"The Coffee Table"
This unrelenting, bleak domestic drama with a sinister streak is one of the darkest films I have ever seen.
I just watched one of the darkest films I have ever seen, and that’s “The Coffee Table,” an unrelenting and bleak domestic drama that takes an incredibly sinister turn. This film pushes the envelope with an in-your-face 180 degree turn, and it’s one that’s absolutely not for the faint of heart. Jesus (David Pareja) is tired of his wife Maria (Estefanía de los Santos) always calling the shots.…

❀. ( 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓 ) ⠀𓂃 ⠀ ( 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 )
* ⠀𓂃 ❀ ⠀❪  HEADCANONS :

Cinephobia Releasing is thrilled to unveil the North American premiere of "The Coffee Table," a gripping horror-comedy that promises to leave audiences both horrified and spellbound. Directed by the visionary Caye Casas, this cinematic gem begins its limited theatrical journey in Los Angeles at Laemmle Glendale on April 19, before expanding to New York, Austin, and Chicago. Fans won't have to wait long to bring this unforgettable experience home, as the film is set to launch on DVD and VOD platforms, including AppleTV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, and VUDU, on May 14. https://youtu.be/T_bkgfaPEzs?feature=shared "The Coffee Table" follows the story of Jesus and Maria, a couple navigating the turbulent waters of their relationship while embarking on the new journey of parenthood. In a bid to carve out a fresh start, they make a seemingly innocuous decision to purchase a new coffee table – a choice that dramatically alters their lives. With a runtime of 90 minutes, this Spanish horror-comedy blends dark humor with a poignant exploration of fate, making it a standout addition to any film enthusiast's collection. Boasting a stellar cast led by David Pareja and Estefanía de los Santos, with notable performances by Josep Riera, Claudia Riera, and Eduardo Antuña, "The Coffee Table" has captivated festival audiences worldwide. After making its world premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, where it clinched the Best Film award in the 'Rebels with a Cause' section, the film went on to leave its mark at esteemed festivals like Fantastic Fest, Fantaspoa International Fantastic Film Festival, and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, where it garnered the prestigious White Raven award. Director Caye Casas, alongside co-writer Cristina Borobia, crafts a narrative that delves deep into the human psyche, challenging viewers to confront their deepest fears without resorting to the conventional tropes of monsters or gore. Instead, "The Coffee Table" conjures a palpable sense of dread through its masterful storytelling and the haunting specter of fate, promising an experience that will linger long after the credits roll. As Casas himself puts it, "We wanted to make one of the cruelest films ever made, one that people cannot forget." True to his word, "The Coffee Table" is a film that dares its audience to embrace the full spectrum of human emotion, offering a cinematic journey that is as unsettling as it is captivating. With its bold narrative, exceptional cast, and innovative direction, "The Coffee Table" is poised to become a cult classic, redefining the boundaries of horror and comedy. As Ray Murray, President of Cinephobia Releasing, notes, this film is a "shocking, tense, and unsettling" addition that perfectly encapsulates the essence of true horror. Prepare to be enthralled by "The Coffee Table" – a film that not only challenges the conventions of genre filmmaking but also invites viewers to ponder the unpredictable nature of life itself.

Si no pena
Me dicen no mameS

” @cavyetanas
Tumblr media

Two years ago I started filmmaking. I bought a GoPro, went traveling in South America and made a video of it. From that moment my passion for filmmaking started and marked the start for my video business. I actively started filmmaking and bought my first camera: Panasonic GH5!
Now, two years later, I am proud to present my new video. LANDS OF THE MAYA is the result of two years of hard work on my camera, editing, colour grading and sound design skills. This video captures a 4 week journey through Guatemala, Mexico and Belize. In short: Vulcanoes, whale sharks, Maya temples, waterfalls, culture and food!
