🌌✨The Empyreal Within character designs of Lotor, Allura, and Ven'tar! I might do Honerva and Zarkon next, we'll see! This is part of an upcoming project that I am super excited about and will reveal in time!!! 💜
Explanations of the outfits below! I thought about them a LOT hehe.
18 year old Lotor: these designs I am the most pleased with! Lotor's official design in the show is very different from the rest of the Galra, which I believe is significant to him venturing further away from the precedents established by his father and cementing his own individuality. However, as an adolescent it makes sense that he would still wear Galra attire, hence the bulky armor (to make him look bigger since he is smaller than the average Galra) and red and gold colors which appear to only be worn by the royal family. I like to think that the insignia on his chest is a symbol for royalty, but is also exclusive to Lotor's identity, as no one else wears that particular insignia in the show. And despite wearing clothes specifically chosen to represent the Galra Empire, I can also picture him wanting to incorporate his own personal tastes, so there are accents of purplish-blue (as blue is part of Lotor's color scheme) and the addition of his waist cape, both of which represent his growing desire for change and independence.
Mid-20's Lotor: this is during the many years of his banishment. I imagine him hopping from planet to planet, concealing his identity as much as possible while adopting a more humble lifestyle and pursuing his passion for exploring. It is during this isolated pilgrimage that he does a lot of introspection, self-actualization, and gains self-confidence both as a man and as the Galra prince. But before that happens, the lack of identity really shows in his clothes -- lots of neutral colors (with a hint of desaturated blue), absence of any insignias or designs that would connect him to any culture, whether Galra or Altean. These clothes in particular were inspired by Jedi ponchos and Sasuke from Naruto: The Last, and perhaps are worn while Lotor is on a desert planet for a short time! And just like with his armor as seen in the show, he has started to wear gloves to cover himself up almost completely, indicating his avoidance of vulnerability and getting close to others.
Ven'tar: for her fortunately I didn't have to change much about her character design! She is Lotor's age when they meet and the only other change I made to her was to take away her big cape so that she appears younger. Since her planet and species name is not revealed in the show, I want to come up with one myself. Caelifera is the scientific name for grasshopper, so I'm thinking I could do something with that!
11 year old Lotor: this design is also taken directly from the show, so I didn't have to do much there :P The cloak he wears in the little doodle is inspired by the one adult Lotor wears in S6E4. In this case, however, it is several sizes too big for young Lotor and drags on the ground.
Allura: sadly we don't know much about Allura's life on Altea, however in S1E9 we get to see tiny snippets of different stages throughout her life and her good relationship with her father, so I used those as references! I gave her braids, short puffy sleeves, and a slightly shorter skirt to give her that innocent little princess look, and then used the colors from her dress in the show to create a cuter and more childlike aesthetic!
If you read all of that you're the best 😆🙏 I'm definitely by no means an expert in character design and have lots more to learn, but I had a lot of fun coming up with the original designs! Especially Lotor's, but no surprise there hehe. I studied many different Galra armor and clothing featured in the show worn by Lotor, Zarkon, Honerva, and Galra commanders. More than anything I just really wanted to see Lotor wearing something different for a change 😂 and then everything else took off from there!

Grand Festival Showdown
The Miraculous gang as Pokemon trainers. All of them are the same, but their dreams have all been modified to include pokemon. Kagami, Kim, Alix, and Ivan are all battlers. Marinette, Adrien, Luka, Nino, Chloe, Nathaniel, and Lila all do contests. Juleka, Rose, and Mylene all do showcases. This all takes place in the Sinnoh Region.
Includes my favorite Lila Salt as well as Alya Salt.
My original characters are included in this story as well. Lyon being a champion grand coordinator, Vallia being a pokemon nurse in training, Apollo is a contest contestant, Mason being a gym leader, and Lena is a friend to the twins.
This is a long one, about 6000 words, so buckle up people.
*****
If there was one thing that Adrien loved, it was competing in pokemon contests. Since his father usually forced him to model for his fashion company, he appreciated the beauty that he saw in the pokemon that his father made matching outfits of for the photoshoots. And from watching the Pokemon League on television, he definitely also knew that they had power. So contests were the perfect blend of how he saw pokemon as the beautiful and powerful creatures that they were.
Not that his father even knew that he participated in them. Gabriel Agreste wanted his son to be a proper heir to Gabriel Pokemon Fashion. And that did not include anything involving contests, battles, or even showcases. He forced him to do all kinds of photoshoots, had him model with humans and pokemon alike, not to mention the fact that he would not have gotten his starter pokemon had he not sneaked out of the house. But he did it anyway, and his adorable Turtwig had managed to evolve into a Torterra.
But if there was one mistake that Gabriel made, it was letting him have lots of privacy. There may be cameras outside his bedroom door, but none inside of his room. That certainly helped when he had to sneak out to meet his friends, capture more pokemon, train his pokemon, or compete in a contest that was nearby. Plus, he also was able to sneak away to contests that were in the same town as a photoshoot that he was doing. He just had to lie and say that he was staying in his hotel room for a few hours. His life may have been mostly controlled, but that did not mean he was not sneaky when he was getting what he wanted.
Since contests were televised, he did have to keep his father from finding out. So he donned a disguise. He became Cat Noir, a mysterious pokemon contest prodigy that no one knew the real name of.
Only three people knew about his second life as Cat Noir. His best friend Kagami, who shared the same type of sheltered life as he did but she preferred battles to contests, and his other two friends Lyon and Marinette. Lyon is one half of a set of twins, his sister currently working under a Nurse Joy in order to become a pokemon doctor, and he was already a top coordinator back in his home region of Kalos. Marinette is a coordinator like him and also came from the Kalos region like Lyon, but she is usually shy and also has desires to become a pokemon fashion designer.
He had met Kagami during one of the social events they were both forced to attend by their parents. They got along great and both had the same desire to be free. If they were in the same town, which happened more often than one would think, they would often use each other as an excuse to sneak away for a gym battle, contest, or training with their pokemon. He met Lyon by chance when he had been training and his Turtwig almost hit the Top Coordinator with a razor leaf gone wild. Lucky for him that Lyon was a lot more down-to-earth than one would expect from a person with as much success as him while he was so young. Marinette, being a fellow coordinator, had been at a contest which she had lost to him. She had seen him take off his Cat Noir mask and recognized him from his father's magazines. She had been a great friend to him and understood why he used the mask.
There were few things that could actually make him smile so carefree other than contests. His constant photoshoots, dealing with stuck-up models, and his seemingly careless father did not make him smile that way. He hated modeling and even though he loved being all the pokemon that he modeled with, he wanted to see pokemon just as free as he wanted to be. He wanted to be famous for working hard like legendary trainers Ash Ketchum, Gary Oak, and Steven Stone. Or coordinators like Fantina, Wallace, and Zoey.
But he was now was at the top pokemon contest of the Sinnoh region. The Grand Festival. He had earned his ribbons and now Cat Noir was at his first Grand Festival. What he looked forward to most of all was that he knew that Kagami was going to be in the audience, Lyon was a special guest, and that Marinette was also competing.
He did not like the idea that he might have to battle his friend at some point, but these things do tend to happen. Especially since he was also aware that other friends of his had also made it to the Grand Festival. They had all attended the same pokemon school before it was time for their journeys to begin. He knew his friends Luka, Nathaniel, and his childhood friend Chloe were also all competing.
So, he was just getting ready backstage before all of them would have their qualifying performances before the battle rounds started. He was in his Grand Festival outfit of a black suit with green details, a black and green coat with a cape-like back, shiny green dress shoes, "cat claw" gloves, his signature cat-eye mask, and fake black cat ears on his head.
"My, my, don't you look fancy," Adrien heard near him.
The model almost jumped out of his skin but calmed down when he saw that it was just Lyon. And from looking at him, he definitely saw why people called him the White Wolf.
Lyon was in an icy outfit that almost gave him the illusion of having his own ice powers. He had on a fancy white vest over a blue short-sleeve silk shirt. It matched the white pants that he wore with his shin-high blue boots. He also wore a white hooded cloak with snowflake designs all over it. On his lower arms were silver arm-band bracelets with snowflake and wolf designs on them. His midnight-black hair also had fake wolf ears in it.
"Oh, Lyon," Adrien let himself breathe again. "For a second, I thought my identity had been discovered."
"Well, you may need to get a little better at hiding when you change," Lyon chuckled. "If you win and become Top Coordinator, the press will be even more ruthless with trying to find out your identity."
"I deal with the press on a regular basis already, Lyon," Adrien reminded him.
"Yeah, but I can tell you from experience that when it comes to being a Top Coordinator, people pay more attention to us," Lyon said.
"Well, I can see why that would happen with you," Adrien not-so-subtly flirted with him.
"Careful, kitty," Lyon teased him. "Wouldn't want the wolf to eat the cat before his big performance."
Adrien chuckled, always having liked how they could always joke around with their chosen performer names of cat and wolf. There were so few people that he could act like himself around and he certainly enjoyed Lyon's company.
"So, you here as just a special guest or also as a surprise judge," Adrien asked him.
"My dear Cat Noir, now that would be telling," Lyon smirked as he teased the teen coordinator.
"Oh, thank Arceus that I found you," they both heard a female voice.
They both turned and saw Marinette running toward them. Lyon recognized her from pictures that Adrien had sent him and of course, Adrien would recognize his best friend even if she was decked out in her Grand Festival dress. Probably a dress of her own design as well.
She was in a beautiful dress that was in a ladybug design with a little pink mixed in. It was a knee-length dress that was mostly red with black spots all over it. Under it was a crinoline that was colored pink that helped her dress by more poofy. The sleeves of her dress were elegant bell sleeves that ended at her elbows and lower arms instead of her wrists. Her hair was also extended and placed into a long ponytail coming from the top of the back of her head with roses tied where the ponytail started. On her feet were red wedge-heel boots that went up to her knees.
"How you can run in those heels is beyond me," Lyon said.
"Especially given that one of the first things that you told me about yourself was that you are extremely clumsy," Adrien added.
"Well, I was running with a purpose," Marinette said.
"That purpose being to find one of us if what you had said means anything," Lyon says.
"It's about Adrien, or rather Cat Noir really," Marinette said.
"Oh, great," Adrien sighed, having expected the fame of his mysterious identity to cause some type of drama at the Grand Festival.
"Do you remember when I was telling you about that liar, Adrien," Marinette asked him.
"Yeah," Adrien nodded. "Lila is what you told me her name was. The girl that lies with every breath she takes and has an ego bigger than a Wailord."
"Well, she somehow got her five ribbons and is going around telling people that she knows who you are," Marinette tells her friend.
"What," Adrien's eyes widen.
"Not just that," Marinette continued. "She is also saying that she is dating you and you're apparently head over heels for her."
Adrien could not help but facepalm when he heard that.
"Here comes the headache that I did not know was going to happen," he groaned.
"Here's some aspirin," Marinette gave Adrien the medicine. "I thought that if the liar managed to get here, I would need some myself. I've already had three headaches because of her. And that is just today."
"Am I missing something," Lyon asked.
"Yes," Adrien said before popping the medicine into his mouth.
Marinette rolled her eyes as she took the liberty of explaining.
"Lila Rossi is a pathological liar that I ran into after I won my first two contests," she says. "At first, I had believed her tall tales until she said that she knew the designer for Jagged Stone and Clara Nightingale."
"MDC," Lyon raised an eyebrow. "As such a private designer, I highly doubt that a random girl would know her. Especially if she is bragging about it to anyone that will listen to her."
Marinette nodded. "Exactly. So I then immediately knew that Lila was nothing but a liar. Especially since she said that MDC is a boy when anyone with common sense, and access to the internet, know that MDC's only given clue to who she is that she is a she."
"Yet, people actually believe her," Lyon put a hand on his hip.
"As I said, she is a pathological liar," Marinette says. "One that uses people's knowledge to make her lies sound realistic. Like how my friend Rose is friends with Prince Ali, and my boyfriend Luka is Jagged Stone's son, and even how Adrien is Cat Noir. Lila uses people's own experiences to give her lies credibility. Like a situation of 'if I can know celebrities then so can she."
"Weirdly enough, I can see how that makes sense," Adrien said.
"What can we do about her," Lyon asked. "Can we just have Adrien call her out as Cat Noir?"
"Since Adrien has to keep his identity a secret, she could just pull out another lie about him protecting her or that they got into a fight," Marinette said. "It's how she explained when MDC posted on social media that she had never met Lila before."
"This is gonna be a disaster, isn't it," Adrien guessed. "There is no way someone like how you describe Lila would go down without a fight."
"She may be lying, but won't she lie herself into a corner," Lyon asked. "Especially if 'Cat Noir' actually does enter a relationship."
"The problem is the damage that she can cause along the way," Marinette said.
"Trust me, I was on your train of thought as well until Marinette explained things more to me," Adrien said. "Lila is not just lying about herself, she is also lying about what she can do for others. Saying that she can put a good word in for people to get certain jobs, internships, or futures in careers that they want. When it actually comes time for them to her to fulfill those promises, a lot of people will be met with disappointment. Plus, with her promising these things, they will not apply to other jobs, colleges, or internships on their own. It would take a long time for them to recover from her lies."
"I see," Lyon understood what they meant. "Guess this just gives me more reasons to not come out in public more if I have to deal with people like her."
"She hasn't happened to make any lies about Lyon, has she," Adrien asked Marinette.
"Well, she apparently was trained in the art of contests by Lyon and was supposedly the muse that inspired him to chose his 'White Wolf' look," Marinette said.
"And... now I have a headache," Lyon pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Here you go," Marinette handed the top coordinator some aspirin.
"Thank you," he took it immediately.
Adrien had known Lyon for quite a while now. Lyon had come from a rich family just like he did. But while he had been almost forced to model, Lyon's parents let him choose his own path. He was known for being the youngest ever grand coordinator out there. But since he had met him, Adrien also knew that Lyon generally was very humble and kind, but was basically an ice prince to anyone that tries to use him for their own gain.
So if Lila was not in trouble before, she sure was going to be now that Lyon knew about her lying about him. And that was troubling enough without Lyon's twin sister, Vallia, hearing about this. She might have the nickname of the Flower Princess and might be trying to become a Pokemon doctor, but that did not mean she was not dangerous on the battlefield.
"If she is still telling lies, I am guessing that she still has her regular audience," Adrien looks at Marinette again.
She nodded sadly. "Alya is still her most loyal sheep and there are also a lot of other friends of ours that are under her spell as well."
Lyon looked at the two with a raised eyebrow, silently asking for more details.
"There are times where I can escape photoshoots even if I do not have a contest to sneak off to," Adrien explained. "I would meet up with Marinette as much as I could and she introduced me to a lot of her friends. I have especially gotten along well with Nino, Kim, Juleka, and Marinette's boyfriend Luka."
"And before Lila came along, my friend Alya was my best friend," Marinette said. "I went to our town pokémon school with them before we all started our journeys. But when Lila showed up with all of her tall tales and false promises, they follow her like sheep following their shepherd. Most of my old class is under her spell. Only Adrien, myself, Luka, Kim, Juleka, and our other friends Nathaniel, Marc, and Kagami know that she is nothing but a liar."
"Alya used to be a reporter hopeful," Adrien tells Lyon. "She ran a very popular blog about up-and-coming battlers and coordinators. But then Lila came along with her tales and now most of Alya's blog is about her. She basically takes Lila's words as gospel and attacks anyone that so much as even hints that they think that Lila is anything less than a perfect angel."
"Wow," Lyon gasped. "This girl sounds worse than an angry Darkrai, and you never want to run into one of those."
"Yeah, Lila is a piece of work," Adrien sighed. "She really needs to be silenced before her tales get someone into trouble."
"Yeah," Marinette said. "She has been saying how Jagged Stone wrote a song about her and that Clara Nightingale stole dance moves from her. Those types of lies can ruin their careers."
"Well, I have no secret identity," Lyon says. "She won't be able to lie her way out of me saying that I have no idea who she is."
"Just be careful how you explain how you heard about her lies," Adrien warned him. "Lila has been trying to turn people against Marinette because she knows about her lies. At a few past contests that I had won, I heard a few other coordinators insulting her all because of lies that Lila told about her."
Lyon looked disgusted by the behavior. Coordinators and battlers were both very large families. Yes, there were some bad seeds in each family, but this girl was something way beyond a bad seed. How can one person just be such a selfish liar that she is willing to ruin another person's life just because they did not believe their lies?
But before they could continue their conversation, an announcement was made over the backstage speakers. It was for the coordinators that were competing to get ready since the first round was going to be starting soon.
"Just do your best, you two," Lyon tells them. "And if that liar gives you any trouble, she won't be much of an issue for much longer."
With a "Whoosh" of his cloak, Lyon left to go down the hallway. He had his own business at the Grand Festival that he needed to take care of before he would be able to help his friends.
"He always did like to make dramatic exits," Adrien chuckled.
"I just hope we actually won't have to deal with Lila for much longer," Marinette says.
The two of them went the opposite way down the hall, to the locker room where the contestants have to stay when they are not on stage. Adrien went to the side and leaned against the wall to keep up his appearance of the mysterious and quiet Cat Noir. Looking around the room, he noticed some familiar faces. Like Marinette had gone to stand next to her boyfriend, and fellow coordinator, Luka. There was also her friend Nathaniel and his boyfriend Marc along with her former friend Nino, Alya's boyfriend. Adrien also noticed his childhood friend Chloe as well and, unfortunately, Lila.
Soon, on the screens, appeared Marian, the usual contest announcer for Sinnoh. And from the audience that was seen in the background, Adrien could make out Kagami in the crowd as well as Alya. He was surprised to see Kagami there, but it was a very welcome surprise.
"Welcome, everyone to the beautiful waterside town of Lake Valor for this year's Grand Festival," she announced into her mic, making the crowd cheer. "Sixty talented coordinators from all over the Sinnoh region have joined us here to perform and battle their way into becoming the newest Top Coordinator!"
"And that will be me," was muttered all around the locker room, from confident and cocky contestants.
"Over the next few days, these talents coordinators will perform and battle their way into being named the next Top Coordinator," Marian continued. "The first stage is the Performance Stage, where our contestants will show off the beauty of their pokémon and their moves in double performances. After this stage, we will boil down our contestants to the lucky thirty-two for the Battle Stage where they will fight in double battles to win the chance to be named Top Coordinator."
"We got this, Torterra," Adrien whispered to the Pokeball in his hand.
"And to help us, let me introduce our judges," Marian continued again. "First is the Chief of the Pokémon Activities Committee, our head judge, Mr.Contesta."
"I look forward to watching all these coordinators doing their very best," the judge said as the spotlight shined down on him.
"Next is the President of the Pokémon Fan Club, Mr.Sukiza," Marian introduced.
"Remarkable," the next judge used his catchphrase.
"And, of course, Nurse Joy," Marian announced. "She is a very special guest all the way from the Kanto region."
The spotlight shined down on the pokemon nurse.
"It's an honor to be here and to help judge these amazing contestants, I called my sisters from Pewter City and Cerulean City."
Two more Nurse Joy seemed to materialize from behind her.
"We're very happy to be here," they all said at once.
"And last, but definitely not the least, our guest judge," Marian announces, making the crowd and contestants curious as to who it might be. "He is the youngest ever Top Coordinator of three regions and has graced us with his presence from all the way in Kalos. He's known as the White Wolf, it's Lyon Garden!"
A fourth spotlight shined down and Lyon was presented, making the crowd erupt into cheers.
Adrien was both shocked and not shocked at the same time. He figured that Lyon was here for a reason, but he suspected that it was for a guest performance, not as a judge. But he did smirk as he saw Lila pale a little at the sight of one of the people that she lied about.
"Ladies and gentlemen, coordinators of all ages," Lyon says. "I hope to see plenty of creativity, skill, passion, and most of all, I want to see good sportsmanship. I wish you all the luck in the world, but I will still tell you the cold hard truth about everything you and your pokemon do."
Adrien chuckled under his breath. Lyon would always be Lyon, and that meant that the Ice Prince, which all of their friends called him, would come out every now and again.
"The performance stage will be divided into three separate stages," Marian announced as all three male judges went to a separate stage with one of the Nurse Joy's. "Blue, green, and red. And the performances will be happening simultaneously. Let's get this first round started!"
The crowd cheered. In the locker room, the three first contestants were called out for each of the stages.
Adrien certainly got the meaning of the three stages. It was an extra challenge to be able to do a proper performance when there were two others happening at the same time. It was all about being able to focus on what you were doing and not get overwhelmed.
As the performances started and coordinators showed off their skills, Adrien definitely saw a few that would be his main competition. Such as when Luka took his turn on the blue stage, he did a very enchanting performance with his Sunflora and ghost-type Oricoro. As Marinette has told him, Luka loves music and almost always includes sound in his performances. And as he heard the sound and saw the glowing musical notes of Luka's performance, he knew that boy was going to be a challenging opponent.
There was also Nathaniel and Marc. They worked on a pokemon comic book together, so both of their creative and artistic skills showed in their performances. And it was also an amazing sight to see how Nathaniel had a rare Phione that he paired with his Piplup for his performance was stunning aquatic moves. And Marc was definitely no slouch as he gave an incredible display of nature with his Meganium and Cherubi.
But that was to say that there were not some fails as well.
Sadly, this list of fails included Nino. Adrien might have once called him a friend, but that certainly stopped when the guy started believing Lila's lies about Marinette. And by how badly he failed his performance, Adrien had to guess that Nino had probably taken some of Lila's "advice" about what he should do. It certainly was not a good look to the green stage judges when his Buizel went flying back from a Will-O-Wisp from his Drifblim was too powerful for the combo he was trying to do.
When Marinette got her turn on the red stage, Adrien was proven right when he had guessed that she would do a flawless performance. It was an amazing combination of her icy Amaura with her beautiful Vivillon. Especially when she had beautiful glowing snowflakes falling all over the stage with a combination of icy wind and silver wind followed by a morning sun.
Plus, it was certainly nice to see Lila so angry over Marinette having done nothing wrong in her performance one bit.
But even Adrien had to admit that even though he hated Lila as a person, she did pretty well during her own performance. Sure, her combo moves were a little predictable with the pokemon that she chose, but they still worked out in the end for her. But Adrien had a feeling that like the liar that she was, she was probably just using combo moves that she has seen in the past and using them herself but with different pokemon so that it is not obvious that she is just a copycat.
Then, Cat Noir was called for the blue stage. Adrien took a deep breath as he went out toward the stage. He passed Marinette on his way and she gave him an encouraging hug. He knew that Lyon was the judge for the blue stage along with the main Nurse Joy guest judge from Kanto. But he knew that Lyon would not judge him any easier just because they were friends. If anything, he'd be judged harder since Lyon knows how hard he had trained for this.
"And next on the blue stage is the talk of the Grand Festival," he heard Marian announce. "A masked coordinator that has been taking the contest world by storm. The pokemon contest prodigy himself, Cat Noir."
There was loud cheering as he ran out there and pulled out his pokeballs.
"Torterra, Togekiss, claws out," he threw their pokeballs into the air with his signature catchphrase.
With the star sticker on both the pokeballs, both of the pokemon came out in a swirl of stars. Most would doubt using a pokemon as big and tough-looking as Torterra for the Performance Stage, but Adrien was not most people.
Togekiss lands gracefully on the tree of Torterra's shell. There was a reason why Togekiss were known as some of the most graceful pokemon in the world.
"Togekiss, sky attack. Torterra, leaf storm," Adrien commanded.
Togekiss shined with a white aura as it slowly floated into the air. But at the same time, Torterra's tree let out its storm of leaves and green wind. Since Togekiss was right on the tree, as it flew into the air, the storm swirled around it and followed it. The leaves and window giving off an incredible light that was a result of the combo of the light of the sky attack with the flow of the leaf storm. Togekiss then flew higher into the air.
"Safeguard," Adrien commanded.
Togekiss then unleashed the blue and sea green force field that the protection move grants. It caused the sky attack and the leaf storm to disperse in a gorgeous flash of light.
Lyon and Nurse Joy both looked impressed by how he so effortlessly made a beautiful start to his performance.
"Torterra, sunny day. Togekiss, aerial ace," Adrien commanded.
Torterra's tree glowed with sunlight as it then threw a ball of light into the air. It headed right toward Togekiss as it was surrounded by streams of white energy as it flew around to use its move. The sunny day move was hit by Togekiss, resulting in a bright flash of light.
And the crowd and judges and fellow contestants gasped as Togekiss emerged from the light. The aerial ace and sunny day had merged together and had created a stunning rainbow trail that followed it as it flew around the stage. It was one of the most stunning things ever seen in a contest in ages.
Togekiss then did an aerial twirl before landing right back on Torterra's tree and causing the rainbow trail to burst into rainbow-colored sparkles that fell all over the stage.
Adrien took a bow as his performance ended. The crowd and judges were all on their feet as they gave him a giant round of applause. Lyon caught his eye and gave him a look filled with pride and congratulations.
"I don't think I have ever seen a performance like that," Lyon says, doing his judging. "A true mastery of both the power of a Torterra and the elegance of a Togekiss. Truly the best performance I have seen in a long time."
"It was indeed incredible," Nurse Joy added her judging. "To combine two pokemon so different from each other and making them work in such harmony really is a breathtaking piece of art."
Adrien could not be prouder of himself as he returned Torterra and Togekiss to their pokeballs and then started to walk back to the locker room. He was about halfway there when Marinette basically tackled him with a hug.
"I have never seen anything like that," she practically yelled in excitement. "You're Torterra was so well-trained and Togekiss was beautiful. I will never know where you get your time to train performances like that, but that was so awesome."
Adrien chuckled at the enthusiasm of his friend.
"Thanks, Marinette," he said. "I loved your performance as well. Those snowflakes were such works of art and they were almost like fairies floating around the stage."
Marinette blushed at the compliment.
"Thanks," she smiled. "I knew that ice moves and flying-type moves are usually a good mix, so when you add in the light from the silver wind, it creates the snowflakes."
"I just know that I will see you in the finals," Adrien grinned at her. "I may not want to beat you, but I'm going to."
"In your dreams, kitty," Marinette giggled as she knew that it would be one hell of a showdown.
"Get your hands off of Lila's man, Mari-brat," a female voice was heard.
"And, here we go again," Marinette groaned.
Marinette turned around as Adrien looked at who was yelling. It seems that Alya was as much of Lila's attack Growlith now as she always seems to be since the liar showed up in their lives. And it looked like Lila was fake crying behind her while Nino was trying to comfort her.
"Uh... who are you," Adrien asked.
Now, Adrien had done some voice acting for a few movies that his dad wanted him to do. So, he was a pretty good actor. Adrien might know who Alya is, but Cat Noir has never met her before.
Alya looked at Adrien, smiling at him. But he could still see the rage in her eyes over something that Lila probably lied about. This was probably about the lies about him dating Lila with the liar probably also throwing in some other lies to make Marinette look even worse.
"Oh, I guess Lila never mentioned me," Alya said. "I'm Alya, your girlfriend's best friend."
"Uh... And who is..." Adrien tried to reveal Lila as a liar.
"Oh, don't worry about lying to protect her," Alya interrupted him, proving that they were right about how Lila would lie her way out of Cat Noir saying that he did not know her. "But I should warn you that this girl that you're talking to is nothing but a giant bully."
"Excuse me," Adrien had to stop himself from snapping at Marinette's former best friend.
"She is nothing but a bully, liar, and cheat," Alya glared at Marinette. "She is always bullying Lila and trying to steal her pokemon. She always calls Lila a liar when she is no such thing. Plus, she drugs all her pokemon to make sure her performances are good. Plus, she steals Lila's contest ideas. So, get your hands off of Lila's boyfriend, Mari-brat."
"You know, Luka used to tell me that you're heart song screamed that you were a bad friend," Marinette crossed her arms. "I did not believe him, but I will never doubt him ever again since you have ditched me for a liar."
"SEE," Alya yelled as she looked at Adrien and pointed at Marinette as if she had just been proven right. "She just called Lila a liar. She is a total bully."
"Well, she obviously is..." Adrien was interrupted again but by a different person this time.
"Hello, kitty," Lyon says as he approached the group.
"Wolfie," Adrien was immediately back in a good mood as he saw his friend.
"I have a reward for you for such an incredible performance," Lyon said.
Before Adrien could ask, he was suddenly kissed by Lyon. But the shock soon wore off as he melted into the kiss.
Marinette looked ready to burst in excitement as her ship has finally sailed. But she did now owe Luka a batch of his favorite caramel and chocolate scones since he had bet her that the two would get together at the Grand Festival while she thought it would happen after it. But she did not care.
Alya looked ready to burst in anger. Lila looked like she wanted to either cry more fake tears or just throw a monster tantrum. Nino just stood there with his mouth hanging open.
"WHAT IN THE NAME OF ARCEUS ARE YOU DOING," Alya screamed.
That made them break apart from the kiss. But Lyon just put his arm around Adrien's waist.
"I believe that I was kissing my boyfriend," Lyon said. "We've had to keep it secret because of the media, but we've been together a few months."
Adrien and Marinette both knew that he was lying, but they did not care. Besides, this was to both expose Lila and have an excuse to start dating.
"You've been cheating on your girlfriend for that long," Alya continued to scream.
Lila then chose to speak up, also choosing to fake cry.
"How could you do this to be, Noir," she cried to fake tears.
"Oh, so this is the girl that you were warning me about, Marinette," Adrien decided to join Lyon in his act. "The one that was going around and saying that I was dating her?"
"Yep, that's her," Marinette played along as well.
"Well, then," Adrien started, facing Alya. "As I was about to tell you, I do not have a girlfriend. I never have and I never will. As you can plainly see, I am gay and I have a wonderful boyfriend."
"Lila is not a liar," Alya continued to scream. "You're just a cheater that is trying to make her look bad."
"Wow, this girl is a piece of work," Lyon rolled his eyes.
"You should be ashamed of yourself," Alya yelled at Lyon. "She was the one that gave you the inspiration to be the White Wolf and you trained her to be a coordinator. How could you betray her like this?!?"
"Her? Inspire me? As if," Lyon gave Alya an icy glare. "This is the first day that I have ever met this girl. I became the White Wolf because my sister used to call me a wolf because of how loyal I am to my friends and family. They also all call me the Ice Prince, so White Wolf was born out of my two childhood nicknames."
"You need better friends since Marinette is most definitely is right," Adrien said. "This Lila girl is, most definitely, nothing but a liar."
"Let's go before our IQ gets any lower from being around a liar and her loyal sheep," Lyon held Adrien's hand as the three of them left. "And if someone is accusing you of drugging your pokemon, Marinette, I will lend you my family lawyers to sue that liar for slander."
Marinette wanted to laugh so hard as she saw the look of horror on Lila's face as they passed. She did start laughing once they were out of earshot.
"This is turning into the best day of my life," Marinette looked so happy.
"You're welcome," Lyon smirked.
"Won't you now get accused of favoritism when Lila will probably spread that you two are 'together' as revenge," Marinette asked Lyon.
"Everyone saw Adrien's performance, so I doubt that will happen," Lyon was confident.
"Okay," Marinette accepted that. "Also, it is about time you two got together. Adrien's had a crush on you forever."
"MARINETTE," Adrien yelled as he blushed.
All Marinette did in response was smirk and giggle.

Amazons by Fade31415
[image: two sets of fanart featuring Amazon characters from DC. the first is whole body shots, the second is faces. they feature Io, Phillipus, Diana of Themyscira, Artemis of Bana Mighdall, Donna Troy, and Grace Choi. Io is wearing her comic outfit -- blacksmith apron, light loincloth/tunic thing on her lower half, boots, gloves, a headband, and no shirt. she is broad and wide and has short brown hair.
Phillipus is wearing her gold-colored armor and a red cape and red headband. she has long hair in dreadlocks and a slight but muscular build. Diana is wearing her wonder woman outfit she wore to fight medousa, sans the helmet, so she has the greek armored skirt thing instead of her usual underpants. she is tall and broad shouldered and broad shouldered and muscular. next to her is artemis of bana mighdall, who is around the same height (only slightly shorter than wonder woman), wearing a black outfit and white jacket with the sleeves rolled up, holding a sword. She has her hair tied back in a long ponytail. next to her is Donna Troy in her starry outfit that is black with silver boots and a silver belt. next to the other amazons she seems small but she’s 5′9″. finally is Grace choi, who is 7 feet tall and very buff, the largest of the bunch. she has reddish hair and is wearing a red crop top and black pants. she has tattoos on her upper arms and abdomen.
next there are close ups of the six women’s faces. end image]
end image, begin commentary
had a pretty autistic overwhelmy day so mostly just drew lineart and finished this
Recently I read through Greg Rucka's New Earth Wonder Woman Run...
Felt the need to draw some Amazons.
misc design decisions:
Io: Io got to keep her comic outfit. She felt way more naked than I thought she would drawing her in that outfit but id already finished lineart by time i realized that. oops. Io also got broadened up a little just to distinguish her from the other amazons more -- she was supposed to be big according to the back of the book notes but i wanted my other amazons to be bigger than they were in comics so...
Phillipus: phillipus actually got to keep her design in the comics. she’s wearing one of the many outfits she appeared in, I think this one being her down to business outfit.
Wonder Woman: Wonder Woman’s body type was changed slightly since I drew her last. she’s a hair more bottom heavy and her arms are a little leaner to better distinguish her from Grace. she’s wearing the outfit she wore to kill medousa (sans helmet) because i REALLY liked it. that said I can see why it was a one off because that plate skirt was a pain in the ass to draw.
Artemis: Artemis is drawn with the outfit she was given in the concept art in the back of the book because she changed her outfit every scene in the book and I didn’t want to find out which one was most artemis-y.
Donna: Donna doesn’t appear in this series (except at the way end when she’s trying to convince wonder woman to help her punch the universe ending threat in the face) but I drew her anyway because she’s an amazon and I like her. She has the same body type and face I gave her when drawing her in comparison to the other teen titans. Poor thing looks tiny smushed between Artemis and Grace but shes’ 5′9″ like she is in canon I swear
Grace: Grace also didn’t appear in this series but I love her so. She’s drawn pretty much how I always draw her, giant and buff. She really threw off the scale in this image XD Normally wonder woman would look tall and Donna would look average height, now Grace looks tall, everyone but donna and phillipus look average, and donna looks short :P

Me: “I should probably be writing so I don’t get so desperate at the last minute that--”
My brain: “The El Goonish Shive characters as students of Beacon academy MAKE IT HAPPEN GO GO GO!”
Me: “FINE. I’ll draw notes, but I’m not necessarily doing the story!”
So anyway here’s some notes for a story I’m not necessarily doing.
Team SPET (Spectral), led by Grace
Grace Sciuridae:
Faunus, Vale origin. Squirrel tail, “antennae” forelocks, and clawed fingernails/toenails (not actual claws, she just let them grow out.
Emblem: An acorn, generally worn as a pin on her sleeve.
Outfit is a loose long-sleeved shirt in green, black pants, bandoleer belt with a sheathe for her weapon and pouches, and no shoes/gloves.
Beacon uniform adjustments: no shoes, and she doesn’t wear the neck ribbon thing, but otherwise standard girl’s outfit.
Semblance: Extensorary. Grace can extend her aura to feel anything in the area, manipulate objects, or simulate flight.
Weapon: Shade Tail. A zweihander that splits into two bladed whips. Possible Dust effects.
Backstory: Kidnapped as a child by Damien, who in this universe is an absolutely insane faunus-supremacist that thinks he can control the Grimm, Grace lived several unkind years in the forests of Vale before managing to escape and arriving at Beacon academy. Ozpin let her in as a student mostly to provide her the protection of paperwork, since from what she’s describing Damien might be tied to the Bigger Secret of the world. She becomes partners with Tedd during initiation. Her upbringing does leave her mostly the same as EGS prime canon, ignorance of all social norms included, but she has an especial dislike of the creatures of Grimm due to Damien’s madness. Also she doesn’t get racism. Period.
Susan Pompoms:
Human, Argus origin. Appears mostly the same as EGS canon, with exception of single blonde side-braid.
Emblem: Venus symbol, used as a belt buckle.
Outfit is a dark blue longcoat has straps on the back, through which backpack straps are run to hold onto her Big Box O’ Stuff. Wears blue pants held up by belt and going into calf-high boots, black leotard, and black three-finger half gloves. Shoulder armor and a metal backbrace.
Beacon uniform adjustments: Boy’s uniform instead of girl’s, but otherwise standard.
Semblance: Portation. Susan can mark any container as hers and teleport whatever's in it to herself and back.
Weapon: Morrígna. A warhammer that can split into a sword and mallet. The mallet can morph into a one-handed gun.
Backstory: The early parts of the backstory would remain basically the same, but she doesn’t meet Nanase until Beacon and has only a passing familiarity with Sarah as ‘Oh yeah, her family comes to Argus sometimes.’ But she would have a friendship/rivalry with Pyrrha, which might lead to some interesting interactions with Jaune. She winds up partnered with Elliot during initiation. And, upon realizing how completely unaware of social norms sheltered Grace is, would be very vocal about certain people not abusing her.
Elliot Dunkel:
Human, Mantle origin. Literally looks the same as canon, because why break a good look?
Emblem: An oval with some abstract lines, seen as a symbol on his shirt.
Outfit is a White cape and black crop-top, black pants and white shoes, belts in an x-shape over his belly with pouches for carrying things.
Beacon uniform adjustments: he does not wear the white undershirt. That’s it. The jacket’s buttoned up, but he doesn’t wear the undershirt.
Semblance: Soul Fury. Elliot can draw on the negativity of others, such as pain and fear, in order to increase his own physical attack strength. He has trained this to a degree that he is capable of jumping to intense heights.
Weapons: Honor and Justice. Arm-mounted bladed tonfas, capable of shooting grappling hooks from the wrist to either drag himself to a location or to bring a foe to him. Used to be part of the Four Ideals, but leg-mounted equivalents went to Ellen.
Backstory: Saved Tedd from some bullies during one of his visits to Mantle, became close friends. Otherwise standard backstory. Some people might note his childhood doesn’t mention his twin sister, and he’ll say there was a whole money-legality thing until recently. Anybody with a truth-sensing semblance will know he’s lying. The truth, however, is Very Classified. Like seriously you don’t know how classified it is.
Tedd Verres:
Human, Atlas origin. Left half of his hair is the original ‘long hair’, right half is the new ‘pixie cut’.
Emblem: A circle with three lines extending from it, which is placed on his equipment.
Outfit is a light blue longcoat with internal pockets (and everyone is going to comment on that since none of the other characters have pockets), light blue pants, black shirt and boots. Also some purple armor around his chest that is slightly rounded and matching greaves on his legs.
Beacon uniform adjustments: wears the girl’s outfit, but with a tie.
Semblance: Copyscan. Tedd can identify other people's semblances with some observation, and make limited-use copies of them with physical contact.
Weapon: Convergence. A gauntlet with an extendable shield, which also stores copies of semblances. Ted also has an energy pistol called Expedience.
Backstory: Tedd’s dad still works for a coverup agency, but now it’s the RWBY-canon ‘Keep Magic and the existence of Salem an utter secret’ cover-up agency. Tedd was brought into this against his father’s wishes when General Ironwood realized the potency of his semblance, but this also gave him access to a few classified doohickies such as this fused universe’s version of the Dewitchery Diamond. Going to Beacon is meant as a ‘field test’ of Tedd as an agent, at least according to Ironwood, but there’s also his dad wanting him to have friends that aren’t involved in all the top secret drama. Also yes, he does have a copy of Ellen’s gender change spell in Convergence which she willingly refreshes for him, and he will sometimes spend time as a girl. (Possible connection to May Marigold down the line?)
Team STNE (Stone), led by Sarah
Sarah Brown:
Human, Mistral origin. The only real difference is that her hairband now sports fancy curls and flanges and also it’s made of bronze as a sort of informal helmet.
Emblem: a double-sided question mark which is engraved into her arm guards.
Outfit is a pink knee-length dress, belt with four pouches radially aligned. Armored boots, greaves, and with her shoulders, all bronze.
Beacon uniform adjustments: none, but she still wears her headgear.
Semblance: Lookout. Sarah can instantly take in details about her environment to a highly detailed degree, with a range that extends the more aura she pours into it. While she can examine things that might be hidden, i.e. the inside of a closed book, she cannot change anything.
Weapon: Zauberei. Spear/staff that can shift into a rifle and split into a pistol and dagger. It sort of looks like a giant paintbrush?
Backstory: An ordinary Mistral combat student who went up against Pyrrha Nikos and Susan during some combat tournaments and got a case of starry eyes for both of them. Upon hearing they were going to Beacon, she decided to go too because why not? What she doesn’t realize is that she’s going to be put in charge of a team of Secrets and Drama. She winds up partnered with Justin during initiation.
Justin Tolkiberry:
Human, Vale origin. Aside from a very fancy set of earrings in one ear, he looks about the same as his canon counterpart.
Emblem: Abstract fire, which is displayed prominantly on the back of his gi.
Outfit is an open orange gi with lots of red fire patterns and buckled belts around the ankles, thighs, biceps, and forearms. Also sandles. And he does have a belt around the pants with a few pouches.
Beacon uniform adjustments: Wears sandles instead of shoes.
Semblance: Not known, exactly. Justin knows he can ignore damage sometimes, but the details are unclear.
Weapon: Dashing Delver. A rectangle-headed shovel that turns into a tower shield/sled.
Backstory: Basically the same as canon Justin, except that because Remnant is more accepting of LGBT+ people overall he wasn’t bullied and was just very irritated at Mellissa. Also Elliot and Nanase were on entirely different continents so there’s that. He’ll be the snarky rational one when everything about his team is revealed.
Nanase Kitsune:
Faunus, Menagerie origin. Has naturally dual-colored hair to match her naturally dual-colored fox ears.
Emblem: A heart-shaped fox head thing she wears on her shirt.
Outfit is a black jacket, yellow croptop with emblem in red, red skirt with yellow trim, red armbands, black shoes, and a pouch belt that hangs off one hip instead of being used as a belt.
Beacon Uniform Adjustment: She keeps her armbands.
Semblance: Fairy Companion. Nanase can summon fairy companions to herself or anyone she has an emotional connection with. These fairies run off her subconscious unless she deliberately controls them, and can be used to communicate, scout, or detonate as weapons. Their size is controllable, ranging from ‘hold in one hand’ to ‘outright as big as Nanase herself’, though they always appear to be wearing what Nanase is at time of summoning. Larger fairies take proportionally more aura to summon.
Weapon: Faewind. A backpack with four cable-attached fairy wings. Each wing is a bladed arm/leg shield with inbuilt nozzles that serve either as short-range blasters or a jetpack when retracted.
Backstory: The Kitsunes are a very important family in Menagerie, with a lot of political clout, and Nanase is expected to reflect that as her mother sends her to Beacon in order to indirectly represent Menagerie at the Vytal tournament. Nanase, however, is using this first chance to not have to be a Perfect Icon to actually search for her own identity. She becomes partners with Ellen during initiation, and picks up on how Ellen is really not comfortable talking about her own past. There’s a slow gradual growth of trust going on, and Nanase slowly comes to realize she might love this girl.
Ellen Dunkel:
Human(ish), Mantle origin. Looks the same as canon because of course she does.
Emblem: A rectangular mirror with a suspiciously familiar diamond shape in the center, painted on her shirt.
Outfit: Where Elliot wears a cape, Ellen wears an open coat. But otherwise it’s basically the same, if adjusted for female.
Beacon Uniform adjustments: She doesn’t wear the socks. That’s it. She wears the shoes but not the socks.
Semblance: Shift Beam. Ellen is capable of generating a beam of light from her palm. If the target has no active aura, it is impacted with a degree of force relative to the amount of aura input. If a target does have aura, the beam can cause temporary physical alteration; Ellen is still learning the ins and outs of this, but she can usually make other bodies more like hers (i.e. physically female). This is noted to be unusual, since no other known semblance outright shapeshifts people. Consequently, she tries to avoid using it in ways where this can be observed.
Weapon: Courage and Virtue. Leg tonfas. Complete with jump-jets. Used to be Elliot's.
Backstory: Officially she’s just the long-lost twin of Elliot’s who recently got back out of the foster care system. Unofficially, the dewitchery diamond exists in this fused universe and Ellen has to keep her origin a secret because if Salem heard about her hooooo boy! The original plan was for her, Elliot, and Tedd to all be on the same team so they could protect each other but she wound up partnering with Nanase and then on a seperate team and now Ellen is conflicted between explaining her origins to her partner and not wanting people to freak out. But she does slowly start to explain her various quirks, as people (especially Nanase) start to notice stuff about her.
The Plot:
I dunno, team SPET and STNE interact with teams RWBY and JNPR and get involved in the world-spanning conspiracy? My brain is saying this is enough for now.

BNHA Fic: Blink! Ch. 7
Read Ch. 6 | Masterlist
Early update today since I have stuff to do tomorrow.
SPOILER ALERT: This chapter officially begins the Shie Hassaikai (The Eight Precepts of Death) Arc. We finally get to see Ren in action as a hero this chapter. You’ve been warned!
Tumblr media
After Fat Gum’s formal submission in accepting Ren and Kirishirma as his interns were processed and approved by U.A., the two made their way down to Kansai with their hero costumes in tow. Amajiki met up with them at the office to give them the general rundown of the routine.
“When you wear your costumes out in public, you’re officially heroes,” the third year firmly spoke. “So be sure to address each other by your hero names if you want to protect your identity. We start patrol in ten minutes.”
“Yes, sir!”
The two interns entered their respective spaces to change into their costumes and reemerged a few minutes later. Kirishima’s costume had been mildly fine tuned since its alpha stage, adding loosely draped sleeves on his arm to protect civilians from his quirk when it activates. Ren’s, in hindsight, looked more mysterious; she donned a bi-colored hood of a dark gray-blue on the outside and crimson red on the inside with a leather eye mask on her face. The rest of her costume consisted of a black leather bolero vest with cutout sleeves, matching black slacks and utility bag with a silver stylized “B” as her belt buckle. Her velcro strapped steel toed boots had red accents at the top. A pair of arm guards the same color as her top with a loose leather strap and chrome metal bangles made up her accessory.
She looked like a cross between a ninja and a medieval vigilante warrior.
“Oh, you got rid of that weird cape scarf on your shoulder,” Amajiki remarked when he saw her costume.
“I had to lessen the drag resistance when I use my quirk,” Ren stated, brushing off some non-existent lint on her shoulder. “And I improved the durability of my guards after my last spar with Tomoe.”
“If you wanted more speed, you could’ve worn a body suit,” Kirishima commented, making her blush furiously and looked down.
“It… shows too much I don’t wanna show,” the girl quivered out her response, remembering the alpha version of her costume. The boys couldn’t stop gawking at her during and after their training session in her first year.
“Ah, that body suit...” Amajiki remembered. “You must’ve had a lot of trouble with that.”
“If it weren’t for Tomoe and Seri scaring the boys off, I’m sure the harassment wouldn’t have stopped and I’d still be eating lunch on the rooftop by myself,” she uttered. “Using the bathroom with it was a pain, too.”
Their conversation was interrupted with Fat Gum’s entrance into the main office, prompting them to make final preparation for their nightly patrol on the streets of Esuna-shi. Making their way down to the main street, Kirishima softly called Ren.
“Ren-senpai… I just realized I don’t know your hero name. I mean, you know mine so...”
“It’s Blink.”
“Short and easy to remember. Got it, Blink!” He flashed her a toothy grin with a thumbs up.
“Keep a keen eye on your surroundings, young’uns,” Fat Gum reminded. “Anythin’ can happen once the sun goes down. There’s no shortage of gangs and street punks as of late. You guys came at a good time, honestly. The heroes ‘round here don’t like to fight much.”
“We’re happy to be here,” Red Riot enthusiastically replied with vigor.
“We’ll do what we can to help,” Blink calmly replied.
While Fat Gum, Suneater and Red Riot were immersed in conversation, Blink continued to scan the premises for anything suspicious, a habit she formed after interning with Hawks. An area with lots of civilians hustling and bustling around the streets would be a perfect cover-up for a getaway in the form of a commotion.
All of a sudden, the four heard someone screaming, “It’s a fight! Someone help!”
Quickly turning to the source of the outcry, they saw a group of thugs in loose business clothing running away from something.
“Let’s split up!” one shouted, prompting the four to get into the action.
Tumblr media
Fat Gum managed to stop three with his body as another slipped his grasp by using his quirk, to which Suneater easily took care of with his ability, Manifest. Blink ran ahead and tapped her bangles together, forming a pair of T-batons before teleporting further to incapacitate a bigger gentleman wearing a hat and sunglasses by slamming her weapon at the side of his face at full force, knocking him unconscious.
All Red Riot could do was stand around in the midst of chaos. He understood even though Amajiki-senpai was the way he is, he was the real deal. And so was Ren. This was what he meant by being a hero without hesitation. He was in awe and looked further down to see the hooded heroine standing on top of a giant man’s shoulder, kneeling down to take his pulse. The boy didn’t even notice how fast she moved in taking control of the situation.
“I… did good, didn’t I?” he heard Suneater’s voice tremble out as he reverted his tentacled hand back to its original form.
“You were awesome!” Red Riot praised. “You whipped out your quirk so quick too...”
“If you’re talkin’ about ability alone, Suneater’s already outclassing most pros! He just needs to be mentally stronger!” Fat Gum replied after assisting an officer in taking away the culprit he stopped.
A roaring cheer came from the civilians, making Suneater shake from nervousness. From a short distance, Blink saw a glint of metal reflecting from the lights at her vantage point.
“Fat Gum!” she shouted and saw a guy in the crowd holding a gun aimed at them.
“Get down!” The rotund hero warned as the shot fired, hitting Suneater in the left arm. The assailant fired again, this time at Red Riot’s head. Luckily, his head guard ricocheted the bullet off.
“You’re mine!” Red Riot angrily bellowed as he activated his quirk.
The shooter looked at his gun and panicked as the crowd were sent into a screaming frenzy, some shouting “A hero’s been shot!”
Blink immediately teleported to Red Riot and Suneater’s side, taking a defensive stance.
“Suneater! Are you okay?!”
“It didn’t hurt like it was supposed to...” he wearily blurted out and gingerly sat up from the ground.
The criminal quickly made his getaway in the crowd, with Red Riot and Blink hot on his trail. Fat Gum trailed not too far behind and gave Suneater instructions to take care of the situation, but stopped in his steps when he revealed his quirk wouldn’t activate. It couldn’t be…
The chase was on with the remaining two heroes, with Red Riot taking the main street and Blink taking to the rooftops for a better vantage point.
“Stay back! Stop followin’ me!” the shooter screamed.
“How about you stop running, then?!” Red Riot replied.
“You idiot, don’t engage in a conversation with him,” Blink muttered to herself, keeping her pace up and beamed herself across three buildings.
Scanning further down the street, she saw they were going to turn up to a dead end. She ran further ahead to create a pincer attack formation. Catching the momentum of her run, Blink leaped off of the rooftop and phased down to the street, facing the scared assailant with a glare.
“End of the line, scum.”
“Give it up!” Red Riot shouted from behind him.
In a heightened state of fear, the man activated his quirk with blades emerging from his forearm and attacked Blink first, only to have it intercepted by her batons. She followed up a punch to his stomach. He stumbled backwards and tried his hand at Red Riot, only to be intercepted with his Red Counter.
“I held back, so come quietly, you bastard!”
The redhead’s guard softened the moment they heard the criminal sobbing on the ground, complaining about his quirk and all he wanted to do was save his bros from getting caught despite how scared he was. Red Riot consoled him as what seemed like his resolve being broken was merely a facade as Blink quickly noticed something sliding down his left sleeve and into his palm.
“Get away from him!” she shouted but it was too late.
The man stabbed something into his neck and violent convulsed in place.
“What’d you do?! What did you inject into yourself?!” the boy exclaimed and ignored her warning.
Within a millisecond, Blink dashed and tackled Red Riot by the torso and teleported to a safer distance as blades extended out of every part of the enemy’s body. The newly formed weapons nicked both of them on the arms and stabbed through a space in Blink’s hood before they fell to the ground with a soft grunt.
“You moron...” she groaned out and pulled herself off of him. “Don’t talk to villains like they’re your friends!”
He looked up to see her face was grazed by the blades, with small droplets of blood rolling down her right cheek. Her hood had been sliced, revealing her disheveled rose-gold hair.
You’re lookin’ a bit ragged there, Red Riot,” she joked upon noticing his headgear had pretty much disintegrated from the close range attack. “Sure you can still fight?”
The boy gingerly stood and regained his composure, flashing a determined grin at Blink and replied, “It’s gonna take more than a few blades to take me down.”
The two turned to face the villain, who was currently smiling madly with power, with blades extending out about 5 meters in diameter. At that moment, Red Riot realized this was a dangerous situation for onlookers. He looked down at Blink and saw her expression immediately changed into something fearful. If anyone were to see her right now, they’d think she was the villain.
Her usual warm and friendly hazel-green eyes were sharp and vindictive, glaring fiercely at their opponent.
She knew all too well what this was: Trigger, a type of quirk booster.
The fuel to her anger burned slowly in the pits of her stomach. Quickly putting her batons together at the tips, her weapon transformed into a long staff and stamped it on the ground with a heavy thud.
“Let’s end this quick.”
“Everyone, get back!” he turned to warn the civilians nearby. “Get to a place where the blades won’t get you!”
The villain made his first move by shooting his blades at a distracted Red Riot, only to have Blink intercept most of them with her staff by smashing down on it; the stray few sent him sliding down the street. The blades ended up cutting him in his current hardened form.
“You got cocky, kid! Acting all high any mighty, preaching about justice!” he boasted madly. “It’s just like my bros said: the age of heroes is coming to an end!”
Catching a glimpse of Red Riot’s current status, she assumed he must be feeling vulnerable and decided it was best to regroup with him before jumping back into the fray.
“Harden your heart, Red Riot,” she uttered out to him in an earshot. “Make yourself something nothing can take down. Not even All-Might himself.”
Her words brought him back to the conversation he had with his friends a while back about his quirk’s weaknesses due to the lack of attacks he had. But then he suddenly remembered Bakugou’s words:
“If you refuse to go down, it means you’re stupidly strong.”
Concentrating all his energy, his body morphed into layers of hardened skin; his hands turning into monstrous claws, his face a shell of its former self. His body contorted into something new. While he was building up his quirk, Blink used herself as a decoy in deflecting all the blades currently shooting their way and caught a glimpse of reflection from one of them.
It was time to use one of her ultimate moves: Ricochet.
It allowed her to teleport into any reflective surfaces at nearly the speed of light. It’s a move that has superlative defense and best used as a distraction.
Beaming and weaving through the forest of blades, the villain found his attacks were slowly becoming ineffective. Upon some hitting Red Riot, he screamed in pain and fell backwards. Blink reverted to her physical form, panting. Looking to her side, she saw the new version of Red Riot.
One who was now Unbreakable.

Steven Universe AU Pitch:
ONE PUNCH GEM
Synopsis:
(This world is a fusion of Steven Universe and One Punch Man. Characters from both series exist in this world and some take the place of others.)
In this world the gem war went the same, except for when the Diamond attack happened. When White, Blue, and Yellow unleashed their blast and Rose blocks it with her shield all gems on Earth became corrupted. But there was another unseen side effect the attack had on humanity, it caused them to evolve. Humanity was changed allowing them to achieve strength, speed, and abilities beyond what they were capable of. Super strength, ESP, invulnerability, and more humanity were able to achieve making them stronger. But there was a negative effect to this as well, the chance that people could transform into monsters. Every human on Earth has the capability to become a monster, though the reason why has yet to be narrowed down, many believing it has to do with emotional states.
Fast forward to present day where Rose gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven. And things go about the same with the Gem’s raising Steven at the temple and capturing Corrupted Gems, but they also fight any monsters they come across who threaten humans. Steven is the same lovable kid he is kind, friendly, and heroic. But when Steven became 11 his hair suddenly turned Pink and he gained an insane amount of strength. He easily outmatched the gems in physical strength and was practically invulnerable, much to the gems shock. 3 years later Steven managed to get a hold of his strength with only a few slip ups.
In Modern day Steven lives peacefully in Beach City, but he dreams of becoming a hero like the Crystal Gems and the members of the Hero association. But the gems are still worried about his strength and not sure if he can handle a serious mission without accidentally breaking something. So, Steven is now out to prove himself to them and show that he has what it takes to be a real hero.

Fun Facts
   1.     Steven is still a pacifist, though he’s not afraid to get physical and understands that sometimes a good punch will solve the problem. Though he will usually attempt to talk his opponent down first before going to physical violence, it usually doesn’t work but there are a few times it does. Steven takes this approach with everyone humans, Monsters, and Gems. He will never Kill anyone not even monsters he usually just Knocks them out and leaves them for the authorities.
   2.     Greg and Rose unintentionally started the hero’s association. After kicking out Marty and driving to Beach City Greg doesn’t drive straight to the Beach, he sits down and thinks about what he’s doing and how his life got here. That’s when he is approached by Crablante who lets him go because he see’s he’s a coward. Later Greg runs into the Butt-Chin boy and saves him from the monster. Rose jumps into defend. Then in a moment of insane bravery Greg jumps in and defeats Crablante to save Rose and the Kid amazing both of them. The kid then told his grandfather about the kind act and the Association began.
   3.     Steven ends up becoming a deputy Hero after taking a Junior Exam. A deputy hero is like an afterschool activity for kids between the ages of 14 to 17. It mostly entails helping heroes (usually by pointing out threats or contacting the authorities) and just helping around the community. Steven of course does that but also assists heroes by just taking care of the monster. The he only does this if the Hero is in dire trouble or has been Knocked out. The Hero get’s the credit, but onlookers who saw this start talking about the boy who took down a monster with one punch on social media.
   4.     Connie ends up becoming an S class hero though a low ranking one due to them learning about how she destroyed the House of Evolution. She is ranked 16th.
   5.     The gems have known of the Hero Association but try to stay out of its radar taking out corrupted gems and monsters in secret.
   6.     Beach City resides in Sector Z what many consider a dead zone and a monster breeding ground. But despite that Beach City has won the Safest City award on multiple occasions. Monsters do attack, but they are dealt with quickly and no serious damage has dealt to the city. In fact, it’s the only town that has never been destroyed.
   7.     The gems gave Steven a Hero’s outfit after he became a deputy as a congratulations gift. It was made from special fibers allowing it to be indestructible. It’s a short sleeved red and blue onesie with a star on the chest and a blue cape. He wears fingerless red gloves and his sandals when he goes out to do his hero work.
   8.     Steven when he first meets Tatsumaki thinks that she’s his age. And is incredibly surprised to learn otherwise.
   9.     Jasper and the whole Return/Jailbreak arc take the role of Boros in this with a much bigger invasion force attacking Earth. The gems are taken and City A is destroyed, Steven jumps onto the ship and goes after his friends. He ends up facing off against Jasper and in a similar move to Saitama holds back out of a sense of pity for her hearing how she dedicated her life to this singular moment of facing Rose Quartz. If you have any ideas for this AU I would love to hear them. :)

The Fifth Life Lived: Chapter II - The Rooftop
Virgil was panicking. Of course he was. It was what he did best. Now that his mind was finally free of the constant mantra of using the bathroom, he was left with few other options. Navy’s clothes were neatly folded on the floor next to the bath, which had now run cold. He still hadn’t drained it. Of course he hadn’t. He was too surprised by both the knock at the door and the shrimpy kid who had his same face. Virgil pulled at his hair. His mask was still in the hallway. If Madam Juniper found out, he would be severely punished… maybe even burned…
Virgil threw open the door, half expecting to see the offending woman staring down at him. Instead, Navy stood, clad in a different set of robes. “I would like my mask back,” was all he said. Virgil looked up at him. He was experiencing a strange pull to the boy, as if he could protect him. He’d never felt that before.
Virgil grabbed the neatly folded clothing and mask, handing them over to Navy. Navy adjusted the mask atop his nose, tying it before Virgil could hand him the robes. Virgil saw for the first time that the holes on the eyes were covered underneath with a thin glass covering. He tilted his head, surprise taking over his face. Glasses.
They made eye contact for a second. Both knew they would be prohibited to speak. But…
No. It was too risky. Virgil headed back to his room, the door next to Navy’s own. He was intensely conscious of Navy’s eyes on his back. Virgil shut the door.
The next day, training was more brutal than usual. Virgil… Virgil hated training. He always had. Training meant weapons. It meant arrows, machetes, katanas. It meant using whatever they had.
And ever since Virgil was age four, it meant taking life.
It started with something small. A hare, if Virgil could remember correctly. He wasn’t sure how he could ever forget, but… It was one of many. They had strapped it down, twenty feet ahead, and gave him an arrow.
After the hare, it got bigger. Foxes. Otters. Badgers. Everything was held tight, chained in a way that all Virgil had to do was shoot.
It broke him. It broke him like nothing else ever had.
And then one day, at age seven, it changed. Juniper stopped tying prey to the target. Virgil went running, chasing after the rabbits and birds, desperate. The other children were always several feet ahead, and he was several seconds behind. It didn’t take Virgil long to know he wasn’t exactly cut out for this.
That, and there was how much this damaged him morally. If they weren’t running after small animals with a knife or crossbow, they were running obstacles, scaling walls, learning how to fight. Virgil presently knew that this was what hell was surely like. Virgil then didn’t know any different.
Age nine, the night after Navy’s first words to him, everything changed.
Thinking back, it might have been some punishment. Maybe Madame Juniper overheard them, and found this to be the worst thing to do. Or maybe she just figured it was about time, their quiet conversation be damned. Or maybe she just never found out. Either way, that day would never escape Virgil’s mind. It would never let him sleep. It was the day he was first asked to kill a living human being.
Virgil was dragged roughly by his robes. He was alone, except for Juniper, her red hair standing out against her green cloak. Virgil would grow to hate every freckle on her cheek.
“Violet. We’re runnin’ short an time, and we’re having to up th’ training schedule. The higher-ups have requested that we need to speed up, before--” Juniper paused. “Well. Nevermind that. What awaits you is your first task.” Virgil turned to look at her, but in that very instant, she was gone.
Virgil swiveled back around, looking around the terrain surrounding him. Rolling green, as far as the eye could see. They were high up, though, that much he could tell. Virgil looked down over the edge of the hill. His stomach sank to his feet.
They were standing on a giant cliffside.
“You guys probably know these as The Cliffs of Moher now,” Virgil said, interrupting his own story.
“I don’t like where this is going,” Thomas muttered. Virgil’s tale continued on.
Virgil turned to his right, and sure enough, a woman stood looking over the cliffside. Her brown hair was waving in the wind, and the deep green of her dress stood out against the blue of the sea thousands of feet beneath him. Virgil knew what they wanted him to do. He knew it, deep down.
He took a step closer to her, and her head perked up. Oh. This would make things harder.
“Hello there! Pleasure meeting you. Are you lost, poor thing? Oh dear. I’m Melissa. And can I ask who you are, little boy?”
“Vir- uh. Violet. My name is Violet.” His nine year old hands were shaking. He knew what they wanted. How couldn’t he?
“Oh, my apologies, Violet, I’d assumed you were a boy by your cloak. You have a beautiful name, sweetheart,” Melissa said. Virgil shook his head. No. She was too nice. Too kind. How on Earth was he supposed to--
Virgil felt his heart in his throat. His breathing was coming in short gasps, his hands shaking even harder. Oh no. Not this again. Not this, not…
He made a dash for the woman, pushing behind her with all his might. She barely budged. In fact, she laughed. She laughed. Tears pricked at the corner of Virgil’s eyes. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t. He couldn’t. He couldn’t he couldn’t he couldn’t hecouldn’thecouldn’thecouldn’t--
She wrapped her arms around him, a mistaken gesture. She thought he was trying to hug him. He wasn’t. He wasn’t at all.
Before he knew it, he felt a tug at his sleeve. He looked up to see Navy, of all people, standing beside him. He was slightly taller, the blue of his cloaks standing out against the green, grassy hills. He didn’t say a word.
With one solitary shove, the woman was falling.
Virgil felt a lump in his throat and a weight in his stomach.
Assignments were handed out the next week, as always. The blackboard was dusty and aging, segmented by colored lines. Under Navy, the word Assassin was written in bold lettering. Under Onyx, the word Recruiter. Under Rosewood, the word Hunter.
Under Violet, the words Kitchen Helper.
He heard someone snicker behind him. Kitchen Helper. That had never been there before. Assignments were always hunter, caretaker, recruiter. But… Kitchen helper? Did he really mess up that poorly?
“Get to work, kitchen boy,” he heard Onyx sneer. Virgil drew his hands over his chest, his eyes falling to the floor. It was like his shoes had never been so interesting.
And so Virgil worked as a kitchen clerk. He did for ten years.
Somewhere in there, Virgil had enough. He had enough of the consequences, of the isolation. Maybe it was good he was placed in something so boring for so long. If it wasn’t for that, maybe he wouldn’t know Navy as anything more than a color. He wouldn’t know Logan.
Every day, he’d been coming home tired. Virgil watched it from behind the counter, tossing mashed potatoes onto a plate. Well, if there was one good thing about this, at least he could kind of cook now…
Logan was exhausted, though, that was for sure. His forehead was filled with creases, his mouth was drawn into a tight line. One of the days he reached up for a fork of some sort, and Virgil couldn’t help but notice the bloodstains on his hands. Virgil swallowed hard.
It was about ten at night, later that week. Virgil must have been around fourteen at the time. He was lying in bed, awake, staring at the ceiling. This wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. Thoughts of the people, of the animals these people have killed. Virgil didn’t know any different, and yet. The whole thing just seemed wrong somehow.
He couldn’t just sit here. It wasn’t in his heart. Virgil stood up, pacing around the dark purple room. It was true, he was prohibited to talk to anyone. But, the fear of fire had burned out over the years. And really, what more could they do? Push him off the cliffs next? Please. Any way to get out of serving food every day and wishing he was dead was the best opportunity ever given to him.
So, he thought to himself. What the hell?
Virgil looked over, his eyes scanning over the glistening moonlight. A match was sitting on the nightstand next to his bed, the candle (as always) sitting next to it. Virgil hesitated. Should he…?
He struck the match on the pad, not thinking twice. This was it. Lights weren’t supposed to be on, but he couldn’t care less. This was about him. This was about feeling like he was part of something. He deserved at least that.
Virgil opened the window.
“Navy,” he said. His voice was barely above a whisper. “Can you hear me?” There was a pause. A big pause. Virgil was debating crawling out the window, knocking furiously, when he heard it.
“Violet?”
It was just a whisper-- Virgil had to crane his ears to hear it. But it was there.
“Violet, was that you? What’s wrong?” Navy’s voice came echoing through the window. Virgil smiled, his eyes flicking up. Now that he thought about it, the roof was kind of wide…
“Navy, come out on the roof.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Come out on the roof. It’s important,” Virgil said. Of course, it wasn’t important at all. But hey. He was under training for something called The Royal Assassins for twelve years. If he didn’t pick up how to lie under pressure, he didn’t pick up anything at all.
Virgil heard a clicking noise, and before he knew it, he could see the blue cape and mask characteristic of Navy. Virgil pushed past his own window, moving to sit down next to him. Navy’s eyes were wide, but Virgil was calm. For once.
“What’s wrong? What was so important?” Navy said. His voice was strained, and his eyes were scanning back and forth. Virgil laughed, resituating himself on the roof.
“I'm bored.”
“B-bored?” Navy stuttered out. His eyes showed his shock behind the mask. It took all Virgil had not to chuckle.
“Terribly. I'm sick of dishing out mashed potatoes and bread all day and going straight to sleep,” Virgil said. He unlaced his mask again, taking the risk of setting it next to him.
“I wish I could just dish out mashed potatoes,” Navy said. His voice was low. Virgil took a deep breath.
“What is it that you do, anyway?”
“Assassin. It’s in the name,” Navy said.
“Ass?” Virgil said. Navy gave him a look like he wanted to push him off the building. “Oh calm yourself, I'm just kidding.”
“I kill people, Violet,” Navy said. Virgil took a deep breath. Right. Right. He’d always known that, but hearing it from Navy’s lips was… different.
Navy looked over the skyline, the moonlight dancing off the deep blue of his robes. He reached up slowly, his hand shaking. There was a pause. Then, in one fluid movement, he yanked his mask down. “Violet,” he said. His voice was quiet. “What do-- what do you remember of your family?”
“Wow,” Virgil muttered. He wasn’t expecting that. Navy looked serious, though. (Then again, Navy always looked serious. The creases in his forehead never went away.) He debated it, taking his time to think. Maybe he should tell him. There wasn’t much to lose. Besides, he bet all he had that Navy had a similar story. “I was two when they had to sell me. I can’t remember much before that. I've never had the best memory.”
“My mother was a seamstress,” Navy continued, talking over Virgil. “She had the most beautiful brown eyes. My dad worked in cobbling, and his hands were always calloused. Still, he’d come home and treasure us, spoil us, treat us well. The had another kid after me.” His hands were still shaking, just slightly. “A little brother. I wanted to name him Arthur, after the prince, but my mum said that was ridiculous. So we named him after a poet. That or some Dante character. Only problem was the little poet cost more than we thought.” Navy paused, taking in a deep breath. “God, he was only a penny to the prince, I'm sure of it. But it was too much for us. So they sold me here.”
“I'm so sorry, I--”
“Don’t be, I'm sure you have a similar story.”
“But Navy--”
“Logan.”
“I'm sorry?”
“My name. It’s Logan.” Logan. Virgil looked up, smiling over at him. His dark robes and light eyes stood out on the little rooftop, the red flame of Virgil’s candle flickering in the background. Logan. It was the perfect name. All logic, all logos, all gathered and self-controlled intelligence.
“Pleasure to meet you, Logan. My name is Virgil.”
Just like that, Logan’s mouth dropped.
