Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me of how much has been lost because of COVID. Yesterday I got a few phone calls that were pretty heavy, and they were because of COVID. I’ve been struck recently by the gaps that seem to exist in my ministry because COVID shut us down for a season. I’m aware of the losses and changes that exist for people.

It was just one of those days where I was like, “Wow. This whole COVID thing has screwed up a lot.”

But I am reminding myself of who God is and what He’s about. Lots of people like to quote Isaiah 55:8-9, and how God’s ways are higher than our own. But I feel like a lot of people forget about the “good news” of Isaiah 55…

“For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.” (Isaiah 55:10‭-‬11)

God DOES what He promises. There aren’t conditions. There aren’t cancellations in His plans because of COVID. His will and His kingdom are certain. Even when I am not, and the rest of the world is not.

O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you healed me. O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit (Psalm 30:2-3). In modern-day language, David would essentially be saying that God healed him and saved his soul from death or pit of hell. God saved him from the enemy and eternal condemnation. God offered this help to us, too! Whenever you’re feeling attacked by the enemy or persecuted by others, cry out to the Lord for help because He heals, protects, and saves!

Ahaha YALL today’s devotion, still about humbling yourself. And how Peter didn’t want Jesus to wash his feet. Ended with “have you been ordering God around or submitting to him?” The whole time reading today I was like, gosh Peter what’s with the attitude.. do better. I’ve got a fricken log in my own eye over here. HA. I thought I’ve been more submissive to God but in prayer I think I’ve been a little bitchy asking for things.

James 4 says : You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives

That was a slap in the face for me this morning. Like damn he got me again. I try to humble myself and ask for things out of the goodness of my heart but I think it’s been a little selfish lately.

Something to think abouuuuttt
