Yeah. It’s a family. And it has welcomed me home with open arms.
John and Hank taught me that I can be smart and still act like a child sometimes.
I can know and understand big-world issues while coloring my face with sharpie.
Hank taught me that music says a helluva lot about you and I should dive right in and create something that means the world to me.
John taught me that no matter how young I can act, I can write one or multiple best-selling novels that strike emotion in the heart of the readers, no matter what the genre.
John and Hank taught me to be more accepting of others. I’ve stood up for those who have hurt me because no matter how much I think they deserve it, it’s still the right thing to do and even if it goes by them unnoticed, I’ll feel better.
I will be the better person. John specifically taught me that children can tell you to cook some really nasty stuff. I’ve made so many new friends in this fandom. Wonderful friends, too.
I don’t even think I should call this a fandom.
It’s more like one giant family.
Yeah. It’s a family.
And it has welcomed me home with open arms.
They taught me that no matter how much world-suck there is, there will always be those on the side of the angels. Those who do great things and effect others in so many ways that when they’re gone, they never really left. Thank you, Vlogbrothers, for everything.

The Vlogbrothers have inspired me to become a more informed, and more accepted person. When I went to my first Nerdfighter gathering with my friend, we were ages 12 and 13, the youngest ones there. I thought we’d be judged and avoided by older Nerdfighters, but the community was so accepting of us regardless of our age.
John and Hank have taught me so much, entertained me for hours on end, and I can honestly say they are my role models, and I hope to continue enjoying their content for many more years to come. John, Hank, cheers. I’m proud of you men.
Thank you for giving me books to read, videos to watch, shirts to wear and /so/ much more. Without you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. DFTBA xx

Thinking about the JL finding out that Bruce has contingency plans for all of his kids and being horrified. But when the League asks them about it, all the kids are like “yeah! we actually all have them for each other just in case” and move on like it’s perfectly normal to have three different ways to take out your brother on hand (for emergencies).

Extremely dangerous how "grooming" in the context of child sexual abuse went from being a very specific pattern of isolation and trust-building with the aim of abusing someone to "telling children anything that contradicts their parents' ultra-conservative worldview is grooming" to "selling rainbow flags in a store is grooming" to "literally anyone I don't like is a groomer".
These days the word seems to most often be used by people who don't care about what it actually means and just want an easy "this person is irredeemably evil, kill them now" button.

Suffer the Children
In Matthew, chapter 19, verse 14, Jesus defended the little children's desire to be with Him, and He blessed them. We find in God's word that we as adults are to be like little children in this regard. Presented by Roy Jackson, October 21, 2023, at United Church of God in Northwest Arkansas.
