Sketching Hwang Si Mok from Stranger (aka Secret Forest). I started watching this series specifically because of him because I’m collecting kdramas with ‘unemotional’ characters :)
My April announcement of the Summer of Stranger was perhaps a bit premature, but several fic are still en route and this one’s the first. I hope you enjoy!
Summary: A former suspect makes an unwelcome appearance. Yeo-jin and Si-mok share an extended stakeout (and sign practice, and slightly melted snacks).
Set sometime post-season 2, slightly earlier than “chib” and “haengbok.”
3.6k, complete. Minor blood tw, and I suppose a tw for stalking as well. Thank you again to @cupofteaandstars for the beta and @ohyangchon for the brilliant introduction of KSL to the Stranger universe.

Sorry, I actually forgot I have yet to give the review for this drama. But as the commenters have mentioned, this drama is a gem. I love everyone in it, other than the neurotic Yeong-ju, whose behaviour and motivation are unfathomable. I get it that she is upset and insanely jealous having fallen from riches to rags — and possibly losing her then-boyfriend, Jeong-guk, to a “competitor”. But hey,…
Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Divorce Attorney Shin’ on Netflix, About An Unconventional Seoul Lawyer And His Pursuit Of Justice
In the South Korean drama Divorce Attorney Shin (Netflix), based on the webtoon by Kang Tae-kyung, notes of interpersonal humor highlight Cho Seung-woo’s performance as a crusading lawyer with a handful of personality quirks and some personal drama of his own that inspires him in his cases. He was once a pianist, and a professor of music in Germany. But now, Shin has come home to Seoul, hung out…

Summary: Wonju prosecutor Hwang Si-mok stops to help a stranger in crisis. A chance phrase brings up unpleasant memories.
Set sometime post S2, 1.2k, complete. Slight trigger warning for neglect/mistreatment of a child, in keeping with what we know about Si-mok’s mother and his (absent) dad.
