🍭What's something they can never agree on (big or small)?

Their biggest point of contention is their security guy, Frankie. Eden understands why Haru wants and needs a security person (and driver, interpreter & babysitter), but he doesn't think Frankie necessarily needs to be at the house when Haru isn't there. It's not that Eden dislikes Frankie. He actually likes him quite a lot and considers him a friend, and he thinks it's nice to have company around the house sometimes. Eden's problem is that he knows there's almost nothing for Frankie to do when Haru is away. For Eden, it's like having an unemployed roommate, and as much as he likes Frankie, he kind of wishes Frankie had his own place.

Haru, on the other hand, thinks Frankie is there to protect Eden as well as the property. Neither Eden nor Frankie are totally convinced the property needs more than the security cameras when Haru isn't there, and they don't think Eden really needs protection either. But, they know how anxious Haru can be, and how stuck on an idea he can get when he's anxious, so they both humour him.

Frankie is getting paid regardless of whether Haru is there or not, so he certainly doesn't complain about it, even if Eden sometimes does.

🫦What's something seemingly innocent that the other does, says or wears that turns the other on?

For Haru, it's Eden's figure skating costumes. Eden doesn't really think anything of it because the costumes are part of the performance aspect of the sport and it's totally normal for him to wear something fancy (and often form-fitting) for a competition, but the sight of Eden in his costumes makes Haru think less than pure and innocent thoughts.

For Eden, it's one of Haru's t-shirts that has a slogan of questionable appropriateness. In the category of shirts with bad Engiish translations, this one says love carrot in an orange and green design. Eden finds it amusing, and likes to tease Haru about his "love carrot". It took Haru a minute to get the joke, but now he understands it perhaps a bit too well.

In the context of the story, their "official" song is "Broken Parts" (a song that Haru wrote for Eden).

As for real life songs, it's "Beautiful Life" by Bebe Rexha

bonus: Eden skates to this song in a program collaboratively choreographed by himself, Nikolai and Haru. He talks Nikolai into letting Haru provide some input because Haru is a better than average dancer and wants more choreography experience. Haru learns a lot about figure skating in general and skating choreo in particular during the process.

🍫 Who is more likely to steal the other's clothes? What are their favorite items to steal?

They're each equally likely to steal the other's clothes. Haru is a little bigger than Eden, but Eden is way more muscular than Haru, so anything tight or form-fitting doesn't work very well, but they're close enough in size that they can wear most of one another's casual clothes. When they're together, they'll routinely wear each other's sweatpants, t-shirts, shorts and hoodies. When Haru is on the road, he leaves a hoodie behind for Eden, and Eden has also stolen a hat of Haru's that he likes to wear to practice, and one might find Eden's mysteriously "lost" Chinese Zodiac bracelet on Haru's wrist.

BIRD CONSTELLATION WIVES: Corvus, Columba, Cygnus, Aquila, Lyra!!

These five are in a polyamorous relationship and they are all married to each other. Wives. Love them.

Tallest to shortest is Aquila, Columba, Corvus, Cygnus, and Lyra.

Lyra's the smallest but she's also the one that you don't want to piss off. She's filled with rage 24/7.

Aquila, Corvus, and Lyra are the advisors for Aquarius, Capricorn, and Libra, respectively. How Columba and Cygnus managed to snag three of the most important constellations, we still do not know.

They all share custody of a very fat cat named Domino.

These five were actually the first constellations I made after making the Zodiacs! (besides Ophiuchus and Cetus, but I designed Ophi and Cetus while I was designing the Zodiacs so they don't count)

Corvus was actually Capricorn's servant back when they were mortal. It seems that some things never change.

Columba was a child actress in her mortal life and suffered from a large amount of body issues as a result.

Lyra's got two older sisters, both constellations. Their parents got into a bit of gambling trouble, which is how the next part happened:

Lyra also has no forearms. She was mutilated in her mortal life, and as such, she has shiny prosthetics to replace them. (insert something poetic about how her touches can only be cold, never warm, yadda yadda) Why did she get mutilated? Answer: DO NOT FUCK WITH A KOREAN GANG LORD.

I still have yet to work on Aquila's and Cygnus' backstories. Oops.

Aquila dabbles a lot in witchcraft.

Their relationship started out with just Columba and Cygnus, then the two of them inviting Corvus, Aquila joining as Corvus' fuckbuddy, and then all of them just simultaneously fell in love with Lyra.

Cygnus: Stealing her wives' clothes. She hoards oversized hoodies and T-shirts like nobody's business.

Corvus: Humming softly into her wives' ears with her arms around them. She'll do this mostly if they're working, she'll walk up to them, hug them and hum for a bit, and then leave.

Columba: Collecting shiny rocks or pebbles and leaving them on her wives' desks. She's memorized their favorite colors and types of rocks specifically for this.

Aquila: Playing with her wives' hair. Doesn't matter if it's braiding it, running her fingers through it, or slapping her wives in the face with it, she will do it.

THEIR MARRIAGE RINGS. OKAY OKAY I NEED TO TALK ABOUT THEIR MARRIAGE RINGS BECAUSE I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THEM FOR AN UNREASONABLY LONG TIME.

Each of them have four rings, and their names are engraved on the rings (ex: Corvus' rings have 'Aquila', 'Columba', 'Cygnus', 'Lyra', etc. etc.)

They all agreed that to avoid losing their rings (because all of them are disasters at keeping track of things), they'd figure out ways to have them on at all times.

Aquila shrunk her rings and wears them as hoop earrings

Columba enlarged hers and wears them as bangles

Corvus merged her four rings into two rings, stuck a chain to them and wears them on her middle fingers, kinda like this:

Cygnus enlarged hers and wears them as arm bracelets

Lyra shrunk her rings and threaded them onto a necklace

despite growing up in a wealthy, well off family, joshua's childhood was not all that great. the majority of his memories that feature his childhood home, a large, luxury penthouse in the city, are dark and clouded with abuse and trauma. on the outside, things seemed to be perfect; his father was the ceo of a well known, lucrative tech company and his mother was one of the top lawyers in the country. everyone thought that their life, and their family, was perfect. and from the outside looking in, they were.

however his parents weren't good for one another; his father more so than his mother. arguments were an everyday occurrence in the brooks household. it wasn't unusual for josh to wake up to the sound of his parents yelling and cursing at one another, whether it be about his father's infidelity or his mother's poor money management skills. by the time he was nine years old, he had already developed a system during their blowouts; take his younger siblings to the room farthest away from the yelling and distract them with toys or movies until things died down.

things got worse before they got better. the yelling and verbal violence only continued as he and his siblings got older, and joshua had to work even harder to try to hide it from the other brooks children. he didn't want them tainted by it like he had been. he wanted them to keep their innocence and naiveté, something that he had lost at a young age.

when he was seventeen years old, his parents finally decided to part ways and end their marriage. his youngest sibling, who was only seven at the time, was upset by it the breaking up of their family, but joshua couldn't have been happier. he knew that they weren't any good for one another and had been waiting for years for them to finally cut ties and end things. he figured that it would finally be an opportunity for things to calm down and his parents could finally be happy on their own, away from one another.

( death tw ) but things didn't end up getting better. in fact, they got worse. on their way back from one of his little brother's school plays, the entire family got into an accident that injured him and his younger sisters, and unfortunately his parents and little brother passed away at the scene of the accident. it was their last outing together as a family before his parents' divorce would be finalized, and joshua couldn't help but feel guilty about it. his parents were planning on taking separate cars, but he knew how much it would mean to his younger brother if they all went together, so he practically begged his parents to just put their differences aside for a little while, for their youngest son. it's guilt that still weighs heavily on him all these years later, but it's something he's been trying to work through in therapy. being the eldest child in the brooks family meant that he had inherited his father's tech company, which he stepped up as the head of after graduating college a few years later when he was twenty two. and while there was pushback because of how young he was, other people in the company thinking they were much better suited for the job, there was no denying that joshua was his father's son; not in the sense of nepotism, but in the sense that josh was smart, just like his parents and just like his siblings. they all prided themselves on their intelligence, and while all of his siblings were very smart, he inherited his father's love of technology and all things related to it. he knew the tech industry like the back of his hand by the time he was fifteen, so he was ultimately the best choice for the job.

while he does love his job, he can't deny that it's very stressful and time consuming. he doesn't want to be one of those company heads that don't do any work and leave the heavy lifting to their underlings, so he goes above and beyond and is very invested in every decision and project crafted by the company as a whole. because of how seriously he takes his job, he does come across as a hard ass and gives off the typical rigid, ceo vibes, a lot of people see him as such, but that isn't the case. most, if not all, of his employees would say that after getting to know him, he's a great boss.

personality wise, joshua reads more harshly on paper. most people would assume that he's not the nicest person, if only going based off of first impressions. if you catch him during a particularly stressful day, you might thing he's the world's meanest person due to his demeanor and expressions, but he really just has a chronic case of resting bitch face. he's a kind person at his core, although he does have a short fuse; something that he inherited from his father. his jealousy and possessiveness are also traits he earned from his father, whereas his stubbornness and hardheaded tendencies come right from his mother.
