no but the fact that two worst people ever possessed by their own ambitions managed to bring another eve into the world is so fucking hilarious and then it's also so fucking heartbreaking. because they really are unsuited for being parents, for loving someone beside themselves. and yet it's just a beautiful note that good can come from the most unexpected places and backgrounds. and if good can come from such cruel, lying, corrupt, blind, perverse, morally disfigured, and arrogant people as asriel and marisa, not everything is yet lost

Asriel, Marisa and Lyra Parallels in HDM S1E8: Betrayal
Both Asriel and Marisa were prepared to kill that night. Only one of them went through with it.
Lyra and Marisa are both surprised and uncertain when they find out what Asriel is planning to do, and neither of them wants to be involved. Asriel is disappointed - for a moment - because the only two people he might actually care about aren't impressed by or approving of his grand plan.
