Servamp chapter 121 translation "commedia"

READ CHAPTER ON MANGADEX.

Translation notes

As usual, Tanaka-sensei served dialogue which I had trouble with and there were also some readings which I wasn't able to add on pages, so please check out the notes!

Okay, so, on the 2nd page, the intended reading for the first line had the verb "to accept", while the other reading is "to devour".

On the 6th page, I didn't have space to write the other reading which is also "to devour", or you can also take it as "to consume", regarding the line "We haven't even lived through this day yet, have we?", so with that reading it would be "We haven't even eaten up this day (today) yet, have we?" On the 8th page, I wasn't sure who the demon was referring to at first, but given that he said 非力な男 which means "powerless/incompetent man", I thought he must be talking about Nicco, but I took into consideration that in the previous chapter the demon didn't have control over Ildio for a while, he was listening to Nicco, so maybe that's why the demon calls him incompetent, because he disobeyed the king.

I talked about how I translated the title for chapter 120 and how I thought that the "toast and muddy water", represent the good and the bad, and in this chapter on the 12th page, we have again 祝杯 (toast/celebratory cup) and 泥水 (muddy water) and it seems to represent that idea, to accept the good and the bad in life and make a toast to the present (a beautiful today), that's what Nicco talked about. Carpe diem :) I hope I made sense xD

Page 16, the trouble I had here was in the 2nd panel. Like when I first read Nicco's line, given that there was emphasis on the word 勘違い (misunderstanding) and Ildio asked about Nicco's hair, I made the connection that Nicco was probably referring to the fact that he will no longer get mistaken for his sister, the reason why he let his hair long, or getting mistaken for a woman like how Ildio initially thought when he saved Nicco.

To me it was a little weird because if that's what Nicco was referring to, it was strange that he didn't say "It (his hair) saved me", so, I was like why isn't in the past tense? I still wrote it as such despite the fact that 助けてくれる is written in the present/future tense, because it sounded logical. He must have been alluding to when he escaped from the hospital and Pisca attacked him and resulted in his long hair being cut. It was quite weird, I hope I managed to convey what he says ;;

On page 17, Ildio uses the word 祝杯 which has been mentioned before and this time I translated as "to celebrate."

Cocytus is the river of wailing in the underworld in Greek mythology. In Inferno, the first cantica of Dante's Divine Comedy, Cocytus is the ninth and lowest circle of The Underworld.

On the last page, I couldn't write two readings.

In Jeje's first line, god is the intended reading while the other one is Ildio and this seems to confirm that his name does mean "the god". In Italian. And I guess, Jeje knows the language?

"Something like that doesn't exist!" The other reading for this line has the word 救済者 which means "savior", so you can also read the line as "There's no such thing as a savior!"

Chapter 121 is titled "Commedia". Yup! Tanaka-sensei is totally making the whole theme for the gluttony pair around the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri (perfectly makes sense since Nico is Italian)

Also, looks like Ildio's weapon is going to be shown (place your bets on what it is)!
