was tagged by @inyourroomalbumversion for ten songs from my "on repeat" playlist on shuffle, thank you xoxo
tagging @dustofeve @thatgothicfairy @ange1attack @raggedyfink @nettys-girl @phoneymedic @blackcoffeewrites63 @stella-welly @calavona-says-hello @birdcageserpent @xjetxblackx if you're interested (sorry if some of you have already been tagged in this, so many of my mutuals are mutuals that these things are always a weird circle lol)
Did a quick sketchy painting last night of my batsona as the cover of Choir Boy’s “Gathering Swans” album, which I've listened to a LOT of over the past couple years. So sad I had to miss them playing live this week bc I was recovering from COVID T.T
I have a few SoM singles but dis one's gotta be it. Classic
10. Last record you bought?
Everyone knows I love Choir Boy more than most bands so even though I dropped an obscene amount of dosh on records recently this is the record ever
11. Is there an “odd man out” record in your collection (it doesn’t fit in with the styles/genres of the rest of your collection)? If so, what is it?
Lol so you already know I have Tame Impala's Innerspeaker since it was a gift when I was like 14...but I am selecting a record of my own choosing for this AKA Bronco by Orville Peck
14. Do you have any rarities/limited edition records? If so, how many?
I dunno about rarities, definitely limited editions. The "rarest" one I have is probably this red Dopesick by Eyehategod album; I got it at a antique/secondhand store and the sticker said it was limited to 300 copies.
Weirdly enough, you're not allowed to sell the record on Discogs so I couldn't find a price comparison - something about how everything that came from that merch label are supposedly bootlegs (not true, lol). Anyway, here it is!
32. Do you own any color vinyl?
I have a small collection, most of my vinyl is color since I usually impulse buy limited editions, lol. Here's some favs:
From left to right: Unknown to the I/Ultra Violet by Drab Majesty, Etazhi by Molchat Doma, and Preston 28 February 1980 (Live) by Joy Division
Q: what book would you associate with your favourite artist?
💽 Choir Boy: you're captured by the (almost always) upbeat 80s sound (just like the hype surrounding A Little Life) until you're met with a brick wall of the saddest, rawest and human lyrics possible.
Choir Boy's lyrics are heart wrenching and deal with heavy topics but, what I like is the delicate and poetic way with which they're able to tell such tales (just like Camus)
💽Black Sabbath: I had to with gothic novels since it's one of they're major elements aesthetic wise, incorporating the gothic and eery atmosphere. I've Always Lived in The Castle feels like a story they could have spun into song and the would have provided amazing performances.
💽Sufjan Stevens: it's impossible not to connect the sensibility and frailty of his music to the full body devotion of Rilke's poetry. Then, I can find the push and pull of a tormented love both in Sufjan's lyrics and in We Are the Ants; that feeling of pain deep in your abdomen and the peace after conflict
Hi hi! I decided to do a silly little introduction for myself :))
Hello! My names dominik, I’m 17, I am a guy, and I really don’t know how this app works lmao. I really enjoy drawing and my interests include warrior cats, mlp, Minecraft, fnaf, breaking bad, DC, mechanical keyboards, choir boy, Johnny goth, nirvana, Radiohead, deftones, and yeah I can’t really think of anything other than that.
A quick little DNI list teehee- dream Stans, homestuck enjoyers, anyone under 14, honestly that’s all I can think of besides other than like basic DNI stuff.
Also! I use an iPad Pro 11 inch, an Apple Pencil 2nd gen, and procreate, but sometimes I use ibisPaint or clip studio paint :))
I hope I enjoy it here :)) I’m mostly here for the art!
