lilyknight134: Today I was very lucky and I met tom and zendaya and Nikki! (Toms mum) for a second time! They are such lovely people and came to The Royal Marsden Hospital, we all had lots of pictures together and I got to walk them around mcElwain ward to meet all the children going through treatment. We also took a visit to the teenage and young adults ward 😇 I had such a lovely day thank you so much for coming.

Tw// cancer. Loss. Child loss of cancer.
It's one of those nights I wonder why I'm here when so many cancer fighting children aren't. A little boy who was diagnosed a little before me passed away today. He didn't deserve it. None of us deserve this. I don't understand it.
I want to make a difference. I'm not sure how yet, but I will. And I encourage you all to as well.
Donate to charities. Make meals for families going through this. Donate toys to children's hospitals. Volunteer your time. Check in on your cancer survivor friends and family. Be there for them.
This isn't the most well out together post, and it's not my normal content, but I needed to say it. I love you guys.

Another month begins! 😁 We have Labor Day on Monday. 🔧 The official start of fall is on the 23rd. 🍂 But did you know that September is also childhood cancer awareness month?
Each day, over 40 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States, which means that there are over 17,000 cases of childhood cancer diagnosed each year in the U.S. alone.
The most common form of childhood cancer is leukemia.
1 in 285 children will receive a cancer diagnosis before the age of 20.
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children.
The majority of cancer research is dedicated to adult cancers, not childhood cancers.
If you're able and willing, please donate to the American Childhood Cancer Organization to help support children with cancer. 🎗️ Oh, and tell a survivor that they're badass. @deus-absentia, you're badass!

Hayley’s Assistance Dog Update.
Hi there. Let me start with a huge THANK YOU to all those who contributed to the GoFundMe page to help us afford a pup for Hayley. We were already looking but when we knew we would have the dollars we put a more serious effort in and have found and ordered a pup. The little girl has a family history of therapy and assistance dogs including her mum who still works for Hope For Our Children as a…

Today I wanted to show you my visual arts assessment! It took a while for me to make and if you guys want I can show you the process if you’re interested! The mask is meant to hide a deeper meaning behind the vibrant colours and for the assessment we had to think of a problem we wanted to address through the design and placement of accessories.
My mask is made out of paper mâche, instant paper and mesh, to make the crown like head I got fine metal mesh and covered it in paper mâche , after that process I stuck them on using sticky tape and then covered it with a puréed paper mixture known as instant paper, I sanded it after it dried and then started to use a strong white paint as a base, it was a warm white colour which I later on painted over with a cooler white and started painting the eyes, cheeks, lips, nose and other features, the hard part was definitely painting and hot glueing the accessories onto the mask itself.
When people first look at my mask it has a very creative and positive looking design, it’s vibrant, and based on the masks seen in the French holiday Mardi Gras at the parades, the colour of the paper flowers have a symbolic meaning to them as well, the yellow flower means friendship and kindness and the roses mean live and passion…but despite the joyful feeling of fun and happiness I was aiming to also convey a deeper meaning with the placement of the flowers, the placement of flowers seemingly inside the eye symbolise false optimism, and the gold ribbons are well known for being the symbol of children fighting cancer. The whole piece is about the struggle of childhood cancer, the chemotherapy, check ups, constant reassurance from their families and hospitals that everything is alright and to stay positive as well as the problem that many children with cancer not only have a low chance of survival but are also unable to afford the treatment, and even then the children who do survive undergo serious mental health decline, due to the fear of the cancer coming back. I have a family member who not only survived cancer once but again last year, they had to perform laser surgery on his brain to take out the cancer cells as it was very close to vital nerves in the brain, this is in commemoration to him and his optimism throughout his journey.

Hello lovelies!
So yesterday something was placed on my heart and I wanted to ask you all of something. So for a lil background my younger sister was diagnosed with cancer a while ago and lived at the hospital, it's been five years and she is all cured (praise the Lord and the doctors) but we were very much impacted by the people that helped her. Which is St. Judes. Yesterday, I found out several people I know have family members that have cancer, and while it's not childhood cancer that my sister went through, it's still cancer. So with that on my heart I would like to ask one thing. St. Judes has a part of their website where you can write letters to the children. They will print it out and then give it to them. When my sister went through treatment, this is something that she got, and it encouraged her and made her smile so much. So if you could, would you maybe consider writing a letter to them? I'll put a link so you can find it but it really brightens their day and it would mean alot. Thank you!

If anyone still uses this, I’m looking for help to support my stepdad. We lost my stepbrother to cancer last night and he was staying with us for treatment. We need to transport him back to his home for services which can get costly on top of all the other bills (funeral services, medical bills). I’ve created a go fund me to give to my stepdad to ease the stress of financials. He promised his son, my step brother, that he will go home. This will make it happen.
Anything helps, but if you are unable to donate, please pass this on and pray for my stepdads healing through this process.
