We started dating and 2 months later we took our first road trip.
A few years later we got married and 2 weeks later we left on our first expat posting (Buenos Aires) for what should have been 2+ years.
Well it’s been over 20 years of cardboard boxes moving around the world so I thought it was appropriate to once again recycle this wedding photo* into cardboard box art.
🥰🥂🍾HAPPY 23rd ANNIVERSARY Babe 🍾🥂🥰
*I really need to scan more of our wedding pictures from our albums stored in France (yep we got married before digital photography… that4s how long we’ve been married 😂)
When you are notified that your photo is been featured on an article about your artist friend but then realized they credited the wrong photographer 🙄
Irving was in fact the main photographer of the Ballerina and Paper Tutu project but this particular Multiple photo (which is one of my trademark) is mine (as well as the photo of Kaelie in the article ) and none of his photo were featured in the article.
There were also some photos posted on the newspaper Instagram (this one and 2 from Irving) and they didn’t credit us either 😞
You didn’t think I was going to make something without doing a behind the scene video, did you? 😂
=> NB: It came to my attention that the article I linked a couple days ago might not be visible to everyone so here's a link to a pdf file you might be able to read.
Well once I learnt that the article was published in a daily newspaper and I wouldn’t be able to find the hard copy the next day I had to go on a hunt… at 9pm.
All the local markets near our condo were already closed so I needed to find a 24/7 place which would have it. After 2 bus rides and getting lost in a HDB, I found it.
The lady at the counter seemed perplex when I asked her where I could find the newspaper… looked at me twice (making sure she was indeed talking to an Ang Moh under the mask) and said but it’s in Chinese. I told her I was just interested by the photos 😉😂

As usual the behind the scene of the Cardboard box wedding portrait.
I had seen a few of those cardboard box portrait of famous people floating around and I thought I would try to do one since it suited the narrative of our expat life.
It was not as straightforward as I thought. I had to tweak this original photo because there were too many details that would not transfer well on a small scale format, then on my first attempt I didn’t cut deep enough but I eventually managed to do one that worked.
I usually multiply myself but couldn't resist doing it again with Henriette in front of the Bayfront Pavillion in Gardens by the Bay with the iconic Marina Bay Sands in the background.
A couple of weeks ago a whole lot of amazing artists came together for a photoshoot, a paper artist (Kaelie), a ballerina from Singapore Dance Theater (Henriette) and photographer (Irving)
When a Filipino, a Norwegian/Filipino, a Singaporean, and a Frenchy collaborate for a photoshoot at Gardens by the Bay... greatness ensures.
Those are a few photos I took with my iPhone.
Check them out - truly inspiring.
* Paper Artist: Kaelie. I’m in awe with her patience, folding those pieces of art. (https://www.kaeliekwah.com/ - https://www.instagram.com/kaelie.kwah/)
* Ballerina Henriette from Singapore Dance Theatre. She kept on twirling and jumping. (https://www.instagram.com/hdominiqueg/)
* Main Photographer on the project: Irving. His Dancescapes project is amazing. (https://www.sixsensesphotography.com/ - https://www.instagram.com/sixsenses.irving/)
I invited some friends to help out with the Christmas decorations ;-)
I have had the Christmas tree piece of fabric from IKEA for years and it’s been a feature on my Facebook for years (I usually open the Christmas season with me ironing my “Christmas tree”)
I have added the Chimney this year, which I designed and had it print with Spoonflower.
I made the paper folded ornaments in a workshop and they are from my friend Kaelie from Colored Paper Factory. The Christmas cards on the mantle are from my friend Tatyana from Kildi Photo.
A while ago I was listening (ok dancing all by myself at home!) to Dua Lipa's Physical and the intro of the song sounded familiar.
I dug a little and found (again) French artist Therapie TAXI and their song J'en ai marre. After listening to the catchy song several time, I was wondering what they were really talking about (on the first pass you might think they are talking about a partner but in fact it was about their alter ego).
I wanted to do one of my Multiple Photo and the primary colors of the Physical video gave me an idea. So here’s what came out of my brain: a Multiple with a twist.
Some people enjoy rooftop cocktails, my happy place last night was my underground garage so the crazy idea I had in my head could come to life.... stay tuned ;-)
