's taking me some time to get used to because I come from fandoms that don't just have lore, no no no, they have entire books that are in fact canon, written specifically to deepen and detail the lore, the history, the characters, every little detail about the world etc.

when I was writing that hotd fanfic I worked with a beta reader not only for proofreading and continuity reasons, but mainly just so a more experienced fan can point out lore mistakes/inconsistencies in what I've referenced in my fic...

don't get me started on star wars, I always sweat when I need to post a sw fanfic, afraid that some person is gonna pull a "well, akshually 🤓☝️" in the comments concerning a detail I mentioned once in the entire story (hasn't happened yet, I take it the fear is more irrational in nature, but also I haven't posted as many sw fics as I've written precisely because of that fear).

but cats???? it's not just the simplicity of the musical itself it's also that the lore pretty much doesn't exist and is up to the interpretation of the viewer. everyone picks up on different details and interprets them differently. and, sure, there's a fandom consensus about certain things but I'd argue that just because there's an overall agreement on a headcanon, it still remains a headcanon and not canon. like! cats doesn't have a canon, at least not a consistent one! and as someone who's used to writing "silly little fanfics for fun" with 50 wiki tabs open to make sure I don't mess up a single lore detail which caused a lot of stress for such a silly story I write for fun, I'm having such a great time with cats fanfics rn both reading and writing.

because at the end of the day, if anyone does decide to question me about something I wrote, I can always just say "my brother in Christ, they are cats" and it would be a valid argument.
