It took Tony, Phillip and Ted nearly an hour to get little Emily down for her nap, so all three were relieved as they tip-toed downstairs to talk.
“You still haven’t heard from Steph and Theresa?” Ted asked as they entered the library. “That is unsettling. When was the last time you spoke to them?”
“Last night,” Tony said, “but they were both pretty cryptic about what was going on. It seems they found Ruth alive and well, but I got the impression there was more going on than they would say. I tried calling them earlier, but couldn’t get through.”
“Well, if they’re in the desert, they probably don’t have cell service,” Ted said. “I’m sure they’re fine.”
“I hope so,” Phillip said. “But with those two, one never knows what messes they’ll find themselves in. They’re both too headstrong for their own good.”
“You’re telling me,” Tony said, shaking his head. “I should have gone with them. I’ll never forgive myself if something happens to either of them.”
Phillip’s phone began to ring. He glanced at the screen and grinned.
“Speak of the devil,” he said, answering the call. “Steph? Are you okay? I’ve been calling for hours.”
Tony’s phone rang as well, and he stepped away to answer it.
“Hey,” he said. “It’s about time you called back. Where have you been?”
Ted smiled as he watched both men slide into easy conversations with the women they loved. Yet he couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as he thought of Jackson. Torenth never seemed so far away as it did now.
Resolved, he stepped into the hall and dialed.
“Jack?” he asked. “No, everything’s fine. I just really needed to hear your voice. I really miss you.”
“I miss you, too,” Jack replied.
“So how was your trip?” Ted asked. “Sounds like you made it home okay.”
“Oh, the trip was fine,” Jack replied. “But the rest of the day was … interesting, to say the least.”
“What happened?” Ted asked.
Quickly, Jack described the meeting with his parents.
“So are you excited to be getting out on your own?” Ted asked. “You have to be glad about getting out from under your father’s thumb.”
“I’m warming up to the idea,” Jack replied. “Initially, I was worried about money, but the more I think about it, the less I think it’ll be an issue. After all, just think about all the money we’ll save on hotel rooms!”
Ted burst out laughing.

"Good," Marsh said flatly. "It took me six months of practice to distinguish pulse lengths—if you'd done it on the first try, I'd have felt incompetent."
Marsh’s delivery might be much dryer than Kelsier’s, but a snarky sense of humor must run in the family
whoooaaaa he’s wearing fancy clothes now. sheesh. like remember the time when he don’t possess such clothes??

ARE YOU EXCITED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YAMI’S COUNTRY AAAA WHAT IF ITS LIKE YAMI’S BROTHER THAT HE HAS SECRETLY BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THATD BE SO COOL
I can't tell you how excited I am to hopefully learn a bit more about Yami's country! When I saw the "Whoosh" and Asta on the shoreline, I somehow knew he had "washed up" in Yami's homeland. It has such parrall beauty. I LOVE it!
And for some reason I think Julius is the one that sent Asta there. Julius might not be in control to the body right now, but he seemed to be conscious in there, and I think he "surpassed his limits" and did something because he didn't want Asta to die.
Oh, and I'm right there with the other Yami simps. Seeing Yami so brooding and furious makes me feel all kind of things. lol
I think nowadays there’s already a lot of discussion about the chapters because the leaks are extensive, so most has been had already despite the official translation dropping today. But... I’m still not too sure what to make of all of it.
I have a feeling that the next chapters will be eventful, and possibly reveal a lot of things, because the characters have only a 7 day time window before all hell breaks loose. Quite literally.
And now Lucius seems to have declared war against Yuno, because now he’s the only thing standing between Lucius and world domination it seems. At first, I thought about this being a contradiction to Lucius’ earlier statements about Asta being the sole threat, but then again... If Lucius believes Asta to be dead, then this would be in accordance of the future he has seen. Or the futures he has seen, since he, by his own words, has been able to predict more of them.
But. This is just an idea that is very loose, and something that occurred to me only today, is that in BC, we have those panels where on the background it seems like it’s “blurred” or “white noise”. And in this chapter, it’s during Lucius’ statement of how Yuno is the only advantage his opposers have. I’m thinking if this is Fate. Or The Old Fate (yes, such a “white noise” panel is also present during WQ talking about fate going off track). I’m just thinking that there could be a clue, just not sure what it is yet.
When it comes to Asta’s disappearance to Hino (presumably), the big question is “how???”. Because Sister Lily was supposed to kill him. And honestly, if you want to kill someone with spacial magic, there are far better, more direct ways than to ship them gods know where. Meaning that someone intervened.
So many “why”s when it comes to this. Because it seems that Lucius has been able to transform/take over Julius for all this time (or perhaps only after Julius’ fight with Patry where the Sal Ammonia mark faded away from Julius), and yet he’s choosing to do so only now? Shouldn’t he have killed Asta well beforehand?
The only solution as to “why” Asta was allowed to live for as long as he did, from Lucius’ point of view, was that he needed Asta to weaken Lucifero. But Asta living now makes no sense without outside influence.
And I have a feeling that mysterious perhaps-Papa-Sukehiro wasn’t a spacial mage able to transfer just anyone over continents. Simply because by all reason this would require incredibly powerful magic.
Also the parallels between JuLu and William were clear in this chapter. The WK is the enemy at the moment, or so it seems. I say “or so it seems”, because if the parallels are deeper than what they seem on the surface, there is an “ultimate” villain that has led to JuLu being what they are at the moment. But. Only time will tell
Also Fue seemed kinda jealous while talking about Soul magic. More concerned than jealous, but can’t help by see him feeling inadequate. Poor man :(
