18th March 2024: Fishlake Meadows, Lakeside and others

Photos taken in this set are of; Song Thrush at Fishlake Meadows, Greenfinch when cutting through Lakeside, violet at Fishlake Meadows, beautiful views at both, mushroom and ivy at Fishlake Meadows, pond skater at Fishlake Meadows it was good to see a few of them and female Gadwall at Fishlake Meadows. Other highlights from the brilliant walk and time I spent at Fishlake Meadows and in Romsey today were Cetti's Warber and Chiffchaff near constant presences in sound and sight which was delightful, Water Rail, Great White Egret, Greylag Geese, Pochard, Treecreeper, Dunnock, Red Kite, Buzzard, Reed Bunting, Great Spotted Woodpecker heard, my first forget-me-not of the year, daffodils, white deadnettle, lots of lesser celandine and King Alfred's cake and turkey tail fungi with quite a few fungi enjoyed today. Great Crested Grebe, House Sparrow, Wren, Green Woodpecker heard and Grey Squirrel were other highlights on the cut throughs over Lakeside with my first ground ivy of the year seen between the locations.

this thought has been stewing for a while and i still can’t explain it properly but. the different productions, the different traditions... they’re like the cats being reborn. like, london based productions (and there’s some variation in there too) are like, one jellicle life, the broadway based productions are another jellicle life. and i can’t explain it, but the sheer importance of some of them just having to be close, no matter which life... sometimes as lovers, sometimes as friends, sometimes as family, but no matter how they’re close... their souls just keep finding each other no matter which life they’re living

I love the idea that toddler Tumble was a completely unintentional smartass because he was an incredibly bright kid, and assumed that other cats were asking for clarification when they prompted him for other things.

Like his favourite thing was to be picked up, and he would just simply demand “Up.” when he wanted it, but his dad started doing the “’Up’ what?” prompt in attempt to get him to remember to say please, but Tumble would just furrow his brow, flabbergasted at the question, and say, more firmly “Up THERE”, pointing to where he wanted to go, or, worse still, “Up NOW”. And it would be completely sincerely because he figured that was the answer to the question, duh dad don’t be silly. 

They’re working on it.

30/03/2024-Views, Buzzard, Skylark, Fox and daffodil on a brilliant walk at Hook-with-Warsash on this fine and sunny day. My first Small Tortoiseshell butterfly of the year, Speckled Wood, ladybirds, my first greater stitchwort and garlic mustard of the year, lesser celandine, gorse, Mediterranean Gull, Shelduck, Little Egret, Wigeon, Ringed Plover, Curlews, Oystercatcher, Sparrowhawk, lovely Linnets and Roe Deers were other highlights with Cetti's Warbler and Chiffchaffs head, Starlings and Goldfinches enjoyed at home and my first marsh marigold of the year on the way to Hook-with-Warsash. A sensational spring day with Skylarks singing, butterflies flitting by and a host of colourful wildflowers among many uplifting sights.
