I love having anxiety disorder bc I just signed up for covid shot next friday and immediately after hitting submit I got a "what if it kills me. what if I just chose my date of death" anxiety preview to what I'll be experiencing right after the shot is administered. so much fun to look forward to.

i’m very late to the party (as always) because this show ended in 2021, but line of duty absolutely slaps, i just watched 4 seasons of it and got absolutely hooked

I think I am going to learn upholstery.

I moved into my new apartment three years ago this week. and with that move came a very old but very well loved sofa and chair that my mother had no room for, but fit perfectly in my living room. I have a slip cover on both, but they're too big. The fabric is shredded and threadbare, the stuffing in the cushions is flat and I'm quite certain the springs might be a bit fucked. It sags in the middle and I'm kind of scared the legs are going to fail.

However, it's sofa that was purchased by my grandparents in the eighties. It's hardwood and has good bones. And I have a sewing machine and not enough sense to question this ludicrous notion. My grandfather (not the one to purchased the sofa set) was also an upholsterer and I feel like that's a bit of kinship I can share.

So, I found a decent set of legs on amazon, I need to buy two sets because I need six legs not four. I'm also going to need to measure it to see how much material I'm going to need but my ball park estimate is at least 5 -8 yards for the sofa itself and the cushions. I will also need to get new cushion squares, and it might be nicer to turn this into a three cushion rather than two. And I'm going to have to flip it upside down to see how the intern guts are managing. I might be back to shore up the middle by attaching some braces to any weaker sections.

I have no idea how to replace springs, but I'm sure there is a YouTube tutorial out there. Is this going to be expensive? Probably, the fabric alone is going to be a lot, but it's not going to be more than a new sofa this size and with this level of craftsmanship already built in. It just needs a paint job.
